New headcanon: The reason why in AA4 Trucy says all those ridiculous stuff that Phoenix "taught" her is because sometimes Phoenix would tell her stories about his law days and she completely misinterpreted any and all "lesson" of those stories.

For example: Phoenix tells the story of Farewell my Turnabout where Maya gets kidnapped and how he and Edgeworth worked together to find the truth and save Maya. Trucy went "Oh! So you can extend a trial by being kidnapped huh?" And that's why she did exactly that in Turnabout Corner

I'm so tired of hearing that Phoenix saved Miles without hearing about any of its implications.

Because Phoenix's savior complex is a major problem not a solution. Because Wrightworth is not about Phoenix saving Miles, it's about them saving each other. Because in Farewell My Turnabout, Miles Edgeworth said "We aren't some sort of heroes. We're only human." and he was right.

phoenix is absolutely unhinged before and after the trilogy. in his early twenties he's a pathetic little theatre kid who eats glass and in his thirties he's the cryptid of the legal world who plays poker in a dingy basement and may or may not be the chief prosecutor's sugar baby. and i absolutely love that in the midst of this drastic transition, there is a point in his life--the three years spanning the trilogy-- where he's the most normal person ever

not that anyone's asked, but i think klavier is actually the pinnacle of AA rival prosecutor design and characterization.

like, he doesn't assault you, he's not conspiring against you (or the government), he's not a murderer, he doesn't have superpowers or something.

he's just there in his gaudy little outfit, he's wrapped in chains, his titties are almost out, he's annoying in a slutty kind of a way, his meanness is homoerotic, he's faux eurotrash, AND his name is literally piano.

Thinking about this sprite... It's striking to me because it looks like one of those 'end of case relieved smile' sprites that reward the player, but it's actually used pretty commonly in relation to Trucy.

I don't think Phoenix in the original trilogy does a lot of laughing? He's involved in jokes and happy moments, but actual straight-up laughing is not something he's really associated with.

So to see even this Phoenix, who's so cagey and withdrawn, laugh from the bottom of his heart, and to do it often, because of his daughter.... it makes me teary-eyed!!!

She's the best thing that ever happened to him!! That's his kid!!!

Me 'n my brother were joking about aa7 and here's our pitch for the game:

Every case has the defendant be a main character who hasn't been accused yet.

The game starts with Phoenix receiving a call at 1am where he is being demanded to go to the detention center right there and then. It's *dramatic reveal* Franziska von Karma. She's been accused of murder and she is outraged. And also intimidated the guards into allowing her to have a visitor at 1am.

2nd case is Apollo the man who thought he could get away with being part of the WAA and not being accused of murder.

3rd case? Klavier Gavin! Back to back the lawyers of aa4 get accused of murder :)

The 4th case is *trumpet sounds* Pearl Fey. This one is the most dramatic because PEARL? Our little Pearls? Not a single person thinks she actually did it but the evidence is overwhelmingly against her and it leads to some chaos

phoenix wright is the kinda dude to fall asleep anywhere if he's tired enough.

miles edgeworth is the kinda guy who has to have the room at a specific temperature with 1.5 blankets on him, the right pillow(s), the pajamas with his favorite specific texture (the pink silk pajamas are for more than just looking good) and whatever specific background noise playing – sometimes video essays about the steel samurai, sometimes specific episodes of steel samurai, sometimes instrumental/steel samurai ost playlists, some specific streamers who gained popularity playing the samuraiverse cardbuilding RPG roguelike released several years ago or maybe even steel samurai asmr roleplay.

(he is very grateful that phoenix can fall asleep to anything)

(phoenix hates to admit that this has become part of his routine as well. when miles isn't with him he'll turn something on and pretend miles is there.)
