Because oh my fucking god she literally deserves everything. She's been working so hard since she was at least, ten. So like, six years of trying so hard and constantly failing at auditions. She canonically failed 50 different auditions and she keeps trying. And after six years of failure after failure after failure she meets her idol and crush Haruka Kiritani. She gets to be friends with Haruka Kiritani. Not only that, she befriends Airi Momoi and Shizuku Hinomori two other big name idols and they help her with her dancing and her singing. It's like a dream come true!

Until she finds out why Haruka can't go back to being an idol.

But Minori being Minori wants to give Haruka the same hope she gave Minori all her life. And now, somehow, miraculously, all of Minori's hard work finally paid off in the best way: she's in an idol group with her idol and two other really amazing idols!

Sure, things aren't easy at first. No agencies would take them so they're freelancing now. But they can livestream!!

But, people don't like Minori the same way they like the others (because they're actually fucking stupid) so Minori works harder. More! More! More!

And she showed them. She's been working so hard, she is still working so hard. That's who she is, a hard worker. The fact she can stick to what she's doing is absolutely amazing and cool and great and I sweat to good Minori deserves all the good things that happen to her. what gets me about the shadow/maria dynamic is that it takes the trope of "weak helpless girl dies for a tragic plot device" and subverts it

Maria wasn't helpless in her fate. She did have a choice. Shadow would have been strong enough to protect them both (Where else could they even go? Would he need to hurt someone?) but instead she made a choice to protect Shadow.

Shadow's story isn't tragic because he failed to protect Maria and now spends the rest of his life tormented over it. Shadow's story is tragic because he is the strongest creature alive, but raw power isn't always enough, and his loving friend made a sacrifice to let him go hoping she was giving him a chance to learn compassion because she was strong!

Maria's purpose isn't that she's a weak little girl who dies. Maria's legacy is that she protects the strongest creature alive, and teaches it the strength of love.

Her character gives the moment purpose, not the other way around. Her willingness to die so he can go free, asking him to use his strength to protect the people of Earth, despite everything. It's her proof of love that gives Shadow's burden that kind of extreme weight. Shadow will live forever and with so much limitless power, would life be easy to discard without a second thought? Not Maria's. Not when she asked him to protect it. That weight will remind him, always.

It feels utterly criminal that I've waited over a year since first drawing/coming up with her before even posting anything of her and now I'm dumping it all at once! 😭

This is Jayce's drider ex, Leticia, an aerial dancer, who he first met going to a club with his tracker buddies to celebrate his big untrackable find. Wanting to look cool with them, but immediately falls in love instead lmao. She was not convinced his feelings were genuine for a while at first, due to either fetishized or teased for being half spider (even with being an empath herself), but he was adamant about having his feelings known and she eventually caved to his affections and they were together for several years...

Eventually she was wanting to settle down and didn't like how dangerous his job was as a tracker and things got a bit rough towards the end. He didn't want to stop tracking, but he promised her one last mission where he might not need to anymore if he could find and open the coffer and release ancient magic for the world again, something that would benefit everyone! She thought he had ideals of grandeur too high to achieve and she went to stay with her folks for a bit, and then...

Jayce went missing for 5 years... She assumed eventually that he had passed and had to move on herself. She met someone else and started a family and has her second child on the way when Jayce finally returns again, far too late to try and fix things. She still cares for him a lot, but has moved on, while it's still fairly fresh in Jayce's mind as he was in stasis most of that time missing. They both wish each other happiness, but it still hurts...

Part of what charms and compels me in Jeyne Poole's arc is her reaction to her predicament. All the female POVs in this book are dealing with a lot of gendered violence, and they all deal in different but dignified forms... Jeyne is not a POV character and she is absolutely not dignified lol. She cries and begs, she is utterly helpless. But unlike most women in this book who are utterly helpless, she survives. It's frustrating how fans refuse to celebrate that, simply because there is no glory in it.

Ill be honest i dont think rose actually overshadowed martha in s3 its still very much the martha season and it wouldve been weird to just continue the show as if rose had never been there after all the time they spent showing us shes meant to be the love of his life or whatever (esp if you watch seasons 2, 3, 4 as one whole story that comes back around to rose in the end). The siblings haven't met each other in literal decades aside from the latter's final moments, but the fact that they're related is there, mirroring each other in the way Shamane goes cocky or makes tea or some other little idiosyncrasy, and after she notices, Kaalaa Baunaa is hit full speed with missing Kumar.
