I was going to study abroad in England, but all of a sudden, the plane I was on dropped me off in Texas, and the pilot said I was studying there instead from now on.

Harry and Draco are on a trip to Budapest to help with Kingsley's re-election, but that's the boring bit. More interesting: Harry Potter is changing his Tinder preferences to include men. Also interesting: Harry's spending more time with Draco Malfoy than he ever has, wandering around the city. And Harry doesn't hate it. The city's pretty gorgeous too.
Or: This is the author's love letter to Budapest, Hungary.
I've been to Budapest quite a few times, and it's one of my favorite cities ever. Some of the best nights of my life I've had in Budapest. And I feel like reading this took me back there - the atmosphere is flawless in this story. This is a sweet and touching story, Harry's self-discovery feels very raw and intimate (that bathroom scene fucking ruined me). A lovely little read.

‼️‼️
guys i’m extremely upset, overwhelmed and so like, conflicted
so basically last year i signed up to go on this challenge abroad trip with my school. which is when they send you to countries like tanzania, thailand, cambodia, argentina etc to do charity stuff. flights are paid for but we just have to bring money like £500 for extracurricular stuff. i signed up because the dates i got given were fine in july and i was happy with the information so far
it’s now the next year and they don’t know any information or solid dates anymore, so i can’t book off work unless i know. and also me and my friend bought concert tickets for the weeknd and lana del rey and we got them before any dates were announced.
i emailed this guy saying i wanted to cancel because of what i stated above and the guy gave me shit for not choosing to go on the trip. “it’s once in a lifetime” “it’ll look good on job applications” “you’ll regret it” “i can’t believe you’re choosing concerts over this” “sell your tickets” like it’s not that deep
i cried about it bc i’m sensitive and he was extremely rude and i emailed him saying that i didn’t like how he spoke to me
today my tutor had a talk with me bc the guy talked to her. like WHAT THE FUCK. how petty can you be. i thought that he’d just leave it after i told him no
but now i’m conflicted bc i do want to go, like i signed up and everything. but bc of these concerts i don’t know what to do bc the dates he’s saying are the concert dates. but it’s funny bc he said MAYBE so he doesn’t actually know when the trip dates are
like i want to go to the concerts. but also turning down a trip abroad like that, idk. my tutor says i’ll really regret it which may be true but cmon. she didn’t have to give me shit about it either
idk i’m just extremely stressed and overwhelmed and also angry at that guy. i got accepted for tanzania, the same as him. i’m not going on a trip with him
anyone got any advice 🥲

Whenever i travel my mother would teach me never to keep all of my cash in my wallet so i strategically place parts of my cash in various hidden places.
Just to name a few
Wallet (duh, this is the place they always look first) but it has to be in a zipper pocket ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE of where my fellow stranger traveller will be sitting because huh what are you going to do - REACH over me and take my wallet??
Inside pocket of a jacket that must have a zipper otherwise someone might just rummage about in my breast and take it while i sleep Emil and the Detectives on the train style (traumatising book i never trust anyone i ride public transport w)
My medicine bag (nothing better than when ur sick and ur looking for medicine and find cash) plus also people are not inclined to take ur meds theyre good like that
In that inside pocket of your big backpack (unfortunately no zipper, but a lot of stuff all over the backpack that makes it difficult to find the inside pocket of the backpack)
And then you might be way too good at hiding cash that when u arrive home u forget where u hid it and so u have 20 unnacounted for euros and u cant for the life of u figure it the fuck out until u unpack fully and open your glasses box and unfurl the little napkin and see 20 euros pop out of the napkin

one of my favorite experiences of being abroad was when I was in England in a grocery store and I said loudly to a flatmate something about bread, and this group of highschool girls looked at me and then whispered just loud enough that I could hear "Oh my god did you hear her accent? Do you think she's american?"
and that was the best thing ever.

Jetzt heißt es: Next Stop New York 🥳
