big day in terms of feeling like i'm fucking everything up.

it's not actually that serious i guess, not like i'm fucking my whole life up, just maybe fucking up my music. today i did a/b some of the older versions of songs and realized i liked some of those guitar tones, at least a little. there's something to their smudginess. so i spent some of today trying to get that back and get something new for some of the songs that i think need those sounds back. but i think i'm getting there at least. i went back to 5 songs today and touched them up, and did remaster one of the last songs from the old batch that had very little in common with these newer songs in terms of sounds i'm using (but i think the sound is clearly still in line, ofc) and now there's 3 left (in actuality there's 2 and 1 song needs to just be written still)

and reminding myself of that last song, there's something there i forgot, i think both of these songs have untouched versions of the guitar tone i want to go back to, so i can copy those and save them and touch them up. wow. a huge relief off my shoulders, i'm pretty sure at least. i hope. i should check so i can live with the disappointment now. if there is disappointment.

waiting for ableton to open up and listneing to neo-no-wave classic (not really a classic cuz no one talks about it but no one talks about neo-no-wave (not so neo anymore anyways)) mutators - secret life. ableton has opened. let'ssee.

and i was right about one, it does have a super prehistoric version of the preset/distortion chain (missing one of the distorions i started using a ton later on but that should be fine) and another song that turned into another song, i remembered, also should have it. and it does and i feel a huge relief, i can now put this back in things that i think need it. jump for joyyy. today is not super miserable.

it's not like it's actually that bad. i just have to tell myself that these are all problems i can fix, i can make everything sound as good as the songs that are effortlessly good sounding, i will get there, it just needs time. i think the amount of tracks i really have to be worried about is less than what i feel. i was listening and it's just the ones i expect. the very hardcore ones are where the most problems are, mostly a problem of guitars not hitting hard enough, which i think can be solved with one of today's newer presets also i think.

i think i really need to get a way to play guitar, though, honestly. or maybe what i need is a way to route out of my computer to effects. that's gotta be super cheap, right (ha ha ha (it'd cost so much money and i only have pennies to my name)). but it is a fantasy. i would really like to be able to route out to a rat or something maybe. or find a couple pedals and use those w/ synths. that would be so beautiful.

now i'm thinking if i could ask my friend to see if that would be possible, i could some un-effected stems and try at least, with his pedals and interface, if i could figure out a way to make it a return chain somehow. it looks like i could use the jack that way.

i've sent him the message, i guess it's potential that i get some cool sounds out of this, i shouldn't depend on it. i also shouldn't get discouraged if they do sound 'better' or whatever. they're bound to cuz non digital distortion is usually a little more musical, but it could come out way awful or something.

the way i'm thinking about it, this could be really good for layering, where either these newer tracks get used as the main and the super digitally distorted versions are beneath to add emphasis or texture. cuz i do like them, and they have things going on i can't get out of a rat or fuzz war or like, i think my friend has a tube screamer too. but they can probably add something. i hope. i should think about a list of what songs would need that the most and get those tracks exported w/ minimal eqing on them i think.

or whateverrrrrr.

i just really want to be able to listen to my songs again and only think about what i should be doing on them vocally.

anyways i am way tired now. i keep staying up too late.

(I have and like a lot of solid state pedals, but never use them. To hear this, it's important to compare directly, because taken alone, solid state pedals obviously can sound very fine. Solid state pedals sound kind of boxy, grainy and narrow compared to tube pedals/amps which sound more clear and open. Real tube pedals all sound more natural than transistor pedals. I personally play a SIB CUDA, a KOCH Superlead (these are great), sometimes a Blackstar HT Dual (great rocker), I used a SD Twin Tube before (not as good, but still better than solid state pedals).Ī discontinued VOX straight6 is great for fat low gain or clean. They can sound as great as any great tube amp, if they are put in front of a tube power amp.

These work with real tubes at full voltage and are the same like a tube preamp section. When buying a tube pedal, it's important to know if it's one of these or a real tube driven pedal. Matter of taste, but not the same as a real tube amp. These have no true tube sound, because they don't run on full voltage and therefore sound different. Ibanez tube king, Butler tube driver, etc. pedals with an alibi or starved mode tubeĮx. Since a 7660S won't work in this PS layout This goes on the back burner for now. I runs the tube on low power, it is basically a regular OD except the tube kind of smooths it out. I still have an old Ibanez tube king, I like it for gainy stuff. I got this after I sold my MK IV, and it really didn't sound like "typical" boogie stuff to me, like the MK stuff. But as someone said, the high gain channel was real "metal" sounding. Just be careful with the Master Volume control, because these things have the ability to REALLY hit the front end of your amp hard! In fact, they can drive a speaker as about a 1-watt tube practice amp with GREAT TONE.I had the Mesa one. This one has it's original (and wonderful) General Electric 12AX7's and they still test as better than new in my Hickock TV7 tester. There has never been a finer, more powerful actual tube overdrive pedal made. Oh, and there's the VERY powerful bass, middle, and treble controls as well as a very fender-like "bright" switch.

Unless you follow my main blog, you probably didn’t see my update. I was going to post one here after we got settled, but I’ve been trying to settle into be a mom of a newborn again.

Atlas Orion, who will go by Orion, born at 9:42 am via c-section. He weighs 7 lbs 7 oz and is 20 inches long. He weighs a little less than he big brother did, but is longer than big brother was.

He looks just like his brother, but most people say he looks like me, for now.

He’s already such a chill kid. He barely makes a peep, unless it comes to getting his diaper changed. Then he is a screamer.

My recovery this time around is a lot tougher than my first c-section with my oldest. I’m in a lot more pain because of the scar tissue that was cut through. I am walking around like an old lady. Trying not to stay hunched over, but moving at a slow pace.

I also got my tubes tied or a tubal ligation, and I can feel the aches from that. I’m not on super strong pain meds, because I am nursing.

But Orion is doing great. Though he is under a 72 hour watch because I started taking anxiety medication 3 weeks ago and they have to make sure he isn’t having severe withdrawal symptoms. I haven’t noticed anything and neither has my husband. The pediatrician that is watching over him, says he looks great, but still has to stay until Thursday so I will be staying until then as well.

I’m just so happy that my littlest dude is here and I can’t wait to go home and love on my biggest dude.

I was sitting in Nikki’s dressing room, waiting for him to come back from the stage. I wanted to attempt to smooth things over with him. I could hear the music all the way from backstage and behind closed doors, Mötley was currently performing ‘Wild Side’ which meant they were a few songs away from ending the night.

I sighed as I picked at my nails, readjusting the rings on my fingers, when there was a knock on the door.

“Come in!” I yelled, not bothering to get up and answer it.

“Hey, they said I’d find you in here.” I turned around as the back of the couch was facing the door. I saw Slash in the door frame, leaning against it with a can of beer in his hand.

“Just waiting for Nikki...” I told him as he shook his head, “Why? He was such an asshole to you at dinner.” I watched as he entered the dressing room, closing the door and coming to sit right next to me on the couch.

I shrugged, “I know...but our fight the night before got out of hand.” I mumbled as I looked over at his low hazy eyes, I knew that look. Nikki always has that look.

My eyes traveled down his bare torso, before looking at the crease of elbow. They were bruised and I could see a little pinhole that looked fresh.

“You too?” I asked quietly, finger running over the abused skin. He moved away from my touch.

“Sixx. He offered.” He explained, looking away from me and putting the can of beer on the table aside us, “Well, showed me the other night. I’ve never felt anything like it before.” He explained as I rolled my eyes. Do I just have a thing for junkie rockstars?

“Be careful with that stuff, wouldn’t want to see you fuck yourself up.” I told him as he smiled at me.

“Thanks for caring.” He said, putting his hand on the side of my face.

“I like you, Vanity.” I listened to him, watching his hand grip my thigh before running his fingers along the inner part of my legs.

I gave him a sweet smile, “I could treat you so much better than a guy who doesn’t appreciate you.” He retorted as I swallowed the lump in the back of my throat. I nodded in understandment as he put his hand under my chin, gripping it to make me look at him.

“He clearly doesn’t see what’s in front of him. You’re so damn beautiful, you’ve got a heart of gold. You could be my girl, and I wouldn’t be scared of it like he is. Nikki is fucked up in the head.”

I pulled away from his touch, “Don’t talk about him like that.” I of course, defended Nikki. I always did when he wasn’t around.

“Angel, c’mon. How long are you gonna play this cat and mouse game with him?” He questioned as I shook my head, “Slash, stop. You don’t know what you’re talking about.” I ordered as he nodded.

“You’re right. I don’t. But I know how guys like Nikki are. They string you around, promising you all the wonderful things in the world, but at the end of the day fails to fulfill those promises.” He said as I listened to him.

“First, you think he’s changing for you and that he’s actually trying to make you happy. Make you think he wants the relationship. Spending money on lavish gifts for you, taking you out to the best places, traveling, buying you a nice house.” I stared at him as he sipped on his beer, his hands were getting dangerously close to the hem of my skirt, fingers fumbling with it.

“But the materialistic things can only last so long. You’re a girl who needs structure, that’s how you were raised. You need stability, he can’t fucking provide you that when he’s off getting high every single second of the day.”

I felt my eyes burning, tears forming at the brim. How did he even know all of this?

“I can tell by the way you look at him, you want that life with him. You want the house, the marriage, the family...but really, and be honest. Do you really believe that a guy like Nikki Sixx can give that to you?”

“No...” I said as I wiped my eyes, being careful not to mess up my make up.

“Angel don’t cry-“ Slash said, wrapping his arms around me and kissing my shoulder, “He’s made you cry enough, don’t you think it’s time to move on?” His hand was soothing as it ran down my back.

“I can show you how a man is suppose to treat a woman, I was raised right. Unlike him. You don’t need that problem.” He cupped my jaw, pulling me into a kiss and moving me onto his lap.

“Angel, he pushed you away and right into my arms, so just let me.” He broke the kiss, his lips still grazing over mine.

I nodded as I engulfed my fingers into his hair, placing my lips on him. He was quick to tug down the tube top I was wearing. Placing rough, wet kisses down my neck and chest.

I gripped his shoulders as I looked up at the ceiling. Maybe it was time to let this thing with Nikki go. It’s not good for either me or him. I moaned when we started sucking at my neck, his hands venturing down my body and continuing to take the rest of my clothes off.

*Nikki’s POV*

“That was a fucking good ass show! The crowd was insane! I’m ready to fucking party!” T-bone was energetic as usual, more so after the concert.

“Hey man, I know you guys are fighting, but can Van come?” He asked me. I exhaled as I handed my bass to a roadie and grabbed a towel, wiping the sweat off my face before draping it over my shoulders.

“Yeah, I don’t care. But if she mouths off to me I’m blaming you.” I warned him as he laughed, “Dude, just fucking apologize to her already, y’all are two moody ass individuals who are even more moody when you two aren’t getting along with each other.”

I glared at him before snorting a quick line of blow. I rubbed my nose, “Fuck off, don’t you think I know that.”

“I’m gonna go shower before-“ I was interrupted when Axl walked up to me “Hey Sixx, Vanity wanted me to tell you she’s in your dressing room waiting for you.” He said, with Duff at his side. Duff was trying not to laugh, this idiot was always fucking laughing at something.

Tommy laughed as he smacked my chest, “Maybe she’s already ready for you, as usual.” I was swift to punch him in the arm

“Fuck you, T-bone-“ I let out a chuckle, “Thanks for telling me man, I’ll catch up with you guys after.” I told them before I started walking back to my dressing room.

I smirked at the groupies that were waiting near my door, “Sorry girls, not tonight.” I told them as they then stuck their nose up at me. I rolled my eyes as I reached for the door knob.

I opened up the door, rage instantly flooding through me. Vanity’s eyes were closed. Moaning loudly with lips parted open as she was on top of Slash naked. I knew that face like the back of my fucking hand, she was about to fucking cum.

“Are you fucking kidding me!?!” I shouted, slamming the door. Her eyes snapped open, going wide in shock as she saw me standing there.

I watched as she got off of him, “Nik...Nikki, just calm down.” She stuttered as she put her top back on, Slash was quick to pull up his pants.

“In my fucking dressing room!? You want me to fucking calm down!?” I screamed, kicking over a small table that was full of empty glass bottles.

“...and you, get the fuck out!! Get the fuck out of my sight!!” I yelled at Slash, he did what I said and left.

“I am so sorry, I...I, Nikki, I’m sorry!!” She trembled as she pulled jeans back on. I saw her start to cry.

“Sorry?! You’re sorry?! What for?! Sorry you got caught!? Don’t you dare start your fucking crying with me!!” I shouted at her, seeing her flinch at the loudness of my voice. Usually I would feel bad, but I didn’t give a flying fuck.

She quickly wiped the tears from her face, but they kept coming, “I didn’t meant too!!” She fought back, tears and sobs escaping from her. I laughed in her face.

“Didn’t mean too?! You just happened to trip on his dick!? You sounded like you very much meant too!!” I screamed at her as she tried coming closer to me.

“Nikki...I..” She was at a loss for words, “Baby, I’m sorry!” She exclaimed, trying to reach out for me but I slapped her hands away.

“Don’t! Call me your fucking baby!!” I yelled at her, “Get the fuck out!!” I yelled, gripping her arm and trying to force her to the door.

“Get the fuck out!! You ain’t fucking sorry!!” I screamed in her face, as she tried pushing me away.

“No! I’m not leaving!” She shouted back, removing my grip from around her arm, “You fuck girls all the time and I never get mad! But I fuck one guy that’s isn’t you one time, and it’s suddenly fuck you, Vanity, right!?!” She screamed as I stared at her in disbelief. This wasn’t the fucking same.

“Don’t give me that fucking bullshit!! You’re mad because I caught you being a little slut!! I would never fuck a girl in your own god damn space!!” I yelled at her, “Fuck it. I’m fucking leaving.” I said as I reached for the door and walked away from her.

“I’m done! I’m fucking done with you!!” I screamed back her, knowing she was following me down the hallway.

I felt her hand go around my wrist, but I pulled my arm away from her, “I’m not done. Don’t you fucking walk away from me!!” She yelled as she followed me out the doors and outside, I felt the cool air hit my face, I was fucking heated. I felt like I was gonna explode.

I turned around fast, as she smacked right into my chest, “Go finish off with him!!! I know you were about to cum!! Go let him feel how good it is! Let him fucking feel where my cock has already been!!” I screamed at her, before sticking my middle finger in her face, “Tell him to enjoy my sloppy seconds.” I growled, before turning my back towards her once again and starting to walk to my tour bus.

“Nikki! Stop!” She yelled, grabbing my arm and forcefully spinning me around, “Please, Nik. I am so sorry, just talk to me.” She begged, trying to catch her breath as she stared at me through bloodshot watery eyes.

“Talk? What the fuck is there to talk about?” I snarled, “You wanted to fuck him so bad, so go on and do it then.” I said, as she shook her head.

“I have nothing to say to you, Vanity.” I said, running my hands over my face as I stepped away from her and stared at the ground.

How could she do this to me?

“I...I don’t know what I was thinking. I shouldn’t have let him into your dressing room. I am so sorry. He was just saying stuff to me and I believed him...I, Nikki I am so fucking sorry.” She pleaded, running her nails through her hair.

I looked at her, my eyes matching hers as I was so fucking pissed I felt tears building up, “Why do you do this to me? You let every other guy flirt and talk and fuck you, but god forbid I want those things.” I expressed my feelings as I stared at her.

She seemed puzzled as she sniffled, “We do those things all the time...” she trailed off, wiping her eyes.

“No! Not the way I want...not the way I want and with how I feel.” My voice was timid, I was becoming scared of the emotions that were slipping out of me.

She wiped her cheeks with her hand as her eyes never left me, “Nikki, What are you talking about?” She asked, clearing her throat.

“I love you.” I said softly, letting her reach for my face as her nail brushed over my cheek. Wiping away hurtful tears and the face paint.

“Nikki, I love you too. You’re one of the closest people I’ve ever had in my life.” I groaned as she wasn’t comprehending what I was saying. I pushed her hands away from me.

“Fuck, do I have to fucking spell it out for you?! I love you, Vanity. I’m in love with you!” I yelped, making her take a step back from me.

“Nikki...” she whispered my name, “I have been in love with you for such a long fucking time now. You’re all I fucking think about. You’re the only sober thought I have and crave for when I’m alone.” I shook my head as she gawked at me.

“But I get you. I get it. You can’t love me back because you’re Vanity Blackwood. I’m too much for you, too sleazy, too god damn useless to you. Only going to ruin you one day like the other girls, right?”

She shook her head, biting her lip as she looked away from me, “Its true and you fucking know it, so don’t try to tell me it isn’t.”

I heard laughter when I saw Tommy and Vince walk out with girls on their arms. Vanity looked over her shoulder as they got closer to us.

“Hey guys! We ready to go-“ Vince stopped talking when he saw her crying and me livid.

“Uh...never mind, we will uh....see you two later.” Vince said, as Tommy patted my shoulder, “Love you, Van.” He tried making light of the situation, seeing that her and I were in the middle of something. They continued to walk to the limo.

She gave him a forced smile, as she looked back at me. Her lips parted as she wanted to say something, but didn’t. She instead shook her head and turned away from me, holding herself as she walked back inside.

I followed her, gripping her arm to turn her around. She was full of tears and wouldn’t look at me, “I gotta go...” she muttered as she walked back into my dressing room, grabbing her jacket and purse.

“Vanity...” I said her name, not knowing what to even say to her but she continued getting all her stuff anyways. She avoided my gaze the whole time. I didn’t even realize she followed me without putting her shoes on.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Nikki.” She said, before walking past me and out the door, hand covering her mouth to keep her sobs in.

I was quick to slam the door behind her. I stared at the couch before flipping it over and throwing glass bottles at the wall. I kicked over the table, not caring that it sent all the blow flying around the air.

I saw a bright green wrapper on the floor, I stared down at it. At least they had the fucking common sense to use a god damn condom.

I stood in silence as I tried to keep everything together. I was trying to keep myself from running, from going back home and locking myself away in the closet. But I couldn’t. Tonight was the first night of the tour.

I rubbed my face before pushing my hair back. The guys said they were going to the strip club. Wonder if Slash went too? I should go see what they’re up too.

I walked into the strip club all the guys were at. Booze, drugs and loads of tits were instantly in my face. Usually I would enjoy it, but it was all just a distraction at this point. Out of the corner of my eye i saw Slash laughing with his own band mates, plus T-bone and Vince. Mick probably already went to the tour bus.

Slash looked up from laughing and leans back, "Man, I never seen a woman so close to coming yet so scared. It was sort of a turn on."

I pushed his boots that were comfortably resting on the table, off, “She was only scared of what I might do if and when I found out.” Nikki says, taking the bottle of Jack Daniels from Vince’s hands and sitting down next to Tommy

Slash glared at me, putting his boots back up on the table before finishing his drink and calling for a server to refill it, "I'm not scared of your scrawny ass Sixx."

“Well you fucking should be. You should be thankful I’ve allowed you to stay and enjoy the booze and drugs I’ve shared with you.” I barked at him, taking a long swig of the whiskey.

"Hey, its not my fault that you can’t be a fucking gentlemen to a an amazing girl." He laughed, shaking his head.

“Fuck you Slash, you don’t know anything about me or her and what I’ve done for her!” I yelled at him, Vince put his hand on my shoulder to push me back onto the couch.

"Yeah well I guess the rumors are true about her." Slash spoke out, Axl and Duff followed with a collective “oh”

“Slash, don’t.” T-bone warned him.

I slapped the cup out of Slash’s hands, sending the liquor to the floor, “Shut the fuck up. None of that shit is true.” I was quick to defend Vanity. I knew one of the rumors of her going around were true, she’s only been with one guy on the rockstar scene, and that’s me. The rest were all made up by jealous groupies and other bands we have performed with. She always turned everyone down, why couldn’t she just do the same with Slash?

He looked at me, shaking his head in disapproval, “Whether you like to admit it or not, she goes around. She even fucked T-bone. It was totally worth the hundred bucks."

“You put a fucking bet down on her!?” I yelled, standing up in complete fury. I was about to rip his god damn head off his shoulders, “T-bone has never fucked her....right man!?” I shouted, looking over at him.

My expression changed when I noticed Tommy looking down at the floor and swirling his beer in his cup.

I then smacked the cup out of his hand, “Tell me you did not fuck Vanity!!!”

"It-we it just happened..."

*flashback, Tommy’s POV*

Vanity held my hand as I helped her walk up the stairs of the hotel entrance, “T-bone, slow down you fucking giraffe.” She giggled as I sighed, I may have gotten her too drunk and Vince may have fed her one to many rails of cocaine.

“Let’s just get you back to Nikki, before he kills me.” I said, pushing open the door, but I heard her trip behind me.

“Nice, real nice.” I laughed as I saw her sitting on the stairs. She wiped off the blood from her knees and got back up, “Can you carry me? I don’t think I’ll make it.” She asked, a shit eating grin on her face.

I turned around, “Jump on.” I said, patting my shoulder. She jumped on my back after a few attempts, her legs were wrapped around my waist and her arms were around my shoulders.

“Nikki is such a big baby! I was just sick two weeks ago and I went out and partied, but he gets a little fever and cough and it’s suddenly the end of the world.” She complained as I pushed the button for the elevator

“Y’know how he is. He’s the most dramatic fucker I’ve ever met...besides you.” I teased her as she playfully smacked the side of my head.

“That is so untrue! You’re dramatic as well, talking about I’m in love with a new girl everyday. Please, T-bone.” I could tell just by her tone, that was said with a long eye roll.

“I got so much love to give, Princess. You’re lucky Sixx snatched you up when he did.” I laughed as she chuckled in my ear.

I walked down the long hallway, “I’m not ready to stop partying, do you have any blow in your room?” She asked as I nodded, putting her down in front of my door as I unlocked the room.

She walked in front of me, “Jesus Christ, this place is a disaster.” She said, pointing at the TV that was on the floor face down, bottle upon bottles of alcohol and multiple mismatched pairs of thongs and bras.

She sat down on the edge of the bed, kicking off her heels as she looked at me, I stared at her seeing her dress was rising up just a little before she pulled it back down.

“Well, do I need to get it myself? Or are you just gonna stare at me the whole time? I mean both is fine.” She said, an arrogant smirk on on her face as she ran her fingers through her hair.

“Mhm, yeah...right.” I turned my back to her, going through my bag as I found a baggie of coke.

“This what you want?” I teased as I brought it over to her. Her eyes lit up as she bit her lip.

“I should just introduce you to the guy that gives us this.” I said, but she shook her head, “That sounds scary. I’ll just take yours instead.” She responded as she watched me cut a few lines for her.

“I’m sorry that you had to get a tattoo the other night, I thought you would put up a fight or Nikki would say no.” I confessed, as she snorted up lines, rubbing her nose as she looked at me through low, bloodshot eyes.

“It’s okay. I kinda like it. I know Nikki loves it. He wants me to get more.” She explained as I laughed, “Of course he would like it, now your his for life.” I joked as she let out an eye roll.

“Yeah, Yeah whatever.” She said passing the tray to me.

“T-bone?” She asked as she laid onto the bed, I turned my cheek to see her. Hair sprawled out as she bit on her lip, “Ye-Yeah, Princess?” I asked as I cleared my throat.

“Does Nikki ever talk about me when I’m not around?” She questioned, sitting back up as I passed it back to her, she continued railing lines.

“Van, he never shuts up. Sometimes I’ll start banging on the drums or Mick will hit a riff just to get him to shut the fuck up.” She giggled as she leaned into my shoulder.

“The only time he’s quiet is when you two are fighting, then he’s on edge.” I expressed, hearing her let out a sigh.

“I wish him and I didn’t fight the way we do, it’s toxic.” She said, resting her head against my arm as she snorted another line.

“I think you two both know what you want, you guys are just scared to admit it.” I explained, putting down the tray and grabbing a half drunken beer, she followed my movements but grabbed a bottle of whiskey.

“I don’t know what I want from him, all I know is he is a great fuckin lay.”

“Says the same thing about you..” I told her, wiggling my eyebrows as I saw her cheeks turn pink.

“Shut up, T-bone.” She rolled her eyes, looking away from me as she took a sip of the alcohol.

“I meant what I said, just a little while ago. You’re lucky he got to you first.” I said, as she tilted her head to the side.

“I mean technically, you guys were both in the diner at the same time. But yeah, you’re right. Why do you say that though?” She seemed curious as I took the bottle out of her hand, putting it back where she found it.

“I see you as my sister, but sometimes I wonder what it would be like if we were more.” I said slowly, noticing her eyebrows furrow as she bit on her bottom lip.

“I mean, you’re fucking hot. Drop dead gorgeous, and Nikki is a lucky son of a bitch to have you on his arm…I also think he doesn’t realize how lucky he is sometimes. I love him to death, but it’s dysfunction junction over there, Y’know what I mean?” I laughed as she smiled at me, shaking her head. I quickly put my hand under her chin to get her eyes back on mine.

“You’re gonna get me in trouble, Tommy.” She breathed out, looking down at my hand as I traced random shapes against her thigh.

“Maybe we don’t tell him.” I whispered before placing a kiss on her lips, god they were soft. And she tasted like a fucking vanilla cupcake.

She was quick to pull away from me, getting off the bed and standing in front of me, “Tommy…we can’t. You’re Nikki’s best friend. He would kill us if he found out.” She was hesitant as she bit her her thumb nail, giving me a worrisome look.

“He would hate me.” I grabbed her hand gently and brought her back to me. I wrapped my arms around her waist, hands squeezing her ass as she gripped my shoulders.

“He won’t find out Princess, I promise.”

*end flashback, Nikki’s POV*

I rolled my eyes, “fuck all of you, fuck the rest of this tour. I’m done.” I stood up and started walking out. How the fuck could she treat me like I’m a fucking joke?

“Nikki…” Tommy followed after me when I stepped outside, “it was a mistake you know I view Vanity like a sister. It was a moment and its never happened again.” I was sick and tired of everyone giving me bullshit excuses tonight.

I turned around, shoving Tommy away from me, “You still let it fucking happen!! You’re my fucking brother! How could you fuck her when you know how I feel about her!?” I shouted at him.

“And then you’re just sitting here with that fucker and laughing with him, whose fucking side are you on!?” I screamed at him.

“I’m sorry dude…we just…I…it was my fault. She was reluctant to sleep with me, but I convinced her anyways. I’m so sorry, Sixx.” Tommy explained, running his hands through his hair.

“You want to kick his ass? We can kick his ass. You can kick my ass if you want? I’ll take the beating like a man.” I shook my head.

“I really am sorry. I was drunk and she was high. If it makes it any better, she made me use a condom.” I scoffed at his remarks as I glared down at the parking lot.

“But I swear to you Sixx, it hasn’t happened since. That was the only time. She avoided me for like a wee-“

“That’s why she was avoiding you!? She said it was cause of the whole tattoo thing and she was just pissed at you.”

Everything made god damn sense now.

“Fuck this, I’m going to her fucking house.” I said, walking over to my car but he grabbed my arm.

“Alright, let’s just fucking take a breath. You’re pissed off and she is probably emotional right now, that is one deadly combination.” I shook my head, after taking a breath like he said.

“Yes I am. I am fine. I just want to talk.” I grumbled as i opened the door of the limo. Tommy looked like he wanted to pull his hair out.

“God, just….don’t do anything you’re gonna regret.”

*Vanity’s POV*

“Okay, okay…lets just relax. Take a breath, honey, you are hyperventilating. You need to calm down.” Tonya said, holding me in her arms as I cried and sobbed into her chest.

“I…I-I can’t.” I clutched my chest, sitting up as I was having a panic attack. I was gasping for air, gasping for him. I felt like my whole world was crashing and burning around me.

I started coughing so hard, I began gagging, “H-How could I be s..so fucking stupid!!” I yelled out in frustration as I buried my head in my knees.

“Maybe he’ll-“ Lucia looked at the brighter sides of things, “He’s fucking done with me!!” I yelled out, choking on more tears.

“He..he just came in and started saying, hyping up his game and saying sweet words to me! That I fucking bought into! And I just fucking got naked for him!!” I yelped, gripping the couch cushions, my nails digging in to them.

“And Nikki’s face when he walked in. It fucking killed me! I know he’s not my boyfriend but I practically fucking cheated on him! How could I be so stupid!?” I cried out, grabbing the tissue Lucia held in front of me.

The doorbell rang, “oh, food. Good, I was getting hungry…you hungry Van?” Lucia said, walking over to the front door.

“N-no…” I breathed out, leaning into Tonya’s shoulder.

“Move! Where the fuck is she!” I heard Nikki’s booming voice echo into the living room.

“Nikki, no. Go away!” Tonya yelled, getting off the couch as I pulled myself up too.

“Vanity, come here. Now!” Nikki yelled, looking straight at me.

“Am I just not fucking good enough for you!?” He yelled at me as I took hesitant steps to him. I cried as I shook my head, “You say no, but are you really fucking sure!?” He yelled at me.

“N-no…that’s not true!!” I fought back, voice croaking as I stepped out on the front porch with him.

He laughed bitterly, “Why’d you fuck Slash, better yet. Why in the fucking world did you sleep with Tommy!?”

I heard Lucia and Tonya collectively gasp. I stared at him. I couldn’t think of anything to say. He was never suppose to find out.

*flashback, Vanity’s POV*

“Hold still!” T-bone let out a giggle as he tried putting a line of coke on my ass, but I kept shaking it in his face.

I heard him snort it, then felt his tongue drag across my skin, “Wooo!!” He yelled out as he smacked my ass.

I laid down on the bed naked as his eyes traveled down my body, “Wanna go again?” He asked me, his hand running between my thighs.

I shoved his hand away, getting up and putting my dress back on, “I have to get back to Nikki, he’s probably waiting for me.” I said, bending over to put my heels on.

“Can I keep these?” I looked at Tommy, he was holding up the purple panties i was wearing before he took them off.

I rolled my eyes, “Goodnight T-bone.”

“Goodnight, my dirty little secret.” He cackled, as I turned around to flip him off before shutting the door.

I walked into the room I shared with Nikki. He was sitting in the middle of the bed, playing the bass and writing in a notebook.

“Oh..hey.” He said with a smile as I gave him one back, “Hey yourself, how are you feeling?” I asked, as I slipped out of the dress and put on a loose fitting shirt of his.

“Well, I downed a bottle of cough syrup and then passed out for a while. I feel a little better, I still can’t get rid of this headache.” He said, putting the bass on the floor and laying down next to me.

I ran my fingers through his hair as he laid his head on my chest, “Did you have fun with the guys? Where did you go?” He asked, resting his chin against me as his hazel eyes stared up at me.

“Uh…we um, we went to a bar, and then Vince fucked some guys girl in the bathroom so we had to leave because the dude was trying to  fight Vince.” I explained, rubbing my hand over my face as I tried to recall the nights events.

“Typical.” Nikki giggled as he kissed the side of my jaw.

“And then we went to a strip club, the guys are so adamant about getting me a lap dance.” I rolled my eyes, “They enjoyed their selves…I just stayed at the bar and drank. I think I made a friend. She bought me a few of them. I think she was hitting on me too..” Nikki started laughing.

“I would have paid good money to see that.” He chuckled.

“I missed you.” Nikki said, head nuzzling on my shoulder as he kissed the side of my neck. He held me tight against his body.

My nails grazed up and down his bare back as we laid in comfortable silence, “Happy you’re here with me…” he mumbled as I exhaled deeply. He was being way to affectionate for me right now, it was making me feel guilty as hell.

*end flashback*

“I…I didn’t-“ He slammed my front door, blocking Lucia and Tonya’s view of us, “So now you’re a lying whore!? Slash fucking knew you fucked T-bone!!” He screamed at me, I flinched as I wrapped my arms around myself. I was cold and it was pouring rain. How poetic.

“You weren’t suppose to find out!” I defended myself as he rolled his eyes, “Just Keep fucking lying to Nikki so you can get what you want from him, right!?” He shouted in my face, I shook my head as tears kept pouring down my face.

“It happened only one-“ he cut me off, by raising his hand up to silence me. I stepped back, I thought he was going to hit me.

“One time? Yeah one time with Tommy, one time with Slash, whose next on your list? Hm?” He spat his anger out at me.

“Nikki, I’m sorry.” I said quietly as he laughed.

“Sorry? I’m sorry for you Vanity! He fucking placed a bet down just to get into your fucking pants! I’m sorry that you’re living up to all these rumors that surround you!!”

I closed my eyes, clenching down on my jaw as hot tears fell down my cheeks. I was just a bet to Slash?

“Those rumors aren’t true and you know that!!” I defended my character as he shook his head, “That’s what I thought too, but now I don’t know. It’s like I don’t even fucking know who you are!! After all these god damn years and the fights we’ve had, it’s all been fucking pointless!” He shouted, taking a step away from me.

“Nikki, this isn’t pointless.” I said, grabbing the collar of his leather jacket to keep him close to me.

“Yes it is. Its all been pointless. Everything.” He said, taking my hand off of him.

“This is done, Vanity. We’re done.” His words were sharp as they stabbed right through my god damn heart. Was he breaking up with me? He couldn’t fucking break up with me…we were never dating. But god damnit, this felt like a break up.

He started walking away from me, “This isn’t done!” I shouted, chasing after him as I began to get drenched by the rain.

“Yes it is!! We are done!! This is done!! Nikki and Vanity are done!!” He turned around, as I shook my head.

“No!” I shouted, putting my foot down as I glared up at him.

“We’re over Van! Go back inside!! Stay away from me and the band!” He yelled, pointing to the door behind me.

How could he tell me he loves me and then tell me to go away?!

“Nikki…please, I am sorry.” I begged him. He couldn’t leave me. I needed him to fucking stay with me. Why can’t I just fucking get those god damn three words out of my fucking mouth!!

Nikki wiped the rain off his face, the black paint now smearing down his jaw. He stared down at me, “Please?” I croaked, seeing that little jaw muscle clench.

He remained quiet as he turned his back to me, walking straight for his car. My brain couldn’t make the connection to my feet. I wanted to chase after him, but I couldn’t move. My heart felt like it was about to jump right out of my chest. I watched as he drove down the street, before he turned, disappearing from my sight.

Nothing lasts forever, not even cold November rain.

Signal Chain: Boss TU-3 Chromatic Tuner, Morley Volume Pedal, MXR Micro Amp, Boss LS-2 Line Selector, Ibanez TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer; in the effects loop: MXR Black Label Chorus, MXR KFK Ten Band EQ, MXR Carbon Copy Bright, Boss RV-6 Reverb. I also have two TC Electronic Bona Fide Buffers, one on each board. This is all into the lead channel on the amp, gain on 6, volume at 2, running at half power. Rig Rundown/Studio Tour

Hey dudes, been a real long time since I did a walk through of my music rooms with you, figured it would be a good time to give you one of those. 

So where to start, well these are my three main boys,up on the wall from right to left, my tele, an xavier thinline, it sounds like santana, its huge sounding. it stays in tune super well, and it has a bridge pickup that isnt too bright or too barky, love it. My sisters jazz bass which I have been “barrowing” for like, 6 years. its perfect, I have another bass, a yamaha 5 string fretless, that I barely use and will likely sell, because this jazz bass just does everything so well and I dont have to eq it, or reamp it, its direct, with compression, nothing else. and lastly, my signature strat, special switching system, and a 5 position mid boost preamp and a hipshot b bender, I love this guitar, its perfection. 

below them, my blue strat, I have the trem set floating and the strings are old and really dark sounding. I might switch it to flat wounds because the pickups in it are really bright, and with darker strings this guitar sounds so cool and surfy through a clean amp with a ton of spring reverb. love it. and then there is my washburn, its a floyd rose guitar. I wanted to be joe satriani growing up, but the older Ive gotten, and the more Ive played, ive realized that isnt me. an old fender trem, and a set of locking tuners is good enough for most people, floyd roses just dont sound right to me. they lack a certain character. and full humbucker guitars arent my thing either, as soon as I switched back to a strat from my tele...man, it was eye opening, single coils with a mid boost > humbuckers with a coil tap any day. I am thinking about switching the humbuckers out for p90s with that mid boost circuit in it, or maybe even just a booster. 

I do recognize that my main guitars all have humbuckers in the bridge position, a lot of bridge single coils lack a thickness to them, the only single coil bridge pups I have ever liked were tele pickups. but its easier to just drop a humbucker in there or leave one in there than try to shove a tele pup in there.

my acoustics, my first act, my douglas, and my ovation. My first act was my second guitar ever, I got it in 2004? the pickup in it is from a harmony solid body from the early 80s, it is scarred six ways from sunday, it was my main live guitar for about ten years. I love this guitar, it sounds better than almost every electric guitar I have ever heard. if it wasnt for the fact it was so hard to ground and was so noisy, I would use this guitar for EVERYTHING. The Douglas was a graduation present from a customer at the music store I used to work at, it sounds like wes montgomery, its so fat man. and when you run it through my marshall and overdrive it, its so round and warm, its perfection. lastly is my ovation, its a 76 balladeer. it didnt come with a pickup which is disappointing, but I use a gold foil sound hole pickup with it that works really well. these three guitars are usually mic’d with that sweet audio technica at2020, and then I also run it through my amps on a cleanish setting, mix those in box, it sounds amazing.

heres my pedalboard, and also my main amp....and yes, that is a shelving unit, and my pedals are zip tied to it. The fender mustang floor is a life saver, I listened to it A/B’d with amps in the store I used to work at, and they were so true and lifelike, as good as a line 6? no, but this was like 500 dollars cheaper when I factored in my discount. great marshall tone, great bassman, great champ, all of the pedal sounds are great. and I can record at 4am and not get evicted. from left to right. 

behringer compressor. very smooth Dynacomp clone, it it so smooth, almost like an orange squeezer, but this thing sounds like country. 

behringer pitch shifter/harmonizer I use it to do two things, 3rd harmonies, so if im feeling lazy and dont want to double track a guitar, I can just do this and there it is. and i use it for full step bends, when you combine it with the b bender, you can really emulate a steel guitar

Electroharmonix LPB-1. my booster of choice, I prefer this so much in front of a dirty amp to something like a tube screamer. get an amp sorta dirty, roll your volume down to get a clean sound, and click the boost to get distortion. 

behringer hellbabe wah. optical, spring powered wah. very narrow Q, adjustable range, I use wah a lot, but I dont like it to have a really wide sweep like how crybabys do, this boy works so well.

also I know thats a lot of behringer, but guess what. sold pedals for 6 years, I have had dozens of different brands on my board, from vox’s joe satriani pedals, sans amp pedals, JHS dirt boxes, three or four seperate chorus’s, a few different flavors of delay, but I stuck with the ones I have, because they sound great....and because their resale value was low enough that I couldnt justify selling them to buy other pedals. plus they just sound good, yea theyre plastic but fuck you, they sound so good.

while I do mainly use a fender mustang to record, I have slowly been switching back to using a real amp. MY AMP. its a Marshall Valvestate 100 Watt head, into a Bugera version 1 2x12 cabinet, so I dont have those harsh turbosound speakers in it. I have changed the tube out in the head for a ruby tube like 3 years ago, its holding strong so power to those dudes. I have the amp set really loud (more on that soon) but the gain set really low, if a marshall running almost flat out with the gain pretty low worked for ACDC it will work for me. so about me running a 100 watt head flat out in an apartment, well you might have noticed that little boy up there

that bugera power soak is a life saver. my amp sounds so warm and chewy, and I never was able to get that tone from this amp before I got it. the valve state has a tube preamp, and a solid state power amp, so the idea is, if you run it low, it should sound about the same as it does full out. it doesnt, I think the power amp section definitely plays a smaller role but it does still play a role. I have the amp set to like 7/10, because above that I definitely get some suck to the sound, where the volume drops a little bit when you hit it really hard, and below that it is a little grainy sounding, theres just this high end sort of fizz, and the amp is a bit too dynamic at low volumes, if you hit it really hard it just gets too loud compared to when you play quiet. the compression I get from running it that loud through the soak just leads to such a solid sound. All of my youtube videos for the last few weeks are this marshall, but there is one last part to my sound. 

a first act delay pedal. this dude is a bucket brigade delay, that has a fault that drops the volume just a little bit when its on, and when you set the delay length reallly long, it gets really atmostpheric, and when this and the spring reverb in the amp start playing with eachother, its lush, its big. I put this in the effects loop and just this, nothing else. this, in conjunction with the soak, keeps my volume managable but also thick sounding. 

so there it is my dudes. Hope you got something from reading all this, cause I love talking about guitar gear so much more than you can imagine. if working at music stores didnt pay so fucking bad, this is all I would ever do.

O-Drive is based on the now-legendary BOSS OD-1 OverDrive. Seventies-vintage artists mostly made use of a fuzz distortion sound, so the overdrive produced by the OD-1 OverDrive was not exactly typical for the time. It was, however, soon accepted as a new standard of guitar sound. Speaking of sound, the OD-1 OverDrive features an asymmetric circuit where the positive and negative halves of the waveform are not distorted equally.

S-Drive is based on the BOSS SD-1 Super OverDrive. This sonic stalwart has been around for a very long time and has gone almost unchanged from its inception back in 1981. Again, an asymmetric overdrive circuit is at its core. This responds very well to the force of a player’s picking, producing a dynamic and smooth overdrive effect well suited to any type of rock music. Many guitarists also use the SD-1 Super OverDrive as a booster pedal for valve amplifiers.

One-Distortion is based on the BOSS DS-1 Distortion, a true icon in the wonderful world of guitar effects. Introduced in 1978, BOSS’ first distortion pedal defined a bold new sound, delivering hard-edged attack and smooth sustain that has been a staple of players for generations. Get this, though: the DS-1 Distortion is the top-selling BOSS compact pedal of all time, and its original, unchanged design continues to inspire the creation of great music worldwide.

BAT-Distortion is based on Pro Co Sound’s RAT Distortion. ‘The Rat’ became very popular in the early Eighties, thanks, in part, to being used by several famous artists. As a primary distortion device, it excels at arena rock rhythm tones and soaring leads, but its true beauty lies in its versatility.

XXL-Distortion is based on the Distortion+ pedal originally designed in the Seventies by MXR Innovations. Its name implies distortion, and indeed it does distortion (parallel clipping) well, but boasts a rather mild sound. It is perhaps best known for its crunchy heavy metal sound that was featured by Randy Rhoads in his work with Ozzy Osbourne. The Distortion+ delivers everything from cool overdriven blues tones to huge Eighties hard rock distortion.

M-Distortion is based on the MT-2 Metal Zone, one of BOSS’ most popular pedals. Duly delivering a wide range of distortion sounds with three-band EQ and strong sustain, it is capable of some of the most over-the-top, insane distortion tones in the world — with huge mids and lows, alongside an ultra-saturated sound!

F-Fuzz is based on Jim Dunlop’s Fuzz Face, an effect pedal mainly used by electric guitarists and also some bass players. Designed to produce a distorted sound from an electric guitar, a sound often referred to as ‘fuzz’ — which was sometimes achieved by accident earlier through broken electrical components or damaged speakers, this particular Fuzz Face distortion is constructed to vintage specs, featuring the original Germanium PNP transistor design for a rich, creamy fuzz sound.

M-Fuzz is based on the Big Muff Pi (π). Produced in New York City by Electro-Harmonix, along with Russian sister company Sovtek, this fuzz box is primarily for use with electric guitar, but also used by bassists due to its squeaky frequency response. Hendrix and Santana were among the first to get a piece of the Pi, so-to-speak, and the Big Muff — as it has become simply known — has been defining the sound of rock guitar for over 40 years!

T-Booster is based on the Brian May Treble Booster, an effect unit used by guitarists to boost volume and especially the high end of their tonal spectrum, which was particularly popular during the Sixties.
