“Agatha, can you help me with somethin’?”, the smaller Faerai called out, flittering about as he stared at the older woman. Perched atop a tree branch, Agatha herself seemed busy reading a book, not even paying the slightest attention to Pan. The youngling frowned a bit. Perhaps Agatha simply didn’t hear him. floating ever so slightly towards Agatha, Pan waited until he was right next to Agatha before letting out a loud and resound “BOO!” Agatha let out a soft gasp, nearly dropping her book as she fumbled with it a bit. Scrambling to get it back before letting out a huff and glaring at Pan. “Please don’t do that, I was just getting into this fine novel.” Pan merely stared for a second before sticking out his tongue a bit. “C’mon, Agatha, there’s no fun to be had in a bunch of dusty old pages! I need your help anyway”, Peter chirped.

“Ah, right...” Agatha said, her eyes looking to the side, if only for a moment, “what exactly do you need from me, Peter?” Peter only widened his smile a bit. “Nothing much, but it’s a surprise too. You’ll see when we get there”, the Faerai chimed in a sing song voice. Agatha let out a sigh, there was no helping it. When Pan wanted something, nothing would deter him. Beyond his short attention span switching to something else. Agatha only hoped this would be a short trip. “Very well. But could we be quick about it? I would like to return to my book”, the woman murmured. Slowly floating ahead of Pan. The child had a confused look on his face. Agatha was always looking for excuses to do anything with him. This train of thought didn’t last long, dreams of mischief and adventure running rampant in his mind as he flittered off with Agatha. So distracted by day dreaming, he didn’t notice, if only for a moment. That Agatha’s once soft, round and kind face became sharper, colder, her warm teal eyes replaced with a ghastly, unfeeling yellow.

Sylvia approaches Agatha with a big curiosity. "Hey, ma'am! How's the event so far? I've been curious, what the experience with humans? I have an experience with one and he was really kind to me."

Agatha noticed the Sylveon well before she was in range, and curiously watched her draw closer and closer.

“Hello there! Well, I’ve only just arrived,” she tilted her head from side to side as she came up with her words, “but it’s been good so far.”

Agatha paused to think, then added on.

“I know not all humans are bad. But I simply haven’t had enough direct experience with them, is all. And they don’t seem to react kindly to Darkrai. Keeping a distance feels like a less troublesome option.”

She regarded Sylvia- this one had human-like anatomy. Anthros were also a rarity in her universe, and so Agatha was intrigued. She looked to the shore once more.

“Have you talked to any of the humans on shore? What do you think of them?”

(asktheisle) Oscar wades into the water, waving down Agatha. He gets close enough that he could be heard over the waves-which weren't too active at this time at least-but still far enough to give a respectable distance as he smiled in her direction.

"Why hello again! It's nice of you to stop by. I hope you weren't planning to spend all evening out here by yourself. I'm sure you spend a lot of time in the water as it is, ahah!"

It was reassuring in a sense to see a Darkrai come from the populated beach, into the water. As Oscar drew closer, Agatha slowly recognized him by his face and the telltale symbol on his worn spikes. The same symbol that was on the invitation?

“Oh, hello! Oh it’s nice seeing you again!”

It’d felt like ages had passed since she talked to Oscar on this beach during the last Magi visit. Honestly she wasn’t entirely sure how much time had passed in this world. Had it been a year? A few years? Decades? What was his name again?

She smiled and wove an arm under the surface, lighting it up in bioluminescence. She didn’t think that in itself it would be a surprise to him, but the action was moreso to clarify what she enjoyed about it. Agatha was no stranger to bioluminescence in the Deep either, but she appreciated the differences between that and of what they floated in now.

“And what are you up to over there, do you live here? Your marking looks like one from the invitation-“ Agatha gestured towards the center of her coral collar, adjacent to where Oscar’s marking laid. She did recognize the marking from their first meeting, but it’d been her first time seeing it in the context of a larger group or event. “Though I might be mistaken. I forgot to surface before I opened it, so it...”

The elderly mermaid twiddled her claws in the air to simulate dispersing paper, and chuckled.

“I tried to mark my collar when I was younger, but it doesn’t feel good, so I haven’t bothered with that in a long time.”

Just want to say thank you to everyone who follows this blog, and really everyone who interacts with me. I know when I first joined pokeask, one of the biggest things I felt like I had been missing in general was that community-feeling. Even getting a handful of notes when I first joined was one of those wOW!!! wOAH!!! Moments for me

So thank you everyone, I’m a bit behind on things art-wise but I’m still planning on doing a design giveaway at some point! Unless I decide on trying something different, otherwise that’ll be the plan <3

Agatha: “Ah we’ve all come here before. Makes it easier to find again, having done so leaves an “energy footprint” of sorts. At least when one of our own moves between this world and ours.”

“Aside that, these two wanted me to meet the Magi.”

“They each recieved a gift in the past. So I decided to visit myself.”

Fenellope: She squints at Soven’s shirt, before letting out a snort. Bubbles erupted from the water, while the other two merfolk looked to her. She lifted her head fully above the surface.

“I like your shirt,” she snickered.

Agatha felt a gentle tap on her back, and turned around to see Esva holding her pearl headpiece. She hadn’t noticed her headpiece slipped off at all, and wondered how she missed it.

Agatha: “It’s about time we head back, don’t you think? Best not to make the others worry.”

Agatha slipped her headpiece back into her hair, taking care to ensure it was secure this time. This certainly wasn’t the first time this had happened.

Fen took another look around.

Fenellope: “We should go to the other side of the island next time. I haven’t seen some spots over there yet.”

Agatha: “I suppose we could do that. Depends on how my conversation with Guinevere and the others will go, as well. We’ll see if I can go with you next time you head out.”

The coral-spiked rai’ secured her new sash over her torso, her claw glazing over the seaweed decorations.

Esva: “It’s very odd seeing humans here.”

Esva looked to the shore one last time, as if hoping to catch a glimpse of another before they left.

Agatha: “Not the same as seeing their dreams, or nightmares, is it. They’re very much around, so best be careful.”

Agatha was first to sink below the waves, still adjusting her things in doing so. Esva and Fen followed her bubbles, and fully submerged as well.

As the two smaller faerai went ahead, Agatha hovered above and followed them from behind, keeping an eye out as they begun their descent.

One by one, they disappeared into the darkness below.

Agatha, Fenellope, and Esva have left the Magi Event.

Several weeks later, at another lake.

Fen turns her attention to a particular area among the swaying plants, and digs up an odd orb. Pleased to find it still hidden in the same spot, she takes it with them.

The two merfolk shift forms upon leaving the lake, and leave a trail of dripping water behind them as they rush into the main building’s sleeping quarters.

Fen and Esva have arrived at the Pokefox Festival and are Available for Asks!

(asktheisle) Oscar waves to Agatha before approaching, keeping an eye on Luxu as he played around nearby. "Well it's certainly nice to see someone else here that seems to be under the same circumstances that I am! My name is Oscar, I take it you're trying to enjoy the scenery as well, right?"

This was the first time I specifically made 3D models for drawing purposes, so this was very experimental and I hope they integrated well!! I’ll be playing around with this sort of thing with future ask responses too, especially since I have some basic trees (mostly) ready for use. I probably won’t have a 3D background for every single thing I make so it’ll change from time to time.

(I’m trying to figure out resolution issues on my blog. It looks so blurry unless you’re looking from the dashboard, and it makes me mad)
