So I decided to make myself an Irken Sona!! Since I haven’t, and I figured this would be fun to do! Here is his some stuff I’ve written about him!
Character Summary and Backstory: Spore the Irken
Name: Spore
Species: Irken
Affliction: Infected with a symbiotic plant life
Companion: SIR Unit, Venus (half Venus flytrap)
Planet Name: Verdantia
Native Plants: Verdantia is home to a variety of aggressive and resilient flora, including Lumin Bloom, Thorned Creeper, Verdant Wisp, and Carnivorous Snapdragons.
Backstory:
Spore was once a promising Irken soldier, dedicated to the Irken Empire. However, during a reconnaissance mission to the uncharted planet Verdantia, Spore was exposed to a peculiar and aggressive form of plant life. The plants on Verdantia possess a unique symbiotic relationship with their environment, allowing them to merge with other life forms to ensure mutual survival.
Upon landing, Spore unknowingly disturbed the Lumin Bloom, a bioluminescent flower known for its rapid spreading spores. These spores infiltrated his body, merging with his cellular structure and causing various plants to grow on and within him. This process altered his physiology, making him a host for an array of flora.
Upon his return, the Irken leaders, the Almighty Tallest, deemed him an abomination and a threat. They saw an opportunity to rid themselves of Spore by sending him back to Verdantia with his SIR unit, now fused with a Venus flytrap, under the guise of a solitary mission. Their true intent was for Spore to perish alone on the hostile planet.
Life on Verdantia:
On Verdantia, Spore’s life is a constant struggle. The symbiotic plants cause him perpetual discomfort and sickness, and he is in a state of continuous growth and decay. His ability to regenerate when new plants grow keeps him in a cycle of death and rebirth, preventing him from finding peace. Despite his physical torment, Spore has developed a resilience and deep understanding of the planet’s ecosystem.
