Rewatching Classic Doctor Who, some episodes I haven't seen in years, some of the animated reconstructions I haven't seen at all.
The Dalek Invasion of Earth AKA Daleks Threaten Earth AKA The Invaders AKA The Daleks (II) AKA The Return of the Daleks AKA The Daleks in Europe AKA Serial K
In February, 1964 Dalekmania hit Britain. The Daleks was immediately popular, spiking ratings and drawing big attention to this new show, Doctor Who. The donation of two of the original Dalek props to a children's charity drew attention and interest in the Daleks remained high. In March a sequel story was commissioned from Terry Nation for the second season, based on the strength of both The Daleks and The Keys of Marinus.
And what a sequel it was! It made use of extensive location shoots, the sight of Daleks chasing the TARDIS crew around London were instantly iconic. It also features the first quarry shoot for the show and probably one of the few times a quarry appears as an actual Earth quarry in Doctor Who history. The original 4 Dalek models were joined by 2 new ones, to flesh out the ranks of the invading army, which led to some impressively complex shoots in and around the Dalek saucer. During one of these complex shoots, William Hartnell was injured and had to sit out for an episode. The less said about the slyther, however, the better. And despite the best efforts of the crew to step up their games, some of the sets feature some obvious backdrops.
The story opens with an fantastic hook, a man with some kind of strange apparatus on his head, lurches about, tearing the mechanical apparatus off his head, and throws himself into the river. The TARDIS arrives and everyone is excited to have apparently returned to Earth. They very quickly realize, however, something is amiss. Susan injures herself and the TARDIS is blocked by rubble, the party separates once again displaying absolutely no degree of genre savvy. Barbara and Susan are discovered and "rescued" by some human resistance fighters. The Doctor and Ian come face-to-face with the unexpected... a Dalek, rising from the Thames. It's quite a cliffhanger!
It turns out that the Daleks have bombarded Earth with meteorites, infected them with a plague, and then invaded. Some of the survivors were enslaved, others were turned into Robomen: cyborg servants of the Daleks who eventually go mad and kill themselves. The Doctor immediately starts sassing the Daleks, who do not realize they have made a grave mistake in invading the Doctor's favorite planet. The Daleks don't recognize the Doctor (or Ian). The Doctor assumes that their previous adventure with the Daleks is "millions" of years in the future, which seems like the Doctor making stuff up again. The Daleks are running a mining operation for reasons unknown and the Doctor and Ian are taken aboard a Dalek saucer and come face to face with the Black Dalek, first seen in the Dalek comics. Of course, he's not entirely black yet, he needs another episode or two to finish his paint job.
The human resistance attacks. The Doctor escapes, Ian stays behind, Barbara is hurt and separated from Susan who escapes with David, a member of the resistance. Upon recovery Barbara goes off with Jenny, another member of the resistance, to find bomb making materials and killing a Dalek by running it over with a truck. Amongst Barbara's many talents, she apparently has her CDL (or whatever the UK equivalent is). One wheelchair bound member of the resistance shows some limited ability to move without his mobility device, which, to judge from recent critique, some people think is the most unbelievable thing to ever happen in Doctor Who. The Doctor meets up with Susan and David, third wheel on their extended date. Ian and another escapee make their way toward the Dalek's mining operation, meeting Mr. Rumbold from Are You Being Served? along the way (Nicholas Smith in his first speaking role).
Barbara and Jenny get sold out to the Daleks by two old women and are taken to the mine. After a series of adventures and romantic moments: The Doctor, Susan, and David also arrive at the mine. It turns out the Daleks are going to mine out the core of the Earth replace it with an engine so that they can pilot the planet as they choose, like some kind of Death Star. Which is either the dumbest thing I've ever heard or the most brilliant, I'm not sure. The Daleks are in the process of dropping a bomb down into the Earth's core when The Doctor and Barbara force the Robomen to turn on the Daleks through the power of impressions and everyone escapes, except the Daleks who are caught in the explosion. The Earth's core survives intact, but England gets a new active volcano.
The TARDIS is freed from debris and while Susan is busy debating leaving David, the Doctor makes her mind up for her, leaving her behind (with only one shoe?) to help rebuild the Earth, becoming the first companion to leave. Or be left anyway. Jenny was originally meant to become the new companion at this point but there were issues behind the scenes that prevented the character from being more than a one-shot. Personally I rather like Jenny, she would have made a much more interesting companion than Vicki.
It's a wonderful serial, using it's six episodes to the fullest and throwing almost everything into the mix to craft an impressive story, even alligators in the sewers. It feels more like Doctor Who than anything we've seen thus far. The Doctor taking a keen interest in upsetting the Daleks' plans and the crew firmly in the protagonist roles. William Hartnell gets at least three all-time classic lines including the famous speech at the end. It is a little convoluted, maybe, but almost everything is in service to the plot. There actually is a fair amount of effort put in to justifying David and Susan's relationship, more so than I remembered. They're actually kind of cute together? While it establishes the terrible "marrying off the companion to a guy she just met" standard exit, it is handled better here than in most other stories. Despite some cheap set backdrops (and the horrible slyther costume), there's some great camerawork and much more complex staging and scenes than we've seen previously. The Dalek Invasion of Earth spiked the Daleks' popularity even further leading to an avalanche of merchandising, comics, live appearances, and two feature films. And another sequel story, cementing the Daleks as the Doctor's only recurring nemesis in these early days. It also assured the popularity of the show, scoring high ratings.
Next up, The Rescue. The Doctor gets a new "granddaughter". For the first time, but not the last time.

On June 28th 1685,  Richard Rumbold was executed in Edinburgh.
To begin with I would like to go back about 380 years to the execution of Sir William Wallace, many point to it as a barbaric act, but being hung, drawn and quartered was the normal sentence for being found guilty of treason back then, although Wallace was never an English subject, so never a traitor. The same could be said about Rumbold, who was an English subject.
Rumbold was accused in 1683 of being the main instigator of a plot to kill King Charles II and his brother James, Duke of York, in an attempt to assassinate the royal couple as they passed by Rye House, on their return from Newmarket Races, it became known as The Rye House Plot.
Historians still debate each other on the actual plot but most agree Rumbold was a minor character in a very widespread plot, involving many leading Republican members of the British aristocracy. In fact, some historians  believe the plot was fabricated by King Charles in order to execute his opponents in the Whig party, which he did, and although some were no doubt guilty of conspiring, several innocent men were put to death. This was mainly part of English history, hence few of us here will know a great deal about it, so I will get to the Scottish part.
When the conspiracy was discovered Rumbold fled initially to Holland, home of many exiled opponents of the Stuarts. In 1685, after the death of Charles a further plot was hatched among the émigrés to dislodge King James VII/II, his Catholic successor, from the throne. This was to take the form of a two-pronged attack on the British Isles: the first on Scotland under the leadership of Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll (who shall crop up again in a post in couple of days) and the second on the west of England under The Duke of Monmouth.
Rumbold accompanied Argyll to Scotland, and was made a colonel in the small army. But the whole enterprise, badly mismanaged, fell apart. Argyll and Rumbold were both captured. Rumbold was executed in either the June 26th or 28th, there are differing accounts.
The following is an account of his execution…..
In a cart, bareheaded, and heavily manacled,he was conveyed from the Water Gate to the Castle, escorted by Graham’s City Guard, with drums beating, and on the 28th of June he was hanged, drawn, and quartered, at the Cross, where his heart was torn from his breast, an exhibited, dripping and reeking, by the executioner, on the point of a plug-bayonet, while he exclaimed, “Behold the heart of Richard Rumbold, a bloody English traitor and murderer!”
Afterwards his head, was placed on the West Port, then  sent to London on the 4th of August, while his quarters were gibbeted in the four principal cities in Scotland.
You can find the condemned mans last speech on the link below, although he didn’t finish it, complaining that the drum beats (were) “so disingenuous as to interrupt a dying man.”https://www.bartleby.com/268/3/15.html

Nicolaas van Eyck - The taking of Mechelen by the Geuzen under the command of Olivier van Tympele and John Norrits on 9 April 1580 -
oil on canvas, Height: 122 cm (48 in); Width: 200 cm (78.7 in)
Stedelijke Musea Mechelen, Belgium
Olivier van den Tympel or van den Tempel (1540 - Vlijmen, 1603) came from a considerable Brabant family. He bore the title lord of Korbeek and was an officer in William of Orange's army.
On April 9, 1580, Van den Tympel led the capture of neighboring Mechelen, with the support of English troops, who put the Mechelse vigilante and the militia guilds out of action. This was followed by a pillage that has come to be known as the English Fury.
Indeed, on April 9, the city was taken under the leadership of the governor of Brussels, Olivier van den Tympel, with the collaboration of the English colonel John Norrits' armies and the Scottish captain Stuart. Van den Tympel advanced with men from the garrisons of Brussels and Vilvoorde and with Charles van Lievin's cavalry. They succeeded in taking the Superior Gate. Colonel Norris entered the city through the Cow Gate with his English and Scottish salesmen. They were helped in this by pro-state citizens of Mechelen who opened the gates from the inside.
Within the city, a battle raged with the vigilantes and the militia guilds, who eventually lost their lives. About sixty people were killed, including when the English looted monasteries, churches and private properties. At least two Carmelites were killed. The relics of Saint Rumbold were scattered. Matthias Hovius, later archbishop of the diocese of Mechelen, hid in a closet for three days and then fled the city, dressed in a peasant smock.  The looting would have lasted a whole month.
Nicolaas van Eyck or Nicolaes van Eyck (1617 in Antwerp – 1679 in Antwerp), was a Flemish painter active in Antwerp in the middle of the 17th century. He is known for his equestrian and battle scenes, landscapes and portraits. He also painted a few civil processions, including parades of the Antwerp civil militia.

“ it was the epoch of incredulity”… “she doth protest… Rumbold on retainer …… the ribbons of retribution …… micro evidence in camera …… in contempt of a pardon ……” softly softly……”…… an agreeable conclusion …… “return to this green and pleasant”…” long and winding mode”……in blogs good time.
it was the epoch of incredulity by Charles Dickens, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.
she doth protest The lady doth protest too much, methinks" is a line from the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare. It is spoken by Queen Gertrude (as MM thought she is a Queen Sheba herself) in response to the insincere overacting of a character in the play within a play created by Prince Hamlet (Prince Harry ?) to prove his uncle’s (PA) guilt in the murder of his father, the King of Denmark (in reality JE is the King of Pervert kills himself or is murdered by his people)
Rumbold on retainer Thomas Rumbold in the late of 18th century, British East India man who became as wealthy. as a collector of state revenue in the 1760s, he was able to amass a personal fortune. When he returned home in 1769 and bought himself a parliamentary seat, through corruption, at the borough of New Shoreham, he was worth between £200,000–£300,000 – rich enough to build a huge house at Woodhall Park. Returning to England in 1781, Rumbold faced a parliamentary inquiry and a bill was drawn up that would have fined him for ‘breaches of public trust’. Rumbold denied the charges
the Retribution ribbon This ribbon is in the forum or fandom that you can get it through certain action (in Game forum by one get one color ribbon by killing 5 opponents (are we talking about the lipstick alley Forum, the MM’s sugar forum who discuss and hate Catherine??)
micro evidence in camera is there any evidence in Micro security system?? (at SOHO? or at JE’s Mansion House or Boat/Yatch?) So not only we will get evidence in 8mm old video tape (sex Tape), we also get the proof evidence from Camera security System?
in contempt of a pardon The question of whether or not an executive, state or federal, has authorty to issue pardons for contempt of court, whether it be civil or criminal contempt, is a moot, but an interesting one. The courts of the several states are not in accord as to what, in a given case, constitutes civil or criminal contempt. They are, however, in almost complete accord in holding that, assuming the question to be determined, neither the governor nor the presilent has authority to pardon civil contempt
“Softly Softly” is a song by Maxwell (does this has anything to do with the Maxwell Lady?) but this also the words from Lord Baden-Powell the founder of the Boy Scouts, largely because he uses it three times in his diary about his activities in what is now Ghana in 1895-6 (I read the JE also has a connection with Boy Scout too) But our motto is the old West Coast proverb, “Softly, softly, catchee monkey”; in other words, “Don’t flurry; patience gains the day.”
an agreeable conclusion hopefully this is an conclusion for MM & PH and PA & whatever party
Return to Green & Pleasant.
Green & pleasant is English Cider company. It has return policy that one have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it. THe item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it
Also refer to the green & Pleasant land of Farm and Garden in England. “I owe very little to books,” wrote William Cobbett in 1818. At the time, he was living on Long Island in political exile from his native England, and he was referring to practical books about how to farm and garden.
The long and winding Mode –After 20 years of drink, drugs and breakdowns, the Essex band’s only essential album is the singles collection it is also the lyric of Beatles “The long and winding road: that leads to your door Will never disappear I’ve seen that road before; It always leads me here
in blogs good time Is this "The Tig” MM blog that has a good time (according to her)? Lead me to your door
Again..I am not Emsi or PG…or other expert of MM Anon
Great job!  Thank you so much!  You don’t have to be Emsi or PG!  We appreciate all!😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Today started off by boarding a train and heading off on our first excursion in Belgium to the city of Mechelen! We were greeted by Mr. Nijn and Mr. Mareel who gave us an introductory lecture on the figures most central to the city’s history who would come up frequently throughout the day in museums and on our walking tour: Emperor Charles V and the Archduchess Margaret of Austria. While the lecture was rather brief we learned about the city’s prosperous era in the 15th century and how this was marked by the instatement of the Great Council of Mechelen by Charles the Bold and a number of other important political buildings, which attracted important and wealthy people who also contributed to the growth of the city. We also discussed Charles of Habsburg who, in only a few years, inherited an immense portion of Europe from Joanna of Castille, Maximillion, and King Philip 1, and his relationship to the city. He spent a large portion of his childhood in Mechelen but was not raised by his parents, as his father died in Spain in 1506 and his mother, who became mentally ill after losing her husband, was deemed mentally unfit - hence her nickname “Juana the Mad.” Instead, he was raised by one of the most important female figures in early modern Europe -  Margaret of Austria, who came to live in the city in 1507. She was one of my favorite people to learn about as she was seen as an extremely intelligent and composed woman who essentially “created" Charles the V, while also being an avid art collector who was known as one of the great art patrons of early modern Europe, bringing together many important art collections. She raised him in this city as she wanted to stick with the tradition of the Dukes of Burgundy who preferred Mechelen. Furthermore I was very appreciative that I was able to catch a glimpse of her collections and appreciate art by the many renowned and important painters that resided in the city from the 1530s-70s, before the river scheldt closed and many flocked to Amsterdam.
We then visited Museum Hof van Busleyden, which housed a number of beautiful pieces that I really enjoyed, which depicted the very young Charles the V on his throne, portraying the vast amount of territory he inherited and the enormity of his empire. What I enjoyed most about this museum though were the pieces which included Margaret of Austria, some of which portrayed her role as the caregiver of young Charles and other which really highlighted her role as a self-confident and independent widowed woman who started a library and accumulated a greatly impressive art collection. I learned from these depictions the extent to which she had an impact on the city and was even chosen as a historically significant figure to promote the identity of Belgium in the 19th Century, when they were attempting to unify their nation. As a result there is a multitude of sculptures and paintings dedicated to her from this era to keep her legacy alive.
Later that day we also had the opportunity to visit the St. Johns church, which I was very grateful for since it was under renovation and we had to get special permission to enter. Here we not only got the chance to see an amazing piece by Rubens, but also two large wall paintings from the 14th century of St. Christopher and St Jotis that are located on the second level of the towers. The day ended with a visit to St. Rumbold’s Church to climb the many (538) stairs to witness the carillon and the amazing view of the city, which was well worth it.

The Importance of Istanbul
The Importance of Istanbul
The first book ever written by the British deep state on their plans regarding the Ottoman and Turkish lands was William Ewart Gladstone’s Bulgarian Horrors and the Question of the East, published on September 5, 1876. This book was particularly important because its author had served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom four separate times, for a period of 15 years in total. That wasn’t Gladstone’s only notable position though. He also acted as a member of the Privy Council -one of the key institutions under the influence of the British deep state operating as a body of advisers to the Queen- and spent 57 years in that position. Lord Curzon, Lloyd George and Horace Rumbold, about whom more will be told in the following chapters, were also members of this Council. In his notorious 64-page book, Gladstone laid out his plan to break the Ottoman Empire into pieces and presented his plan with the pretense of examining “the Question of the East”.
In his book, Gladstone provided secret tactics to disintegrate empires from within. Indeed, shortly after the book was published, British politicians developed a sudden fondness for the minorities living under Ottoman rule. Supporting those with independence ambitions, they provoked the minorities against the Ottoman rule. Gladstone sided with the Bulgarians, Lloyd George with the Greeks and the Armenians, Lord Curzon with the Kurds and Winston Churchill sided with the Arabs. It should be noted that there is nothing wrong with politicians and leaders forming friendly relations with ethnical groups. On the contrary, this forms a desirable picture. Regrettably, however, these new friendships were not real and were only intended to further British interests and break apart the Ottoman Empire. Unsurprisingly, as soon as British interests ceased to exist, so did those so-called friendships.
Gladstone’s book was the epitome of black propaganda (the honorable Turkish Nation is above all the ill-natured remarks made by Gladstone). In this book, he referred to Turks as ‘the one great anti-human specimen of humanity‘ and hoped that they would clear out from the lands they ruled. Gladstone didn’t refrain from defaming Turks and said:
‘No Government ever has so sinned; none has so proved itself so incorrigible in sin, or which is the same, so impotent in reformation‘.(W.E. Gladstone, Bulgarian Horrors and the Question of the East, New York and Montreal, Lovell, Adam, Wesson and Company, 1876, p. 39)
The only reason behind all this defamation and slander was that Gladstone was one of the most powerful names in the British deep state, which wished to dismember the Ottoman Empire completely.
