So I watched that video on youtube "It's all about Ruby" where they explain why ruby is probably the cause of all the supernatural stuff and i dont know why i didnt think of that earlier.

I didn't see anyone talk about it here so i just wanted to point out the times when ruby imply that she is the one being guided every time she gains some kind of succes in her career.

and almost always whenever crows appear ruby is there almost like they're connected to her. And they actually guide her.

so the theory that since this town worships amenouzume (the goddes of art, deity off fulfilled wishes.) its probably the fact that sarina prayed to become an idol and died before it could be fulfilled that she was listened and eventually reborn (mind you, she wasn’t reborn for 4 years and just waited till ai will give birth, in contrast to aqua who convieniently died the same night. Why would they give ai's child the soul of a girl already dead for 4 years if she wouldn't be connected.) as ai's child with aqua there with her as 'the only other person she loved'.

That's what the theory says and im inclined to agree. after all, the crow girl says herself that ruby is fulfilling her role amazingly meanwhile aqua still has to think about it.

(But what is ruby doing different than aqua? They both try to get to their father. Unless, ruby being popular is an important factor.)

Let me just point out as well that shes basically saying ai's death or rather the hope of her reincarnation is the factor that would stop them from achievening their goal or purpose, so we can say ai's death was a very important factor in whatever happened and, maybe, just as goro's death to ruby, was supposed to drive them to change their behavior. It's already something we could assume but the question is what role did crow girl played in ai's death and why she choose not to reincarnate her. Bc It's like she's saying aqua can't hope for ai to live a happy life since it distracts him from his destiny, because then he would rest, and he still doesn't do what he's supposed to.

Personally, I think there is a big missing piece of puzzle we still dont know, either in ruby's past with the gods or ai's secret we haven't came to know, that is the cause of it all. But surely all those things contributed majorly as well, after all ruby is more important to the plot than some people might think bc of her absence.

Oh and someone also noticed the mention of amaterasu (connected to amenouzume)

Sooooo, today, OP went on a field trip...

A field trip to Eastern Washington University to showcase a science project. There is an organization called MESA (Math, Engineering, Science, Achievenent) and most schools across America have a science class dedicated to it. Among many other fun activities, a MESA class gets to prepare for a competition which involves showcasing a project made to improve the lives of people facing inequality of some sorts.

Each project involves a team of one to four members working on it. And among all the groups in all the classes in all the grade levels in all the middle/high schools in all of Spokane...

☆MY TEAM GOT 2ND PLACE☆

(We actually WANTED 2nd 'cuz 1st has to go to state and travel and continue doing competition stuff and- Lots of work I don't wanna do. Ironically, my team member said, before they announced winners, "I hope we get 2nd.")

For those curious, our project was a motorized walker thingy to help people with physical impairments.

It was funny 'cuz we actually have a third member who has done jack shit to help, only joined our group like two months ago, and didn't even go on the field trip! Imagine being that kid, the next day at school, knowing you didn't help/care, and assuming that the whole thing was no big deal and then-

"Hey!! We won second place!! Here is your medal, ear buds, portable charger, and speaker! Thanks for NOTHING!!!" :D

Besides the winning, I had a great time. I got to see old friends and teachers, and get lots of merchandise! (There was a fair, convention sorta thing going on in the building, so I got lots of free stuff!!) Here is all the things I got on the field trip:

Cultural Self Study Entry 2

The effect that culture has on an individuals psycholgical proccessing is something that has helped me make understanding of some of the expereinces I have had with individuals from different cultures. When I was in high school their was an international student from China with whom I shared many of my classes with. Although him and I were similar in many ways including our academic capabilities he was able to understand many of the concepts within our calculus class much quicker than I was able to even though math was a strong suite of mine. It wasn’t until I learned about the concept of univerals that I understood why he was able to understand the concepts with such ease. See me and my friend from china we had a nonuniversal between both our cultures. This nonunviersal was a cultural invention known as abuscus reasoning which is commonly used within his culture to help understand mathematical functions. I was never introduced to abuscus reasoning as it is something that is not commonly used within my culture. Therefore, I didn't have the same psychological proccess that my friend from china had when it came to the way that he thought about solving the problems. Furthermore, this nonuniversal is not the only universal that differed between our cultures. There is a existential universal that exists between our cultures that  I didn’t understand or notice until I learned about univerals. This has to do with the way we went about perciving and appreciating personal and group achievement. To illustrate, whenever I had recieved a good grade on an assessment I was motivated to continue to do well and work hard with the opposite being true when I found myself recieving a mark that was bad or below my personal standards. On the other hand, whenever I had asked the international student from china how he felt after recieving a good grade his response differed from mine in that he felt less motivated to work hard with the opposite being true whenever he had recieved a poorer grade. These differences in thinking and psychological proccesses are due to the different cultures from which we originate. My culture values personal achievenment and individual success whereas his culture values group achievement and group success. Therefore, whenever I recieved a poor mark I viewed it as a personal failure whereas the international student did not view it as a personal failure as he was taught to value group success more so than his own personal success.

So this is just something of a rant while my other posts are slow-cooking in the pot, but...

I think saying that Raya and the Last Dragon should have been a series is like saying an epic poem should have been a novel.

I don't mean that one can't prefer novels. (I prefer novels and read hardly any poetry). And I don't mean that the world, its characters, and their stories wouldn't make a good novel.

(Editing belatedly to add: I also don’t mean to discourage discussions about how the movie could be done differently as a series. It’s another great way to share our thoughts on something we’re fans of. And it shows how creative works can inspire our own creativeness.)

What I mean is that it feels like people are pointing at an epic poem and saying, "This novel is too short and needs more fleshing out," while its finer qualities as a poem go underappreciated.

This film’s storytelling is a lot more substantial and sophisticated than it tends to get credit for. And I think that's because people expect it to speak like a novel when it speaks more like a poem.

Much of its language is coded—highly visual (and musical too), compact and layered, metaphorical and subtle. It relies on a dense network of repeated and overlapping images and motifs to carry much of its meaning.

And it asks for a lot of interpretive work (and curious and open engagement) from its viewers to learn what it says beyond a surface-layer action adventure story that can be enjoyed without too much effort.

All of this is just to say, I'm very glad they made Raya and the Last Dragon as a movie because I find it a fantastic work of storytelling.

FUCK whoever decided that Everyone Has To Do Dungones and Raids to unlock anything in modern wow

like seriously. i was fine with just getting exalted with the appropriate faction like literally all the other allied races before them (even if they decided to make the dark iron scenario involve a dungeon but not the horde equivalent race)

but making us do a long complicated quest that involves EVERY. SINGLE. DUNGEON AND RAID in your faction’s zones from prior to 8.1 is fucking RIDICULOUS

i’ve been wanting to make a kul tiran druid since literally the day i found out they could be druids, and this honestly fucking killed any enjoyment i’ve got for them because they’re locked behind doing something i’m honestly TERRIFIED of doing

like, i know this sounds like a dumb issue but it’s really sucky that whoever’s in charge of these sorts of things seems to think that the only way to play wow is doing fucking heroics and mythics, fuck everyone else

they did this exact same garbage last expansion. you had to run a raid to continue the nightborne storyline, and almost all the classes had to run at least one or two dungeons to complete their order hall storylines, both of which were required to get legion flying, when in warlords when they introduced pathfinder the most you had to do was maybe group up to complete some of the dailies and get rep for a specific faction because the assoicated areas were full of elites. and before THAT all you had to do was pony up enough gold to a flight trainer to unlock flying for that area.

and ALSO in legion they had the extra garbage of making you do dungeons for every single crafting profession. not in the “get rare ingredients” sense, but in the “to get a better version of this thing you have to complete a quest that requires you to run a dungeon to Get A Quest Object” sense. 

this really isn’t fun for people who are super casual and just want to play as a spooky skull bear druid or fly! i thought wow was supposed to be a super casual mmo, why are they trying to make it so that EVERYONE has to fit a very specific player mold to get even 

the super casuals who don’t like doing group stuff won’t have fun, and the hardcore people who eat breath and shit dungeons and raids DEFINITELY won’t have fun because they’ll have to spend extra time teaching the newbies how to do their roles and such instead of Killing the Thing as fast as possible

#like i feel this is partially because there's a very vocal subset of players #who kick and scream whenever casual players are able to enjoy parts of the game w/o stepping foot inside mythics #because they tie their self-worth in wow to how hardcore they are and how that makes them objectively better #and blizz is deciding to listen to these asswipes #and partially because i think one of the devs actually thinks that the only way to play is hardcore raiding and dungeoneering #because that's how they play #also i say 'teaching' but lbh unless you're in a super active and friendly guild #you're probably gonna pug it #and pugs have a reputation as being cesspools of toxicity #they're 1000% more likely to throw slurs at you and kick you for not having the right raider.io score and achievenments #than to help newbies #world of whinecraft

Afton family headcanons

Even if we are talking about William here, Mrs.Afton was a lot more scary and had actual power in this household. William himself feared her when she was angry.

Henry wasn't relating to them by blood, BUT Afton's kid were treating his as uncle and same goes for Will towards Henry kids.

That one time Elizabeth saw Michael learning how to kiss with the pillow and took a picture of it.

Since this time, when she wants something she knows how to convince Michael.

I feel like Evan (C.C will be called like that there) would be real good at chess, but i mean real good. Everybody would loose to him.

Elizabeth one time painted Evan's and Michael's nice and now the boys started to do it every week.

Elizabeth's nails invention catched a few girls attention for Michael. He is for sude grateful.

William would be that type of parent that would brag about his kids achievenents ar every possible occasion.

Every single of Afton kids definitely stayed a lot in school after hours. William for sure had tendency to forget about when pick up the kids.

Elizabeth was a favourite child, thats a fact.

Paying younger siblings to do your homework? - that's exactly what Michael used to do.

If Mrs. Afton was ever mad at anybody at house, she wasn't shouting or doing agressive movements. She was just using a silence treatment. This method was working like a miracle. Everyone feared when this woman was silent.

Michael was a mommy's boy, definitely. Asking her for advices or helping her out as much as he could.

Evan had that one hole in the wall, through which he could see inside of Michaels room. Sometimes was peeking through it out of pure curiosity, but once Michael noticed it, then Evan got scared for life.

That one time Michael "lend" movies from local store for him and his siblings.

Everything was fine until the shop manager called William and said that his son stole 3 CDs.

Michael mastered avoiding punishment from their father.

Elizabeth did too, but she had more privilage.

Evan always wanted to be like Michael, so brave and amazing (of course in his eyes).

One time when Mike was out, Evan got to his room and started trying on his clothes and trying to act like him in the mirror.

Mrs. Afton loved every child equally.

When William was too busy, Henry was always taking kids on a ride. Too some park or forest, lake. They had the most fun.

Mrs. Afton was a proffesional ballet dancer.

Naturally after that Elizabeth was signed to dance lessons since she remember.
