Oooo I have a little question since we've been talking on the Halloween polycule for a bit together.

Would the Halloween poly dress up in matching Halloween costumes? if so, what would they dress up as? If not, who's dressing up as what? :3

Ooh, that’s a fun question! I’ll compile some of my thoughts into a snippet of this scenario, since I think that’ll be easier.

On the morning of Halloween, Veronika walked into the living room and immediately made a beeline for her two housemates, who were both sitting on the couch.

“Arturo, Acey, have I ever mentioned how much I love you?” She asked, plopping down in the middle of couch in between them.

“We’ve talked about that nickname.” Ace grumbled, glaring. Her flattery hadn’t worked as well as she’d hoped.

Arturo sighed. “What do you want, Veronika? It’s clear you’re up to something.”

“Weeeeelllll, I was thinking we could wear matching costumes for Halloween this year!” Veronika exclaimed, “We could—”

“No.” Both Arturo and Ace answered at the same time, not even letting her finish.

“I’m not dressing up for Halloween, Veronika, that’s an activity for children.” Arturo said. Ace nodded in agreement.

“Oh, okay.” Veronika answered sadly. “But we have to do something for Halloween, if we’re not doing that. We always watch Arturo’s favorite reality TV shows when he asks, so I should get to do something for this!” She reasoned. A wide grin spread across his face. “Then again, I suppose I could settle for a different Halloween activity. We could always watch a scary movie, or visit haunted houses, or—”

“NO!” Ace screeched, covering her mouth with his hands. He tried to recover his dignity afterwards (and did not succeed), clearing his throat and saying, “I-I mean, I like the costumes idea better.”

“Yay!” Veronika exclaimed, giving him a quick hug before turning to Arturo. “Pleeeeease can you do it with us? It’ll be fun!”

Arturo pinched the bridge of his nose between his fingers, silent for a moment before letting out a long sigh. “…Fine.”

“Yay! I already have our costumes picked out, and all the makeup we’ll need, and—” Veronika immediately started rambling, clapping her hands together and bouncing up and down slightly as she explained her plan to them.

Despite the fact they were beginning to regret this already, the other two had to admit it was nice seeing her so happy.

So yeah. Long story short Ace and Arturo don’t want to dress up, but Veronika convinces them in the end. Here are a few other headcanons and such:

-I’m not sure what their costumes should be, which is ironic because that’s the one question you wanted an answer to. Maybe they could do something fun with classic Disney villains or something. Arturo is Cruella, Veronika is Ursula, and Ace is the Queen of Hearts. Or something like that. I’d love to hear other people’s ideas!

-Arturo insists on taking many photos, since he figures putting so much effort into your appearance and then not showing anybody would be a waste.

-Arturo may be good at conventional makeup, but Veronika far exceeds him in the scary makeup department. Thus, she’s the one to do all the makeup for their costumes.

-Veronika wants to watch a Halloween movie, but Ace is against anything too scary, so they compromise and watch the Nightmare Before Christmas. Ace forgot how creepy the Oogie Boogie Man is and ended up scared anyway, hugging Arturo’s arm like a teddy bear for comfort. He didn’t cry, though!…Well okay, maybe a little.

-Veronika makes spooky snacks. They’re not actually spooky, but she’ll call something like popcorn and M&M’s ‘Unicorn intestines’ or something like that and it gets the job done. She tries to make a cake that looks like a real human heart, too, but according to Arturo it is not atomically accurate in the slightest.

-Overall they have a lot of fun! Veronika is happy to spend her favorite holiday with her two favorite people.

"Hey, Arturo," Ace said, pulling on Arturo's coat sleeve. They were outside, mid-winter. Walking through the beautiful white snow as children played and people laughed together.

"Hm?" Arturo answered, looking down at Ace. The height difference between them earned the two a few people always asking if they were son and father. Very awkward talks, but at this point they were used to it.

"May I have a kiss?" Ace asked, stars beaming in his eyes as he smiled like a small child excited to get a treat.

"You realize I have to bend down over a foot to reach you, dear," He said in a slightly awkward voice, laughing a little as Ace grumbled.

"I hate being tiny." He groaned as Arturo laughed a little louder.

"I know you do."

You said you wanted more asks and that was when I knew that I would make it my mission to send in something today (and maybe a second thing later). And when pondering what Ace-related thing to say, I remembered Aceturo existed (I ship nearly every DRDT guy (+Nico) with Ace so I jump around on which one I like most a lot). So I’ll talk about that.

As confirmed in an ask game, Ace’s preferred type of clothing is sporty stuff, and Arturo is into the higher fashion or whatever, and things that look expensive. And despite Arturo’s pleas, (‘You look like you just rolled out of bed, you’d look so nice if-’ ‘I LOOK FINE!’), Ace refuses to change his fashion choices.

But every once in a while, when they have to go to a formal event and Ace is forced to dress all fancy in a suit that Arturo picked out because it looked rather upper-class and expensive but was actually very cheap, Arturo can’t help but get…Interested. This is because when his rather strange standards for beauty are being fulfilled by Ace, he remembers just how fucking hot his boyfriend is.

This almost always results in the two of them barely making it home and into the bedroom before Arturo is ripping off the suit that started all this and fucking Ace into next week. Arturo, being Arturo, is constantly telling Ace how he’s beautiful and taking in what a pretty sight it is to see Ace so helpless and blushing underneath him. Arturo practically mourns when Ace goes back to wearing his usual outfit the next day.

Those two definitely have very compelling personalities that can overlap with each other quite easily with Arturo’s ideals on beauty and Ace’s issue with how easily he can lose his shit.

Those two would definitely have petty arguments with Ace usually starting the argument (in a loving way), meanwhile Arturo is (lovingly) insulting the others cowardice while taking care of his injuries from a competition.

Also, the height difference is absolutely hilarious I love them.

Their reaction ship is a cycle of “-I’m mad, I yell at you, we separate, I feel bad, I forgive you, we love each other again, something ticks me off so-” over and over again.

Arturo actually makes decent meals for them.

Don’t think they go easy on each other if they get intimate.

If either of them has a bad day, the other will hug and comfort them while they cry.

This is one of my OPTs, I adore this ship to death.

Arei is very defensive of Eden and will do anything to make sure she’s safe.

Arei teases Eden often but the friendly type. Sometimes Eden drops a comeback which makes Arei proud.

They’re not very touchy or intimate with each other.

They have three cats, Tractor(a Canon Cat), Lily(A grey cat), and Soju(Brown with white splotches of fur).

Nap times are common.

Teruko usually drags Nico to baths and showers.

They take baths together and splash each other in the process.

If either one of them gets hurt, the other gets very defensive. They definitely enjoy their intimate time together. This is a ship I’ve never seen before, personally I headcanon Arei as a lesbian but I’m all up for rare-pairs!

Xander actually confessed to Whit the day before Valentinesday, since he knew Whit disliked the holiday.

Whit showers Xander with affection and Xander does his best to do the same.

Veronika is very intrigued by Teruko’s luck, even if that means she’s getting into a lot of trouble due to it.

Even if she doesn’t show it, Teruko loves Veronika dearly.

The two of them are very intimate with each other, Veronika always starts it and they switch around. Both of them exploring each other.

Veronika works at a movie production studio and Teruko is the main actor.Teruko learned how to write just so she could write love letters to Veronika. Man, I love this ship sm. It’s honestly adorable to me.

What's your opinion on Charturo? It's one of my favorite ships and not many people I know even think of it as a ship.

Hmm. While I’ve read one to two one-shots about it, I’ll admit I don’t think about Charturo too often.

I guess Arturo isn’t really a character I usually ship with most of the other cast members, since a lot of them can’t stand his whole beauty shtick. Veronika is the one character I really like shipping with him, because she actually enjoys being around him. I headcanon her to think that his worldview getting morphed into what it is is very interesting and she likes to analyze it a lot. She constantly just wants to learn more about him so she can see why he is the way he is. (I guess that’s sorta true canonically, too).

But I’m getting off track. This is about Charturo, not Verturo.

I can definitely see the vision. At least in chapter one, Charles and Arturo are pretty similar, what with both of them being extremely condescending towards others, even if it is for different reasons.

Intriguingly, Charles actually respects Arturo at first, because he believes Arturo has a respectable occupation, and someone liking Arturo is interesting to see when everyone else seems to think he’s a creep almost immediately because of his worldview.

Speaking of Arturo’s worldview, him only respecting beautiful people, whether they be models, movie stars, etc. is probably the biggest roadblock for any Arturo ship, not just this one. How is he supposed to gain feelings for the person you ship him with if he’s constantly disgusted by their presence?

Usually the solution is to make him realize that the person you’re shipping him with is…now that he’s actually taking the time to look…really pretty. How did he not see it before? No, no, he’s being ridiculous. This classmate of his wasn’t to be respected in any sense. Yet…He couldn’t help but become entranced. If they let him, he’s sure he could help them be just as beautiful as some of the celebrities he’d worked with, though his classmate was almost on par with them already…

And then go from there. I haven’t read too many Arturo x anyone-besides-Veronika fics, but the ones I have usually do something like that. And I think it’s really fun! And literally every DRDT character is attractive, so it never feels too unrealistic. Maybe I’ll write something like that myself one day.

And this method could potentially work for Charles. Arturo watches him do chemistry stuff or whatever, and notices that wow, if Charles just took off those hideous yellow-tinged glasses (Arturo’s words not mine) and let him fix him up a bit, Charles could be not-ugly. Maybe even attractive.

As for whether Charles would return those feelings if Arturo fell for him…

Well, Charles is more complicated, because he can’t just see a pretty person and immediately start worshipping them. But I could maybe see it. He’s a scientist, and usually scientists possess a pretty hefty amount of curiosity, so he could possibly become curious as to what made Arturo the way he is, like Veronika. Other than that I’m unsure, though.

Maybe it’s because Arturo just doesn’t take up much space in my brain, but I’m struggling to see what Charles would actually…like about him?

Then again this is coming from the person who really likes Aceturo even though Ace would probably despise Arturo canonically. So I really want to hear your reasoning for why you think Charles and Arturo work together (unless you don’t have a reason and you like this ship just because. I totally get that, that’s how I am with some ships).

In conclusion, I don’t really get excited every time I see something about Charturo, but I don’t dislike the ship either. It just kinda exists for me. But I can see why you like it, at least a little bit. I’d love to hear more from you or others about why they ship it!
