Are you on a diet rush?
Body image is one of the greatest concerns of adolescents in today’s generation. As an adolescent, I know and understand what and how you feel. In fact, it was last month when I decided to go on a diet. However, I did not have an exact diet plan. All that I have is my desire to change as fast as possible. So what I did is that, I restricted myself from eating dinner. I even bought a jumping rope because I found it helpful in losing weight from a Korean drama I’ve watched. After 2 weeks of doing those stuffs, I gave up. I felt exhausted. As a result, I returned to my old habit of eating as much as I can.
From my experience, I have realized that to rush on a diet is to miss two important moments. First is the moment of eating the right kind, amount, and frequency of healthy foods. And the other one is the moment of enjoying exercise. Losing weight should be fun and exciting, not exhausting. Yes, it will take some time and effort, and it will require you to make some sacrifices because if it were easy, everyone would be thin!
So I wanted to share with you an article about “Eating Well Diet” which is a comprehensive plan designed to help you lose weight safely and permanently. I am starting of applying it now. At the core of the plan are seven essential steps—each is a result of cutting-edge research, put into practice in real people’s lives.
First step is making sure you’re ready for change. Second is setting goals. Decide what kind of weight loss makes sense for you. Weigh in, assess your eating habits and make a game plan. That will include long-term goals and more immediate goals too. Third is tracking yourself with a food diary and exercise log. Bear in mind that self-awareness is self-motivation. By keeping track of your behavior, you motivate yourself to change because you become more accountable. Fourth is eating mindfully. Healthy eating means getting a variety of foods in moderation. It is not making any food forbidden, but not going overboard on those rich foods that were once special-occasion indulgences. Fifth is committing to move more. No matter where you’re at now, you can become “an exercise person.” Sixth is getting support. This is because losing weight is challenging and we can’t expect to do it alone. And lastly is having a long term plan. This will help your successes stick for good.
