No, but here's the thing about this.

You would not get very far.

These men hunt people for a living. People actively trying to avoid being found. Hard to find targets? Never heard of 'em. And they have resources. You disappear? Price is on the phone with Laswell and she's got eyes on you before you even hit the next town over. They will follow you and find you, even if you don't know they're there until they're literally standing in front of you.

You would not get very far.

Of course there would be the emotions and they'd be pissed, but also upset because you just up and left, but here's the thing. Whether they bring you back or if somehow you've managed to avoid them, when you come back? You're never leaving their sight again. The door locks from the outside now. Personal space? Never heard of her. Time alone? Ha. That's cute. I wouldn't put it past Price to handcuff you to one of them at all times to make sure you don't escape again. The guards at the front gate know you and they will detain you if you even get close to them. All of the soldiers on base know if they see you alone? Detain until one of TF141 can get to you.

They would not let you out of their sight again.

Anyway, while that would be heartbreaking and add so much angst, it's just not something reader would do. Even if things got really bad, that's just not something the reader would even think of. Reader is bound by a sense of ingrained duty to their new pack and there's no getting out of that. They're stuck there and even if reader did want to leave, that's incredibly dangerous. We've seen how close others have gotten with the boys there. Imagine if reader was just out in the world alone.

You'll understand too as the fic goes on why the reader running would not work , as more and more gets revealed about things. But yeah, that's kind of the answer on that one. Reader wouldn't run, and even if they did...you're running from specially trained soldiers that hunt hard to find targets as their day job.

despite atreus hearing your compliments every day, he still blushes crazy and mutters a cute "thanks"

he always comes to you when kratos can't seem to listen to him, seeking advice from you

"but he doesn't understand me at all, it's like he only cares about himself!"

"atreus, honey, he's just stressed. you broke your arm by trying to tame a bear the other day"

there were some situations where he even slipped out a quick "mom" while thanking you or apologizing

you were suprised however you didn't tease him about it

atreus saw you as a mother, and incredibly appreciated you, especially since the loss of his own mother ;((

the boy grew very fond of you and couldn't imagine a life without your affection and words <3

and so did his father...

although it was a little bit different...

kratos saw the way you treat him and his son, and he definitely appreciated it

he saw the way you fussed over him when he got a nasty hit, using your first aid knowledge, to help him ease the pain

the way you helped him make atreus' arrows, and told him to rest while you keep watch during journeys

the way you took care of their clothes, washing them at least once in a while to keep them clean

the way you cleaned the house while they were gone, so they could both return to a clean and warm home

the way you calmed him down and tried to explain that shouting at atreus won't help anyone

the way you gave him small tips on how to deal with his boy

the way you brought him a glass of water and talked whenever he had a nightmare

you do everything you can to give them a good and easy life, and honestly he appreciated every little small thing

atreus was already sleeping lightly, laying his head on your lap while you were gently caressing

And in fact, I have the same theory as you, which would definitely make a lot of sense, if not most sense. And that’s why I don’t know exactly what to make of it, especially, what fanfictions will they use? And how exactly it is going to be, ahhhh. It's crazy, definitely.

Another possibility would be that it is something like another forum, only this time for writers or something. Or another library-like thing. I mean, had this two things in duskwood. And finding some 'books' aka fanfictions there would be interesting as well. Or yeah, like in the forum, people shared their written things.

This is a huge mystery, tbh. I can’t believe Everbyte just dropped that question and then didn’t mention it ever again. How can they do this to us? 😭 It's truly tormenting my thoughts. xD

However, I am also a bit afraid of how it will be and how exactly it will turn up. I mean, this could get a lot of people into fanfiction who don’t know or appreciate this kind of creativity. BUT! i can assure you that it is not fake or pointless. assimilation and the "loss" of your heritage is a very real kind of pain! and i am so so happy you felt that my fic resonated with you, and that you felt it was beautiful. i appreciate you so very much <3

on a final note. i do want to say that, again, immigrant narratives are generally kind of marginalized so it's not surprising that you don't often come across that kind of media (and i am very honoured that my silly fic was one of your rare times experiencing that narrative in fiction LOL). i'm most familiar with chinese narratives and i'm not sure if that's of interest to you, but if it IS then i can recommend a couple of short stories that relate to it:

good hunting by ken liu (this also has a netflix adaptation that is part of the love, death, and robots series. i would recommend both! i LOVE this story - it relates not only to individual cultural loss but the wider cultural erosion that comes with colonialism)

mother tongues by s. qiouyi liu (funnily enough, also in second person pov. super niche story, i cannot remember how i found it but ooughhh it hurt. i read it several years ago and i still think about it every now and then, it left a lasting impression on me)

I want to state I don't hate Kristoph or anything, I think I just get irritated sometimes at the attention the male characters in ace attorney get. I love Kristoph as a character and I've drawn and written about him a lot because he's cool! I just wish more people could give the leniency to female characters that they gave male ones. and Dahlia n Kristoph are good examples of similar characters for me.

why people should try to give Dahlia Hawthorne a chance (imagine this has been presented like a PowerPoint)

- she's so fucking funny first of all. fail girl of all time.

- literally got roasted so hard she went to hell

- so so much potential in her character

- Capcom mishandled her because they hate women but we don't have to hate women as well

- she killed a pedo, and someone who likes Britain (girl win!)

- she technically stopped Godot from his coffee addiction with an.. intervention. and it worked for a few years. to be polite.

- a woman

- a lesbian

- transgender

- her backstory is actually there even if it's a mess. unlike other poison loving gay ass characters.. (THIS IS A JOKE PEOPLE PLS DONT HATE ME I'M BEING SILLY N JESTFUL!)

- since her backstory and character is a mess you can just interpret her however u want and ur right!

- Capcom genuinely wrote her character while hating her and forgot that she was a child when Terry Fawkes "dated her" and that she was even YOUNGER when she apparently manipulated her father into dropping off Iris and abandoning her at a temple?? like you were so right for pointing this one out.

- It really feels like the narrative hates her more than it likes being a good story and smooth ride. It just wants to demonise her over and over again than write an impactful journey of a character becoming filled with hatred and jealousy.

- objectively the funniest character and also the most tragic (to me so actually not at all objective but but but)

- really good showing of how even though she was so distant from the Fey family and her bio mother, she still suffered due to their family's generational trauma and baggage.

- incredibly underrated for the final villain of the ace attorney trilogy. Like other villains in ace attorney are cool and all but pls pls pls I know she's not a twink in a homoerotic relationship but she's so cool..

I think Dahlia Hawthorne could be really interesting if people gave her a chance and I really wish they would because as a person or someone who is seen as a girl a lot and demonised a bit due to my uh.. issues.. I find myself relating to parts of her character. Also evil women go fucking crazy, love em. This also kind of goes for Iris as well, she doesn't... really ever get talked about outside of her relationship with Phoenix n that's in part fault of the fandom AND Capcom (my sworn enemies.)

Falmer Warriors of any sort that wielded a blade (like a sword or a dagger etc) would go thru a complex ritual bonding them to a blade made specifically for them and Only them. It was believed that each blade had a portion of our Warrior-God residing within it. That God would guide their blade, ensuring that it would never harm the one weilding it, or any ally

These rituals were massively important to the entire hive. Everyone would gather to be present to show their support and pride in the Warrior !

The Warrior-God. Ok. There were many stories abt them. But the Main Belief was that they were made up of three parts: the Blade that protects (in a more offensive way) us, the Fury that guides us (in battle), and the Light that protects us (in a more defensive way) (roughly translated). Those three parts came from three separate gods that were fractured and destroyed when the ancient snow elves were corrupted. Bc they were gods and couldn't ACTUALLY be destroyed they still existed, and their fragmented parts combined to form our Warrior-God

Auri-El gave us the sun . When we were corrupted by the Dwemer he put the sun inside us to protect and sustain us even when we were underground.

There r gods for practically every aspect of life. I prayed often to our agricultural God since I was a farmer :3 asking them 2 watch over my crops and make sure they were healthy, for insight on how 2 better care for them,Things like that.

Hives are very close knit, and place a lot of value on caring for each other. This comes from our ancestors' "allies" betraying them, and the atmorans trying to slaughter them--if no one loves and cares for the Falmer, then they will love and care for themselves.

Because of this, every time a falmer was born it was cause for massive celebration! Everyone would greet the baby and give their best wishes, so the first thing they'd ever experience was people showing them love and kindness and giving them well wishes :3

At every important milestone for a Falmer child, a Gift is given that represents something. The gift was always hand made by the giver and it would always be smthn practical that can be used in day to day life. (My gifts were baskets, sturdy and hand woven ones made 2 last a lifetime. They symbolized that th recipient would always have someone out there 2 support them :3)

Our language was created to mimic the noises of the chaurus so we could converse around the Dwemer n they'd think it was just chaurus sounds. Legends say that plans of our rebellions would be openly discussed in front of dwemer leaders bc they just didn't think we were smart enough to even HAVE a language. A lot of our tales r about how the dwemer thought they were the only intelligent people alive literally at all.

Ok so. Let's start with the similarities:

-Both of them are so hands on people when it comes to creating music or art or clothes or whatever they're working on. They are (clearly) creative people, but they also manage every single detail (borderline micromanagers imo lol), they like to know how to do everything, and make sure everything has a solid, profound meaning. They seem to be always working on something, like the creative energy cannot be contained and they need multiple outlets for it. Also, they like to play and have fun, but when it comes to creating, they are all in.

-They are sarcastic caustic, witty, charming as hell (unfortunately for yours truly😪🤡) snarky and sassy whenever they want, however, both have a "be kind to all people and they will be kind back" social approach that keeps them from being absolute assholes. I think they discovered that communication skills take you a long way and really honed on them. (This doesn't mean they won't call people on their bullshit, they will).

-Speaking of!! They have Beef™ with past labels (fairly so), and aren't afraid to be loud about it.

-Won't. Shut. Up. oh my god ((affectionate)). These men will love to have monopolize a conversation, that's for sure.

-Obscure references; they just like to know things, all things. They'll pull out some weird fact unknown to humanity in the middle of a conversation. I think they're very curiosity-driven people.

-Then there's the duality of man: being very much sunshiney-coded, while having a very dark side.

-Song writing-wise, i love that they're both on the specificity wins the day team<3 And I would KILL to hear the song they wrote together years ago (during 2018 dare i say?). I'd also love to see their current selves collaborating!!

-That thing they do of being incredibly active online and then fall off the face of the Earth for months? Yeah.

(Potentially controversial, but i attribute a lot of these traits to their gemini moons, because of course they have gemini moons, and that's probably one of the main reasons i feel so insane about them, and want to slap them and kiss them simultaneously). MOVING ON

Their differences are a little harder to pin point funnily enough?? I can't think of that many rn but i'm sure there's more.

-They look very different (obviously), but because of how they choose to look, which connects directly to their personalities, habits and lifestyles. Speaking of universal the fashion styles, Awsten lands on: creative, dramatic-fashionista and natural, in that order. Which means he likes experimenting with indumentary and looks (we know he loves changing his hair colour), statement pieces and innovation (reflected on his own designs), and at the end of that it's comfort.

With Ashton we have: natural, creative (but leaning on the hippie/boho substyle) and from time to time, alluring. He prioritizes comfort, practicality and clothes that reflect his lifestyle/spirituality in this case, and then there's the rockstar in him who loves dark colours, leather and thight pants (bless his fucking heart🙏🏻).

-While both have a natural inclination to be cynics, Ashton clearly leans a lot into spiritual matters, while Awsten has a more "logical" approach to life i'd say.

-(idk if i should mention it, or if it counts but) Awsten is like,,, eternally sober and has openly said he doesn't like any kind of drugs. Ash obviously loves his lil dubbies and stuff, which I think it's also a huge difference between them.

-Their lifestyles are, at their core, very different? Like, i see Ashton buying a farm or leaving for the woods after retirement never to be seen again, while Awsten would (i think) never do that.

Anyways, for these and many, many more reasons, these two send me into fits of absolute rabidness and softness simultaneously whenever they want to. I hope this made sense and you can see how i made these connections. Thank u for asking!!🤍

[[Okay no - this means a LOT and gives me chance to rant <3 To this day, and probably for the rest of my life, I still remember that the VERY first anon I got on my previous Raivis blog in 2011/2012ish was someone insisting that I play him wrong because "Latvia shouldn't be a coward. It's insulting." I didn't have the words to argue back when I was 15/16. I gave some half-assed response, but it didn't get the crux of the issue. Fandom often boils characters down into two types: stoic, deadpanned ones who are unwavering in the face of danger, who carefully control each reaction to only show what they wish to be shown. . . and shitlords who are chaotic and quirky, and who will quip out one-liners in the face of danger, but never show deeper emotional experiences beyond what is needed for plot or memes. Being scared is inherently viewed as weak. Raivis is not weak. Raivis is terrified, overwhelmed, anxious, ruminating, and easily spooked, but he is not weak. There is strength in kindness. To see some of the worst the world has to offer, to be broken down over and over through multiple empires hellbent on exploiting land and people they refuse to respect, to be trapped in a physical form much smaller and more feeble than those around him, to have all that and still choose kindness: That is strength. To look at the pain one has gone through and stubbornly refuse to let it harden one's heart, to reach out to those even more vulnerable than one's own self, to hold true to one's morals even when no one would blame him for faltering or being selfish: That is strength. Looking at an uncaring world and daring to care anyways: That is strength.

This isn't even going into his being a literal genius, "an astounding guy," capable of "doing incredible things." Canon quotes. However, these details are tossed aside because he's also a crybaby, unassertive, and reactive. Time and time again, anxiety is only treated as an interesting character trait if it's the quiet, creeping dread that isn't too obtrusive to other characters or the readers. The moment it becomes a problem for those around them, it's an annoying character, never mind that high reactivity is common in PTSD-related anxiety, never mind that mental health struggles are, in fact, often fucking intrusive.

Struggling is not weak. Crying and fearing and worrying are not weak. Vulnerability is not weak. Emotions are not weak. Canon Raivis is not weak and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK.
