The fear of humans came true, the giant meteor, which was prophesied to hit the earth's ground soon, actually fell on the living planet, destroying a big part of asia. A few smaller meteors followed the bigger one and hit a few close areas. Despite of all the warnings and safety campaigns, many people died. The world population decreased in an instant. The ruler system fell apart. World economy was grounded. Smoke clouded the sky. Glimpse of heinous fire could be seen here and there. Air was heavy with painful whimpers and sobs.

Even in such crisis, a few classy families of politics and leaders were provided the highest level of safety with the secure houses made of the finest stuffs. A large part of food and water was preserved for them. Two or three of such families or family members survived well enough while the poor survivors died, lacking food water and medication.

You were the eldest daughter of a well known person. You dad used to be a bright face in world politics. He was cruel and selfish. He had both power and money. So he spoilt you as much as he wanted. You inherited his stubborn rude nature in yourself.

You were twenty years old when the fall out took place. Your younger brother was fourteen. If you were spoiled, he was like a little demon. He did whatever he wanted at such early age which costed his life in the meteor attack. He wanted to see how it looked when a meteor fell on poor average people. So he ran out of the safety shelter and your father followed him to bring him back. Of course the meteor hit both of them and they died. Their sudden death was tough for you to handle but a part of you was somewhat happy that you would have none in you way from then.

Your father was wise enough for collecting the precious papers and plans related to world domination before hand. So with the help of those papers and your dead father's reputation, you got your hands on the world politics easily.

One year from that day, the world government fell apart but with the help of the survivors, somehow they managed to get things together in a way. The authorities chose the powerful survivors and decided the areas around the world to take care of. You were a chosen one. A large part of asia was given to you for nurturing and developing.

You agreed very easily and took over the area. You had to put on a mask which helped you to act kind. You hated people bellow your standard but for the sake of greater future, you offered help to those "bullshit" survivors.

At first you were disgusted by the condition of those survivors, some lost their legs, some lost their both of the eyes or one and the injury list could go far long. The authorities sent a team to each leaders and you chose some employs from your area. Your team was slowly building up. You were earning people's trust and respect with your coating of kindness. You were earning trust from the the head authorities as well. They were pleased with your work. But you had hunger, hunger for something greater, hunger for all of it. This was very less of a portion when you were starving for world domination. Your father was one of the main faces of the world. You needed to be the "only" main face of this fallen world.

As the days continued, your team grew bigger with the healthier survivors joining. Your heavily inspired them. Your soft behavior and kindness intrigued a lot of them. Your pretty face was also another reason for many young men's joining. You could notice how many people looked up at you with adoration in their eyes, some were romantic, some were platonic.

Overall it was going how it was supposed to. But, behind every eyes, you were plotting something. You wanted to snatch away powers from the other seven leaders around the world, by corrupting them anyhow. You collected papers from various sources. Since the radio waves and towers fell apart, the world connection was slow but still content. You took your time in collecting the weak points and potholes of other leader's work. You spent years after years planning, earning trusts and working on papers which would destroy your enemies. After all, the world should belong to where it's supposed to, under your feet.

Your trusted team helped you in this. You made a private team of four people. They helped you to find the papers and other things whenever you needed. They were your right hand people.

Your first victim was your neighbour leader, with whom you shared a part of asia. He was a kind man, genuinely kind. He wanted to help the poor people. Though he also belonged to a famous household before the fall out, his mind wasn't that corrupted. How boring! You used the papers about the secret scams of his family which your dad once collected and anonymously sent it to the head authority, to show how much of a scammer that family was. Your father was a savior but couldn't save himself though. To prove your point a bit more, your team went undercover and stole the money which was sent by the head authorities for the fund works, resulting a huge miscalculation in reports. Poor leader couldn't defend himself and his spot was snatch away at once by the authorities. There were no chances of mistake in a world of needs. So you appeared as a savior again and helped the poor people with shelter and food with medication. Already pleased authority was delighted by your "sweet gesture" and offered that area to you and you took it the offer in order to "help the people in need".

You were busy in checking the reports from your team about the developement around your area. Some files on the food and shelter restock was attached with the main report. You had a pen in your hand while you seated on the luxury chair of your office.

You heard a knock on your door.

"Ma'am? May I come in?"

You didn't raise your head and uttered a "yeah". The other person pushed the door open and entered your well maintained, classy office room.

"Ma'am, there is someone who seeks your visit"

Your brows got twisted as you looked up.

"I wasn't informed about any meeting today. Who is it?"

"He has stated that he wants to join your team."

"Oh. But in order to join, he needs to meet my assistant first. Not me. You all know the rule, right?", you looked at your worker.

"Yes ma'am we know. We tried to tell him all that but he isn't listening. He said that he was full of potential and you are the only one who could value it truly."

"Oh what a bold mouth he got", you grinned. "That's indeed interesting. Fine. Tell him to wait outside for ten minutes"

"Alright ma'am", the worker bowed and left the the room.

You were amused. You knew that you had some admirer who joined your team just for you. Actually you didn't mind them at all, instead they were easy to control. But this guy seemed very confident in himself. It'd be fun in taking control over him.

You were smirking to yourself as you finished your paper works and signed where you needed to. You kept the file aside when you heard a knock on your door. You checked the clock when your worker left to inform hin about ten minutes wait, it was 11:30 am and the knock came right on 11:40 am. Accurate on time ! Impressive.

"Come in", you spoke. The door was pushed open once again and there stood the guy, so majestic that you couldn't look away. Those raven hairs in neat bun with a lock hanging loose on his left side of face, those dark intriguing deep eyes and that sharp face— he was handsome, you needed to admit. And this dark ear piercing made him look even better.

"Thank you for giving me a chance, ma'am", honey dripped in his voice as he spoke. You were impressed by his physical appearance but you weren't a person to loose your composure either. You gestured him with your familiar sweet and kind smile.

"No problem. Come take a seat"

He came and sat at on the chair at the other side of your desk.

"I heard you claim that you have potential?", you questioned him.

"Certainly, ma'am"

"Very well. Care to introduce your self?", you eyes danced in hidden mischief.

"I'm Geto Suguru. I'm 27 now."

"Alright, Mr. Geto Suguru, reason for your arrival today?"

"I came here as a face of Japan"

"Face of Japan?"

"Yes, I survived by fate. So to help the others in need, I worked with the local helping teams. I'm well trained in doing the fund work. I used to work as a leader of National Public Support of Japan. So for greater help, the local people told me to come and join your team. I heard from them that you are a great leader. I'd be blessed if I get to work under you."

"Hmm. And you want me to hire you, based on your words only?"

"I have my reports and documents. Here", he offered you a file. You eyed the file and noticed the details. He was speaking the truth. While you were checking the file, you could feel that his eyes were pointed stright at you. Of course it was, almost everyone had the same reaction when they looked at you.

Those files didn't seem fake. You closed the file after you were done and handed it back to him.

"Not bad. But.." You leaned infront and kept your elbows pressed on your desk "I don't hire just by the past records. I need to see what you've got. So, you will be working a day with the jobs I assign for you. Hope that's okay for you?" You looked straight at his eyes. There was something in there which didn't go entirely with this external personality, you could easily tell.

A smile appeared on his face "Sure, I'd love to"

"Great. You may leave now and wait outside for your jobs for the day"

"Thank you"

"Don't be so thankful before you even get to know what you are going to be assigned with..hmm?", you grinned at him.

"Yeah sure, ma'am", he smiled back at you and left the office. He was capable. You could use him for your work but before that you needed to test his loyalty towards you for a few days or weeks.

You had a list for the jobs which were needed to be done, such as inspecting all the shelters and stop any of the illegal activity which some people did here and there recently. People, who wanted more than they were getting, committed small crimes like stealing and attacking. You hated all that nasty crimes. For you, those were so lame. And you needed to take control over all that. Someone had to take care of the crimes. So you decided to rest your rookie, basing on that.

Christmas was around the corner. Authorities had sent some special and extra supply for the people in needs. Your workers took care of it. Surprisingly, Geto Suguru did a great job in inspecting the crimes. He submitted his reports on the topic and it was well detailed than the average ones. He really seemed professional and skilled about the whole thing. But you hated giving credits to your new worker on the first day. So you just received the reports and told him to leave.

You could have given him a bit credit only if your mind wasn't messed with a lot of things. After getting the major part of asia under your control, you had to take in the islands around the continent. But it was big deal. To begin with the issue, your father didn't have much of the papers on the leader of those island. Moreover, she seemed really tough to deal with. You tried to work as a partner but she refused. You thought this would help you to prove the less co-operation skills in her to the authorities but they seemed not to care about such a small issue. Your personal team tried to spy around her area but she was really well at handling and controlling her territory. But you weren't someone to let such a small fry stop you from achieving what you deserved. So you were intrigued in making up plans on dragging her down at your office.

Your mood was just messed up as you didn't seem find something good enough. So you were frustrated. You leaned back on your chair and groaned in annoyance. "Ugh fuck this!" and put your legs on top your desk. You were working for so long and your eyes were hurting, so was your back. So you decided to take a break and walk for a bit outside of your office.

You did as you thought. You went outside of your office building and started to walk around fot bit, aimlessly. The surroundings were being taken care of yet those were a lot of damage to be fixed so early where huminity almost got doomed. Broken buildings fell around, only the roads were cleaned, to resume the journey and connections. You were looking everywhere but at the road. Your mind was fogged. Them normal people, who respected you, were waving at your was but you were definitely not in a mood to do the same. So you just smiled at them, not to mention, that was forced.

In the meantime of smiling, you looked side way and didn't notice the a few stones and parts which littered around. Your feet hit one or two of those and tripped. You were about to fall but a strong hand caught you from your behind by your waist. Your hand grabbed on that hand and you quickly looked back. It was your new rookie, Geto Suguru. He was looking down at you with his pretty fox eyes and a slight smile on his lips. Your eyes for once stopped at his. It didn't last a minute before you looked away but it felt like so long. You coughed and made yourself free from his grip.

"Be careful Ma'am, there are stones every where. If you don't be careful enough.." He leaned very slightly, "you might trip". It sounded more like a warning than an advice. What was that tone ! You were pissed.

"I don't remember giving you permission of talking to me in that tone." You fixed your cloths.

"Ah well I just spoke of your well being, sorry if that offended you." He apologized but you could still sense the mild sarcasm in his voice.

"Just go back to whatever you were doing." And you started walk away. Your mind was already fogged and this one thing made you feel even more disgusting. That new bie might give you hard times in future. You would have to take of it before hand.

There came the Christmas eve. With the help of the funds and other suppliments from the head authority, two of them destroyed buildings were finally fixed. One was a mart and another one was a small apartment, which would help people to get essentials and shelter. Those opened on the day of christmas. You, being they main figure, had to be presented in all the time, looking after the things you didn't want. But again, you needed to achieve as much faith as you could. So you kept up with everything.

It was late when you finished your works and finally relaxed on your seat. After staying silent, you decided to return to the apartment you chose for yourself to live in. You kept the files a side and took your house key. Then you left your office and started to walk across the small corridor. You were about to pass a room when some noises stopped you. Almost all of your workers left, your special team too. Also the room was a little conference room, which you used to discuss plans and tasks. Noone was supposed to be in there, at least not at that hour of night.

The noises were faint. So you brought yourself closer to the closed door and put your ear on it. With a bit of notice, you could hear that those noises sounded like whimpers and a few groans. It was strangely weird for you. Was someone fucking in there? But there? Really? Inside of your organised conference room? How dared them!?

You were getting furious again. It was so improper. Did some poor people break in? A lot of weird thoughts came in your head untill both of the voices started to sound a bit too familiar. But you could not actually catch it.

You couldn't just stand and listen to such nasty noises. So you decided to barge in. The door was fortunately unlocked and you pushed it open at once. What you saw was not something you expected at all.

Infront of you, you could see two very known humans. On the ground, there sat the only female employ of your special team, whom you actually trusted a lot. She was back facing you and was on her knees, naked. Her mouth was connected to someone's hard cock, sucking on it. And that someone was none other than, your new rookie, Geto Suguru. His pants were on the floor and last few buttons of his black shirt was opened, revealing his toned abs and defined v-line. You came back to your apartment with a bitter mind and a tired body. You just wanted to sink in your bed. You quickly freshen up and finally laid on the bed. Your body just thanked you for the long awaited rest. Your body wanted rest but your mind was racing. What you just saw before coming back, that scene could not leave your mind. You were disgusted but somewhere in my mind, you kept recalling the vulnerable look of Geto. It was really hot. - Hyundai Construction Equipment commits to help stopping illegal mining in the Amazon

Greenpeace East Asia released the Stop the Excavators report in April of this year, calling to heavy machinery manufacturers to take measures that prevent their equipment being used illegally, in ways that cause violations of human rights.

This exposé revealed that Hyundai Construction Equipment is apparently the favoured brand used in illegal mining in Indigenous Lands in the Amazon.

Hyundai has now announced a series of measures to protect the forest, and will act to prevent this in the future.

- ReconAfrica suspends oil drilling in Okavango Delta

The Canadian oil company ReconAfrica has stopped drilling in Namibia’s Okavango Delta, after it was faced with lawsuits and environmental concerns. For now, the drillings have only been suspended, but this is a step in the right direction, proving that people power can work wonders.

In 2019, ReconAfrica announced fracking in some of Africa's most sensitive (both in terms of water supplies and as livelihoods for the communities in the area) environmental areas. Namibian youth climate activists, indigenous, environmental and human rights groups have been working since then to prevent this from happening.

- ASEAN steps up commitment to end forced labour and human trafficking practices of migrant fishers

In May 2023, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) leaders officially adopted the first ASEAN Declaration on Migrant Fishers Protection in history. This declaration follows many years of active campaigning by human rights advocates and civil society organizations. The campaign aims to push stronger policies to protect Southeast Asian migrants working in fisheries and their rights.

This declaration emphasised that protecting and fulfilling the rights of migrant fishers is an entire migration cycle (recruitment, placement, and repatriation), and so is a shared responsibility among the ASEAN states.

- Local fishers and civil society join forces to reforest mangroves in Senegal

The local community in the traditional fishing town Joal in Senegal started reforesting mangroves in a show of what direct action is really about.

Joal is located near mangrove forests, that are essential breeding grounds for many fish species, and are vital therefore for the fishing communities in those areas. They also store more carbon than tropical forests, and are capable of curbing climate impacts such as floods.

- Dutch creative agencies choose to no longer work with fossil fuel companies

23+ creative agencies in The Netherlands put together a Fossil No Deal, stating that they will stop working with fossil companies and no longer encourage fossil passenger transport. They call it verdrag verantwoord verleiden, a treaty for responsible seduction.

- Thailand applies new PM2.5 ambient standard

In the beginning of June, the new PM2.5 ambient standard was officially applied in Thailand.

The new standard is now 15 μg/m3 for the annual standard and 37.5 μg/m3 for 24-hour standard, which is in keeping with the revised WHO air quality guidelines. This is a big step in the right direction to help reduce PM2.5 and solve air pollution in the country.

Greenpeace Thailand is still not at rest, though, and are continuing to fight to get the PM2.5 at its source, that is from the industries.

- In New Zealand, FSC abandons plans for ‘GE learning’ process

Greenpeace Aotearoa and other environmental organizations have been pressuring the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification scheme to abandon its plans for a ‘Genetic Engineering (GE) learning’ process.

The long-standing principle of not certifying GE trees came under threat after pressure from FSC certified plantation company Suzano from Brazil that has a subsidiary doing GE eucalyptus tree research trials (for glyphosate resistance).

- Citizens say yes to net zero emissions in Switzerland

Swiss citizens have voted in favour of a new law to reach net zero emissions by 2050. The new climate law, which was initiated seven years ago, passed a referendum with about 59% of the voters.

Net zero is now enshrined in the “federal law on climate protection, innovation and strengthening energy security“.

You had to say, dinner was going better than expected so far. Things were a little awkward with the language barrier, but Hobi was getting better at English by the day and you were happy to translate when needed, even if that did get a little tiring after a while.

Everything was going smoothly and your mom had kept her promise in not bringing up your little falling out... That was until you were all lounging on the sofas in the living room, all equipped with glasses of wine.

‘So.’ She spoke suddenly, swirling the liquid in her glass. ‘Have you two talked about moving in together yet?’ You groaned into your glass and rolled your eyes.

‘Mom please not now. We’ve all had a good night.’

‘I’m just curious who would be the one to move is all.’ She asked with a shrug, trying to act indifferent.

‘I’m not talking about this tonight.’ You slammed your glass down and got up to storm away, passing a confused Hoseok as you did. He must not have been following the last part of the conversation, since he was casting worried looks towards you as you moved.

You heard movement behind you as Hoseok politely excused himself and scurried after you. You made your way to the back of your home and onto your balcony, overlooking the city. You threw yourself down on one of the chairs, already feeling the chill of the night air. Rubbing at your bare arms, you tried to warm yourself up.

‘Hey, what happened?’ Hoseok gently pushed through the door and took one look at your shivering frame, before he slid off his jacket and draped it round your shoulders. You accepted with a grateful smile as he sat next to you at the small table.

‘ she bought up us living together , about who would be the one to move...’ You clutched his jacket tighter round yourself. His face fell slightly at this, knowing ultimately what this conversation wouldd lead to.

‘Oh..’ There was that awkward silence again.

‘Listen Hobi I’m not stupid. I know I would have to be the one to move countries.’ He looked up at you in shock, shaking his head vigorously as he was about to argue against your point, when you interrupted him.

‘You can’t exactly do your job here in the UK and flying back and forth every week isn’t really feasible either...' You joked, hoping to lighten the mood. He smiled sadly and nodded in agreement.

‘If I move to Korea I can still act. Do auditions remotely, maybe even start doing work in Korea.’ You said thoughtfully. Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to get an agent for work in Asia...

‘Are you sure that’s something you are ok with though?’ Hobi’s sceptical voice pulled you from your thoughts. He was giving you a perplexed look, almost as if he were begging you to think this through more.

‘Leaving your family and friends?’ He continued, shuffling to the edge of his seat and clasping his hands together. You smiled at his actions. It seemed like he was trying to convince you to stay more than anything, which only made you love him more.

‘It’s not like I’ll never see them again, plus I’ll make new friends in Korea too!’ Hoseok leaned back in his seat and rubbed the back of his neck, face still contorted into a deep frown. The sight of him like this made you pull back slightly, less enthusiastic then before.

‘Unless you don’t want to move in together?’ You were almost afraid to ask at this point.

‘No of course I do!’ He jumped up and placed his hand on your knee. ‘I just don’t want you to feel like you have to do that, like before....’

After that not very nice phone call you had two months ago, even though he acted like he was alright for your benefit, he still really wasn’t. He really needed advice for what to do in this situation and what better person to go to than his leader?

Jungkook and Taehyung would be useless, never really having a serious relationship up to this point. Jimin and jin would try to help, but they would probably provide something that was barely advice. And Yoongi would probably tell him to sort his won relationships out.

His sister was also an option... The perspective from another woman could really help, though he was afraid of her reaction and weather or not this would change her opinion of him. After battling with himself internally, he ultimately decided that his sister was the best option and gave her a call.

‘Hey Ji-woo, do you have time to meet up soon? I could really do with some advice.’

And so, Hobi found himself seated in a secluded corner of a small coffee shop, feeling small under his sisters gaze.

‘So you understand why I need help now?’ He spoke sheepishly, hands circling the warm cup sitting in front of him nervously.

‘Aish, and you really never noticed?’ She sighed.

‘She never said there was a problem until now...’ He trailed off, suddenly feeling sheepish. Ji-woo subtly rolled her eyes and sighed again, softly shaking her head.

‘You should have noticed the pattern before she bought it up. You’re telling me that you haven’t had a single bit of time off since you met to fly to her instead?’ Hobi was silent. He couldn’t say that. There had been a few times he’d had at least a week off, but still you were the one to fly. Thinking about it that way really put tings into perspective for him.

‘I just don’t know what to do from here.’ Ji-woo’s face softened as she took in her brothers vulnerable state. He was really distraught over this she could tell.

‘Well, you’re going over there soon right?’ She confirmed gently. ‘All I can suggest is just to listen to her more, ask what she wants to do rather than just assuming. Showing her you are willing to talk will go a long way, trust me.’ Hoseok nodded along as he listened carefully, thoughtful look on his face.

‘It sounds obvious when you say it like that.’ He shook his head with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

‘Listen, from what you’ve told me she seems amazing and I can’t wait to meet her. It just seems you both need to work on your communication a bit more.' Ji-woo smiled at her brother as she gave the best advice she could. She really meant what she said about you sounding great. She could only hope that were true and her brother wasn’t blinded by love. She would hate to see him heartbroken after everything he’s already been through.

Hearing reassurance from his sister was exactly what he needed. After hugging her and bidding goodbye, he was on his way back to the studio. He would have plenty to think about that night.

‘Hobi... This is what I want. I love you and I want to make being together easier.’ You spoke softly but with confidence so you could make him understand. You weren’t being forced into anything.

‘I love you too, and I can’t say I haven’t thought about us living together.’ A smile started to appear on his face.

‘So is this actually happening then?’ You were almost bouncing in your chair you were so excited.

‘Well there’s a lot we need to sort out but yeah I think it’s happening!’ Hoseok confirmed, equally as excited. You couldn’t contain yourself any longer. You sprang up and practically threw yourself onto him, lips smashing against his. Hoseok instantly reciprocated your kiss and placed his hands on your hips as you now sat on his lap. You pulled back and rested your forehead on his with a laugh.

‘I love you.’

‘I love you too.’ You took a deep breath before you stood up, suddenly becoming more aware of the cold.

‘C’mon, we should get inside before we catch a cold.’ He took your outstretched hand and allowed you to lead him inside. As you walked through the hallway, you noticed your mom still sitting in the living room, glass of wine freshly topped up. You stilled as you looked her over. Telling her now would be a lot easier rather than waiting and keeping her in the dark. Hobi released your hand and instead ran his fingers down your arms from behind in an attempt to keep you calm, knowing what you needed to do.

‘I’ll back you up, don’t worry jagi.’ He whispered in your ear. You shrugged off his jacket and handed it back to him before letting out a deep breath. You marched up and stood directly in front of your mom, causing her to look at you in surprise.

‘Y/N wha-‘

‘Mom I need to tell you something and I want you to just listen and not interrupt ok?’ She didn’t look happy but closed her mouth into a tight line as she nodded.

‘I’m just gonna say it. Me and Hoseok have decided to move in together, and I’m moving to Korea.’ You saw her eyes widen and her breathing increased, so you raised your hand to stop her.

‘Before you say anything it was my idea. Plus it’s not like it’s happening right away, there is a lot to discuss.’ You spoke quickly so you could get everything out without being cut off. Your mom just looked at you, flabbergasted that this was even a discussion.

‘Y/N, after what we talked about, you’re still dropping everything for him?’

‘If I may?’ Hoseok spoke in English, inserting himself into the conversation when he saw that your mom was about to get upset. He stepped forward and placed his hand on your lower back, silently warning you he may need your help if he couldn’t remember a word.

‘I love your daughter and I would never want her to do something she didn’t want.’ Your mother was surprised that he was speaking English so well, having not really talked to him all night. You interlocked your fingers with his as he spoke.

‘We are planning everything before the move and we will keep you updated if you want.’ He stuttered slightly on a few words, but managed to get his point across quite clearly. You nodded in agreement. The last thing you want is for your mom to be in the dark, so keeping her up to date with your plans was the least you could do.

‘Mom it’s like Hobi said. Nobody is forcing me into anything. All I want id for you to be happy for me.’ You both just stared at each other for a few moments, neither making the first move, until suddenly your mom stood up to stand in front of you. You stiffened, bracing yourself to receive a berating from her.... only it didn’t come. Instead, she pulled you into a tight hug.

‘Oh honey of course I’m happy for you if this is what you want!’ She truly did sound happy despite being slightly muffled by your shoulder. She pulled back and you couldn’t stop the surprised look, unsure how you had managed to convince her so fast. Without warning, she then also pulled Hoseok into a hug too. He relaxed significantly now that she seemed to have warmed up to him at least a little. She quickly jerked back from him and grasped his shoulders tightly, causing him to raise his eyebrows quizzically.

‘You look after her understand!? I’ll never forgive you if something happened to her.’ You watched the exchange between the two with a warm smile and quickly translated for Hoseok, just in case. Even though your mom may not have a filter, she always had your best interest in mind. She loved you. Honestly, she had nothing to worry about when it came to Hoseok. He would do anything to protect you.

Turns out, moving to a new country was easier said than done. It had also taken a lot longer than anticipated, what with sorting out any outstanding work you had and also talking with your current agent. Plus you had already found another potential agent in Korea who could handle work in Asia for you, so you were also juggling working things out with them too.

There was also the matter of your home and furniture. For now, you decided to keep your UK home just as a fall back which you hoped you wouldn’t need to ever use. The two of you decided it would make sense for you to move into Hoseok’s current home, rather than scrambling to try and find somewhere new when it wasn’t necessary. His apartment had more than enough space for the two of you, basically being a mansion labelled as an apartment, so the two of you would be able to live more than comfortably together.

Another reason things had taken so long, was because he was just about to start another tour when you both made the (impulsive lets be real) decision. You both agreed that it would make a lot more sense to wait until he would be back in Korea in October, rather than trying to move in alone.

To think. All this time, you and Hoseok had managed to keep your relationship a secret from the public. Only your close friends and the relevant people at his company knew, so maybe it was time for you to go public now you were moving in together.... You would need to have a serious discussion about it together to decide.

The first island chain forms one of three island chain doctrines within the island chain strategy in US foreign policy.[2]

Much of the first island chain is roughly situated in waters claimed by China.[3] These include the South China Sea, within the nine-dash line, as well as the East China Sea west of the Okinawa Trough.

US General Douglas MacArthur pointed out that before World War II, the US protected its western shores with a line of defense from Hawaii, Guam, to the Philippines. [...] The WW2 victory allowed the US to expand its line of defense further west to the coast of Asia, and thus the US controlled the first island chain.[4] Between the end of WW2 and the Korean War, MacArthur praised Taiwan, located at the midpoint of the first island chain, as an 'unsinkable aircraft carrier'.[5]

In April 2014, the United States Naval Institute (USNI) assessed that the first island chain is the most effective point to counter any Chinese invasion.[6] The US could not only cut off the People's Liberation Army Navy from entering the western Pacific, but also predict where they may move before trying to break through in the first place. The US and first chain countries are able to coordinate because of the US military's freedom of navigation in the first chain block.[7] In June 2019, USNI called for a blockade of the first island chain if armed conflict broke out between China and the United States.[6]

Andrew Krepinevich argued that an "archipelagic defense" of the countries that make up the first island chain would make up a big part of the implementation of the national defense strategy of 2018.[8] A 2019 report by the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments "proposes a U.S. military strategy of Maritime Pressure and a supporting joint operational concept, “Inside-Out” Defense, to stabilize the military balance in the Western Pacific and deny China the prospect of a successful fait accompli." The first island chain plays a central role in the report.[9] In 2020, the United States Marine Corps started shifting its tactics in conjunction with the United States Navy to be deployed along or near the first island chain.[10] In 2021, the United States Marine Corps announced a goal of three additional Pacific-based regiments.[11] [...]

Around 2009 Japanese military strategist Toshi Yoshihara and Naval War College professor James R. Holmes suggested the American military could exploit the geography of the first island chain to counter the People's Liberation Army Navy build-up.[10] The Cabinet of Japan has also passed defense white papers emphasizing the threat posed by the People's Liberation Army Navy in the first island chain.[13][14][15][16]

In the later years of the 2010s, Japan started deploying military assets to Yonaguni and its other islands to counter China's presence along that area of the first island chain.[17][18]

Japan's strategic position in the first island chain began with US-Japan joint efforts to counter Soviet expansion. The Japan Self-Defense Forces currently plays the role of protecting US military bases and preserving military strength in East Asia. As for Japan's Territorial Protection Self-Defense Forces, which mainly rely on islands in southern Japan adjacent to the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea, Japan has military advantages in anti-submarine, air defense and sea mine technologies.[19][...]

In the first island chain, Taiwan is considered of critical strategic importance.[21] It is located at the midpoint of the first chain and occupies a strategic position.[21]

The Second Island Chain can refer to two different interpretations, but the version most commonly used refers to the island chain which is formed by Japan's Bonin Islands and Volcano Islands, in addition to the Mariana Islands (most notably Guam, an unincorporated American overseas territory with a heavily fortified military base), western Caroline Islands (Yap and Palau), and extends to Western New Guinea.[1] The chain serves as the eastern maritime boundary of the Philippine Sea.

Turning the Red Dot Pink: Pink Dot and the Leveraging of Social Media in Conservative Singapore

Asian queers don’t have it easy: between conservative religious homophobia in places like Malaysia and Brunei, familial virtues overriding personal choice in East Asia, or imported evangelical “hide your gays” attitudes in Singapore, recognition and legalization of their basic existence are far off. In essence, the LGBT+ movements in Asia face immense pushback from authoritarian governments and conservative societies. In this context, alternative currents and media serve as an important vessel through which they may organise and mobilise. It was in this climate that Pink Dot, a Singaporean queer rights movement, was formed (Chen 2022).

Pink Dot, as originally formulated in 2009, started out as an event to protest the archaic Act 377A in Singapore’s constitution that criminalised same-sex relations. As discussed by Tan (2016, pp.984-985), the methods used in these gatherings were mainly symbolic and by-the-book for Singaporean society, with mainly gestures such as uniting into a pink dot and traditional placard activism methods. In recent years, Pink Dot has leveraged the unique factors of the online sphere such as its decreased regulations compared to physical campaigning in Singapore to further its reach (Wang 2016, pp.6-7).

Wang (2016) states that a majority of Pink Dot’s framing centred around the dissemination and dispersing on social media to ensure that the events that they held would be up to code with what was demanded by Singapore’s draconian organisation laws. In addition to this, in compliance with social distancing measures and the Stay-at-Home notices issued by the Singaporean government amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Pink Dot SG shifted online in 2020 and 2021, leveraging the online medium to create both a livestream and an immersive experience in which members of the queer community in Singapore were able to share their views, opinions, and stories in a safe and collective manner; creating perhaps the most immersive and community-centred iteration of Pink Dot yet (Teh 2022; Menon 2022). Alongside this, Pink Dot SG has run social media campaigns highlighting the discrimination faced by LGBT+ people in Singapore; in contradiction to statements from the Education Minister denying any discrimination or persecution (Lim 2019). This provides the queer community in Singapore a place where they may air their grievances to draw attention to their plights. In a conservative society such as Singapore, this fine balance of progressive discussion and appeals to social order allows movements like Pink Dot to manoeuvre these issues with relative safety and generate positive, productive discourse.

In 2022, the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, announced the repeal of Act 377A in Singapore, thus representing the first step in a long journey for the return of queer people’s basic rights in Singapore; due in no small part to movements like Pink Dot, successfully pressuring the government and shifting public perception in their favour. Pink Dot remains fighting for the rights and end to discrimination of Singapore’s LGBT+ population.

The K-pop girl group Blackpink is known as the biggest K-pop girl group in the world because of their success. Blackpink consists of 4 members namely Jennie, Lisa, rose, Jisoo. The girls came from different countries but debuted as a K-pop girl group under YG entertainment year 2016. Their debut song “Boombayah” currently has 1.5B views on YouTube. They were the first K-pop girl group to perform in Coachella and to reach YouTube 1b YouTube views on their songs now they’re the most-subscribed-to music group on the platform — as well as being the first girl group from any country to feature on Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 list.

In 2019, they broke three Guinness World Records with the single “Kill This Love”, which has had more than 312 million plays on Spotify and over 824 million YouTube views. They’ve been front-row fixtures at runway shows and the faces of mega brands including Chanel, Puma, Louis Vuitton and Dior. And all this with just a handful of songs in their repertoire. Every member is a global ambassador for a luxury brand. Jennie Kim also called "human Chanel”, she is an ambassador and a face of Chanel and other luxury brands. Lisa is a global brand ambassador for Celine and other luxury brands like Bulgari. Rose is also a global ambassador of YSL and other luxury brands. Lastly, Jisoo a Dior princess, is always the main event every fashion week. They also collaborated with some international artists like Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez, lady gaga, and Cardi B on their songs. All their songs always blew up because of the love and support of their fans (blinks). Blackpink became the biggest K-pop girl group because of their awards they have won 88 total of awards and 285 nominations in 7 years as a girl group. They also have the biggest crowd every world tour. Netflix also paired with BLACKPINK to air their 2020 documentary BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky — a look behind the scenes of the band's inner workings. For a peek into the (almost) off-duty personality of the band, look for "BLACKPINK 24 365" on YouTube. The program, a reference to a line from their song "Whistle," was set in a Big-Brother-type camera-outfitted house and was a hub where the bandmates lived during promotional periods surrounding new singles. These are only some of their success, and recently they became one of the top performers in the coming concert in Coachella. They are still ongoing concerts and on March 25-26 they will have a concert in the second biggest indoor arena in the world, the Philippine arena in Bulacan, Philippines.

Russian and Chinese bombers carry out joint patrols and trigger South Korean and Japanese jets

Russian and Chinese strategic bombers, including the Chinese long-range Tupolev Tu-95 "Bear" and H-6, conducted joint patrols over the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on November 30. South Korean and Japanese fighters were activated to accompany the bombers.

The South Korean military previously said they mobilized fighters when two Chinese and six Russian warplanes entered their air defense zone.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that "at certain stages of the route, the strategic missile carriers were accompanied by fighters from foreign countries". The Tu-95 were escorted on the route by Su-35 fighters.

“An air group composed of strategic missile carriers Tu-95MC of the Russian Aerospace Forces and strategic bombers XIAN H-6K of the PLA Air Force carried out air patrols over the waters of the seas of Japan and East China,” the ministry said.

He said that Russian and Chinese aircraft “act strictly in accordance with the provisions of international law” and that no foreign airspace has been violated.

“For the first time in the history of air patrolling, Russian aircraft landed at an airfield in the People's Republic of China and Chinese planes landed at an airfield in the territory of the Russian Federation,” the ministry said.

The Chinese Ministry of Defense described Wednesday's patrols as part of the "routine" of an annual cooperation plan between the two military personnel. Chinese and Russian bombers carried out joint patrols in the same area in 2019, 2020, 2021 and in May of this year, when President Joe Biden met in Japan with leaders of Quad, a multilateral grouping seen as an effort to contain China's growing influence.

The Tupolev Tu-95, known by NATO as "Bear", along with the Tu-160, is the backbone of Russia's long-range airborne nuclear forces. It was designed to launch nuclear bombs in the United States in the Cold War.

mitski released her fourth album, puberty 2, on june 17th 2016. this was her first album to be released under her new label, dead oceans, so she could afford to tour in more places, such as asia and australia

by the time she finished her australia shows, it was the holiday season and air fares had gone up. mitski opted to go to malaysia while waiting for ticket prices to go down. she thought it would be a good way for her to unwind as it was one of the countries she grew up in as a child.

unfortunately she felt lonely because she was "all alone in a country where no one knows me". this inspired her to start writing "nobody", which fittingly opens with the iconic line "my god, i'm so lonely".

after the release of be the cowboy, mitski returned to kuala lumpur to tour. "i walked to suria klcc and bought a toy piano from toys ‘r’ us. i wrote 'nobody' on a toy piano with two octaves on it, so that song is for you,” she told the audience. (note: suria klcc is a shopping mall and klcc stands for kuala lumpur city centre)

"I wanted to write a four-on-the-floor dance track, because I like dancing. And there’s something about being so hopelessly lonely that you’re like 'all I can really do is dance. There’s nothing else I can do,'" Mitski said when asked if she had always written it as a disco song.

F1 planning to split race schedule into regionalised calendar

Formula One has confirmed its commitment to introducing a regionalised calendar in future seasons. As part of its goal of reaching net zero carbon by 2030 the sport will attempt to rationalise a calendar that is currently inefficient and detrimental in its environmental impact. In 2019 F1 committed to reaching net zero and has been adopting new practices to fulfil its target. The sport published its report into the progress made on sustainability, diversity and inclusion on Tuesday. The report catalogues F1’s actions including introducing remote broadcasting operations, redesigning freight containers enabling the use of more efficient aeroplanes and using 100% renewable energy in the sport’s offices. Japan is followed by Qatar and then the US GP and at the end of the season, Las Vegas is followed by Abu Dhabi. The report confirmed that “planning for a future calendar regionalisation was under way”. It is expected the new schedule would see the sport compete in four regions, each hosting its own “season” comprised of the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and east Asia/Australia. The plans will likely be welcomed by the teams as they entail a cost saving in freight fees and will reduce travel for personnel during a lengthy season. There is, however, no timeline as yet for its implementation. It will take time, likely several years as F1 requires existing contracts, which specify the time of year meetings are held, to end. There will also be negotiations required around races such as Abu Dhabi which pays a premium to be the last GP of the season. The report also said F1 was on course to meet its target of using 100% carbon neutral, sustainable fuel by 2026 when the new engine regulations are applied. This year cars are using a fuel with a 10% sustainable ethanol element. By 2026 the intent is to be running them on a 100% synthetic fuel, which is currently being developed. The fuel will be designed to work in road cars and neutral in that the process used to produce it would be carbon negative to offset the carbon produced by its use in an engine. I have a thing to tell ,

So like one night I saw a handprint on my mesh that covers the window. The mesh is really dirty and only if a person kept their hand real hard, would get their hand printed on it. I kept my hand over it and it seemed like a female hand

I asked my maid if she cleaned my room the day before and she said yes. But , she is really of smol height but the handprint was way up top of the mesh. Also I didnt think she could have her hand printed on there because it required immense strength .

I didnt believe that it was done by my maid and sat on my bed looking at the mirror for some time.( I am not a clairvoyant or I dont have any speacial psychic gifts. But from my childhood I am very much interested in spiritual things and have experienced quite a few paranormal things.) So as i was sitting on my bed , confused, when suddenly I had a voice in my head , like some lade was talking to me . It felt like a Victorian lady of some English origin and I assumed it was her handprint.(I live in Asia, so I didnt believe in some English ghost coming to my house ) and dude to this fact , I thought that this lady was my mind playing tricks, so the convo went like this

Me- hello , why have u com

She- I was killed for stealing food bcoz i was hungry

Me- don worry , even in my state there was a case of murder where a young tribal boy was killed for stealing food bcoz he was hungry. (THIS CASE TOOK PLACE IN 2019 and now its 2022)

( I didnt feel comfortable , so I said goodbye to her and I slept)

The next day , at night I saw the news of the same young boy who got murders after 3 yrs . ( literally his news wasn't aired for the 3 yrs and it was at this day I saw his news)

This shit freaked me out and I went to sleep with mom.

At that time too this lady popped in my head and said rude words like

' YOU SAID U WOULD HELP ME , WHY ARENT U HELPPPINGG MEEEEE FCK , HELP I WANNA TALK'

So I straight up forward said I am not interested pls leave goodbye

The next day I washed the mesh with water to remove the handprint and now I am calm

Do u think this is mind play or something , i still struggle to believe its my maid other than that ghost

Global Net-Zero Transition Benefits Could Be Five Times Higher Than Developing Asia's Costs

Agile Advisors as a Net Zero Carbon, achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions globally can have significant positive effects on the economy and society. A recent Asian Development Bank (ADB) analysis suggests that these advantages could be five times the mitigation price for emerging Asia. The April release of the Asian Development Outlook Thematic Report: Asia in the Global Transition to Net Zero states that specific policy reforms can achieve advantages, including avoiding economic losses due to climate change and increased health due to cleaner air. Before even considering the advantages to the climate or air quality, the costs to the region would be roughly 1% of GDP yearly in a scenario where everyone works together immediately to reduce warming to far below two °C, per the Paris Agreement. “We need to adopt economically efficient approaches, like carbon pricing, to make climate policy pay off," stated Albert Park, Chief Economist at the ADB.
