So I need to ask.

What's up with you taking away Zim's body part in your AUs? xD

PFFFF xD I know it might be weird to y'all to see that this is a constant in my AUs already.

But it's just a concept I like to use as a form of something symbolic. The missing limbs are a reflection of Zim feeling himself broken, incomplete and lost inside.

The prosthetics have a symbolic role too though.

Like in Space Junk, despite having lost almost half of his body, Zim feels comfortable with his robotic prosthetics as they respond perfectly to his body and move in syntony with him. It's a parallelism since Zim has healed and learned to accept himself with his flaws. He feels complete now. But the scars are there, although he's finally in a good place.

In Road Trip, Zim has a very primitive prosthetic, and more of working as an extension for his body, it's uncomfortable and intrusive for him, so he doesn't usually uses it. This is also a parallelism, which implies that Zim is in denial and that he's not in a good place mentally. He feels stuck, vulnerable and useless too. He hasn't healed from his wounds yet.

YEAH, I KNOW IT'S TOO MUCH, hdksjKHsj. I just like to put unnecessary deep messages on the smallest things hfjdkdkdj.

I saw on Twitter a while ago of people showing off their design for Sally Acorn. I never actually watched the Satam show or read the Archie comics, so I never got exposed to her glory.

I watched Lowart's videos on the Archie comics though, and from what I've seen there, she's a cool character! I would read the archie comics if it wasn't filled with weird teen romance drama and love. I dunno, it's just not my cup of tea. (yes, I don't like kissing, I'm 19 years alive and I still get weirded out to kissing scenes... I really am a loser) Which is a bummer since she seems so cool, but she's like in the heart of all the romance drama it seems.

Sometimes I think about this fun little AU I have where Snape somehow ends up on the horcrux hunt with Harry, Hermione, and Ron for whatever bullshit plot reason. And the three of them are just like "Merlin he's an asshole, I can't believe we're gonna bully him into being our weird grumpy uncle figure" and then there's Snape being all disgruntled and trying to beat them off with a stick and the trio just doubling down harder out of spite.

Can you imagine Malfoy Manner with Snape being there, it would be a shitshow of epic proportions. Snape has really no idea that the three of them had grown on him like some kind of obnoxious fungus because he's absolutely terrible at handling his emotions right up until they're being threatened by torture to hand over the sword of Gryffindor and having that italicized "oh" moment right there. Which of course leads to him trying to goad Bellatrix and the rest of the Death Eaters into redirecting their attention on him because fuck those are kind of his kids now. And then the Golden Trio having their moment of realization with concrete proof that there's real emotions and feelings hiding underneath all that snark and snarling.

I just want them to get along.

I'm getting overwhelmed again with wanting to rewrite the entirety of Lupin III - Goodbye Partner as a fic my own way, because I am still salty about how Jigen's betrayal was handled and I am pretty sure I could do a better job than TMS did (hell, they handled that same premise better in Seven Days Rhapsody, and it was a B plot!!)

Except I can't do that because 1) I have to finish writing Hanafuda and 2) I have like. zero plot for it right now (but I know if I put my mind to it I could)

In the meantime please have this song that makes me think about what that movie could have been, while I daydream about magic tricks and lighters and proceed to chew at my walls 👍

Thank you for asking lol!! Basically this is an au where Shayera is found out as a spy well before the Thanagarian invasion can actually take place. When the news breaks during a meeting, tensions rise and she grabs Wally as a hostage so she can escape without interference. The whole au is basically just Shayera on the run from the league while Wally is forced to tag along— Shayera is trying to contact Thanagar to come bring her home, and the league is trying to track them both down. Wally isn’t particularly happy to be there

The “healthy ship” in question is between two characters who have an age gap, had one conversation and has several fan stories where the writer depicts them not having a healthy relationship

oh, and chances are possible season two will pull a Star Wars and confirm that they’re related if the Polokus comparisons are leading anywhere

I’m not gonna shame anyone for ship preferences and I’m up for media criticism but this just kinda weird? Not kinda, just flat out weird actually

It’s extremely weird people keep commenting on that Laserhawk shipping shit post with crap like “well Rayfrog is healthier-“ when the two aren’t even canon and their romantic dynamic is pure fan speculation as this point, not to mention it’s an extremely shallow view of both the characters and the show’s themes.

Yes Alex sucks ass, but to say people shouldn’t even attempt to explore Alex and Dolph's relationship in favour of a non canon ship because it’s “healthier” is just so? Dolph has so much tragedy to his character that also says so much about the environment that Dolph and many other kids who grew up like him had to experience in the setting of Eden, and Alex plays a huge part of that.

To say Alex x Dolph isn’t worth “shipping” is to basically admit you don’t care for the show’s themes of exploitation, abuse and trauma under an uncaring capitalist dystopia.

Regardless if Alex’s love was genuine, the relationship he had with Dolph was no different to how Eden used Dolph as a tool and I think that’s definitely far more interesting than just “what if Rayman makes out sloppy style with twink Globox?”

Also, you know you don’t have to ship “ethically”, right? You can have spice. Obviously criticising ships and fiction shouldn’t be taboo either but everyone is “problematic” to some degree. Please use the block button

Edit: I wanted to add now that I thought about this more is that I now realise what it is that bugs me about Rayfrog despite it being a good ship , and it’s not because it’s the most popular ship in the fandom or the two are hog 90% of tags all over the place

It’s because we got a situation where a chunk of the fandom wants to focus on Rayfrog being a wholesome ship while actively ignoring the source material is full of dark , mature and outright problematic story elements, so people who want to talk about Laserhawk’s less vanilla aspects are drowned out by people who joke about rayfrog being toxic yaoi/yuri but can’t actually handle actual toxic yaoi/yuri (wanna stress this does not apply to everyone who ships rayfrog but it’s a noticeable bias on that shit post I made)

probably also awkward that Rayman’s original series is aimed at kids so 🤷‍♀️
