I've been joking that I'm looking forward to Criston's homicidal grandpa arc, but seriously, this moment is going to make me go insane. We're actually going to see Criston spend time with all three four of his children this season. But this moment is gonna be incredible. Because he's rushing for Aegon and Aemond, most likely having just watched them fall from the sky, their dragons entangled with Meleys. He probably thinks he's about to find nothing left, that they're both dead and it will be his fault because this was his plan, his idea.

Those are his children. He knew Aegon and Helaena from when they were babies, odds are he was right outside of Alicent's chambers when Aemond and Daeron were born. He likely heard Aemond and Daeron's first cries of life, probably walked with Alicent when she had to present them to Viserys hours later.

I swear to God, if that leak about Criston carrying Aegon is true, I will be passing away. 😭

i really don't get why people are saying that alicent and criston only bonded over their mutual hatred to rhaenyra.

their relationship has literally nothing to do with her.

they were both wronged, used and exploited by a targ only to be later dismissed and disposed of like trash. they are both outsiders - with alicent being a hightower queen and criston a lowborn dornish man, they're both religious and have a strong sense of justice and honor. they are the only people in the world that truly understand and appreciate each other.

in their first scene together, alicent invites criston to seat by her side - because, from the start, she saw his as her equal. she saved him from taking his own life, she was there for him in his darkest hour, she gave him a purpose and - in his eyes - offered him a way to restore his honor - the thing he values the most.

he becomes the father of her children, her fiercest protector. he would do everything for her. (daemyra could NEVER)

how can you look at their relationship and dismiss it as "he's only on her side because he's bitter" ? alicent is everything to criston. she saved him, she respects him, she gave him a family.

I will never be over Aegon's coronation scene where after he has been crowned and he looks at his family.

This moment makes me wanna chew carpet. The different reactions between his parents and Helaena, and how both Criston and Alicent bow, and Helaena cannot even look, she has to turn away. But Aemond looks right at him and gives that tiny nod that says "I may hate this and think I am better for the job as king. But I've got your back and always will." And for those of us who have read the book, we know how true that is.

This family. Damn. (It's also so interesting that Otto was cut out of that shot and it was tightened in on just the four.)
