#thinking a lawttt about how pyrite was described to be the same color as a peach a lot #the freckles as described in the id are supposed to make her look like the inside of a peach #she has scars all over her body bc she was enchanted to be really clumsy so i would imagine she would be constantly getting hurt by acciden #her feet [and other skywing feet] have a fifth toe on the back kinda like raptor claws that they use for balance and grabbing things #in winter turning the original pyrite[?] was described to have black eyes so i gave her really big pupils - #- that would probably make her eyes look black head-on #she has lil bear ears btw !! i think skywings and icewings have bear ears bc theyre smaller and wont get cold as easily . also theyre cute #i just thought the crest of spines would look cute but then i realized the resemblance to icewing spikes so i added them to the tail too #the antler horns looking like icewing reindeer horns also wasnt intentional i just wanted them to look unique - #- instead of the generic straight horns or curved i usually give skywings #i think ​she has quite a bit of icewing remnants left over despite the spell actually #like i would imagine her fire is weaker than the other skywings and would be a lot less hotter #she also instinctively isnt used to skywing proportions hence why shes sitting the way she is with her legs all weird and wings not closed #other than that shes rather boring and isnt very flamboyant bc i think scarlet would think she doesnt deserve it #i dont really have any other design notes everything was added last second or by complete accident gafksndkxk #I JUST REALIZED THE THUMB ON HER WING IS BACKWARDS . Just ended a call with my friend where she revealed that her roommate's boyfriend got mad because they (my friend and her roommate) both find Firefly boring and he started going on a tangent about how Firefly is an absolute angel who didn't do anything wrong and that their tastes are whack.

Honestly I love Firefly and I think both parties just don’t get the appeal of her.

Girl who is slowly losing her grip on reality both literally and metaphorically joins a group of morally questionable but well intentioned people set on creating the best possible future for everyone, all while she attempts to make the most of what life she has left, burning brightly like her namesake.

And she has a kickass mecha suit from the ancient times tm* that basically functions as the aid to her disability

Her roommates boyfriend getting mad because Firefly is an angel that does no wrong is incorrect, because as heroic as their goals are, they are still considered intergalactic terrorists for a reason

Your friend and her roommate finding Firefly is a matter of personal opinion, but objectively I don’t think she’s boring in the slightest, in fact I think she’s one of the coolest characters in the game, the only boring thing about her is her non-SAM design imo

Honestly I thought we moved past this too but hopefully 2.3 changes their minds and we get some good Firefly content lol

Seen at least one (1) person complain about Crocodile losing his "unique faceshape" (now having the same facial structure that 90% of OP men have) after episode 1086 came out and like

To be fair, yes, the shape of his head HAS changed since his first appearance in The Year 2000. The thing is, Toei's latest Crocodile Offering is frankly more in-line with how Oda drew Crocodile during Impel Down and Marineford than ever before. Like yeah he looks different, but this change isn't new

But that comment really did make me think about how FUNNY it is just how different Croc really looks from his first appearance, like. The evolution in how Oda draws the bastard is so facinating to me

These are from chapters 155, 160 and 205 respectively.

No massive changes happening here in the middle of the arc, but you can kinda tell that Oda was definitely still figuring out how this asshole was supposed to look as he got further into the Alabasta (which is perfectly normal), which just makes That First Appearance look even funnier with time because. Who the fuck is that lmaooo

But then we get to see him briefly during Miss Goldenweek's cover story, this being from the cover of chapter 413! All things considdered, bastard hasn't changed that much, still looks pretty much the same as in Alabasta. His head is maybe a little less elongated than before but still, chin is quite pointy still

And now we're in Impel Down at chapter 540. Again, dude looks about the same as he did before...

But it really doesn't take long for Oda to start reshaping this bastard's entire head at this point

Chapters 544, 546, 578, and cover of chapter 584

The chin is easily the most obvious part, but you can tell Oda kind of defaulted to giving him that same ol' evenly square-ish head most his conventionally attractive characters have during these story arcs (instead of the elongated shape he originally had).

And then we have the latest appearances, from 1082 and 1100

I do feel like comparing these to what's come before would be a little unfair considdering his health and eyesight and how those affect the artwork itself, but. They're there, for comparison's sake

But the point is still there. Crocodile's face shape has changed since his first appearance, but it's not like Toei was behind that, the change was (mostly) gradual and from Oda himself. And it mostly happened in 2008, so it's not new by any means either

So really, all Toei did was just update his character model because ⬆️ is more accurate than ⬇️ for One Piece right now

Regardless. The sheer difference between the two is hysterical to me

Something that's really irritating me about the Off-White doll is that when you look at the concept art, she has 0 monster features aside from her green skin. Her monster type was such an after thought, and that's why its so poorly reflected in her design. Like she's supposed to be a fish (I think) where are her scales? Where are her fins? For such an expensive doll, I expected more than just a reused face mold, and a very easily recognizable one at that.

Her concept art really looks like a pale Casta Fierce. And honestly, I would probably like her more if that was the direction they took. Instead of being completely new, lazily designed characters, they could have done something like "Casta Fierce modelling for Off-Fright" or something, and added a witchy twist to the actual Off-White look. I mean, it would still be grossly overpriced, but I guarantee she'd sell better, especially considering Casta only ever got one doll. And it would've been SO PERFECT for an October Friday the 13th release.
