The Boxleitners AU (WordGirl)
Basically a Becky Boxleitner AU but I give Steven himself more character development and plot relevance before ultimately being fused to a mouse.
Before Squeaky (Season 1-2-3)
Tumblr media
●•• Steven Boxleitner's fusion with Squeaky occurs much later than in the show in order to give him a much more in-depth character development to show his relationship with his daughter and his positive impacts on the people of fair city as a whole before his descent and transformation into Dr. Two Brains.
●•• With her identity as a superhero with an advanced vocabulary that's only know by her companion and sidekick, Captain Huggy Face. Becky Boxleitner is unable to talk much about her problems and difficulties with her own father because of the fear that all her hero-ing would get him hurt one day if he did find out.
|
└ • Though during somewhere between Season 3 and before it's finale, Steven does manage to figure out her identity and tries to be helpful by providing help whenever she needs it.
●•• The Boxleitners live in a fairly nice neighborhood that's located near the outskirts of the city that is also coincidentally the same neighborhood that a decent amount of WordGirl's enemies inhabit, Their house is right next to the Butcher and Granny May's houses with Maria the Energy Monster secretly living in one of the powerlines across the street.
|
└ • Steven has become friends with many of his definitely not villains in their civilian identities neighbors, Examples are:
|
└ ✧ The Butcher (Jerald T. Butcher) - Jerald is surprisingly great friends with Steven as they'd met when Jerald had decided cook some bbq but unfortunately broke his own barbecue grill on accident though he ultimately met up with Steven when he'd heard that the man was inventing a machine that cooked meat much faster, This little interaction had then led to become the thing many of the neighbors look forward to every week, The Weekly Neighborhood Barbeque.
|
└ ✧ Granny May ( Granny May) - May has always treated the Boxleitners as close family ever since the day that they'd started visiting her when during one of the neighborly bbq she'd let slip that she felt alot more lonely since her family and grandkids were off on vacation with even her own mom being busy aswell and that she wished more people visited her more often, the next day Steven brought his daughter and their pet monkey over and chatted which eventually turned into them baking cookies and listening to Granny May's childhood stories every Friday after Becky gets home from school. (Colonel Mustard, Granny May's cat has also taken a liking to them)
Tumblr media
|
└ ✧ Mr. Big (Shelly Smalls) - With Wordgirl being able to foil his plans quickly he went under a fake name (Dr. Small) to seek the help of Steven Boxleitner to make a mind control bunny button which he ultimately used on Steven after the man found out about his true identity. Although even after being mind-controlled Steven still forgives Mr. Big and still do business with eachother like the time Shelly requested for a perfume that naturally causes bunnies to follow him.
➜ This leads to an episode that centers around Mr. Big using the bunnies against Wordgirl with steven on the other hand wasn't told what the perfume was for.
|
└ ✧ Energy Monster (Maria the Energy Monster) - Though their interaction was short, Maria had managed to convince Steven that teenage girls turn into large Electrical Monsters when they hit puberty after he'd given her a device that turned certain Electrical charges into sounds that then let her communicate.
Tumblr media
➜ In an altered version of "Dinner or Consequences" Maria doesn't have the device removed and is able to communicate throughout the show permanently.
★ Becky is aware of their true identities but ultimately keeps quiet so her dad's new found friendship with them wouldn't end.
●•• Steven's assigned government owned lab and Becky's school that's just a few blocks away is located near the epicenter of the city so he normally just drops her off there when he's going to do some experimentation in the laboratory and if ever Becky gets out of school early she'll just walk to her dad's workplace to see and make sure that Steven hasn't accidentally blown himself up because of being too distracted and wait for him to finish so he can drive both of them back home. (On occasions, she'll just turn into wordgirl and fly back to their house if her dad was just at home.)
|
└ • Becky had once been in the presence of a dozen miscoloured mice on one faithful afternoon when she'd decided to visit Steven, Each cage had been surprisingly lavish and contained three mice each plus everything their little mouse sized hearts desired, When asking about the indoor mouse zoo she was told that they were rescued from an illegal smuggling case in the far north of the city with the smuggler subjecting the mice to harsh living conditions to which made Becky automatically angry at herself for being unable to help these poor creatures as WordGirl.
|
└ • Upon noticing his daughters clear reaction and the regret plastered all over her face, Steven placed his hand on Becky's shoulder and added that the mice were only temporarily in his care so they could be relocated to a place where all their needs will be met and that earlier today a nice elderly couple had generously donated over a pound of fruits and cheese for the poor mice which seemed to make his daughter's mood lift. He failed to mention how the perpetrator hadn't been caught yet and is probably roaming the city doing illegal smuggler things.
|
└ • At one point, Steven had introduced Becky to a little lab mouse that he'd affectionately named "Squeaky" in the count that the little mouse was the most noisiest and the most likely to bite her fingers if given the chance. He'd mentioned aswell that squeaky was one of the mice that was rescued from the smuggler incident so the hostility to humans was understandable.
➜ On a side note, Her dad had shown her how squeaky could break down walls and walls of drywall to get to a singular piece of cheese, It's unsure if Squeaky was experimented on by the Smuggler or if the small mouse was always like this.
●•• Steven still makes the mind-reading device but for different reasons such as to read squeaky's mind to figure out the smuggler's identity and if more animals were being illegally brought to fair city and maybe be able to help the authorities catch the criminal but with a lot of things happening here and there the mind-reading device didn't get to the testing phase until season 3.
----
The timeline is pretty messed up but basically any episode that's set in Season 1-3 that contains Dr. two brains as a main character is instead placed into Season 4 or tweaked so that it's Steven instead, The invasion of the bunny lovers is also put into Season 2 rather than 6.
This post is prone to being edited due to me always getting ideas on how to improve an AU so don't expect this to stay the same :D
(If you saw the sudden style change between images, Image 1 was drawn directly on CapCut while Image 2-3 was sketched on paper then placed into Capcut)

Wordgirl Infection Au: Mouse Virus
(So I have been looking at different infections aus from different fandoms and decided, hey why not try a version of my own. This idea stems from a mouse zombie apocalypse that I came up with and discussed with friends on discord. I am changing some things from the original idea such as with the virus its not fast acting in the infection au unlike the zombie idea. The cause for it is still the same as well as those who can be infected and those who can be immune.) VIRAL OUTBREAK REPORT: ENTRY 1 NAME: Professor Steven Dr. Two Brains SUBJECT: 01-OMEGA BIO INFECTION "aka" Mouse Virus CLASSIFICATION TYPE: Viral Infection ORIGIN OF OUTBREAK: Fair City Somewhere TIME OF OUTBREAK: April 10th, 2015 RATE OF INFECTION: 2 to 72 hours NUMBER OF INFECTED: 2,734 and growing NUMBER OF SURVIVORS:...less than 400 maybe even less than that SIGNS OF POSSIBLE IMMUNIZATION: Myself Only animals show 100% immunity to the infection SIGNS OF INFECTED: Scratches and bite marks SYMPTOMS: Discussed in another entry. TIMELINE OF INFECTION: Discussed in another entry STAGES: Recorded data in another entry from Beck an infected subject. PATIENT ZERO: UNKNOWN CURE:..Still in testing phase CAUSE: IT'S NOT MY FAULT! IT'S NOT MY FAULT! I DON'T KNOW WHY THE BLAME ME FOR THIS! I NEVER WANTED SOMETHING LIKE THIS I JUST WANTED CHEESE! THE DEVICE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS! SOMEONE TAMPERED WITH IT! I'm sorry Becky, I'm so sorry! CAUSE: Rodent mind reading device.

Carrie and Steven's initial reaction to Becky and Tobey dating. Also their reactions in the future when those two become engaged.
"WHAT!?"
"honey down. It's not the end of the world-"
"of course it isn't! This is way worse-"
"you're overreacting-"
"no you're underreacting! Our daughter is going to marry Tobey!!!"
"and you should be happy she found someone who treats her well!"
"mhmm."
"are you even listening!?"
Silence....
"Blu, chase! remember what I told you two about code Mccallister?"
"STEVEN!"
Steven looked up from the death ray he was tinkering on. By his expression it was clear he saw nothing wrong with what he was doing. Chase and Blu were at his side handing him tools. Carrie exhaled pinching the bridge of her nose. "You are not turning out daughter's fiance into goop." She says sternly.
"im not going to do that-"
"good."
There was a brief pause in the air.
"dad says he's going to disintegrate tobey." Blu chimed giggling.
"STEVEN ANDREW BOXLEITNER!!"

Wg Episode idea and possible future rp idea for you and @erraticeris Mindful Manners Summary: A new female villain dressed up like a Victorian nanny causes trouble in Fair City. She proclaims herself to be a "person of justice", but her actions only cause chaos and she is too stubborn to believe she is in the wrong. Her name Miss Manners. She has mind control powers that only affect kids under the age of 16. Miss Manners believes every child should behave like well mannered and responsible adults, like their parents. So any child she finds "misbehaving". She hypnotizes them to act more like their parents would. She stubbornly believes all parents are the best role models for their children. She targets the villain kids and hypnotizes them to act like their parents. ex. Tobey acting like his mother and Victoria acting like her parents. (Eileen is affected too, but I don't know who her parents are so that is up in the air.) Wordgirl and Amazo Lad try to intervene to stop Miss Manners because you can't mind control children lady! Miss Manners sees the heroes' actions as "misbehaving" so she hypnotizes them as well. "You two should really act more like your parents!" Miss Manners cackles. She and the citizens are stunned and shocked when Amazo Lad and Wordgirl start stealing their favorite stuff and committing other crimes as well. Miss Manners had no clue their parents were criminals. (Carrie is still a cat villain in this episode.) So Fair City is in trouble. Featured words: Behavior and Imitation

Drawovers and future AU.
Some lore under the cut:
Five years have passed in Fair City, Word Girl and friends are now in high school. The villains are up to their usual shenanigans, new ones arriving to fill in any crime slowdowns.
Dr. Two Brains, however, has slowly felt his mind slip from his control as the years pass, realizing that not only has he lost control of his mind but his body as well. He has undergone some unforeseen changes, slowly transforming into the body of a mouse. His claws poke through his gloves due to this, and he desperately tries to conceal his physical changes.
Professor Snakescrew, once known as Professor Seren Ramos, was once Steven Boxlietners colleague. Always feeling side-stepped by him, she decided it was time to prove herself during the grand gadget competition. This being sponsored by the city and a winning invention being specially chosen to be used to fight crime. Seren showed Steven her blueprints for an invention, but Steven put down her plans as they could be “used for evil”.
In her anger, she sought out to prove her rival wrong, holing herself in her lab for years attempting to perfect her creation. Little did she know, the man she swore to defeat had completely lost his mind. Upon completing her invention, she leaves her lab to see a changed world and Dr. Boxleitner, now Two Brains, a shadow of the man he once was.
Now realizing that there was no one to prove herself to, she now feels that Dr. Boxleitner was right, her inventions can be used for evil! >:) She goes back to the drawing board, thinking that if she couldn’t one-up Steven as a scientist, she could beat him at being a villain.
Her love for reptiles bleeds into her evil schemes. She created a serum made from snake venom, turning her hair into one giant snake (kinda like medusa but if it was one snake rather than a bunch). She lost her right eye in the process. The spiral spins when she’s excited/angry. Most of her gadgets attract snakes, her minions are snakes, and theres a lot of snake theming to her inventions and laboratory. She uses Two Brains fear of snakes to her advantage, often foiling his cheese-stealing plans.
Abilities: Her and her snakes venom have hallucinogenic properties, causing the bite victim to experience pain and visual illusions. Often this can involve hallucinating an injury that isnt actually there or a nightmare scenario.

A Different Kind of Wordgirl AU
Becky is stronger than most humans, she doesn't have super strength. Becky is faster than most humans, she doesn't have super speed. Becky is more agile than most humans, she can't fly. Becky's five senses are better than a human's, it doesn't mean she has superpowers.
All her life, Becky Boxleitner knew she was different from a lot of people on earth. She was a hybrid alien child, born of a human father and alien mother from Lexicon. Yet at the same time, she was also different from the inhabitants of her mother's planet. The only thing Becky inherited from her mother was a majority of her looks plus her extraordinary vocabulary skills. Becky cannot fly, run super fast, nor lift extremely heavy objects like her mother could. The only Lexiconian Becky could surpass was her pet monkey Bob aka Captain Huggy Face. Becky never thought she would be hero material until she was an adult. She never thought she would be ready to be a hero like how her dad wrote about them in his book. Things changed when the local hero Amazo Guy vanished one day, and her dad, the best expert on heroes, became fused to a vicious lab mouse and became known as Dr. Two Brains. So this au is an idea where Becky is an alien hybrid but the only powers she has are her extreme vocabulary. She becomes Wordgirl still in this au but only after her dad becomes Dr. Two Brains and Amazo Guy disappears. There are major differences in this au from other ones.
-Becky's hero outfit is more tech savvy. She calls her tools her "Word Tech." She wears a clear yellow visor which masks her identity as well as detects heat signatures, allow her to look at data on the go, help her see things far away or analyze materials. She has a hidden earpiece in her helmet to allow her to communicate with the police, DA Botsford, City Hall, and Captain Huggy Face. Her yellow cape can act as an invisibility cloak, shield, light deflector to blind enemies. He gloves and boots allow her to walk on walls like spiderman. She can generate electricity within her gloves to stun. Her boots have attached rockets to help her fly. Becky has other gadgets on her belt which are interchangeable depending on her mission. She also has a special pouch attached to he utility belt as well. Gadgets she uses are grappling hooks, flashlight, laser pen, bow staff, tracking devices, bolo nets, etc. Huggy looks like his canon self with only minor changes such as a light blue visor, earpiece, and navy blue gloves and boots that can operate like Becky's, plus a parachute bag attached to his back at all times. Huggy also wears a special wrist watch shaped like a lightning bolt that can shoot small lasers, stun villains, and act as a shield. -Since Becky never had any of her other powers except vocabulary, Steven taught her science and technology. That is how Becky is able to create and use her "Word Tech" so effectively well. -Becky in this au is a rookie compared to her counterparts, she is using her dad's book plus other Lexiconian books to help her fight and be better prepared as a hero so she makes more mistakes than her counterparts. - Bob in this au teaches her how to fight and helps give her self confidence to believe in her self as a hero. During the Miss Power arc when Bob shows her the book "Super Advanced Secret Battle Moves of The Planet Lexicon" and tells her that the reason he didn't show her the book until now because he thought she was doing a great job so far without it, Becky becomes more emotionally touched and cries a bit before getting back on task. Becky can also understand Bob still in this au. -Violet and Scoops very early on are told by Becky about her hero identity. This is because Becky felt she needed someone she could talk to about her hero life and issues besides her dad. (She later found out the part about hero's keeping their identity a secret afterwards in her dad's book. Whoops!) Becky also wanted Scoops and Violet to help her on the side in finding out what happened to Amazo Guy after he disappeared right before her dad's accident. (Coincidence...maybe😈). -Dr. Two Brains knows that Becky is Wordgirl off bat without her telling him. He recognizes his daughter's work in the gadgets Wordgirl uses, plus the amazing vocabulary skills and lack of superpowers is a dead giveaway to Two Brains as well. Unlike other aus I have written, Two Brains in this one is strongly against the idea of his daughter being a hero. While Becky does have thicker skin, she is still prone to cuts, bruises, and other injuries. Mouse man nearly had a heart attack when she got a sprained ankle. They have argued about Becky's continuation of heroics and facing dangers, but Becky is adamant about doing this and points out to her dad that since there are no heroes around, someone has to stand up to fill the role who had hero and villain know how. Because she is still hurt in bothered this early about her dad's accident and transition to villainy, Becky makes a passive aggressive comment that she has to unfortunately take the role because the only adult hero expert in this city is now subjected to a life of cheesy crime due to the control of a parasitic lab mouse. Becky did apologize for her choice of words when she saw her dad's reaction, but Two Brains still feels hidden guilt of making his daughter face this path unprepared alone with only Bob. Dr. Two Brains reluctantly lets her continue, but is still in silent protest about it.
