The first Thor movie is really fucking bad but when Thor realizes he has to destroy the bridge and goes “I’m sorry jane” and then Loki’s voice pitches up when he’s telling Odin he could have destroyed the frost giants, like a child still wanting daddy’s approval (and what better way than following in his genocidal father’s footsteps and attempting to destroy an entire race) and Loki lets go after he’s rejected, and Thor just SCREAMS because nothing that’s happened matters to him so much as his brother being safe and ALIVE and then there’s the quiet, sad little cut to Jane’s silhouette when she realizes the bridge is gone
