Hiya! I’ve put together a list of my absolute favorite fics for Henry and some of his characters so I thought I would share them. It started as a list for myself so I could go back to them in the future. All these fics are ones I go back to and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Please enjoy!!!

Single dad Henry kinda hittin’ on da nanny? Picture Perfect by @fun-with-jane is a short fic series that’ll get you kinda hot, and kinda bothered (the slow burn..ARGH)

Getting you pregnant is, apparently, a very VERY exact science including honey-wine-&-cookies.. baby. Freyja Dag by @geek-eat-repeat

And don’t forget about timing! THE TIMING! Let’s Make One Of Our Own is the sweaty hot smut you might just crave (am I the only one ovulating right now?), fic by @littlefreya.

Sometimes it’s also just a situation of super sperm, followed by an “oopsie baby”. And when two bullheaded fuckbuddies-to-be-parents are involved, things can get pretty ..engaging: The Rules Of Engagement by @ladyreapermc (multi-chapter).

Or perhaps it’s a situation of Henry and his untameable Hunger, by @littlefreya (yes, it’s breeeeding smut my lassies -- again, forgive me for I am thirsty)

Pregnancy ain’t always sunshine and rainbows. There’s also a lot of change and self-doubt. But that’s nothing some coconut oil and love can’t fix, in Two Months by @littlefreya

The Accidental Family by me. A domestic sad-fluffy short series about memory loss -- After a motorcycle accident, Henry suddenly finds himself living the life he always dreamed of. There’s only one small hitch; he can’t remember how he got here.

And to carry on with the more sad fluff-stuff. How would Henry deal with the less rosy parts of trying to have children - like miscarriage? Negative is a beautiful fic that got me balling my eyes out and you should definitely read it if you’re in the need for some sad, sad fluff. By @oddduckthatgirl

Perhaps things didn’t quite go as planned - whatever the plan was. This sad-to-fluff fic brings you on the rollercoaster of extremely sad to fuzzy warm and happy. Better Off by @toomanystoriessolittletime

More tear-jerkers? 😭Falling Again by @deathonyourtongue follows struggling AU dad!Henry as bills keep piling and the loss of his wife haunts his every waking moment.

Back to the fun stuff - *chants* Rugby dad! Rugby dad! I couldn’t pick just one from the extensive list of rugby dad Henry fics by @hlkwrites and @achaoticaugust - let’s be honest; this should be a genre on its own, so here’s a few:

Hey, love. Written a small fic on this, more like a drabble probably. Hope you like it.

December To Remember

Pairing: Henry x Reader

Warning: None. Pure fluff.

"What are you upto?" Henry laughed as you made him wear a t-shirt you had especially gotten him for today. It was Christmas eve, your last day in London before both of you flew to Jersey for Christmas and New Year's. Despite it going to be empty for the holidays, you had decorated the house with a small tree, some tinsle and even a Mistletoe. Even Kal was wearing a red Christmas sweater because you had been taking pictures of him while Henry had gone out for some groceries. The tshirt you gave him was a plain white one with red piping on the neck and sleeves, "December to Remember" written in fancy font with a Christmas tree in the front.

You watched as he wore it, the fabric stretching to accommodate his size. His pecs bulged against the cloth and his biceps strained against the sleeves. You tried to not laugh realizing you had probably gotten him a size smaller than his, or he had bulked up even more.

Henry stood with wide arms, looking at himself in the mirror. A goofy grin spread on his face as he seemed to have realized your blunder. "Is this my Christmas present?"

"Yeah, that and," you held him by his shoulders and turned him to face the wall. "I have another one for you."

"What am I looking at here? Are you trying to tell me we need to repaint the house?" Henry tried to turn but you stopped him. You retrieved the blank paper and a marker and handed it to him.

"I'm going to write letters on your back, you just have to write it on the paper." You excitedly told him, nearly jumping in your place. You couldn't wait to see his expressions when he would finally figure it out.

"I don't know what you are getting at, love." He chuckled but obliged.

"Okay?" You asked, ready with the closed pen in your hand. You started writing on his back, tilting to the side to see if he was getting the letters right.

You spelled out, WE, which Henry was quick to figure out. It continued with the word, ARE, which was very funny to watch as Henry tried to figure out the R and the E separately.

But when he did, he glanced behind his shoulders to look at you, "We are... The Cavills?" His eyebrow arched up, incredulous at what you were making him write. "Is this going to be a hand written greeting card for my parents tomorrow?"

You rolled your eyes. This man was so handsome and knowledgeable, yet so innocent and oblivious. He hadn't even noticed that you had stopped drinking wine with him, even though he had offered one just this morning. You were also being extra careful around Kal since you didn't want to trip and fall while playfully chasing him around the house. Henry also seemed to have forgotten about the quickie in the studio bathroom more than a month ago, completely forgetting to use a condom in a rush.

"Henry, just write okay." You shook your head as he shrugged his shoulders.

You bit your lip. He was going to figure out now. As soon as you wrote the first letter and he penned it down on the paper, he turned swiftly to look at you. His mouth flew open, eyes blew wide and he was speechless.

You stood with a big grin on your face. Your hands still in air as he had turned while you were about to write the next letter.

"No." He asked slowly. His eyebrows raised, a tilt to his head. His mouth quivered, confused between forming a word, a smile or a frown.

"Yes." You said, barely containing the excitement but also loving the pure shock on his face.

"If you are playing with me, lady-" He started but you reached out in the back pocket of your jeans and pulled out a pregnancy stick. He stared at it, like it was some foreign object, unable to move or speak.

You waited for him to digest the news completely. You could imagine the shock because when you had taken the tests yourself, having missed your period for more than a week, you too had stared at the two pink lines in disbelief. Even with three more tests, all of them lined on the sink counter and showing the two lines on them, you had been shocked. But then you had tears in your eyes and had muffled your cries because Henry had been taking an afternoon nap in the bedroom.

Fresh tears began forming in your eyes as you saw Henry beginning to crumble as the realisation finally sunk in. His eyes started welling with tears and he pulled you in his arms.

"Oh God. I am so happy right now." He muttered in your neck, his voice breaking with the words. "Are we really...? Am I... Going to be a father?"

You wound your arms around his body, feeling the rush of emotions enveloping you. You nodded against his chest as he held you close to him, letting your own tears flow down your cheeks.

You both stood holding each other for a while before Henry pulled back and placed a soft kiss on your lips and kneeled in front of you. He placed a hand on your stomach, a bump barely visible, resting his head against you.

"I already can't wait to meet you, little one." He whispered as you watched him with a teary smile on your face. "I love you, baby." He said looking up at you. A soft smile on his lips, his hand still on your belly. "It certainly is going to be a december to remember."

I usually don’t share works in progress, but in the interest of getting back into the mindset of End of the World as the holidays are wrapping up, please allow me to share the beginning of the second story cycle.

This is the one that’s closest to my heart— the series has been in progress almost since I began writing fic, and resonates the most closely with me, personally. But after wrapping up the original triptych, it’s been difficult to continue even though I have it more or less planned out.

Nothing new under the sun

Tell me again, love. Tell me again about the dreams of flickering lights, the way you swear your hands are bleeding when you wake. Tell me all about the shivers that wracked you when we walked through the warehouse district at twilight. Tell me all about it, love.

When you were young, when you were smooth-faced and beautiful, love, when you had all your long life still spooled up and waiting, when you were young and stupid, you thought this mattered. August fucking Walker, agency star, golden boy. A little hard, a little cold, and goddamned gorgeous. You drifted secure in the knowledge that you were changing the world, that the agency had your back. That when you reported to your handler she was taking care of you as well.

Then it happened.

I’m sorry. Sloane’s voice tinny in your earpiece, surprising (she’s not your handler, what’s she doing, what is this) just before you lose contact. It’s just the job.

And then, for a long time, everything hurts.

It hurts, it hurts, and love they don’t care, they left you here; love does it rankle? Does it burn? Do you walk the avenues of your mind searching for the path that could’ve led you anywhere but here?

About that.

You are always, always going to end up here. You will bleed for them, love; you will learn the shapes of all your organs by sight; you will listen to the crushed-eggshell sound of the bones in all your fingers, all the little broken shards that threaten to stab through your skin.

You will cry and moan and wait for rescue; you will wait and wait and wait and no one ever comes. You are alone, you are helpless, you are hurting. You will die here.

Love. About that.

You wouldn’t have thought that something so small could be so deadly. But your hand is free, the thumb twisted aside and useless, and it’s somehow good enough to grab the needle. Good enough to stab it through your captor’s eye and fire a paralytic right into his optic nerve.

Shouldn’t have worked, but it did, because you are August fucking Walker and you are not ready to die. All your strange bones rise to the surface of your skin; all your long limbs tangle around each other as you stumble, as you fall and scrape your knees like a child (love, your tears fall and it’s all bitter salt). Love. You always land here, but love, you always leave. The way opens for you and you stumble through; you are brittle and you are broken, but here you are. Here you clutch at the scars on your belly and wander dazedly through the streets. Here you make the call and hear their voices on the line, tangling around each other in surprise.

“It’s him.”

And then, love, your voice is weak and scratchy and holding the phone to your ear costs you more than you ever thought it could, but love, you whisper down the line and make yourself a legend.

“Did you miss me?”

It’s weak and wavering, but love, it’s you.
