I would like to thank Playframe’s Dad of Boy series outros for this song’s rent-free occupancy of my head over the last 2 years.

Character Profile: Music Edition - Jaaster Taras
For many of us, music is a source of inspiration for our characters, so I want to know what songs inspire and/or relate to your muse! Choose between 10-15 songs, compile them into an album and tag some friends to share the beat!
Tumblr media
(Disclaimer: Anyone looking for DMX or Baha Men in this list will be sorely disappointed.)
Wind - Sebastian Freij
A Blue-Green Color - metaphist
Dream of Green - The OC Jazz Collective
Fear of the Dark - Iron Maiden
Maybe your mind is playing tricks You sense, and suddenly eyes fix On dancing shadows from behind
Dragons - Stratovarius
But you’re stronger than they are Feel the wind in your hair And you’re faster than they are And it feels that you’re lighter than air
Mighty - Mega Ran
Be mighty - not because you want to but you have to Be bold, ain’t no time to be bashful Grab life by the horns like a natural Be sharp, be quick, and be agile
The Guru - The OC Jazz Collective
Rains of Sorrow - Holy Grail
Wash away the rains of sorrow, keep your fear at bay Find a way to change tomorrow, make it true today
Essence of the Four Elements - Eliott Tordo
The Wander - RiverSound
The Hero! - Jonathan Young
Don’t wanna hear you calling out my name I’m not here for fortune or fame Instead, I’ll fight knowing nobody knows my name
This one doesn’t go nearly as hard as Vander’s, though there is a bit of rock and metal among the selections. There’s a lot more jazz, some lighter hip hop, and and more than half of these tracks are straight-up instrumentals, too. He’s just a good boy that wants to help people. Sometimes, he’s just gotta kick some ass to do that.
Once again, thanks to @thanidiel for throwing the tag my way, and if you haven’t done one of these yet, here’s your tag.

Tale V.2 by LilyPichu on SoundCloud is probably one of my favorite piano pieces to listen to, gives my inspiration really easily, never get bored of it.
There’s also a cello cover of Minish Village from TLoZ: The Minish Cap by Sebastian Freij I’d recommend.
Knots by Watsky is also another favorite of mine.

OC ReMix #3295: Secret of Mana 'An Angel's Wish for the Forest' [ 'A Wish...', 'Fear of the Heavens', 'What the Forest Taught Me' ] by AeroZ
AeroZ is that Sebastian Freij who made that excellent cello-centric EP for the 7th Saga, so I knew this is gonna be good stuff.
No question, he has woven three different sources here so harmoniously together that everything seems to have always belonged together.
Lovely, truly!

Sebastian Freij - Seven Songs for Seventh Saga: IV. Sky
My final pick from the excellent “Seven Songs for Seventh Saga” album (and I think I reblogged good 60-70% or the tracks there?! :D ).
Beautiful stuff, worth checking out for classical music/cello fans and not only! (Info regarding the album is in the video info on Youtube.)

I stumbled across this video a few weeks back and it struct me. As an artist myself I find it absolutely fascinating to see art so beautifully embodied in people as it is with this man. Not only is it a beautiful adaption of the song, but there is something fascinating in watching it be created. It seems so simple and yet not at all.
I don't think I have ever been able to quite articulate why I'm so severely fascinated by things outside a simple "I just appreciate it", but I figured that for once I'd attempt.
In any kind of art form there is an expression that extends beyond the artist. I know when I think about creating my first film or when I put a pencil down on paper I feel I'm in a stunning moment of complete connection- a connection to my own creative soul, to my body, and to a life force mush bigger than my own and I cannot not think of a better feeling than that.
So I hold great appreciation for those passions outside my own because it speaks to me in a profound way. There is a sense of longing to feel connected and, perhaps, even to be able to do it. Envy I suppose, but more so than anything I am just fascinated by the fact that for a moment I caught a glimpse of greatness.
I'm sure none of that made sense, but I honestly don't think there is a real way to explain quite what goes through my head and it isn't even just about this song. In fact, it just moves me- maybe there isn't a rhyme or reason as to how or why... Maybe I just like to take a moment to appreciate the simple yet beautiful things, but if by some strange happening you understand what I mean by this then kudos to you because at this point I'm not sure I do anymore.
So now I leave you with a great video of a very talented young man playing a beautiful song on an electric cello.
