Shakira vende todo o seu catálogo musical para grande empresa britânica
Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited adquiriu os direitos de publicação de todas as 145 composições do repertório da colombiana
Da Redação – Segundo reporte da imprensa internacional, a cantora colombiana Shakira vendeu os direitos de publicação de suas obras musicais para o fundo britânico Hipgnosis Songs, criado por Merck Mercuriadis. O acordo compreende as 145 músicas do catálogo da cantora, incluindo os massivoss hits globais “Whenever, Wherever”, “Hips Don’t Lie” e “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), que juntos já venderam dezenas de milhões de cópias e acumulam bilhões de fluxos sob demanda nas plataformas de streaming. A estrela latina segue os passos de outras lendas da música, que nas últimas semanas assinaram acordos semelhantes com empresas de publishing, como Bob Dylan e Neil Young.

Por Dentro do Acordo Em termos gerais, Shakira assinou um acordo de longa duração em que cede os direitos de uso da suas composições para o fundo britânico. Em troca, ela recebe uma generosa quantia de dinheiro na celebração do contrato e o fundo fica com os royalties (lucros) pela reprodução das obras em plataformas de streaming,e também pelo licenciamento e sincronização das obras em filmes, séries, novelas, publicidade, covers, programas de televisão e transmissões públicas por todo o período de duração do contrato. O comunicado da Hipgnosis enviado à imprensa não informou o valor pago à artista, nem o tempo de duração do contrato. Mas especula-se que o mesmo esteja avaliado na casa dos milhões de dólares, dado ao alcance global de Shakira e o valor comercial de suas obras. Todo o catálogo da colombiana segue sendo administrado pela Sony/ATV, editora que cuida dos direitos de autor da mesma. Anteriormente, os direitos de publicação de Shakira estavam sob posse da Live Nation, que assinou em 2008 um contrato por todos os direitos globais da artista (incluindo os de publicação) por 10 anos.
Vale ressaltar que o acordo não inclui os fonogramas, ou seja, as gravações dessas composições, cujos direitos continuam sendo da casa discográfica, a Sony Music Latin Iberia. A Hipgnosis tem o poder de licenciar e obter lucros com o uso apenas das composições (letra e melodia) da colombiana e , ainda assim, o contrato inclui apenas a parte dela nas obras. Por exemplo: no registro da associação de compositores (BMI), “Estoy Aquí”, clássico de 1995 está creditada à própria Shakira e ao produtor Luis Fernando Ochoa. Eles são os autores da obra. A partir de agora, a colombiana cedeu os direitos dela de publicação da obra. Os direitos do Luis Fernando Ochoa continuam pertencendo a ele ou a seu representante legal. E a gravação original desta obra, a música “Estoy Aqui” na voz de Shakira, e originalmente incluída no álbum Pies Descalzos, continua sendo de direito da Sony Music. Então, se um artista X for autorizado a gravar um cover desta canção, a parte do lucro desta nova gravação referente aos direitos de autoria que iriam para Shakira vão diretamente para a Hipgnosis. Toda execução pública de qualquer obra fonográfica gera direitos de autor. São esses direitos que a colombiana cedeu ao fundo musical britânico.
Segundo levantamento feito com exclusividade pelo Shakira Brasil, a colombiana compôs 94% de todas as obras do seu catálogo. O novo acordo não prevê as obras futuras de autoria da artista.
Em comunicado, Shakira falou sobre o seu trabalho como compositora: “Ser compositora é uma realização que considero igual e talvez até maior do que ser cantora e artista. Aos 8 anos de idade, muito antes de cantar, escrevi para dar sentido ao mundo. Cada música é reflexo da pessoa que eu era no momento em que escrevi, mas uma vez que a canção vai para o mundo, ela não pertence só a mim, mas também a quem a aprecia. [Eu] me sinto honrada em escrever músicas que têm me dado o privilégio de me comunicar com todos, de ser parte de algo maior que eu.”
O CEO da Hignosis, Merck Mercuriadis, ressaltou a importãncia de ter o catálogo da colombiana em seu portfólio: “Essa incrível mulher da Colômbia se tornou umas das pessoas mais famosas e influentes do mundo. É uma das compositoras mais sérias e bem-sucedidas dos últimos 25 anos, tendo escrito ou coescrito praticamente todas as canções que gravou. Para nós, é maravilhoso dar boas-vindas para Shakira, a rainha da música latina e muito mais.”

Si hay Copa Mundial, hay música y si hay música hay dinero

Eso lo tienen muy claro los involucrados dentro de este universo de la industria musical.
Cada vez es más recurrente que los artistas intenten crear canciones para estas fechas.
La Copa Mundial de la FIFA, en su edición del 2014, atrajo un total de 3,2 billones de espectadores según los datos ofrecidos por la FIFA y Kantar Media. Eso a comparación de los 103 millones que se registraron en el Super Bowl de este año. Fuck yeah!
Para este mundial de 2018, que ya se está llevando a cabo en Rusia, muchos artistas han querido lanzar sus propias canciones; sus propios himnos mundialistas a pesar de no ser oficiales. Sin embargo, han logrado que se viralicen y aumenten sus reproducciones hasta convertirse en éxitos.
"There are more songs than ever,"  dice Dusko Justic, vicepresidente de marketing para Sony Latin/Iberia Brans.
"Media partners see the power of the music, and everyone is deciding to create their own representation of the song.".
Los artistas que están dentro de la compañía de Sony Music, tienen una gran ventaja ya que Sony es el socio oficial de la FIFA desde hace varios años. De hecho, el sello fue el que lanzó el himno oficial de este mundial 2018, "Live It Up", con los artistas Nicky Jam, Will Smith, Era Istrefi y producida por Diplo. No solo eso, también lanzó el himno oficial del patrocinador de la Copa del Mundo, Coca-Cola, con la canción "Colors" interpretada por Jason Derulo con Maluma. Finalmente, Sony lanzó la pista oficial de Sprint, "90 minutos" interpretada por Prince Royce y ChocQuibTown.
Pero ellos no son los únicos que están entrando a la cancha de juego, ya que las plataformas musicales también se están poniendo la camiseta.
Spotify tiene a su disposición, listas dedicadas para la Copa Mundial y las promociona en países individuales con videos alusivos a los equipos de cada pais; Deezer, quien actualmente tiene acuerdos con el Manchester United y el FC Barcelona, se ha creado 32 listas de reproducción que representan a los 32 países que están en el Mundial.
"In the World Cup, the barrier for non-English artists and songs is broken down", Dice Sullina Ong, vicepresidente mundial de Marketing de artistas de Deezer. Ella señala que J Balvin es el artista más transmitido por Deezer: "We see the dominance of Latin artists and Latin songs, and visitors are revisiting past World Cup songs as well.".
Según Deezer, el flujo promedio de canciones antiguas de mundiales ha aumentado en los últimos dos meses: "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" de Shakira aumentó en un 110 por ciento y "Dar Um Jeito (We Will Find a Way)" de Santana en un 365 por ciento, por ejemplo.
Otros artistas que se han sumado a esta ola de componer canciones mundialistas son Shawn Mendes quien difundió una versión de "In My Blood" para apoyar la selección de Portugal, mientras que el vídeo oficial de "Love" (Universal Music) de Gianluca Vacchi con Sebastián Yatra cuenta cuenta con cameos de futbolistas de la selección Colombia.

Puede que eso sea verdad y veamos el claro ejemplo con Shakira, quien comprende el amor y pasión por el fútbol además de estar casada con el jugador Gerard Piqué. Sus canciones se han mantenido a la cabeza durante los últimos años como "Waka Waka", canción que hizo parte de uno de los mundiales más recordados. Según la Billboard, la canción alcanzó el puesto 38 de la Hot 100 y en Youtube se registra como el video más popular de un mundial y el vigésimo sexto más visto en la historia de Youtube, con más de 1.800 millones de vistas hasta la fecha. "La La La", es la segunda gran canción que hizo parte de ese Mundial del 2014. Registra más de 972 millones de vistas lo cual lo ubica dentro de los 150 videos más vistos en todo Youtube. Por si fuera poco y para cerrar con broche de oro, su canción "Hips Don't Lie" junto a Wyclef reporta hasta la fecha una suma de 561 millones de vistas en Youtube.
Por ahora Maluma ha logrado cultivar 96 millones de vistas en esta plataforma de videos.
Finalmente, a quienes les gusta estas fechas y a quienes no, a los hinchas fervientes, a los futbolistas, a los que somos troncos -como yo-, a los millones de espectadores, en fin. Todos hacemos parte de esta amalgama mundialista y todos ganamos sea cual sea la industria.

Coluna: Shakira desistiu de se 'relançar' comercialmente em inglês?
Levi Tavares – Não há como negar: existe um burburinho enorme em torno do nome de Shakira. A estrela colombiana está no centro dos holofotes com a iminência do seu aguardado show de intervalo do Super Bowl, ao lado de sua colega Jennifer Lopez. No dia em que completa 43 anos de vida, a cantora chega ao palco grande em Miami para entoar os hits que coroaram sua exitosa carreira. Ainda era setembro quando o anúncio foi feito e só por anunciar estar no evento, o nome da cantora foi direto para o topo dos assuntos mais comentados do Twitter global.
Ninguém tem dúvidas de que estar no Super Bowl é uma baita vitrine para artistas do mainstream e nas palavras da própria Shakira ele é “o santo Graal da indústria fonográfica”. Estrelas como Madonna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 e Justin Timberlake aproveitaram sua aparição na final da Liga Americana para explodir seus trabalhos e alavancar ainda mais a carreira. Com Shakira não deve ser diferente. Mas na contramão das expectativas e da lógica, a colombiana escolheu lançar um single em espanhol semanas antes do evento. A empolgante “Me Gusta”, uma parceria com o porto-riquenho Anuel AA, foi a aposta da cantora pré-evento. E de cara, isso suscitou uma dúvida cruel na cabeça deste colunista: por que não uma faixa em inglês?
Com uma audiência de mais de 100 milhões de expectadores nos EUA, o Super Bowl seria a plataforma ideal para Shakira explorar o mercado norte-americano fora do eixo latino, com um lançamento inédito. Mas ela não o fez. A barranquillera não lança um hit comercial na língua de Charles Dickens há pelo menos uns seis anos. Sua última incursão foi em 2014, com seu álbum homônimo, que rendeu músicas como Can’t Remember to Forget You, Empire e Dare (La La La). A recepção morna dos singles e a era interrompida pela gravdiez do seu segundo filho, podem ter desanimado Shakira de apostar na ‘América’. Há algumas evidências que TALVEZ corroborem minha linha de raciocínio.
RCA, cadê você? A primeira delas esbarra na RCA. Desde 2012, a colombiana tem um contrato para três discos de inéditas que envolve um acordo de distribuição com a Sony Music Latin Iberia e a RCA Records. Em uma olhada rápida pelas páginas da gravadora de Nova York seria difícil imaginar que Shakira faz parte da RCA. No site oficial da casa discográfica, a colombiana aparece entre os artistas do seu casting, mas a última menção a ela foi em março de 2015, em um release sobre uma entrevista para a Revolt TV por ocasião do mês das mulheres. Desde então, parece que a estrela latina desapareceu para eles. Nas redes sociais da casa NÃO HÁ qualquer publicação recente em referencia à Shakira. Difícil imaginar que a gravadora ignoraria tantos fatos relevantes que aconteceram e vêm acontecendo na carreira de uma artista mainstream do seu casting nos últimos anos, como Grammys e um Super Bowl. A não ser que a RCA tenha sido excluída da equação, que engloba Live Nation e Sony Music Global. A coluna entrou em contato com a assessoria da gravadora, mas até o fechamento desta matéria não obtivemos resposta.

Shakira não é a única artista que tem um acordo de distribuição que aporta duas subsidiárias da Sony. Sua colega Becky G, por exemplo, também tem seu material distribuído pela RCA e Sony Latin, mas diferente de Shakira, seus lançamentos são divulgados também pela RCA, inclusive os em espanhol.
Pulando Fora do Barco Shakira não grava um single comercial em inglês desde 2014, mas esse jejum poderia ter sido menor. Estava em seus planos o lançamento de pelo menos duas faixas inéditas para álbuns de outros artistas, mas a colombiana pulou do barco no meio do caminho. Os motivos, nós relés mortais desconhecemos e talvez nunca saibamos o porquê dela ter abandonado os vocais de “Mad Love”, de Sean Paul e David Guetta, sendo coincidentemente substituída por Becky G; e de “Skrt On Me”, de Calvin Harris e Nicki Minaj.
O Boom da Música Latina A colombiana não deixou totalmente de gravar em inglês neste período, é verdade. Em seu álbum mais recente, El Dorado, há três faixas no idioma, mas nenhuma com potencial de single comercial. Desde 2016, a música cantada em espanhol, sobretudo do gênero urbano, tem experimentado um boom de popularidade sem precedentes. O fenômeno Despacito e os hits que o sucederam têm dado a tônica nas plataformas de streaming e colocado artistas como Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Ozuna e Bad Bunny para brigar pelos postos mais altos com artistas anglo nas listas de popularidade mundo afora. O mercado fonográfico vive um momento em que não é preciso mais gravar em inglês para alcançar uma audiência global. Os tempos são outros daqueles de 2001, quando Shakira fez seu invejado crossover com um álbum majoritariamente em inglês e que vendeu mais de 13 milhões de cópias.
E a figura mais ilustre de Barranquilla tem o mercado de música latina aos seus pés. Ela é a expoente máxima do gênero. Tudo o que lança em espanhol vira ouro. Seu disco Sale el Sol (2010) vendeu mais de 4 milhões de cópias, em uma época em que a música latina não estava na moda. El Dorado (2017) explodiu nas plataformas de streaming com mais de 6 bilhões de reproduções combinadas, se tornando um dos álbuns femininos mais bem-sucedidos do seu ano em nível global. Ele foi o motor para uma exitosa turnê mundial, que lotou estádios e arenas em três continentes e atraiu quase 1 milhão de pessoas. Hoje, Shakira pode abrir mão, se quiser, de gravar em inglês para atingir seu público sem fronteiras. A língua deixou de ser uma barreira.
Essa “comodidade” e tendência de mercado também podem ter pesado na decisão de Shakira de não lançar um single em inglês às portas do Super Bowl. Este colunista que vos fala não sabe se ela ainda tem intenção de apostar em um hit feito para vingar na terra do Tio Sam nos próximos meses. Mas fato é que ela pode se dar o luxo de não fazê-lo e, não importa o idioma, Shakira ainda tem muito a oferecer a seus fãs e a sua audiência espalhada pelos quatro cantos do planeta.

FIFA World Cup Russia Official Song to Be Performed by All-Star Line-Up
Will Smith, Nicky Jam, and Era Istrefi to perform ‘Live It Up’, the Official Song of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia
Some of the most celebrated players in the world of football will be joined in Russia by some of the biggest stars of today’s international music scene. As part of another exciting collaboration between FIFA and Sony Music, Will Smith, Nicky Jam, and Era Istrefi will perform ‘Live It Up’, the Official Song of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia produced by DJ and songwriter, Diplo.
Ahead of the final on 15 July, the music stars will warm up the 80,000 spectators at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium and around one billion people watching on TV just a few minutes before the two finalists come out on to the pitch.
Until then, fans will have enough time to learn the lyrics as “Live It Up” will be released on multiple streaming platforms this Friday, 25 May. The FIFA World Cup Official Music Video will be available as of 7 June.
“It is an honour to be asked to perform at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This global event brings people from all over the world together to cheer, laugh and experience magic.

The tradition of an Official Song dates back to the 1966 FIFA World Cup in England with a song for the first Official Mascot, “World Cup Willie”. Since then, the Official Music Programme and the Official Mascot have become a more and more significant component of the event, providing an excellent opportunity for more than just football fans to identify with the world’s biggest single-sport event.
