Enhance Your Wardrobe with Sustainable and Eco-Friendly T-Shirts for All
We all know that the demand for sustainable practices and eco-friendly clothing is increasing day by day. The demand for eco-friendly t-shirts has gained popularity among consumers who want to reduce their environmental impact. This is a versatile piece that can be worn on every occasion and can be styled in many different ways.
Sustainability is not just a word; it is basically a lifestyle. If you are trying to learn more about cotton t-shirts and how they can benefit you and the environment, this article is just for you. Here, we have mentioned everything regarding organic cotton and how it differs from polyester clothes. So, let's jump right into the article.
What are Eco-friendly T-shirts?
Eco-friendly t-shirts can be made from various materials; however, in our store, the t-shirts are made with organic cotton. Here, you will find organic t-shirts for men and bamboo shirts for women. The best thing about organic shirts is that they are the perfect sustainable option for conventional cotton and also polyester, which is polluting the environment.
Another great thing about cotton and sustainable t-shirts is that they are very soft to the touch and very comfortable to wear. Since these tees have longer fibers, they are much more durable than regular cotton and polyester clothes.
Why Organic Cotton T-shirts Are Good?
Now, you might be wondering why you need these organic t-shirts and why people are gravitating towards them. Then, let us tell you the fantastic benefits of organic cotton. This cotton is made without any synthetic pesticides or even fertilizers.
Cotton, when grown from the soil, can have a negative impact on soil health and water quality. Organic cotton is not developed like regular cotton; it typically needs very little water compared to conventional farming. Other than this, they also require much less toxic chemicals such as pesticides, and fertilizers are also used in very little quantity. These tees are the perfect materials that have a lower environmental impact.
Choosing this material over the other can also reduce the carbon footprint and contribute to a better and more sustainable fashion industry. They are also durable than the normal t-shirts this means that you will be able to save your money.
Lastly, if you choose these companies making these organic t-shirts, you are supporting small businesses and prioritizing the brands that follow these ethical practices.
How Recycled Polyester is Different from Organic Cotton?
Now, the question comes: what is the difference between recycled polyester and organic cotton? The recycled polyester is derived from post-consumer plastic bottles. The material is broken down from the smaller pellets' plastic bottles and then spun into the fibers. With the help of this material, they minimize the plastic waste from landfills and the sea. This is a good way through which the environmental burden is reduced.
Cotton fiber is the best sustainable option. The best thing about cotton making is that it is made from very little water and uses a very minimal amount of pesticides. This is why it is great for human health and also for the environment. The cotton t-shirts are also biodegradable, which makes them the best choice for manufacturers and consumers.
Now, when choosing a more sustainable material than cotton and bamboo t-shirts, take the lead; another significant benefit you get from these tees is that they are very comfortable to wear. The material is also very breathable, making it perfect for everyday wear.
Cotton and bamboo t-shirts are also timeless to appeal. This means that the cotton t-shirts again take the lead when fashion comes. They look incredibly stylish and give an elegant look to your entire attire. Hence, if you are trying to find t-shirts that look very high quality and make you look very elegant, then make sure you get the cotton T-shirts for yourself.
Where to get the Best and High-Quality Cotton T-shirts From?
After knowing the benefits of organic cotton t-shirts and how these tees are different from recycled polyester, you might wonder where to find these organic cotton. PLB Store is where you will find the highest quality and the most durable t-shirts.
They have clothing for both men and women; for the men, they have t-shirts made from supreme quality organic cotton t-shirts, and for women, they have the highest quality bamboo t-shirts. The best thing about this brand is that they have a variety of clothes and unique designs to choose from. They also offer the best prices to their customers.
When you visit their website, you will see hoodies, a section for kids' clothing, caps, and even bags. Hence, this is a fantastic designer store that offers a variety of clothing items.
Final Words:
People understand how the new lifestyle impacts the environment as the world advances. This is why people are gravitating towards a sustainable lifestyle. One thing that people are changing is the clothes that they are wearing. Now, people are choosing more sustainable materials with a low environmental impact. This is why the organic cottont-shirts are the best option. Hence, we hope this article was beneficial for you in learning how organic clothing is a better option for you.

In today's digital age, shopping for clothing has never been more convenient. One of the wardrobe staples that nearly everyone has is the classic white T-shirt. Whether you're looking for a casual everyday tee or a versatile piece to dress up or down, the online marketplace offers an array of options to suit your style and budget.
Tumblr media
1: Know Your Preferences Before diving into the vast online market, it's crucial to define your preferences and requirements for a white T-shirt. Consider factors such as:
Fit: Do you prefer a slim fit, relaxed fit, or oversized T-shirt?
Material: Are you looking for a cotton T-shirt, a blend, or a specialty fabric like organic cotton or bamboo?
Style: What neck style suits you best - crewneck, V-neck, or Henley?
Sleeve Length: Do you prefer short sleeves, long sleeves, or sleeveless?
Brand Preferences: Are you loyal to specific brands known for quality or sustainability?
2: Set a Budget
Online shopping can be a rabbit hole, and it's easy to get carried away. To avoid overspending, set a budget for your white T-shirt purchase. Keep in mind that prices can vary widely, depending on factors like brand, material, and design. By establishing a budget beforehand, you'll be better equipped to make choices that align with your financial goals.
Explore Online Marketplaces There are countless online marketplaces to choose from, each with its own advantages. Popular options include:
Amazon: Offers a wide variety of brands and price points, often with customer reviews to guide your decision.
Sustainable Brands: Explore eco-conscious brands like Patagonia, Everlane, and Organic Basics if you prioritize sustainability.
Specialty Shops: Consider niche shops that cater to specific styles or materials for a unique find.
Read Reviews and Ratings: Customer reviews and ratings are invaluable when shopping online. They provide insights into the fit, quality, and overall satisfaction of previous buyers. Look for reviews that mention factors important to you, such as comfort, durability, and color retention. While individual experiences may vary, a consensus of positive reviews can indicate a reliable choice.
Check for Sales and Discounts: Online retailers frequently offer sales, discounts, and promotions. Before making your purchase, search for coupon codes, subscribe to newsletters for first-time buyer discounts, or check if the product you want is part of a seasonal sale. These strategies can help you save money while still getting the white T-shirt you desire.
Consider Sustainable and Ethical Options If sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices are important to you, prioritize brands that align with these values. Sustainable white T-shirts are often made from organic cotton, recycled materials, or through fair labor practices. While they may have a higher upfront cost, the long-term environmental and ethical benefits make them a worthy investment.
Be Mindful of Sizing Sizing can be a tricky aspect of online shopping, as it varies between brands and even individual items. To ensure a good fit, consult the size chart provided by the retailer. If available, read reviews from customers who mention sizing to get a better idea of whether you should size up or down. Some brands also offer free returns or exchanges, providing a safety net if the fit isn't perfect.
8: Check Return and Exchange Policies Before finalizing your purchase, familiarize yourself with the retailer's return and exchange policies. Ensure that you have the option to return or exchange the T-shirt if it doesn't meet your expectations. Some online stores offer hassle-free returns, while others may have stricter policies, so it's crucial to know the terms in advance.
Conclusion: Online T-shirt shopping offers unparalleled convenience and access to a vast array of options. By following these key points, you can navigate the online marketplace with confidence, find the perfect white tee that suits your style, budget, and values, and make a purchase you'll be satisfied with for years to come. So, start your online shopping journey armed with knowledge and get ready to upgrade your wardrobe with the ideal white T-shirt!

A Guide to Sustainable T-Shirts Online in Ireland: Materials and Brands
Tumblr media
Summary: The Internet is raving about sustainable t-shirts, but very few have spared thoughts about them in particular. Today, as we dedicate an article towards understanding them, let us hope the readers get some clarity on the matter.
Body: One of the most worn outfits by men and women is a T-shirt. The fact it can be sported on its own and as a base for plenty of attires is what makes it the most versatile. Yet, imagine the plight of workers who are exploited for manufacturing them.
According to the World Bank Group, the apparel industry employs 60 million workers, and 97% of brands greenwash themselves (2021 data). They portray themselves as fashion and retail brands complying with CSR standards and strict codes of conduct, but none are effective enough to prohibit forced labour. An advocacy group in the name of KnowTheChain claimed it.
Do you think they deserve such exploitation? If not, it’s high time you shift your preference to sustainable ones. The availability of ethically produced T-shirts online in Ireland makes it a cinch to replace fast fashion pieces with organic cotton tees. The best thing about them is that they match the style and encourage everyone to permanently take an eco-friendly approach to fashion. Let’s learn more about them in this comprehensive guide.
What is a Sustainable T-Shirt? In Ireland, sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies and other garments are pretty common. What is not yet picking up pace are their sustainable versions. Today, as we take up the topic of sustainable t-shirts, let us learn more about them.
Manufactured responsibly using eco-friendly materials by keeping the planet, community and workers in mind, sustainable t-shirts are garments for eco-aware people. Their sustainability hardly ends with production and delivery. How they are consumed matters a lot.
In a world where unsustainable t-shirts are available at dirt cheap prices and seen mostly as disposable garments, ethically manufactured ones are a bit expensive but worth every penny. They are durable and meant for years of wearing, often to be remixed with different outfits. The focus of such garments is to minimise the negative impacts of the apparel industry on the planet. They are also used to promote social responsibility throughout their lifecycle. Additionally, they are made by employing practices that conserve resources, support Fair Trade and lower pollution.
Materials Making up the Most SustainableT-shirts Online in Ireland The fast fashion era is mostly dominated by traditionally grown cotton and polyester. Thanks to eco-friendly t-shirts, materials like the following are finding significance in manufacturing sustainable casuals:
Tencel, a modal fabric
Organic cotton, a fabric having no traces of pesticides and using 91% less water
Bamboo
Recycled materials, like recycled polyester, hemp, nylon, cotton, Tencel and more
Reunion – A Sustainable Brand, Supplying Ethically Made T-Shirts
This independent Irish clothing brand features a vast collection of unisex organic cotton tees, all of which are Fair Trade certified. While some are ethically manufactured in Portugal, others are produced in SA 8000-certified Indian factories. Only the designs are done in Cork, Ireland, by leveraging the cut-and-sew method.
Available in various colours, they are staplewear in regular fits. The designs on them are minimal yet printed with chemical-free inks. Raw organic and fair trade cotton has been used as the primary fabric to tailor them. From the outset, they may appear as basic tees, but only those who know how to style them will realise their worth.
Other brands you may consider are listed below:
Grown
Due South
Native Denims
Just as in Ireland, sweatshirts are the go-to outfit for men and women; basic tees are equally sought-after garments. So, if people jointly work towards switching their choices to sustainable tees, they can together make a difference in the world.
Author Bio: The author enjoys shopping staple pants, hoodies, sweatshirts and T-shirts online in Ireland, most of which are eco-friendly. She feels her buying experience is incomplete without her penning it down. She often expresses herself through articles, guiding her readers with her insights and leading them towards the path of sustainability.

The milk is extracted from milk farms as a waste product. The technology directly turns the milk waste into the fiber. The fibers extracted are spun into flexible yarn. The yarn is colored with eco-friendly dyes and transformed into soft, moisture-wicking, comfortable, allergen-free t-shirts.

What brands sleepwear you like?
For many years, sleepwear was merely an afterthought. It's not that the industry completely ignored the category, but let's just say there weren't too many on-trend sartorial solutions for the perpetual sloth. As a result, many of us crept into our beds wearing frumpy college T-shirts and baggy sweats. It wasn't cute, and god forbid we had to run to the bodega for milk or needed a caffeine fix.

Tumblr media
published December 28th 2018
2018  was an exciting year for Good On You: we launched in Europe and rated more brands than ever before, thanks to your recommendations. So, to wrap up the year, we’ve compiled a list of YOUR favourite ethical brands of 2018! Read on to discover who you’ve been searching for!
Favourite Womenswear & Menswear
Kowtow
Kiwi brand Kowtow designs elegant and timeless womenswear, as well as its own range of ceramics. It uses organic, fair trade cotton and non-toxic  GOTS approved dyes to produce its clothes. All its garments are made in SA8000  approved factories in India and the brand does not use any animal products. Thanks to this, it rates ‘Great’ on all fronts, which is why  Kowtow is one of our (and your) favourites!
Reformation
LA-based Reformation makes killer clothes, that don’t kill the environment. Some of the brand’s products are Bluesign and Oeko-Tex Standard 100. It also uses eco-friendly materials, like Tencel and recycled fabrics in its dresses, jumpsuits, tops, bottoms and wedding dresses.
Thought
If you are looking for thoughtfully designed, easy to wear women’s and men’s outfits, then look no further than Thought. The brand uses eco-friendly materials and its high-quality, long-lasting products. It has also taken meaningful actions to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions from its supply chain, such as transporting its products by sea freight.
Amour Vert
Based in San Francisco, Amour Vert makes sustainable staples, using only eco-friendly materials, including organic cotton, Tencel and recycled polyester. It also participates in American Forests and plants a tree for every purchase of a t-shirt.
Witchery
Witchery has set some good environmental policies, measuring its direct and indirect emissions and reporting to the Carbon Disclosure Project. It also traces some of its supply chains and ensures that no subcontracting occurs, or if it does, that it adheres to its standards.
People Tree
Sustainable fashion pioneer and leader People Tree is a ‘Great’ ethical brand and one of our favourites too. The brand uses eco-friendly materials and addresses the labour risks by adopting the Fairtrade International –  Small Producers Organisations Code of Conduct.
Favourite Underwear
PACT
PACT’s underwear and activewear are almost 100% made from GOTS certified organic cotton. The brand has a range of basics for men, women and babies, and it does not use any animal products.
Boody
Made from organically grown bamboo, Boody is a clothing brand that supports the trend for all things green and ethical. It is Oeko Tex Standard 100  certified, supports 1% For The Planet and uses recycled packaging.
HARA
HARA  is a clothing label designed for you and our earth collectively. Its super comfy underwear are made using low impact and non-toxic dyes.
Favourite Outdoor and Sportswear
Adidas
When thinking about ethical brands, Adidas might not be one of the brands we think about first! Yet, the brand has set some good environmental and labour standards over the years, making it better than its rival, Nike. The brand is a founding member o the Better Cotton Initiative and Sustainable Apparel Coalition and has made a public commitment to reduce its direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions in absolute terms by 15% by 2020.
Patagonia
Another ethical fashion pioneer and leader is Patagonia. The B Corporation outdoor wear retailer has all its cotton GOTS certified organic and is Bluesign certified for 56% of its fabrics. The brand is also a member of 1% For The Planet and of the FLA Workplace Code of Conduct. We love Patagonia ’s philosophy, always aiming to do no harm and protect our planet.
Kathmandu
New  Zealand-based Kathmandu traces most of its supply chain, including all of its final stage, and publicly list some of its supplies, which is why it received a ‘Good’ rating in terms of labour, The brand has also committed to reducing its carbon emissions by 2020.
Favourite Denim
Nudie Jeans
Nudie  Jeans gives you the naked truth about denim, using a high-proportion of eco-friendly materials, including GOTS certified cotton, limiting the amount of chemicals, water and wastewater used in production.
Nobody Denim
Nobody Denim has a longstanding commitment to ethical manufacturing principles. It’s one of the brands worn by Meghan Markle during her tour down under in October. The brand offers a unique vision of responsible design. It is certified by Ethical Clothing Australia and uses a low-waste cutting technique to minimise textile waste.
Favourite Shoes
Reebok
Reebok is also one brand we don’t necessarily think of when looking for ethical fashion brands. Partially certified by Bluesign, it is also one of the founding members of the Better Cotton Initiative and Sustainable  Apparel Coalition.
Etiko
Etiko is a designer of organic, eco-friendly and fair trade shoes and clothing. The brand rates ‘Great’ on all fronts, being entirely GOTS  certified, having adopted a Code of Conduct covering all the ILO  principles, ensuring fair labour conditions and using no animal products.
Veja
Paris-based Veja creates cool and trendy ecological and fair trade sneakers and accessories. The brand is one of our favourite French brands as it uses a high-proportion of eco-friendly materials and as it has adopted a robust Code of Conduct, making sure a large proportion of its supplies pay a living wage.
Favourite Accessories
Mimco
Mimco,  part of the Country Road Group is committed to making more conscious choices. The brand is taking steps to reduce its environmental impact and makes sure its products are long-lasting. It also received the top score for its Supplier Code of Conduct in the 2018 Ethical Fashion report,  ensuring the ethical treatment of its workers in its supply chain. The brand designs cool ethical eyewear, making it one of your favourites.
There you have it, the 20 most searched for ethical brands of 2018! We look forward to seeing what the new year brings us and what new amazing ethical brands we are going to discover. 2019, bring it on!

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, and fashion brands across the world are celebrating with the announcement of various initiatives and collections to help make fashion more earth-friendly. Here’s how some of your favourite Canadian fashion brands are marking Earth Day 2020:
Hilary MacMillan

Toronto designer Hilary MacMillan has announced the launch of a new sustainable basics collection today. The first item in the collection is the brand’s best-selling blouse, which has been reimagined in 100 per cent cupro, a biodegradable, cruelty-free silk alternative. It is available in sizes XS-4X and in five colours, each of which was achieved by using scrap onion skins, rice, bamboo, grapes and other natural ingredients. Going one step further, the fabric manufacturer used by MacMillan for the blouses received a 99.8 per cent zero-emissions rating last year, thanks to its use of fibre waste to fuel power generation. In a release, the designer said, “Since starting the Hilary MacMillan label, I’ve been consciously aware of our environmental impact and carbon footprint. As we evolved into a cruelty-free brand, it was a natural choice to further explore what it means to be a brand participating in eco-conscious and sustainable practices and I’m proud to say this collection is the beginning of a very important journey for [us].”

Soia & Kyo
Montreal-based outerwear brand Soia & Kyo announced the launch of a brand new earth-friendly category today. In a series of Instagram Stories, the brand revealed that it will launch its first Thermolite collection in the Fall. In the post, the brand wrote that they are “focusing our efforts for a more sustainable approach towards our products.” Pieces in the collection are made from 100 per cent recycled materials – including an eco-puffer crafted with a lining made using 100 per cent recycled pre-consumer materials and fibre fill made using 100 per cent recycled water bottles. The brand says the latter “delivers outstanding warmth while being extremely lightweight.” There’s also a ‘coatigan’ on offer come fall, made with high-quality yarn crafted from more than 70 per cent sustainable materials.

Canada Goose
Canada Goose has announced several earth-friendly initiatives today, with perhaps the most exciting being the introduction of reclaimed fur in 2022. In a press release, the brand announced that it plans “to introduce reclaimed fur into its supply chain, which includes beginning to manufacture parkas using reclaimed fur and ending the purchasing of new fur.” It also revealed that it plans to introduce a consumer buy-back program for fur in the coming months. In addition to this new initiative, the brand also announced it plans to be carbon neutral by 2025, plastic-free across all of its facilities and have 90 per cent of its fabrics bluesign-approved for responsible and sustainable practices by the same year.
Find out more about the brand’s sustainable practices here.
Internationally, a number of brands also made announcements regarding Earth Day-inspired initiatives:
Capri Holdings – which owns Michael Kors, Versace and Jimmy Choo – announced its first group-wide corporate social responsibility strategy today that includes ensuring all plastic is recyclable, compostable, recycled or reusable by 2025, a reduction in water use, supply chain traceability, supply chain transparency in relation to human rights and fair wages, fostering diversity and inclusion across all of its brands, and sourcing a minimum of 95 per cent of its leather from certified tanneries.
Nordstrom announced five new goals it plans to meet by 2025: Set a science-based target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce single use plastic by 50 per cent, use sustainably sourced raw materials in half of the Nordstrom Made products, extend the life of 250 tons of clothing, ensure 15 per cent of all product is considered sustainable and donate USD$1 million to support textile recycling innovation.
Just last week, New Zealand-American footwear company Allbirds announced a new Carbon Footprint program whereby it will now label every product it makes with information on its carbon footprint. The team developed a Life Cycle Assessment tool with carbon experts to measure the carbon intensity of every step of the production cycle, from materials to development, manufacturing and end of life to help consumers make more informed choices.
Today, Vivienne Westwood announced it is teaming up with non-profit organization Canopy, which works to protect forests, species and climate, to help bring more attention to the link between clothing production and forest destruction. The partnership was announced via a video created by Aidan Zamiri and features spoken word artist, model and visibility activist Kai Isaiah Jamal. Watch it below:

Plus, Burberry also announced the launch of a new sustainable collection today, called ReBurberry Edit.

Brand Research
I have begun doing some brand research which relates to our new updated trend ‘Restorative Colour’ to enable us to get an idea of which direction our brand is going in. It will also help spark some inspiration within the group, allowing us to visually see what our brand could look like. I have created some visual mood boards, that are in the next post.
Hara The Label
About/ Inspirations
Founded in 2016 after Allie (the founder) was travelling around India, she saw first hand the devasting effects the fashion industry was having on the environment, chemical runoffs polluting water sources, a large amount of plastic use. She spent a lot of time on cotton farms, interacting with farmers trying to get a better understanding of how the industry works. Allie was inspired to create a solution, design meets sustainability. She explored sustainable material options, natural dyes and how to produce clothes sustainably & ethically.
‘HARA, meaning green in Hindi, is a clothing label designed for you and our earth collectively. Consciously creating pieces that are soft and beautiful with sustainable and ethical practices at the core. We strive from seed to store to empower lives and rejuvenate the earth.
Our mission is to use the label as a platform to bring change, awareness and education to the issues within the fashion industry.’ Hara The Label.
Empowering women seems to be a focal point on their social media, so I suppose this would also drive their inspirations/ inspire others. They touch on taboo female subjects & also touch on daily struggles females face in society. They are actively supporting and driving for change.
Customer
Conscious individuals, with the earth in mind. Wanting to be a part of the change that Hara The Label is using as their driving force. Females. As the brand is Australian I had a look on their Instagram page to also get a better understand of who their customer is. I would say their age range is about 18-30′s, young empowered women, who are fighting against society's beauty standards along with wanting to help save the planet.
Price
£7.77-£46.63 The cheapest item is a scrunchie & the most expensive is their flares. Very Affordable.
Product
Sustainable intimates & loungewear.  All items are made out of bamboo fabric. Alongside this, they also dye their fabrics themselves at an in-house studio in Australia. The plants they use are currently:
Turmeric
Indigo
Madder Root
‘Using natural dyes is an important step in the production of our garments as they have a minimal environmental impact as they come from nature, are biodegradable and disposing of them does not cause pollution.’ Hara The Label
Promotions
The brand does not seem to offer promotions or deals on their items. However, I believe their ethos is a very strong driving force which women want to support & be a part of. Inclusivity is powerful within this brand. On their site, you have the chance to 1 out of 10 of their underwear sets if you sign up to their newsletters.
They offer free worldwide shipping for orders over £30.
Place
Online on their own site, https://www.harathelabel.com.au/, Worldwide Shipping. They also stock in a few other eco-conscious stores around the world. For Example London- Know The Origin.  The fact they are stocked on other eco-conscious stores makes me think that they are recognised for what they stand for, they are reaching other customer markets by being featured on different sites.
Nico Underwear
About/ Inspirations
Nico Underwear was founded in 2012. The brand produces high-quality basics & underwear which offer clean lines, luxe fabrics & earthy colours which are needed for every day.
‘Form & Function coexist, with pieces that not only look beautiful but feel beautiful to wear too’ Nico Underwear
The brand are committed to supporting & driving ethical, sustainable transparency in the fashion industry.
Made in Australia- ‘As an Australian label, we want to support Australian garment manufacturers. We work with a variety of makers here in Australia who are super skilled and experienced. From swimwear production in Brisbane, to fabric knitting in Melbourne, we track down the makers who are the best at what they do.’ Nico Undewear
Made In India- ‘NICO works with an ethical supply chain in Tirupur, India to produce our garments. Our natural dyers are a small scale group of artisans.’ Nico Underwear
Made in Bangladesh- ‘Our socks are produced in Bangladesh by an environmentally and ethically responsible garment factory. They are one of the only vertically integrated sock manufacturers in the region - by using their own spinning mill to produce recycled cotton yarn, they are able to minimise the transportation of goods and save on resources.’ Nico Underwear.
Nico are committed to supporting the growth of safe working environments for those in developing countries and also offering great opportunities.
Customer
Female, eco-conscious individuals, who are striving for change without compromising luxe quality. Due to being a slightly higher price point for individual items I would say the age is around 25-35.
Promotions
Upon entering the site, they have a pop up which gives you the option to put your email in to receive £10 off your first order, by using a discount code that you will receive in your welcome email.
Pack of 3 Bras for £89.02. Saving you a small amount if you bought them all individually. They do this offer for different styles of underwear items.
Price
£16.56- £124.22
The cheapest item is an individual thong & the most expensive is a pack of 3 underwire bras.
Product
Basics- T-shirts
Underwear & Swimwear.
They use organic cotton which is GOTS certified. They also use 100% chemical-free dyes, which are created by an artisanal group in India. Ingredients & materials used throughout the process are plant-based. For example, they create yellow tones by using Tacoma flowers which are handpicked, dried and soaked in rainwater in the ground which extracts the colour.
Place
online at https://nicounderwear.com/collections/shop.
D’Jerf Avenue
About/ Inspirations
D’Jerf Avenue was created in 2019. The brand celebrates non-seasonal ready to wear pieces which are created out of love for vintage & the perfect basics. They are reaching towards creating items that feel timeless & will last years to come, they are aiming to be the go-to basic in our wardrobes.
Everything is ethically produced & manufactured in Portugal. Portugal follows strict European laws & policies regarding labour relation practices.
D’Jerf Avenue does not mass produce as they always prioritise ethical practices, their goal is to minimize waste by creating limited collections. Alongside this their hangtag, security tag and all elements of their packaging are made from 100% recycled materials.
In the effort to empower women and celebrate individuality/ imperfections, they do no retouch any images that they use on their website or socials, their photos come straight from the camera roll.
‘We don’t believe in editing bodies, pimples, or even the clothing. This is us. Just the way we are. And we are proud.’ D’Jerf Avenue.
Customer
Females who are in their career, earning money. 22-35.
Empowered, Conscious women who are embracing timeless styles that they can style in endless ways for many seasons to come.
‘Embody the confident, chic & laid back woman on the go’ D’Jerf Avenue.
Price
£39-£145
The cheapest item is a T-shirt & the most expensive is a blazer.
Product
Basic, laid back, day to day items.  Non Seasonal collections. T-Shirts, Basic Vest, Trousers & Blazers. There are currently only 10 items available on their site.
Promotions
Free Delivery on orders over £180
Place
Online at https://djerfavenue.com/uk/ .
How does it relate?
I feel as though these 3 brands relate to our brand as we have a similar brand ethos. Djerf Avenue wants to make women feel empowered by embracing who they are, they are also conscious about making timeless styles that can be worn season to season, this element is in high demand, considering the environmental state of our planet currently. Djerf Avenue is responding to this by hopefully creating garments that will last you, classics that you wont have to renew next season.
Nico Underwear is passionate about supporting the growth of safe working environments for those in developing countries and also offering great opportunities. This is a response to so many fast fashion brands using unsafe factories resulting in devastation, costing peoples lives. They care about the people who work for them, they are open & honest about who is making their clothes & where they are coming from. Which is important to be clear about and something that should be spoken about more often. I feel as though people often turn a blind eye to working conditions as it doesn't directly affect them, yet when a brand is transparent about it, it makes you wonder why other brands are not?
Hara The Label was created as a first hand experience from seeing the devasting effects the fashion industry was having on the environment in India. Hara The Label is built on having sustainability at its core, I think when a person witnesses or experiences something themselves, it ignites a fire within them, they become passionate about it as they can relate it. That's why it was important for us to really consider who our demographic was, as we wanted to be able to relate to them.
From this research, I can see that each brand was created as a response or a need for change. In our world now, it is no secret that the fashion industry requires change. Which we ‘Fika’ is hopefully responding to, we are offering sustainable alternatives, something that is on the rise, judging by these successful brands. In addition to this, we are also promoting a healthier balance in life, encouraging individuals to look after their mental health, spending less time scrolling, more time reading or journaling or being creative.
