Meet the maker!!! Hi! I'm Acorn Tops! I work with the fairies to make fairy and scented creations to enchant your world and bring magic into your everyday, from fairy doors to scented bookmarks! Acorn Tops is a handmade business born of roots and wings! My logo is a picture that was a gift from my grandmother's Sunday school teacher in the 30's and hung in every bedroom of every house she ever lived. She gave it to me and it hangs in my bedroom, too. It was the inspiration for my fairy doors, which I carve using my grandfather's carving tools. Along with selling on Etsy, you can also find my handmade creations at local events (this pic was my booth from @paganpridela 2022)! #tccpfebchallenge #thecraftycrafterspagechallenge @thecraftycrafterspage #thecraftycrafterspage #paganpridelaoc #fairymagic #fairiesofinstagram #magicofinstagram #magicmaker #fairycore #cottagecore #scentedbookmarks #fairydecor #fairydoors #craftbizparty #crafterslife #rootsandwings #acorntops #aromatherapy #aromatherapypillows #fairypillows #gardendecor #gardensofinstagram #fairygardendecor #fairygardensofinstagram #readingaromatherapy #readersofinstagram #readingaccessories #bookgifts https://www.instagram.com/p/CoIZUvRvvSR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

acorntops replied to your post “so, out of nowhere: what are people’s favourite fantasy novels”
I'm currently reading Descendant by Toni Kerr. It's pretty good. It has dragons, fairies, secret societies. So far it's really good. The main character sort of has a hint of a crush, but I'm glad the author doesn't really delve into romance. I really enjoyed Barbara Lieberman's story Dragonmarsh in A Horde of Dragons Anthology. She's rereleasing it on it's own sometime this year.
Dragons are definitely a charm. I haven’t heard of either of these, I’ll give them a look!

Descendant by Toni Kerr is good for keeping attention. It is not too wordy and the chapters are short and action-pact which helps. Plus, it's the first in a series, so if you like it, there's more to enjoy. It features dragons, destinies, fairies, secret societies, and more!
(you also said some other stuff and ive WRITTEN IT DOWN!!!)
thank you so much!!! the books by Ellie Hart sound really interesting, plus the rest you reccommended!! And you’re right, short stories might be the way to go for a while :p Cry on Hallows Eve sounds right up my alley, thank you soooo much for taking the time to give me some recs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have taken them to heart <3

I was tagged by @fereldanwench, thank you :)
I’ll tag: @penwarrior11 @needlesslycryptic @sidnyx @kiramartinauthor @ariakitty @deliriumcrow @iamthemagicks @opal-bee @dawnofakatosh @the-space-enby @forthelulzy and anyone else who wants to do this!
1. What is the favourite item of clothing you own? currently, a head scarf I bought in a cute shop in Massachusetts. I need it to cover my increasingly untamable hair and intermittent eczema on my hairline. it can be a narrow band of scrunched fabric or expand to cover my entire crown.
as a more consistent favorite, my PhD university’s oversized hoodie. Not all hoodies are created equal. This one stands out as the most comfy I’ve ever owned.
2. Tell me about the first time you watched your favourite movie? My favorite movie... going by the fact that I broke the VHS of it, I’ll say it’s Jurassic Park. I was 11 when the film came out, and because by then I’d read the book at least once I knew I probably would be scared by the movie. My first glimpse of the film was me walking through a cinema to see a different movie - it was one of those cinemas with small windows on the theater doors. As I was walking I heard roars and stuff and saw what the film was - JP. And the small window pointed right to the screen. What scene was it, you might wonder. Naturally, it was the one where the lawyer gets eaten on the toilet. This only cemented my decision to not see it in the cinema, so I waited until the movie was on VHS. I can’t remember the first time I watched it, but I was so obsessed with the movie that I started to learn the lines. The VHS started to become streaky. By then I’d probably read JP twice (because I know I’ve read it three times), so I was probably comparing book to movie. I started to watch every movie those actors were ever in. Other than “Willow” and “Herc/Xena”, JP was one of my earliest fandoms.
But I do remember the first and only time I saw JP on the big screen.
It was not all that long ago. I saw it in 3D.
I cried.
read the rest under the cut...
3. What was the last book you finished? "Love in the Middle” which was rec’d to me by @acorntops . It was pretty cute and written with a specific purpose, which I like. I was able to read it as a free trial to Amazon Kindle which I won’t ever own for DRM reasons.
Before this, I read “The Power” (Alderman) which was very good and I highly recommend it.
4. What is the next book you want to read? I have started so many but I’m not “feeling” them right now. I haven’t read nearly enough lately, except for nonfiction things I read for project research. But I own these now and will read them eventually:
Oryx & Crake - Atwood (started)Year One - Nora RobertsThe Hours - Cunningham (started)1/2986 - WendebergDragon Teeth - CrichtonBig Fish - Wallace (started)
5. When is your birthday, and what do you want for it this year? (If your birthday has already happened this year, did you get what you had your heart set on?) December 7, and I want a job.
6. If you were given one month and $10,000, where would you travel to? I’ve already traveled and have no savings so thanks but I’ll stuff that money so far into a CD I won’t see it until I’ve a glorious silver mane.
7. Cake or pie? pie
8. Name 3 things you think you’re really good at.
Editing html
Learning languages (including but not limited to code)
Writing, apparently
So, basically..... I’m really good at language.
9. Name 3 things you’d like to be better at.
Actually Doing Things
Creative writing
drawing
10. Name 3 far-fetched dreams you’d like to do someday.
publish a novel
actually use my PhD for something with a paycheck
travel to the deep past of the Swabian Alps some 40,000 years ago and never come back
11. If you had to dye your hair, what colour would you dye it? auburn, hands down.

I REALLY enjoy Cinder by Marissa Meyer! I actually love the main character and her love interest, which never happens lmao

Anything by Barbara Lieberman is great! I'd reccomend To Miss The Stars to start with. It's not cheesy. It is beautifully written with a heck of a twist.
Oooh, thank you very much. Shall check those out too and have a snoop around online!
