((It’s the final chapter of the Romulan/Vulcan forbidden lesbian romance))
“Come,” Faleen said. “There’s someone you should meet.”
Odime slinked back and allowed Falleen to lead Verelan to the acquaintance she was so eager to introduce. He stayed near the back of the room, an older man, tall with gray hair and a stern face. While they kept a normal conversational distance between themselves, he spoke in a low voice that Verelan strained to listen. “We cannot waste time on pleasantries. If you wish to make the journey to Virinat, go to the woods around the back.” With a swift and elegant motion, he slipped a small device into the palm of her hand.
Verelan fought to keep her shock from showing on her face. She answered in a tone that was both soft and frantic. “You’re both taking on a massive risk in helping me. Odime…”
“We are both aware of the risks,” he interrupted. “The choice is yours to make. I suggest that you wait until seating begins and excuse yourself, the better to slip out undetected.”
The man turned to go, and as Verelan watched him walk away her fingers curled around the device so tightly that she felt the edges dig into her skin.

Rewatching DS9 "Tears of the Prophets" for reasons....definitely not Senator Letant...**ahem cough cough ahem**
Anyhoos....I had a mini fic bunny race through my head. Not really a bunny...more like one track of the bunny tracks. I digress.
Letant is so sassy I had an idea of him being charmed by human female while speaking with her. He tries to speak with her alone and his guard tries to follow them.
He says something in that tone of his akin to "This little **beautiful in Romulan** woman is no threat to me...."
Woman says "what does that *Romulan word* mean?"
Letant says, "Wouldn't you like to know..."
So I looked up "Beautiful" in Romulan and found this page:
Link!
mrklingo.freeshell.org/romulan/engtorihan.html
BTW...Beautiful is "Verelan"....such a sexy fabulous *cough fictional but I am pretending it is real* language....
Anyways...enjoy. :) Maybe you can find this site useful if you don't already know of it!
Cheers and be well!
Link!
mrklingo.freeshell.org/romulan/engtorihan.html
Oh, you were definitely rewatching to it for Not-Letant Reasons. Definitely. For science, you might say. 👀
Oooohh, I love the sound of that! Smug, arrogant bastard...fuck, now I wanna write it! (I wouldn't dare to do so without your permission, of course. That would be just plain wrong.) God, but the way that made me blush just reading it... That's such a cute idea, friend!! And just imagine when she finally looks up the word's meaning finds out that he thinks she's beautiful... 👉👈 🥺 That little "oh" moment...
"Verelan"...I like that. That's so pretty! There's a second word there for beautiful as well: "Ouye." Tbh, both are lovely. The site you linked is one of the ones I'm currently using to compose parts of my next installment of my "Senator Letant Of Romulus" series, so definitely good find! Thank you again for sharing that idea with me!! ❤️
Have a great day, friend!!!! 💖

Tablets (Isoptin/Calan): 40 mg, 80 mg, 120 mg
Tablets, sustained release (Isoptin SR/Calan SR): 120 mg, 180 mg, 240 mg

Injection: 2.5 mg/mL
FDA Indications/Dosages:
For the treatment of vasospastic angina, unstable angina, and chronic stable angina (Oral): Initially, 80 mg every 6-8 hours. Dosage may be increased at daily or weekly intervals until optimum clinical response is obtained. The total daily dose ranges from 240-480 mg given in divided doses every 6-8 hours.
For the management of essential hypertension (Oral)*: One-half to one sustained release tablet daily in the morning, one sustained release tablet every 12 hours, or one delayed release tablet at bedtime.
For the treatment of supraventricular tachyarrhythmias (Parenteral): Adults: 0.075-0.15 mg/kg given as an intravenous bolus over two minutes, repeat with 0.15 mg/kg 30 minutes after initial dose if response is inadequate. Administer the dose over at least 3 minutes in geriatric patients to minimize untoward effects of verapamil. Children (1-15 years): 0.1-0.3 mg/kg (do not exceed 5 mg) given as an intravenous bolus over two minutes, repeat with 0.1-0.3 mg/kg (do not exceed 10 mg as a single dose) 30 minutes after initial dose if response is inadequate. Children (1 year and younger): 0.1-0.2 mg/kg given as an intravenous bolus over two minutes, repeat with 0.1-0.2 mg/kg 30 minutes after initial dose is response is inadequate (under continuous ECG monitoring).
*Only verapamil SR is indicated for hypertension. Verapamil SR is not indicated for angina or cardiac arrhythmias.
Monitor: BP
Pharmacology/Pharmacokinetics: Verapamil is a calcium-channel blocker which inhibits the movement (influx) of calcium ions across specific cellular membranes (slow channels) resulting in (1) dilation of coronary arteries and arterioles resulting in a decreased vascular resistance, (2) coronary spasm inhibition, (3) lowering of arterial blood pressure, (4) slowing of SA and AV conduction, and (5) prolongation of AV node ERP and FRP. Peak plasma levels are reached in 1-2 hours after an oral dose. Half-life ranges from 4-12 hours. Verapamil delayed release capsules are formulated to delay absorption for 4-5 hours to allow bedtime dosing to be at peak plasma levels in the morning. Verapamil is metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine and feces. 90% is bound to plasma proteins.
Drug Interactions: Therapeutic and toxic effects of BETA-BLOCKERS and prazosin may be increased when used with verapamil. The effects of non-depolarizing muscle relaxants, DIGITALIS glycosides, and carbamazepine may be increased. Grapefruit juice has little to no effect on plasma levels.
Contraindications/Precautions: Use is contraindicated in patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction, hypotension (systolic pressure less than 90 mmHg), cardiogenic shock, sick sinus syndrome (except in patients with a functioning artificial ventricular pacemaker), and second- or third-degree AV block. The injection is also contraindicated in patient with severe congestive heart failure (unless secondary to a supraventricular tachycardia amenable to verapamil therapy). Use with caution in patients with heart failure, hypotension, renal or hepatic impairment, atrial flutter/fibrillation with accessory bypass tract, atrioventricular block, and in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Pregnancy Category C.
Adverse Effects: Hypotension, peripheral edema, dizziness, headache, constipation, and nausea.
Patient Consultation:
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If it is closer to the time of your next dose than the dose you missed, skip the missed dose and return to your dosing schedule. Do not double doses.
Contact a physician if above side effects are severe or persistent.
Take each dose on an empty stomach at least one hour before of two hours after a meal.
Do not discontinue therapy without first consulting a physician.

Even when you're old and creaky?
Something I wrote for the OC swap on the Dragon Age Fanfiction discord server. Thank you for allowing me to participate. I hope you'll like this @rosella-writes I had so much fun writing about Virelan and Tulin.
Big thanks to Mafalda, Effe and Aviakey for being my awesome betas. And to Blue for helping me with the Virelan lore.
Virelan balanced on the back legs of her chair, her eyes closed and a smile playing around her lips. The energetic conversation echoing between the walls of the Herald's Rest mingled with the warm melodies of the bard's song, washing over her like a soothing balm and calming fears of an uncertain future.
When Bull's remark set off an avalanche of laughter among the other Chargers, she giggled, for their joy was too infectious to resist.
Still, she did not open her eyes or join in on the conversation, for she knew this was a dream. A wonderful, beautiful dream, but a dream nonetheless. The muffled sounds of the bard plucking at the strings, the fire burning merrily in the fireplace with no sounds following its dance, the absence of other guests in the tavern. All this, and the way the air moved with each of her breaths, revealed to Virelan the true nature of the picture unfolding before her.
But those were her friends, and the joy of their banter and playfulness bubbled in her chest. Even if she found herself in the Fade, dreaming away, she did not wish to lose the warmth of being surrounded by the people she loved. Not yet.
Not after all she had lost and endured to save the world.
She deserved to sit there a little longer, to close her eyes and revel in moments of a time long gone. To immerse herself in the joy colouring Bull's voice as he teased Krem relentlessly.
Just a few more minutes before the waking world could have her again. Before the struggles of an ever-changing world tested the strength of her resolve.
In this bliss, Virelan's skin tickled with goosebumps as ghostly fingers wrapped around her ankles. She leaned back in the chair and tensed her muscles, ready to fight any foolish demon trying to trick her.
The dream dissolved into puddles of twisted colours as she jumped up and readied herself. Virelan held her breath, listening for any telltale noise of an impending threat.
Her long ears twitched when a soft whimper crept into the eerie silence of the dream realm. The whimper stirred Virelan's soul with its familiarity, and her heart pounded against her chest as if responding to the sound. She waited, unsure what to make of it.
A second whimper followed, louder this time, reverberating off the walls of the tavern. The fear and distress dribbling from the noise stole Verelan's breath away, for she recognised the notes of her child's voice even while lost in a dream.
Without wasting more time, she closed her eyes and commanded her mind to awaken to fulfil her duty as a mother.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Virelan opened her eyes, the full moon peeked through the window, its cold threads of light caressing the walls of the small room. The tendrils of a headache climbed into her temples, but she ignored the pain.
With a sharp inhale, she jerked upright, pushing aside her blankets and the warmth hidden beneath, ready to search for her son.
It did not take too long for her to find him: Tulin kneeled beside her legs, his small fingers clutching the bed sheet with a strength that turned his knuckles white. His wide eyes spoke of a deep fear, a fear only a child could show with such sincerity.
"What's wrong, da'len?" she asked in a whisper, careful not to frighten him further. Virelan did not move, her eyes darting from one corner of the room to the other, assessing the situation.
Apart from them, the room was as empty as she had left it before falling asleep.
"Mamae, Mamae—" His lower lip trembled, but he swallowed the words, only a small whimper left behind for her to understand.
"Yes, sa'lath, I'm here."
Slowly, with boundless patience, Virelan reached for her son's trembling form. Gently, she released his hands from the sheets and placed two fingers in his small fist.
"Monster—," he mumbled, squeezing her fingers with a force that spoke of pure fear.

Who's more disobedient, Bahamut or Charizard? :|a
In PvP Demi-Bahamut is supposed to Wyrmwave the lowest health target in its huge 30yalm range. But it can be line of sighted, so hiding behind a wall is a legitimate way to hide from Bahamut's wrath. (The Megaflare when it's summoned will still hit you, though.)
Today's Patreon is Liaden Verelan, the summoner who trusted Demi-Bahamut to finish me! Thanks for letting me draw your character!

“I’d feel much better if I had a glass of cold water.”
“You look like you need it, but just so you know, the water isn’t complimentary.” Quark kept a friendly demeanor, but spoke as if he was explaining something to a child who had to hear the same lesson over and over.
“It’s fine, this is what I need.”
“Well, if you want something a little more interesting, I’m pleased to announce that our replicators are now capable of making Romulan ale. I’m curious to know what you think.”
“No thank you…I’m pregnant.”
“Am I offering congratulations or condolences?”
“I’m not sure what to make of the situation myself.”
“Well, that water will be on the house regardless.”
“How generous.” Verelan rolled her eyes.

🌔 For Verelan.
Leave a moon to talk to my future muse: 🌔 Good ending
It was mere minutes until her meeting with the infamous Romulan defector, Verelan t'Radiak. As usual, Ambassador t'Lareth was just on time--not early, and just a hair's breath from being late. Anxiety clutched at her throat as she walked down the hallway to the meeting room, flanked by her guards. She tried to focus herself on the rhythmic sound of their steps in an attempt to herself, but it simply reminded her of when she walked with the same militant stride. In fact, it was with that same stride that she had approached the room where she first met Verelan so many years ago. It was strange... all these years and all of her work to break her habit of walking like a foot soldier and the mere anticipation of seeing Verelan, who she had grieved as a shadow of her past, made it hard not to fall in step with her guards.
The door opened with a soft hiss and there was Verelan, statuesque as she was in t'Lareth's memory, though she was now much older. Still, the years had been kind to her; her features still looked sharp and her eyes still shone with secrets no one but her would ever know. There was a twist in t'Lareth's stomach and a tightening of her throat as she felt a very mild sensation of something akin to regret that she had not taken Verelan up on her offer to defect--to seek asylum in the Federation. As quickly as the feeling arose, t'Lareth suppressed it, finding herself fighting the once-familiar, now-foreign feeling of being tongue-tied. A lump formed in her throat as she stared into Verelan's green eyes and the years seemed to melt away around them. Suddenly Verelan was once again a confident and smug Starfleet captain and she was a love-struck Uhlan, violently grieving being forced to choose between love and duty.
Pulling herself painfully back into the present, t'Lareth greeted Verelan with a soft, playful smirk, "Jolan tru, my old enemy."
