I've been think about tcba and what might have happened if Kakashi had intercepted the Ne ninjas who grabbed Mari before they got to Danzo, or just around when she killed him and I wanted to know what you think would happen?

some iteration of the same events would have happened regardless. mariko was waiting for a confrontation, but if she'd had to initiate, she would have done it.

if he'd caught them in the middle of kidnapping her? those particular ninja would've been toast, but both kakashi and mariko would've known who'd sent them. kakashi would want to go to tsunade, but mariko would say 'if he wanted me dead he wouldn't have kidnapped me.'

so they seek out danzo. the conversation w danzo is mostly the same, mariko still kills him, still takes the sharingan. kakashi would be, uh, horrified, but not immediately try to stop her. and then it's a matter of whether or not kakashi forces a confrontation w mariko or she's able to slip away. if she slips away, the same things go down--the explosions, the political assassination. mariko just doesn't bother w a speech. she's in and out.

if he confronts her--kakashi doesn't want to fight his student. he's disgusted by what he learned, but he's a good soldier. he wants to go to tsunade. he thinks it's forgivable.

mariko runs. she doesn't bother w the rest, she just gets out. it'll have to do.

by far the most infuriating moment in my disco elysium playthrough was (spoiler warning) when i encountered the phasmid, i had a 97% inland empire roll to talk to it, but somehow the roll FAILED. whats worse, at the moment where i could step away and engage it again before it left, I literally had a skill point free to unlock the check and retry but I FUMBLED WITH MY CLICKING (because it was like 1am) and it left. i missed my chance. my only time in the game failing a check over like 75% and it was that one. fuck’s sake. it was so funny
