-Now investigating this newly discovered Pok'emon.
A Pok'emon reportdely looking much like Mikon (referred to in Alola as “Trifox”) was reportedly sighted (but never confirmed) in the regions of Kanto and Johto decades ago. Mikon as we know it seems to be the result of breeding Keokeo (the regional Ice variant of Vulpix in Alola) with the Fire type Vulpix found in the wider world. This Small-Fox seems to evolve into Vulpix or Keokeo depending on the weather conditions where it is raised.

2. Axis

5. Quick release lever

Long Spoiler-y Review:
Trifox is a colorful action-adventure platformer from developer Glowfish Interactive and publisher Big Sugar. I played the PlayStation 5 version of this love-letter to the now-retro games of the bygone PS2/Xbox 360 era (we are getting old ya’ll). The game is also available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
You play as Trifox. You are just chilling, watching TV, when your home is attacked and your precious TV remote is stolen. So you pursue those thieving wolves through four different worlds, each consisting of four levels, on your way to Villain HQ.
Trifox can chose from three different classes, Warrior, Mage, and Engineer, or you can mix and match abilities from any and all classes. And this is really where Trifox comes into its own. As you get money, you can purchase new abilities from the different classes and map them to your four triggers to customize your fighting style. Some of the different class abilities are pretty much reskins of other class’ abilities, but if you are going for a Mage only play-though, for example, having a Mage-specific stun attack instead of relying on the Warrior or Engineer’s Stun attack is handy.
The platforming is a bit tricky at first as you may be tempted to use your dash button. While great for fighting, it is not necessary for most platforming. The game also suffers a bit from difficulty spikes as you may discover your load-out is completely unsuited for newer enemies or bosses. You can always leave the level, though, change things up, and go back in. (Or unleash the Engineer’s flamethrower turrets and dodge a lot. That usually works.) The levels do encourage multiple play throughs, with different areas to explore, especially later in the game, or just a chance to speed-run.
Overall, Trifox is a fun experience as long as you are not the type of player who needs an in-depth story to enjoy a game. Traverse the level, defeat baddies, collect coins and diamonds, buy better skills, repeat. It is short enough not to overstay its welcome and once you discover your favorite skill combo then you are set. Trifox is a great way to spend a few days, especially as a palate-cleanser between games.
