Fan of short, smutty holiday stories you can devour before bed? 👇🏻
UNWRAPPING HIS TOY is coming to Kindle Unlimited next week (Monday, Dec 11th)! This is the third book in my One-Hand Reads romantic erotica series. Read on for the blurb and the content notes. And don't keep this secret to yourself! Share away. 🎄
BLURB: I want my dad's best friend for Christmas...
The only thing Rachel wants more than the burn of ropes against her skin, is for her boss / dad's best friend Carter to bound and claim her as his own.
At the company Christmas party, she finally makes her move into the forbidden territory of tempting the older man of her dreams into unwrapping her like a gift.
This age gap short 12k story (1st person dual POV) is guaranteed to have you reaching beneath the sheets.
———————————
CONTENT NOTES: Unwrapping His Toy is not for everyone. This story features an adult taboo relationship between an older man and his best friend's daughter (28-year age gap) and explicit s3x scenes. They are also boss and employee, so if that dynamic bothers you, please skip this book.
K!nky features: dirty talk, Daddy k!nk, bondage, spit-swapping, and a little bit of dacryphilia.
Trigger warnings: mentions of divorce and cheating. (The hero was not the one who cheated. He was cheated on, and it's talked about it.)

Can you recommend a good ebook reader for pc and android? I'm bedridden and bored out of my skull most of the time and recently decided to get a digital library card, but I don't actually do much reading outside of ao3 and you seem pretty knowledgeable on book stuff, and it would be cool to have something where I could maybe swap between reading from my laptop in bed to reading from my phone while I'm at my doctor, and be able to pick up where I left off, if possible. If not, still anything easy to use on my computer and phone would be great!
libby works great for library cards! you install the libby app on your phone, and while there are apps for your computer, i usually just log in to libbyapp.com. it automatically syncs your location between all your devices. it works with any library that uses Overdrive for ebooks and audiobooks (which in the USA afaik is most of them)
if you want to use your own epubs, the easiest way (as in, doesn't involve calibre and calibre companion and cloud storage etc etc) is to go to play.google.com/books and upload the epub there, then you can read it in the browser or on your phone in the google play books app and it will all sync up. however if you hate google that could be a problem.
here's my referral link for a two month free trial of scribd: https://www.scribd.com/g/200fnv just like the others, you can read in a browser or a mobile app, and there are SO MANY BOOKS (just note that audiobooks aren't actually unlimited, i've hit the monthly cap a few times)
kobo.com has mobile and desktop apps, i haven't used it much but i assume it should sync pretty well. however that's going to be all books you've purchased, and its primary advantage as far as i can tell is not being amazon. i've heard their e-readers are pretty good.
if you aren't morally opposed, kindle apps are basically all about syncing. i have an old version of the kindle app on my computer so that i can crack the drm on all my books, but you can also just use read.amazon.com to read all your kindle books in a browser (i do this at work). and, honestly, no one else as far as i can tell has matched whispersync functionality when it comes to syncing your reading location between an ebook and an audiobook. i have LOOKED. i would LOVE an alternative to whispersync. i don't have many kindle books with matched audiobooks (sometimes i find deals using matchmaker) but when i had a kindle unlimited trial being able to seamlessly switch between reading the text and listening to the audiobook was so fucking nice. i know amazon sucks and i know the library is better (and i DO use the library as well as buying, so many goddamn books) but a lot of self-pub authors distribute exclusively through kindle unlimited and i'm not going to pretend it doesn't bring useful functionality to the table.
if anyone else is weak for free trials i want bezos money so here's an affiliate link for a kindle unlimited trial: https://amzn.to/39g7ehd
but using your local library card with libby is obviously cheaper and better long-term, and you can get a lot out of the scribd free trial if you're reading a lot

Spicy book review. Possible spoilers ahead. Mature 18+ rating!
Tumblr media
This one was also read over a week ago whoops lol
WHEN I TELL YOU Ana Huang can write some spicy scenes boi. Just when I thought I've read most romance scenarios, Ana says "nope, here, read this" NOT literally but damn. So the Twisted Series has definitely been my fav series of standalones so far. Shout out to the Made Men series bc no one will ever replace Nico, and shout out to Rhys from Twisted Games bc dear lord do I love that man. But this book was also really good!! I give it a 8.8/10 just because best friends brother isn't my fav trope, but I couldn't read Twisted Lies without reading this and I am so glad I did! I definitely recommend reading them in order because so far each book has been more than worth the read. I also appreciate the character development in this book even if it was mostly in the last bit for me. I loved the cameos of the other couples and I definitely enjoyed the storyline exept for that dreaded 3/4 hardship, which btw was new and unexpected. But I was really happy with how this one turned out too! I do recommend😁
Ps. I really couldn't picture anyone for either characters, and I did listen to this on audio book through Hoopla so that may be why, but it IS on Kindle Unlimited😊
If you're interested in purchasing the Paperback, my affiliate link is https://amzn.to/3NF27GS BUT if you have ku like I do, you can also read it there😁

New Release: GLADIATOR TIGER
GLADIATOR TIGER, the last of my Gladiator Shifters paranormal romance series, is out now! It’s available at Amazon for Kindle and in print! (affiliate link) I’m pretty chuffed about finishing this series. I’m happy with how it turned out, and also I haven’t finished a series in approximately One Million Years, so it’s emotionally cathartic. 😀 Their love can stand the test of time… When…

Infernal Fall- Book Review
Tumblr media
Hi! Infernal Fall by Bryan Timothy Mitchell is a book I just finished and the first of a series. It was released earlier this year. I enjoyed it!
I was intrigued reading the blurb of this book, to say the least, and the book delivered on all my questions. This is a Christian fantasy novel that takes us on a journey into the layers of Hell with the main character, Daniel, who just so managed to fall into Hell. Literally.
The Plot
There is only one way out of Hell.
Daniel Strong is a troubled young man with only one bright spot in his life—his girlfriend, Kristine. He hopes to propose to her on a hike in the mountains, but a mysterious artifact in a dark cavern ruins his plan. Things quickly go downhill—literally—as handling the ‘keystone’ causes Daniel to fall straight into Hell, leaving Kristine behind.
A soul-harvesting demon tells him the only way out is through, that he must go to Satan and bargain for his freedom. But the shadow-man responsible for leaving the keystone behind tries to show him there’s another way out. Against his better judgment, Daniel finds himself listening to the demon’s claims that appealing to the Master of the Underworld himself is his only choice.
As the unlikely group traverses the many levels of Hell, hurt, anger, and fear hound Daniel, reminding him how hopeless his efforts truly are. All Daniel can do is push forward in hopes of making it back to Kristine. Will Daniel heed Kristine’s words to choose life? Or will he succumb to the lies pulling him down with every step?
Book Review-
This book follows three characters. We see each of their perspectives as they somehow find themselves a team, travelling through Hell. I’m not going to lie, I got frustrated with them a lot and hated Daniel. But it’s also what kept me intrigued in the book, if that makes sense?
The world building is done well. It was easy to follow along to and for once, I didn’t find myself skimming through the parts which had imagery. I finished the entire read in a day itself.
I don’t actually think I can expand more on the book without giving spoilers but I will say this-
The book is well-paced.
It was fun seeing familiar characters like Lilith and Azazael play cameos here.
The entire concept of Hell and the layers of Hell was well-done and I loved reading about them through the story.
The only criticism I had with the book was the at times iffy character development. I would have loved to see more of it and maybe more deep insights into why they are how they are. Daniel was so unnecessarily angry all the time and that was his character trait but it didn’t explain why a supposedly ruthless demon would let him punch him. I also found it weird that the demon wasn’t better at hiding his emotions, I mean, shouldn’t you be a better actor after living in Hell for years? And lastly, the way both the demon and Beau went along with Daniel when he clearly wasn’t a fit leader. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk.
All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this book to you if you enjoy Christian fiction, think about different interpretations of the afterlife and such.
Thank you to bookinfluencers.com and the author for my free e-book of this read.
In order to keep me up to my ears in books please consider using the following amazon affiliate link to purchase this read. It would be at no extra cost to you and would really help me out, thank you!

‘just one more chapter’ is the very unhealthy motto I live by

Favorite books of 2023
2023 Book Totals
4  Audiobooks 11  Kindle books 8  Tree books
23 Books total
Well, I totally missed 2022’s book report, which seems about right for 2023 .. maybe I’ll finish it one of these days. Links to 2021 and 2020. Anyway, here are the top books on my list, and yet again, in no particular order. (as always, affiliate links to the books get donated to charity every year … currently to my kids’ preschool although open to other suggestions).
Many thanks to Rhia Dizon for doing the bulk of the work to get this list out this year
Foundation Series Books by Isaac Asimov
Yes, the famous sci-fi series that every credible nerd read in high school (or before) … I’m openly admitting I had never gotten to it. Turns out, it’s worth reading, although it tapered off (for me) after maybe book two or three (sort of like Star Wars, in the original order?)
Where Is My Flying Car?: A Memoir of Future Past by J. Storrs Hall
Very interesting, albeit with plenty of holes in the logic, reasoning, and data … I can’t handle too much of this type of writing, but occasionally I find it really interesting, uplifting, depressing, and motivating all at the same time.
In this case, “Hey, if we had kept being aggressive on technology development from the 70s on, where should we be?” He has plenty of theories as to why this didn’t happen (some of which intuitively resonate with me – regulation, anyone? :) – and some of which didn’t, like scientific attacks on nanotech), but without counterfactuals or a deeper understanding, I found those less interesting than the “vision”—also, points to anyone who weaves Feynmann’s arguments into his book so deeply.
The King of Oil: The Secret Lives of Marc Rich by Daniel Ammann
It's about Mark Rich, the guy who turned oil into a commodities market. This one was recommended by Alex Yakubovich. It was really good, super fun, and interesting about something I didn't know very much about, which I quite enjoyed. His life is basically building Rich and Co. and this commodities firm, how the market worked, how he traded, and how he built relationships around the world. He ended up trading with a bunch of countries that were under sanctions from the US which got him in a lot of trouble, maybe unfairly. Ultimately pardoned by President Clinton, which created a whole new scandal.
How to Astronaut: Everything You Need to Know Before Leaving Earth by Terry Virts
It was a recommendation from Dennis Pilarinos. It was fun and easy, approachable for anyone interested in space & aviation, or just adventure … no background required.
My favorite quote: “If you bail out of an aircraft and your parachute doesn't open, you have the rest of your life to figure it out”
The Mature Optimization Handbook by Carlos Bueno
This one was actually recommended by my co-founder Vlad. A great reminder about optimizing (or not) specifically large-scale software systems … into the weeds on measurement and instrumentation, and continually reminding yourself to measure before you optimize, and resist the urge to do it prematurely (incidentally I’m listening to Walter Isaacson’s Elon Musk right now and just got through the part where he realized (very publicly) that he had over-automated the Tesla factories).
Watching the English: The Hidden Rules of English Behavior By Kate Fox
It's funny, probably like 5x longer than it should be, but it's funny. I got it used somewhere cause it's out of print and not available on Kindle, but it seemed a worthwhile investment in my marriage.  :) It's by an English sociologist anthropologist who writes about English culture. And it's funny, huge emphasis on privacy and being private, not being offensive. A bunch of step-by-step discussions, like how do people behave in pubs? How do people behave on the street? How do they talk about the weather? What you call a sofa (or couch, or settee) what you call the toilet (or loo, or WC, etc) or a room (living room? drawing room? best room?) differentiates what class you grew up in.
Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity by Peter Attia
It was a gift from Kurt Schwartz. I ended up meeting Peter at Base Camp randomly as I was listening to it. He takes a pretty prescriptive approach to health & longevity, and it’s a lot unless you are really into it, but my takeaways:
There are four things that will kill you “in old age” - heart attack, diabetes, cancer, and dementia (I am intentionally oversimplifying his language). They are understood in roughly that order, so you can be pretty confident managing the first two(do these studies, take statins if needed, use a CGM, eat reasonably, exercise, sleep) and there’s fewer data as you go down the line.
Another takeaway from a conversation - auto accidents are a high % killer, and of those, fatal accidents are largely clustered around 1) getting t-boned at an intersection, 2) loss of control on high-speed two-lane (eg rural) roads, and 3) merging onto a high-speed road from a side road. Lizzie & I explicitly changed the route we take the kids to preschool from one that traversed a combination of 2 & 3 to one that did not as a result. (sadly, we then saw a fatal crash on our old route a few months later).
Fortitude: American Resilience in the Era of Outrage by Dan Crenshaw
He's a retired Navy SEAL who got blown up by an IED, lost one eye and some other function, and then recovered pretty amazingly. A pretty inspiring story. He had a better attitude and worked through it, then became a politician, which is less inspiring. It became about conservative versus progressive etc towards the end of the book, but otherwise, it was good.
My favorite quote: “Stop saying ‘I have to do X’ … when I was lying in a hospital bed and couldn’t see, I would have given anything to do X. I now make it a point to always say ‘I get to do X’ and it makes me a little more positive, and a little less grumpy, even about things I don’t really want to do”

When Remi came back to Clover Hill, they didn't plan on dating at all. After all, they're ace, and while they're unashamed of it, finding the right time to tell someone that a date isn't leading to the bedroom can get tricky. Plus, they're only planning on being back for a month at the most, right?
But the nice guy from their mom's book club is also sick of being set up, and maybe if they fake date for a while, everyone will get off their back when they "break up." Probably. Hopefully. This fake dating ace romance is available on Kindle Unlimited, and in paperback and ebook. Get it here (affiliate link).
The Heartbreak Handshake is part of the Clover Hill universe. All books are set in the same small town, and you'll see cameos from other books, but each one can be read as a standalone.

how to earn money with free sites
Earning money through free sites encompasses a variety of approaches, each with its own set of opportunities and challenges. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore several avenues to help you generate income without any initial investment.
1. Online Surveys and Market Research:
One of the simplest methods is participating in online surveys and market research studies. Numerous websites, such as Swagbucks, InboxDollars, and Survey Junkie, offer rewards or cash for sharing your opinions. While the payouts may not be substantial, it's an easy way to earn a few extra dollars in your free time.
2. Freelance Work:
Leverage your skills by freelancing on platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, or Freelancer. Whether you're a writer, designer, programmer, or have other skills, these platforms connect freelancers with clients looking for specific services. Build a strong profile, showcase your expertise, and bid on relevant projects to secure paid opportunities.
3. Affiliate Marketing:
Explore affiliate marketing by promoting products or services and earning a commission for every sale made through your unique affiliate link. Amazon Associates, ShareASale, and ClickBank are popular affiliate programs where you can find products to promote. Create engaging content, incorporate affiliate links naturally, and drive traffic to increase your earnings.
4. Content Creation on Revenue-Sharing Platforms:
Platforms like YouTube, Medium, and HubPages allow you to create and share content while earning a share of the advertising revenue. If you're skilled at creating videos, articles, or other engaging content, this can be a sustainable way to generate passive income over time.
5. Online Tutoring and Teaching:
If you have expertise in a particular subject, consider teaching or tutoring online. Websites like Chegg Tutors, Tutor.com, and VIPKid connect educators with students seeking assistance. This is not only a way to earn money but also to share your knowledge and skills with others.
6. Virtual Assistance:
Offer virtual assistance services to individuals or businesses in need of administrative support. Tasks may include email management, scheduling, data entry, and more. Platforms like TaskRabbit or freelancing sites often have opportunities for virtual assistants.
7. Stock Photography:
If you're skilled in photography, contribute your images to stock photo websites like Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, or iStock. Each download earns you a commission, providing a passive income stream from your creative work.
8. Online Courses and Ebooks:
Create and sell online courses or ebooks on platforms like Udemy or Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. Share your knowledge on a specific topic and earn royalties as people enroll in your courses or purchase your ebooks.
9. Remote Transcription and Captioning:
Offer transcription or captioning services online through platforms like Rev or TranscribeMe. If you have strong language and typing skills, this can be a flexible way to earn money.
10. Testing Websites and Apps:
Participate in usability testing for websites and apps through platforms like UserTesting. Provide feedback on user experience, and get paid for your insights.
In conclusion, while earning money through free sites is possible, success often requires dedication, skill development, and patience. Explore multiple avenues based on your strengths and interests, and be cautious of potential scams. Remember, consistent effort and a proactive approach are key to building a sustainable online income.

This book redeemed Freida McFadden for me! I give this book a 9/10, I was really happy with the story and the plot line and the twists. Without spoiling too much, this book didn't have much character growth however it was ok in this scenario. I also listened to this in one sitting which I usually cannot do with books! I do recommend this!

If you'd like to find it on Amazon, my commissionable affiliate link is https://amzn.to/3NF27GS. As I stated I listened to this on Hoopla and it's available through Kindle Unlimited as well! 😁
