King of Disappointment by Echos is giving me some serious Essek feels rn

I was struck with the mental image of Essek being exceedingly self-derisive and sarcastic at the Nein in his head so. i guess that'll be my interpretation here xD

Essek serving as tour guide for the Nein, showing them the sights as they make their way to the Dungeon of Penance, answering their questions and pretending himself a nice thread in the tapestry. Maybe they'll just take Yeza and get out of his hair.

the best kind of spuffy is where spike is a large predator stalking buffy like she's his prey but also he's a lovesick victorian who is all about courtship rules so like he's standing outside her house like a stalker but instead of thinking about ways to kill her like he would've before he's obsessing over how much he loves her and how to show her and what to give her. like spike doing something like killing the trio because they're bothering her is peak "i'm a demon and i love you" energy. the idea of spike adapting his usual methods of stalking the slayer and looking for chinks in her armor and coming back again and again to try his luck but it's geared to loving her, not killing her now drives me fucking nuts.

i just love the whole "i am predator. i am a demon. this is how i act and how i function. and within the framework of what i am i am trying to convey my affection." angle with spuffy and i hate how canon buffy is such a dirty coward when it comes to letting her vampire be a vampire. like.... you are dating a nosferatu idk why you're trying to make him a tad.... just accept his spooky animalistic bloodlust fueled love for what it is ?????
