FASHION CREDITS: “HOUSE OF GUCCI” PART I
After the huge success “A Star is Born” has been, Lady Gaga appears again on the silver screen as the main charakter in Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci”.
The biographical crime film, which celebrated its release on November 24, 2021, tells the story of Italian socialite Patrizia Reggiani who was tried and convicted of orchestrating the assassination of her ex-husband's and former head of the Gucci fashion house Maurizio Gucci, portrayed by Adam Driver.
Award-winning costume designer Janty Yates put together and designed many of the looks for Gaga. Glam by Sarah Tanno-Stewart and hair by Frederic Aspiras. Here’s the first part of our fashion breakdown!
Tumblr media
Patrizia is being introduced to us as a young girl who works as an accountant at her father’s transportation business.
Gaga sported this Art Deco-printed, olive-green plunging dress with tiered hem  – a custom piece designed by Janty Yates and turned into reality by her cutter Dominic Young and his team. Janty and Dominic created the majority of Gaga’s looks for the film and you’ll see all of them here!
Tumblr media
For the masquerade party at night, the Italian-American beauty wears this custom Janty Yates x Dominic Young cocktail dress with bows on the shoulders, rendered in red silk and draped to create a beautiful knot on the front, based on the pink Chanel Fall/Winter 1987 Haute Couture dress Reggiani originally wore to a party.
Tumblr media
Next, she carried the Original Venice Shop gold metal Dulcinea mask with strass and stick (€88).
Tumblr media
Bvlgari was one of the major jewelry houses that provided some stunning pieces to be worn by Gaga in the movie! First up, these earrings set in platinum with two oval Mozambique rubies, round brilliant diamonds, and pavé set diamonds...
Tumblr media
...and matching necklace, both from the "Magnifica" high joaillerie collection.
Tumblr media
The black beaded clutch with gold metal frame is signed by Villanueva Carey, a label specializing in women’s evening bags.
Tumblr media
Most of LG’s gloves in the movie are signed by Paula Rowan whose pieces were also worn in Gaga's latest Vogue editorial! Here, Montserrat black silk opera-length gloves.
Tumblr media
She also wore the Gianvito Rossi Montecarlo D’Orsay red suede ankle tie pumps with crystal ankle strap.
Tumblr media
The two meet again at the library where she’s wearing a rare vintage Burberry brown & beige plaid trenchcoat with buckle details and silk lining.
Underneath, she wore a Denner Cashmere polo jumper in white and a bespoke Dominic Young blue pleated skirt.
Tumblr media
She paired it with the Hermés L'Entente Cordiale scarf - a print created by Loic Dubigeon which dates back to 1994. A splendid carre that takes us around France and history in exquisite detail.
Tumblr media
Also, her personal vintage bag and Bruno Magli yellow leather loafer pumps with horsebit detail!
Tumblr media
She receives a call by Maurizio while wearing this Tina pink silk camisole dress with fabulous lace trim along the neckline...
Tumblr media
...and these black fur pom pom mules from Jaimies “Les iconiques de la féminité” collection.
Tumblr media
On her and Maurizio’s first date at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Patrizia wore an Eco Italy puff sleeve blouse, custom Dominic Young laser-cut skirt in taupe, and this vintage 1970s orange knit cape with butterfly, heart and snowflake motifs – a piece from her own wardrobe!
Tumblr media
Her large straw hat is by Pieroni, the gold-tone stud earrings from H&M, her other jewelry and leather bag by Pikkio, watch by Tudor and shoes by POMPEI.
Tumblr media
She’s also clad in these Paula Rowan Aida tan suede leather gloves.
Tumblr media
The love story continues and Gaga is seen rocking this Max Mara Studio Spring/Summer 2021 Guido brown & ivory polka-dot midi dress with detachable elongated cognac-colored leather belt and concealed button front!
Her tan leather V-strap pumps are designed by Janty Yates for her.
Tumblr media
She carried her necessities inside a vintage Gucci tan leather flap clutch with gold-tone hardware.
Tumblr media
For the boat date, Gagaloo wore this romantic Sandro Dami floral-printed mini dress with ruffled, asymmetrical hem and crossover neckline.
She matched it with her aforementioned Burberry coat and Bruno Magli loafers.
Tumblr media
When meeting Rodolfo Gucci for the first time, Patrizia wears this custom Dominic Young colorful Monet-inspired printed dress with long sleeves.
Tumblr media
The waist was cinched with this rare vintage Saint Laurent red leather and gold metal belt.
Tumblr media
She also carried this vintage Gucci ivory leather purse with gold-tone metal hardware. Other accessories included Pikkio jewelry and POMPEI heels.
Tumblr media
For her infamous sex scene, Patrizia rocked this Maje Roman botanical-printed mini dress with ivory lace insets. The costume department had the dress slightly altered by giving it a V-neckline!
Gaga wore it with a La Perla Brigitta bra, matching Brazilian lace briefs and Exotique off-white lace suspender belt.
Tumblr media
The look was accessorized with another pair of H&M stud earrings...
Tumblr media
...Wolford white lace stockings, Pikkio jewelry and bespoke POMPEI heels.
Tumblr media
Here comes the bride! For her grand wedding, Patrizia wore a custom Dominic Young 80s-inspired romantic white lace appliqué hi-lo wedding dress with matching long veil, and bridal jewelry from Pikkio!
"Everything was sewn by hand so it took between eight and ten weeks to make that gown. We actually had the photographs of Patrizia herself at her actual wedding, and made a replica of the quite plain dress she wore for that as well. We didn’t decide until the morning we were shooting the wedding scene which one we were going to use. LG put both of them on, but in the end the more OTT one won – it was just overwhelmingly beautiful." Janty told Dazed.
Tumblr media
The Manolo Blahnik Hangisi white satin pumps with crystal buckle detail were the perfect bridal shoe choice.

Although police departments have become more attentive to officers’ use of excessive force against civilians, the same scrutiny has not been applied to their potential for violent behavior at home. In the nineteen-nineties, researchers found that forty-one per cent of male officers admitted that, in the previous year, they’d been physically aggressive toward their spouses, and nearly ten per cent acknowledged choking, strangling, or using—or threatening to use—a knife or a gun. But there are almost no empirical studies examining the prevalence of this sort of abuse today. Leigh Goodmark, the director of the Gender Violence Clinic, at the University of Maryland’s Carey School of Law, speculates that one reason for the dearth of research is a reluctance to fund a study that will bring attention to an uncomfortable dilemma: that, as Goodmark says, “those policing the crime and those committing it are often the same person.”
At the Griffin Police Department, concerns about domestic violence have apparently been so slight that in 2018 the department hired an officer whose personnel record showed that he had recently been accused by his child’s mother of threatening her with a gun. In many other cities, domestic violence seems to be treated as similarly insignificant. This year, an independent panel found that the typical penalty for New York City police officers found guilty of domestic violence—some had punched, kicked, choked, or threatened their victims with guns—was thirty lost vacation days. In nearly a third of cases, the officers already had a domestic-violence incident—and, in one case, eight—in their records. In the Puerto Rico Police Department, ninety-eight police officers were arrested for domestic violence between 2007 and 2010; three of them had shot and killed their wives. Only eight were fired.
Last summer, the sheriff of Los Angeles County, Alex Villanueva, articulated a common justification for not considering domestic violence as a concern: in defending his decision to employ a deputy who had been accused of stalking and physically abusing his ex-girlfriend, he told a local reporter that it was “a private relationship between two consenting adults that went bad.” The violence was seen as unrelated to job performance, an activity that could be understood only within the context of a relationship.
But the factors that lead to abuse at home—coercion, authoritarianism, a sense of entitlement to violence—are also present in the work that police officers do on the streets. It should not be surprising that domestic abuse appears to predict excessive use of force—a link that scholars have suggested should alter the way that departments respond to both kinds of aggression. The Citizens Police Data Project, in Chicago, analyzed the records of Chicago cops between 2000 and 2016 and found that officers accused of domestic abuse received fifty per cent more complaints than their colleagues for using excessive force. Philip Stinson, a professor of criminal justice at Bowling Green State University and one of the few scholars who has studied the issue, reached a similar finding: one in five officers arrested for domestic violence nationwide had also been the subject of a federal lawsuit for violating people’s civil rights.

New Post has been published on https://pba-live.com/this-is-beyond-question-the-best-pba-draft-class-ever/
This is beyond question the best PBA Draft Class ever
Tumblr media
SINCE it was organized in 1985, the Rookie Draft has given the PBA a constant flow of new ability which could either be a structure obstruct for solid groups, however more often than not a future-adjusting expansion for lower-level groups.
In any case, feeble or solid, PBA groups go into the draft with one dream: land that once-in-an age player that can modify the course of an establishment.
There were Benjie Paras of Formula Shell in 1989 and Allan Caidic for Great Taste two years sooner. There, as well, were Marlou Aquino for Ginebra in 1996 and, most as of late, June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel in the 2012 draft.
And afterward there were whole draft classes that changed the fortunes of one group as well as caused an influence move in the alliance.
So a long time since the PBA held its first draft with Sonny Cabatu developing as the top pick in general by Shell, we analyzed every single draft class to pick the best and the most profound among them.
1989 PBA Draft
Top Pick: Benjie Paras (Shell)
Newbie of the Year/Season MVP: Benjie Paras (Shell)
First Rounders: Benjie Paras, Nelson Asaytono, Zaldy Realubit, Bong Alvarez, Romy dela Rosa, Bobby Jose
Succeeding Picks: Dindo Pumaren, Elmer Cabahug, Nani Demegillo, Ricric Marata, Peter Aguilar, Ato Agustin
Top pick Benjie Paras looked bound for significance from the time he featured for the San Beda Red Cubs in the NCAA youngsters. Be that as it may, “The Tower of Power” surpassed those desires by turning into the alliance’s solitary tenderfoot MVP.
However, he wasn’t the main pearl in his group.
Nelson Asaytono, the No. 2 pick, built up a notoriety for being one of the alliance’s head gifts in his stops in Purefoods, Sunkist, and San Miguel. He finished a long profession at No. 5 in the association’s record-breaking scoring list with 12,668 focuses.
Third pick Bong Alvarez won the Comeback Player of the Year twice and earned a Mr. Quality Minutes qualification over his spells in Alaska, Sta. Lucia, Shell, San Miguel, and Ginebra. He once scored a then-record 71 focuses in one game.
The 1989 group additionally conveyed the main second rounder to win a MVP grant as Ato Agustin stowed the top individual plum in 1992 for San Miguel. He proceeded to have a long, fruitful vocation over the PBA and MBA.
At the point when you talk about this bunch, you don’t stop with these four. First-rounders Zaldy Realubit, Romy dela Rosa and Bobby Jose just as second-rounders Dindo Pumaren, Ricric Marata, Elmer Cabahug, and Peter Aguilar had fruitful professions in the ace alliance.
So profound is this bunch third-round picks Jerry Ruiz, Salvador Ramos, Tony dela Cerna and Nandi Garcia and fourth-rounder Calvin Tuadles had PBA vocations to discuss and undrafted Bennett Palad went through three years in the class.
1993 PBA Draft
Top Pick: Jun Limpot (Sta. Lucia)
New kid on the block of the Year: Jun Limpot (Sta. Lucia)
First Rounders: Jun Limpot, Vic Pablo, Johnny Abarrientos, Dwight Lago, Benny Cheng, Johnedel Cardel, Boyet Fernandez, Dickie Bachmann
Succeeding Picks: Mike Mustre, Olsen Racela, Freddie Abuda, Max Delantes, Jack Santiago, Gee Abanilla
Jun Limpot was no ifs, ands or buts the top possibility in the 1993 class subsequent to winning three UAAP MVP grants with La Salle. He sure indicated that ability for Sta. Lucia and later Purefoods, where he won his solitary vocation title.
Be that as it may, it was a player picked two determinations later, Johnny Abarrientos, who ended up being the best result of this class, winning the 1996 MVP as he quarterbacked Alaska to an uncommon Grand Slam.
Beside the two, this bunch likewise created top abilities in Olsen Racela, Vic Pablo, Boyet Fernandez, Dickie Bachmann, Mike Mustre, Freddie Abuda, and ‘Distraught’ Max Delantes.
2006 PBA Draft
Top Pick: Kelly Williams (Sta. Lucia)
New kid on the block of the Year: Kelly Williams (Sta. Lucia)
First Rounders: Kelly Williams, Arwind Santos, Joseph Yeo, LA Tenorio, Gabby Espinas, Mark Isip, Aaron Aban, Mac Andaya, Boyet Bautista, Abby Santos
Succeeding Picks: Jireh Ibanes, RJ Rizada, Ronjay Enrile, Christian Luanzon, Magnum Membrere
Everyone anticipated Kelly Williams and Arwind Santos to do incredible things in the PBA, and with them being taken with the initial two picks in the 2006 Draft, much to their dismay that their vocations will perpetually be entwined.
Williams got the headstart, winning the Rookie of the Year praises before guiding Sta. Lucia to the 2008 Philippine Cup that made him that season’s MVP plum. His vocation took a short mishap after the Fil-Am was determined to have thrombocytopenia, however he won five additional titles in a lifelong resurrection at TnT.
Tardy as Santos’ run might be, that lone set him up for more prominent things. Exchanged from Air21 to San Miguel, the double cross UAAP MVP went on to at long last catch the MVP grant in 2013 as he was an essential piece of the Beermen’s line during the 2010s and won nine PBA titles, remembering five straight for the all-Filipino meeting.
The 2006 group, notwithstanding, is something other than Williams and Santos.
Joseph Yeo was obviously perhaps the best scorer during his time, Gabby Espinas and Mark Isip were key job players any place group they wound up in, and how might we overlook LA Tenorio, who stays at the pinnacle of his forces for Ginebra.
2004 PBA Draft
Top Pick: Rich Alvarez (Shell)
New kid on the block of the Year: Rich Alvarez (Shell)
First Rounders: Rich Alvarez, James Yap, Marc Pingris, Ranidel de Ocampo, Sonny Thoss, Denver Lopez, Ervin Sotto, Bitoy Omolon, Wesley Gonzales, Gary David
Succeeding Picks: Paul Artadi, Carlo Sharma, Nino Gelig, Willy Wilson, Epok Quimpo, Warren Ybanez
Rich Alvarez was touted to be a distinct advantage the minute he showed up in the association, and which is all well and good, as he won the Rookie of the Year respects in 2005 with Shell.
Be that as it may, it was the subsequent in general pick James Yap who took his game to extraordinary statures. Taking the light from Purefoods legend Alvin Patrimonio, Yap grasped being the new substance of the establishment as he won the MVP plums in 2006 and 2010 while catching seven titles en route, featured by a fabulous hammer in 2014.
After them, Marc Pingris, Ranidel de Ocampo, Sonny Thoss, and Gary David all had strong vocations of their own, while additionally gaining callups to the national group.
Paul Artadi and Willy Wilson likewise ended up being jewels, getting a charge out of decent runs notwithstanding sliding to the second round.
2003 PBA Draft
Top Pick: Mike Cortez (Alaska)
New kid on the block of the Year: Jimmy Alapag (Talk ‘N Text)
First Rounders: Mike Cortez, Rommel Adducul, Eddie Laure, Harvey Carey, Brandon Cablay, Billy Mamaril, Enrico Villanueva, Marlon Legaspi, Reynel Hugnatan, Jimmy Alapag
Succeeding Picks: Sunday Salvacion, John Ferriols, Cyrus Baguio, Ronald Tubid
The Cool Cat might be taken first, however the Mighty Mouse had the last chuckle.
Everyone’s eyes were on Mike Cortez and Jimmy Alapag as they bannered the 2003 class, and legitimately so as they introduced themselves as the future for Alaska and Talk ‘N Text, separately. The two coordinated everybody’s desires, with Cortez winning two for the Aces before including another in his time with San Miguel, and Alapag brought home six rings on his 2011 MVP grant.
Rommel Adducul was ready to be a future star in the group and quickly won two titles with Ginebra before a nasopharynx malignant growth eased back his profession down.
It’s a class loaded up with strong pinions, with Eddie Laure, Harvey Carey, Billy Mamaril, Enrico Villanueva, and Reynel Hugnatan all figuring in the first round, while Sunday Salvacion, John Ferriols, Cyrus Baguio, and Ronald Tubid all getting a charge out of strong runs regardless of being taken in the second round.
2011 PBA Draft
Top Pick: JVee Casio (Powerade)
New kid on the block of the Year: Paul Lee (Rain or Shine)
First Rounders: JVee Casio, Paul Lee, Chris Lutz, Marcio Lassiter, Mark Barroca, Mac Baracael, Jason Ballesteros, Allein Maliksi, Reil Cervantes, Dylan Ababou
Succeeding Picks: Magi Sison, Pamboy Raymundo, Eric Salamat, Gilbert Bulawan
The “Shrewd Gilas” draft demonstrated an abundance of ability, yet it was Paul Lee – the main non-national cooperative person taken in the best five – who brought home the Rookie of the Year praises and stays as the main piece of the class to bring home the Best Player of the Conference grant. He did inevitably win a Gilas callup.
In spite of that, the group stays a’s who of top stars in the PBA today, from JVee Casio, Marcio Lassiter, Mark Barroca, to Allein Maliksi.
994 PBA Draft
Top Pick: Noli Locsin (Tondena 65 Rhum)
New kid on the block of the Year: Boybits Victoria (Swift)
First Rounders: Noli Locsin, Rey Evangelista, Boybits Victoria, Richie Ticzon, Poch Juinio, Merwin Castelo, Noynoy Falcasantos, Vince Hizon
Succeeding Picks: Wilmer Ong, Cris Bolado, Peter Naron, Udoy Belmonte
Noli Locsin represented what this 1994 class was: a dedicated pack which incredibly added to their separate groups’ prosperity. From first rounders in Rey Evangelista, Boybits Victoria, Richie Ticzon, Poch Juinio, and Vince Hizon to second adjust choices in Wilmer Ong and Cris Bolado (who won 11 titles across seven groups), this cluster were all champs.
2001 PBA Draft
Top Pick: Willie Miller (Red Bull)
New kid on the block of the Year: Mark Caguioa (Ginebra)
First Rounders: Willie Miller, Mike Hrabak, Mark Caguioa, Gilbert Demape, John Arigo, Kiko Adriano, Norman Gonzales, Marvin Ortiguerra, Roger Yap, Joey Mente
Succeeding Picks: Ricky Calimag, Jojo Tangkay, Mon Jose, Allan Salangsang, Dominic Uy, Francis Zamora, Peter June Simon, Topex Robinson, Allen Patrimonio
Huge things were normal from Willie Miller and Mark Caguioa, and they did, driving their groups to titles while winning MVP respects to their own.
Be that as it may, what made the 2001 stand apart were the uncommon discovers this clump introduced. From Roger Yap and Joey Mente being picked late in the first round, to draft takes Peter June Simon and Topex Robinson dropping to the extent the fifth round, this class indicated that there’s actually no assurance with regards to the draft.

(Written last year after Botham Jean was murdered) A Pain Unrequited Yes, unrequited is commonly used to speak of a love not given an opportunity to combine with another, and intimately become a force of two, but in this case, it will be used to describe pain unnecessarily existing, and never relinquished. Behind every hashtag; behind every death; behind every void, there is a pain unrequited. Press conferences become therapeutic means casting aside dark times of screams and tears and fear and anger. Flashbacks of horror in THAT second steal away love moments when a Mom sees her child for the first time. Reality becomes too real. Pictures in familiar places that once were a reason to smile, now become yet another purge of helpless tears. No one can say a word that helps; no one sees the frame where pain is an absolute truth. Why does life do this? Why are their murdered children swept under dirty excuse infected rugs where the eyes of the killed many live forever? Pull up a rug. Do you see Sean Bell? Philando Castille? Sandra Bland? Korryn Gaines? Walter Scott? Charleena Lyles? Rekia Boyd? Shrukri Ali? Deborah Danner? Myra Hall? Miriam Carey? Aiyana Stanley-Jones? Tamir Rice? Terence Crutcher? Matthew Ajibade? Eric Harris? Paterson Brown Jr.? William Chapman? Stephon Clark? Michael Brown? Eric Garner? Joseph Santos? Alton Sterling? Pedro Villanueva? Melissa Ventura? Anthony Nuñez? Raul Saavedra-Vargas? Vinson Ramos? Jason Pero? Paul Castaway? Zachary Bearheels? Joseph Finley Jr.? Loreal Tsingine? Tommy Le? Botham Jean? There are so many others. So much family trauma; so many bloodlines severed; so many lost chances of greatness; so many Moms affected in the worst way forever. Nothingness. Frustrating rage. Draining sorrow. Broken hearts. A reason not to live. Media lies amidst the cries for clicks; paid vacation, and no cells for murderous culprits. Go fund me pages, compassion for the occupation. Blue lives matter as if no wrong could ever be done. Where are the good cops to stop this bullshit?!!!!! As Moms go through every emotion, do killers of their children ever feel for them? Yeah, that was rhetorical. (cont on FB) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3F2vhnlXjA/?igshid=dag1pdeo7tzy

Hey! Together with my friend and colleague @LynneYun, we have been working really hard for the past few months to put together a series of events that bring together both type and graphic designers 🥳 . Please join us on Wednesday March 27 for a night of candid (and nerdy!) conversation between graphic and type designers 🤓 . Graphic designers and type designers need each other (aww!). Our relationship is a powerful force that shapes the typographic landscape. And yet, we rarely get together 🤔 It’s time we talked. . Elizabeth Carey Smith @theoriginalecs will be moderating a panel featuring, June Shin @notborninjune , Lisa Smith @lisadesignnyc , Nina Stössinger @ninastoessinger , and YuJune Park @synopticoffice on March 27th where we’ll be catching up and shedding light on our unique and collaborative process. . The speakers will be giving a brief presentation of their creative processes, and will gather around for a panel discussion. . We’ll be covering a range of questions, including: . 🔥 How do graphic designers find and select typefaces? 🔥 What do type designers have in mind when they’re designing new ones? 🔥 How do custom typefaces come to life? . We hope to see you there!!! .
Mineros barre a Huracanes de Tampico was originally published on Periódico Mirador
