Hatin’-ass University at Buffalo congratulated Deandre Ayton with highlights of his NCAA Tournament loss
Thursday night was a big night for roasting Ayton on Twitter
Deandre Ayton’s professional career began Thursday night when the Phoenix Suns made him the first overall selection of the 2018 NBA Draft. The University at Buffalo Bulls, however, were more interested in how he finished his college career.
The Bulls knocked Ayton’s four-seed Arizona Wildcats out of the 2018 NCAA Tournament in a first-round upset back in March, holding the top prospect to 14 points on 13 shots in the process. Buffalo picked up its only March Madness win in program history in a 21-point romp — a fact the team’s official Twitter account made sure to remind Ayton of moments after he was drafted.
Congrats to @DeandreAyton on being selected #1 overall in the #NBADraft by the @Suns! We hope your @NBA career starts better than your college one ended #UpsetCity #UBhornsUP pic.twitter.com/6tspOkj9No

It was the second savage roasting of Ayton on the evening. Joel Embiid appeared to shut the book on the Wildcat center earlier in the night:
Don’t compare Ayton to me either... I play DEFENSE

And then the Bulls reopened it, wrote another quick chapter, and shut it again. Of course, Ayton could still wind up with the last laugh. He’ll make approximately $46.9 million over the course of his rookie contract — nearly double the amount of money the University at Buffalo allocates for all its sports over the course of the year.
