RIFKIN’S FESTIVAL de Woody Allen: Les films de ma vie

C’est toujours la même histoire depuis des années : le prolifique Woody Allen sort un nouveau long métrage et on lui reproche de livrer un film mineur n’étant pas à la hauteur de ce qu’il a fait de mieux au cours de sa longue et riche carrière. Mais je suis un fan fini et, encore maintenant, aussi tard dans sa filmographie, je savoure sa mise en scène, ses bons mots, les acteurs et actrices qu’il réunit, la musique jazz et tout ça. Son plus récent opus met en vedette Wallace Shawn dans le rôle de Mort Rifkin, un ancien professeur de cinéma qui peine depuis des années à écrire un livre, car il aspire à ne créer rien de moins qu’un chef-d’œuvre. Le récit se déroule au Festival international du film de San Sebastián, en Espagne, où il accompagne son épouse (Gina Gershon), une relationniste qu’il soupçonne de le tromper avec son client cinéaste (Louis Garrel). Mais avant longtemps, le petit intellectuel juif hypocondriaque (bref, un alter ego de Woody) contemple également l’adultère avec une charmante docteure espagnole (Elena Anaya)...

Rifkin’s Festival continue d’explorer les thèmes fétiches d’Allen, tout en incluant beaucoup de gags amusants, dans des décors incroyables baignant dans la lumière dorée et les couleurs pastel de la superbe photo de Vittorio Storaro, qui a filmé les quatre derniers longs métrages du réalisateur. L’élément qui, pour moi, élève ce film au-dessus de certains de ses prédécesseurs est la série de séquences de rêves sous forme d’hommages ludiques à des classiques en noir et blanc tels que Citizen Kane de Orson Welles, 8½ de Federico Fellini, Jules et Jim de François Truffaut, Un Homme et une femme de Claude Lelouch, À bout de souffle de Jean-Luc Godard, L’Ange exterminateur de Luis Bunuel, ainsi que Persona, Les Fraises sauvages et Le Septième sceau de Ingmar Bergman. Voici un film indéniablement tourné vers le passé, embrassant les grands noms internationaux qui font vibrer les cinémathèques depuis des décennies. En cette ère dominée par les films de superhéros et autres suites/reboots, c’est très rafraîchissant. Et de voir un cinéaste octogénaire avoir visiblement autant de plaisir à tourner des pastiches de ses films préférés demeure réjouissant.

Rifkin’s Festival sera lancé en salle et en vidéo sur demande le 28 janvier.

El borde de la palma de tu mano no sirve para nada comparado con una sierra mecánica, sólo hay que ponerla en marcha y empieza a cortar la madera. Pero la sierra siempre ignorará el destino de la corteza, la suavidad del fruto maduro o los pinchazos de las astillas. La sierra está perfectamente ordenada a hacer su tarea (fue fabricada para ello) y, por dicha razón, no puede tener ningún tropiezo. Lo único que le puede ocurrir es tener una avería. E incluso así, ese acontecimiento no le ocurre a ella. No puede ser consciente de él.

Tu gracia de payaso consistirá en vivir tus averías, ser consciente de tus malos funcionamientos, saber a lo que no te adaptas. Llegarán acontecimientos. Llegarán personas. Llegará, también, la muerte, que no tardará demasiado. Y tú estarás casi siempre en el dique seco, o sea, allí donde acaban fondeados los barcos turísticos y mercantes, que te juzgarán indigno de subir a bordo de ellos».

Uma das Bissexualidades que Hollywood Escondeu Anthony Richard Perkins (1932 — 1992), o ator norte-americano, imortalizado por seu desempenho como Norman Bates no filme Psicose (1960) de Alfred Hitchcock. O personagem que ele mesmo reviveu nas três sequências distribuídas pela Universal Pictures. Anthony Perkins nasceu em Nova York, em 04 de abril de 1932. Filho do ator de palco, Osgood Perkins. Ainda jovem em inicio da carreira afirmou sentir profunda angústia sobre a morte de seu pai quando ele tinha apenas cinco anos de idade, e que foi criado pela mãe, que ele mesmo definiu como "muito possessiva e bastante problemática". Aos 15 anos, Perkins se juntou aos Actors Equity Association, começou a atuar em peças teatrais eventualmente, e estudou na Faculdade Rollins College e na Universidade de Columbia. Ele fez sua estreia no cinema em The Actress (1953), e passou a participar de produções para a televisão e teatro, ganhando elogios por sua estréia na Broadway em 1954, na peça Tea and Sympathy. Perkins também foi cantor usando o codinome Tony Perkins. Em 1957, ele recebeu uma indicação ao Óscar, na categoria de melhor ator coadjuvante, por sua atuação em Friendly Persuasion de William Wyler, e a partir de então teve uma carreira meteórica chegando a fazer em média dois filmes por ano, atuando ao lado de grandes nomes femininos como Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Ingrid Bergman, Jane Fonda, Shirley Booth, Sophia Loren, Susan Sarandon,e Victoria Principal. Em 1960, Perkins entrou para a galeria dos grandes nomes de Hollywood, ao interpretar Norman Bates (um assassino em série baseado em Ed Gein) no clássico do suspense Psicose de Alfred Hitchcock. O filme foi um sucesso comercial e de crítica, e Perkins ganhou fama internacional. Por seu desempenho, ganhou o prêmio de Melhor Ator do Conselho Internacional de Cinematográficas Revisoras. O filme teve mais três continuações. A partir de Psicose ele passou a interpretar só personagens atormentados ou neuróticos, com grandes problemas psicológicos. Em 1961, Perkins venceu o prêmio de Melhor Ator no Festival de Cannes, por sua atuação em Goodbye Again ao lado de Ingrid Bergman. Ainda naquela década a sua atuação na Broadway também incluiu Neil Simon na comédia The Girl Star-Spangled, Frank Loesser e Greenwillow (1960), para o qual ele foi indicado para o Tony Award de Melhor Ator em Musical. Em 1966 atuou ao lado de Charmian Carr no musical Evening Primrose (1966). Com reconhecimento em alta Perkins partiu para uma carreira de sucesso na Europa. Listed: Elena Setién

Elena Setién is an artist defined by her vivid songwriting and nuanced compositions. The multi-instrumentalist grew up during a period of political upheaval in Spain in the Basque region. The turmoil of the post-dictatorship period of the 1980s and the intensive civic actions left her with a sense of duty to fight for progress. A brief encounter with Laurie Anderson more recently also profoundly affected Setién. Specifically, Anderson’s parting thoughts on being an artist today: “You just have to make something beautiful and free.” Setién's new album, Another Kind of Revolution, is out now on Thrill Jockey. In his review, Isaac Olson called it, "entrancing, and almost uncanny.”

Last year I was directed to this film on social media... it immediately caught my attention. Luckily the film was shown at Dock of The Bay, music documentary film festival here in San Sebastián. It is moving and utterly inspiring! As a musician I couldn't feel more related to this film- it is a beautiful portrait of a true and existential music and life explorer. Go and see this film if you can!!!

Snowflakes are dancing—Isao Tomita

Japanese synth guru, Isao Tomita, did the most wonderful, spaced versions of Debussy's music. His album Snowflakes are Dancing is mind blowing. My father had it in his record collection for decades but it was not until he recently died, that I seriously valued it.

In 2017, my Scandinavian agent, Tone Chamber, set a series of concerts in Denmark. I was playing double bills with US duo Probosci. It was great to travel and share stages- Timba Harris, Gyan Ryley and I. Our conversations led to how drone based music came to the west back in the sixties and this film is a little jewel that gives us an insight on north Indian Pandit Pran Nath's journey to the US and how he met Terry Riley. A life changing encounter of two musicians who instantly felt related- a voyage into the soul of music.

Sipo Phantasma is a great artistic documentary film... it was intended to be an observationist documentary film on cruise ship holidays but became something quite different.

In 2002, after having decided I didn't want to pursue a career as a classical violinist, I followed my intuition and moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, in search of a music scene. I wanted to sing, and I wanted to find my own voice. Very early on I was drawn to the improv underground scene. Maria Laurette Friis and her project, Tys Tys, changed my concept of what "jazz singing" and composition was.

Another childhood memory of a film that broadened my horizons. A magnificent film that tells a story through the eyes of a young boy... all feelings are shown, the good and the bad ones. I identified with Alexander and was in love with him at the same time.

Back in the early eighties, being a little girl, I was lucky to drive to Paris with my family, to see the grand opening of a major crystal exhibition. It was at the Paris Museum of Natural History. As part of the opening, there was a film: The Dark Crystal. Seeing that film and the crystal exhibition made a huge impact on me- those crystals were around five times my height and I felt I had literally stepped into a mystical world.

Sweco acquires Finnish architecture company Linja Arkkitehdit

Sweco has signed an agreement to acquire Linja Arkkitehdit Oy, specialised in design of educational and business premises as well as residential buildings. With the acquisition Sweco becomes one of the largest architecture companies in Finland.

Linja Arkkitehdit Oy has approximately 60 architects located in Oulu, Helsinki and Jyväskylä. The company offers architectural services in the design of educational establishments, residential premises and business premises. The revenue of Linja Arkkitehdit during 2020 was EUR 5.3 million.

“This acquisition is fully in line with our history and strategy to be able to provide integrated architecture and technical consultancy services to our clients. I am pleased that we are strengthening our architectural offering in Finland,” says Åsa Bergman, President and CEO of Sweco.

“Sweco and Linja Arkkitehdit have already successfully cooperated in several projects over the years, and now we are able to deepen the cooperation even further. The acquisition strengthens our client relationships through our ability to offer them a broader set of services and expertise together,” says Markku Varis, President of Sweco Finland.

“I am very pleased that Linja Arkkitehdit has found a home to grow together with Sweco. Sweco’s expertise and position is highly recognised in the industry, and Sweco is already a familiar and reliable partner for us. Through the acquisition, Sweco will have 120 architects in the Finnish market, including those joining Sweco through the acquisition of Optiplan in January 2021. In total, Sweco Group has around 1,400 architects and landscape architects and is one of the world’s five largest architecture firms.

DORA publica su nuevo single "Quiéreme (aunque no es tu estilo)"....... DORA vuelve después de unos meses de silencio con “Quiéreme (Aunque no es tu estilo)”, una canción artesanal, delicada y cargada de emoción. Una pieza de orfebrería que se asoma al pop orquestal contemporáneo de Woodkid, Sebastián Tellier o Beck. "Quiéreme (Aunque no es tu estilo)" es una pequeña fábula en forma de canción, que canta a un amor que parece habitar en otra dimensión. Una suerte de amor imposible que se escurre en la noche y que DORA parece perseguir entre imágenes oníricas. Quiéreme es un tema en ¾ que bien podría sonar a bulería sino fuera por una producción que remite mas bien a banda sonora de ciencia ficción, pero que sin embargo acaba sonando a valsen un inesperado giro final. Una construcción compleja en tiempos y formas, pero que nos suena tremendamente natural en la voz y el piano de DORA. La producción, a cargo de Phonographe, el grupo formado por Tomás Virgós y Pablo Serrano, discurre por un terreno valiente, donde converge el sonido de la banda (vanguard jazz, electrónica) y que sirve de aperitivo a su próximo EP. El tema ha sido mezclado y masterizado por Alex Ferrer, detrás del sonido de nombres como C.Tangana, Delorean, Pimp Flaco o Dellafuente. El video clip, dirigido por Pedro Artola, viene a completar de una manera contundente el discurso de la canción. Un universo cargado de imágenes poderosas e inquietantes, con referencias a Buñuel o Bergman, que sirve de ventana perfecta a ese mundo onírico que refiere la letra de Quiéreme. Claire Denis, homenajeada del 23 Festival de Cine de Lima: 7 claves para comprender la trascendencia de su obra

Claire Denis (París, 1946) se encuentra sin duda entre las directoras de cine más importantes de los últimos treinta años, y, por qué no decirlo, de todos los tiempos. El que el Festival de Cine de Lima la invite y rinda un homenaje en esta 23 edición, es no solamente una acertada decisión, sino un acontecimiento para la cinefilia local y una oportunidad para la aproximación. Anotemos algunas claves para ayudarnos a comprender la trascendencia de la obra y figura de Claire Denis.

1. Sus películas suelen estar en las listas de críticos de lo mejor del año. Más allá, por ejemplo, S'en fout la mort (1990) y Beau travail (1999) figuran en la lista del conocido libro 1001 películas que hay que ver antes de morir, editado por Steven Schneider, mientras que L'intrus (2004) fue escogido dentro de los mejores filmes de la década 2000-2009 por la Cinematheque del Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto, y White Material (2009), entre las mejores películas del siglo 21, en una encuesta formulada por la BBC a 177 críticos alrededor del mundo, así como en una top 25 de los críticos del New York Times. A su vez, High Life (2018) está entre las 100 mejores películas de la década de los 2010s, según la comentada reciente lista de Indiewire.

2. Claire Denis ha forjado un estilo propio y reconocible en estos treinta años de filmografía suya. Fue criada en países como Senegal, Burkina Faso y Camerún, en la época que eran colonias francesas. De allí que un tema recurrente en su obra haya sido el colonialismo y poscolonialismo, como en Beau travail (1999) y las autobiográficas Chocolat (1988), y White Material (2009), que están entre sus filmes más aclamados. En su tránsito por géneros está presente el drama bélico o la meditación filosófica, pero también el melodrama familiar y la comedia romántica. Cómo no, Denis tampoco le ha rehuido al cine erótico o el thriller de terror, hasta llegar a la ciencia ficción. Entre otros sellos, su mirada cinematográfica se posa sobre los rostros y cuerpos de sus protagonistas; y sus movimientos, a menudo pausados; otras veces, muy coreográficos.

3. Decenas de veces ha sido nominada a premios y sus filmes elegidos en selecciones oficiales en competencia de relevantes festivales de cine, incluidos los de Cannes, Venecia, San Sebastián y Sitges. Asimismo, entre sus distinciones destacadas están el Leopardo de Oro en el Festival de Locarno, por Nénette et Boni (1996); el Prix SACD al mejor guión en la Semana de la Crítica de Cannes, por Un beau soleil intérieur (2017); y el premio FIPRESCI a la mejor película del Festival de Cine de San Sebastián, por High Life (2018). Todo aparte de más de un homenaje al conjunto de su carrera. Uno de ellos, el del Festival de Estocolmo, la reconoce como una directora que “continúa buscando lo que otros rechazan, siempre sin miedos, y con un ojo particular para la poesía visual.”.

4. La ficción de Claire Denis parte de o ha sido inspirada por la literatura, el ensayo o el cine clásico, no obstante también por lo real, biográfico o autobiográfico. Más bien su incursión en el cine documental ha sido puntual, como en sus segmentos en los antológicos À propos de Nice, la suite (1995), sobre la ciudad francesa de Niza, y Venice 70: Future Reloaded (2013), reflexiones sobre el futuro del cine; o como en Man No Run (1989) y Vers Mathilde (2005), que han versado sobre historias de música y danza; la primera sobre Les Têtes Brulées, una banda camerunesa; la segunda sobre Mathilde Monnier, una coreógrafa francesa. De hecho, la música no está ausente del cine de Denis y notable es su preferencia por Tindersticks, una agrupación inglesa de rock alternativo que tiene publicados varios soundtracks originales para películas suyas.

5. Antes de escribir y dirigir Chocolat (1988), su opera prima, Denis se desempeñó en la asistencia de dirección o en la dirección de segunda unidad de una veintena de películas desde 1974. Entre ellas, fue primera asistente de dirección de maestros y películas icónicas como Hanna K. (1983), de Costa-Gavras; Down by Law (1986), de Jim Jarmusch; y París, Texas (1984) y El cielo sobre Berlín (1987), de Wim Wenders. Este video de la serie “Closet Picks” de Criterion, nos da cuenta de su amor hacia autores como Dreyer, Godard, Demy, Suzuki, Hawks y Bergman. Sin embargo, nos gusta quedarnos con su relación de amistad y admiración hacia Agnès Varda: “ella hizo cosas por su cuenta cuando nadie más podría… Estaba siempre por delante, tomando lo que ella quisiera.” (Interview Magazine).

6. Agnès Varda (1928-2019) era probablemente la máxima personificación viva de la fuerte mujer directora de cine. Apostamos a que Claire Denis ocupa ahora ese lugar y representa necesaria inspiración. Para anotar muestra de ello, una directora en ascenso de firme visión es la estadounidense Greta Gerwig, quien ha dicho de Denis: “La realizadora que hizo que me enamorara del cine fue Claire Denis con Beau travail, que vi cuando tenía 19 años mientras estaba en la universidad. Yo entré cuando la estaban proyectando y me quedé fascinada porque nunca antes había visto algo así.” (La Vanguardia). Específicamente hablando del presente movimiento de cine francés hecho por mujeres (Mia Hansen-Love, Céline Sciamma, Justine Triet, Emmanuelle Bercot, son sólo algunas de sus integrantes), podemos hablar de Claire Denis como de quien se encuentra a la cabeza del mismo.

İstanbul Film Festivali tarafından sinemaya gönül ve emek veren isimlere takdim edilen Sinema Onur Ödülleri bu yıl oyuncu Perihan Savaş, yazar ve senarist Osman Şahin, yönetmen Aram Gülyüz ve yapımcı Arif Keskiner’e verilecek. Festivalin en eski sinemalarından Atlas Sineması’nın 22 yıldır müdürlüğünü sürdüren Cevdet Pişkin’e ise Sinema Emek Ödülü verilecek. Ödüller, 6 Nisan Cuma gecesi yapılacak 37. İstanbul Film Festivali Açılış Töreni’nde takdim edilecek.

Köprüde Buluşmalar

Türkiye’den sinemacıları uluslararası sektör profesyonelleri ile buluşturan ilk etkinlik olan ve bu yıl 13’üncüsü düzenlenen Köprüde Buluşmalar ortak yapım platformu İstanbul Film Festivali kapsamında, 6-13 Nisan tarihlerinde düzenleniyor. Köprüde Buluşmalar Film Geliştirme Atölyesi, Work in Progress ve Komşular atölyelerinde Türkiye’den ve komşu ülkelerden uzun metraj kurmaca ve belgesel projeleri ile postprodüksiyon aşamasındaki filmlerin uluslararası film sektörüne ilk sunumları 12 ve 13 Nisan tarihlerinde yapılıyor. Köprüde Buluşmalar kapsamında uzmanların katılımıyla düzenlenen ve görsel-işitsel sektörün yeniliklerinin ve film yapımına dair konuların irdelendiği Sinema Konuşmaları’nın yanı sıra uluslararası market ve fon temsilcileri ile tanışma programları da yer alıyor.

Festivalde Yarışma Heyecanı

37. İstanbul Film Festivali’nde yarışma heyecanı 8 Nisan’da başlayacak. Uluslararası Yarışma, Sinemada İnsan Hakları Yarışması, Ulusal Yarışma, Ulusal Belgesel ve Ulusal Kısa Film yarışmalarında ödül kazanan filmler, 17 Nisan Salı akşamı düzenlenecek İstanbul Film Festivali Ödül Töreni’nde açıklanacak.

ULUSLARARASI YARIŞMA

İstanbul Film Festivali’nin Uluslararası Yarışma bölümünde festivalin büyük ödülü Altın Lale için, “sinemaya yeni bakışlar” temasını izleyen filmler yarışıyor. 37. İstanbul Film Festivali Uluslararası Yarışma bölümünde 11 ülkeden 11 film yer alıyor.

SİNEMADA İNSAN HAKLARI YARIŞMASI

12 yıldır sadece İstanbul Film Festivali’nde verilen ödülüyle Sinemada İnsan Hakları Yarışması bu yıl da devam ediyor. Ödül, Eurimages fonunun verdiği 5.000 avro para ödülü ile destekleniyor. Yarışma jürisinde New Yorklu sanatçı ve bu yıl festival programında yer alan Looking for Oum Kulthum / Ümmü Gülsüm’ün Peşinde filminin yönetmeni Shirin Neshat, radyo ve televizyon kültür-sanat programları yapımcısı Christine Masson ve yapımcı, yönetmen Erol Mintaş yer alacak.

ULUSAL YARIŞMA

Ulusal Yarışma’da Altın Lale Ödülü için, yapımı 2017-2018 sezonunda tamamlanan 13 film yarışacak. Bu yıl yarışmadaki 10 filmin dünya prömiyeri, birinin ise Türkiye prömiyeri yapılacak. Altın Lale Ulusal Yarışma Jürisi En İyi Film, En İyi Yönetmen, Jüri Özel Ödülü, En İyi Kadın Oyuncu, En İyi Erkek Oyuncu, En İyi Senaryo, En İyi Görüntü Yönetmeni, En İyi Kurgu ve En İyi Müzik olmak üzere toplam 9 dalda ödül verecek.

ULUSAL BELGESEL YARIŞMASI

İstanbul Film Festivali’nin belgesel sinemayı ve belgeselcileri desteklemek amacıyla düzenlediği Ulusal Belgesel Yarışması’nda en iyi filme 10.000 TL değerinde En İyi Belgesel Ödülü verilecek. Ulusal Belgesel Yarışma Jürisi’nde yönetmen Ayat Najafi, Belgesel Sinemacılar Birliği Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Mustafa Ünlü ve Bozcaada Uluslararası Ekolojik Belgesel Festivali direktörü Petra Holzer yer alıyor. Gösterilecek belgesellerden 10 film Türkiye prömiyerini İstanbul Film Festivali’nde yapacak.

ÖZEL GÖSTERİMLER

İstanbul Film Festivali kapsamında Türkiye tarihinin en değerli ve en renkli kahramanlarından üç çınarın portresini anlatan üç farklı belgeselin de Özel Gösterimi yapılacak. Dünyanın en önemli Sümerologlarından 104 yaşındaki Muazzez İlmiye Çığ, yönetmen, sanat yönetmeni, senarist ve eğitimci Duygu Sağıroğlu ve dünyaca ünlü yazar Yaşar Kemal’in dopdolu hayatlarını anlatan belgeseller festivalde izleyicilerle buluşacak.

ULUSAL KISA FİLM YARIŞMASI

Ulusal Kısa Film Yarışması, İstanbul Film Festivali tarafından kısa film yapımını özendirmek, bu alanda gelişimi desteklemek ve nitelikli kısa filmleri izleyiciye buluşturmak amacıyla yapılıyor. Ulusal Kısa Film Yarışması’nda bu yıl 12 film yer alıyor. Yarışmanın jürisinde Transilvanya Uluslararası Film Festivali sanat yönetmeni ve kurucularından Mihai Chirilov, yönetmenler Ceylan Özçelik ile Onur Saylak yer alıyor. Jüri tarafından seçilecek En İyi Kısa Film 5.000 TL ile ödüllendirilecek. Uluslararası Sinema Eleştirmenleri Birliği (FIPRESCI) jürisi de yarışmadaki bir filme ödül verecek.

SEYFİ TEOMAN EN İYİ İLK FİLM ÖDÜLÜ

2012 yılında kaybettiğimiz yönetmen ve yapımcı Seyfi Teoman anısına verilen Seyfi Teoman En İyi İlk Film Ödülü’nü kazanan filmin yönetmenine sonraki çalışmalarını teşvik etmek üzere CMYLMZ Fikirsanat aracılığıyla 30.000 TL ödül verilecek.

Festivalin Bol Yıldızlı Bölümü: Vodafone Red Galaları

İstanbul Film Festivali’nin en sevilen bölümlerinden ve bu yıl Vodafone Red sponsorluğunda gerçekleştirilen Vodafone Red Galaları’nda, yıldızları usta yönetmenlerle buluşturan ve sezonun merakla beklenen filmlerin Türkiye’deki ilk gösterimleri yapılacak. Vodafone Red Galaları’nda bu yıl gösterilecek filmler arasında Wes Anderson’ın Berlin Film Festivali’nin açılışında gösterilen son filmi Isle of Dogs / Köpek Adası ve Yabancı Dilde En İyi Film dalında Oscar alan yönetmen Sebastián Lelio’nun başrollerinde Rachel Weisz ile Rachel McAdams’ın rol aldığı son filmi Disobedience / İtaatsizlik gibi birçok ödüllü film yer alıyor.

Vodafone Red Galaları bölümünde gösterilecek diğer filmler arasında Isabel Coixet’in Berlin Film Festivali’nde dünya prömiyerini yapan, Penelope Fitzgerald’ın romanından beyazperdeye uyarladığı son filmi The Bookshop / Sahaf, ünlü İngiliz oyuncu Rupert Everett’in ilk kez kamera arkasına da geçerek Oscar Wilde’ı canlandırdığı The Happy Prince / Mutlu Prens ve Oscar’lı canlandırma ustası Nick Park’ın eğlenceli, hareketli yeni canlandırma filmi Early Man / Taş Devri Firarda da gösterilecek.

Michael Pearce’ın muhteşem manzara çekimleriyle büyülerken boğucu toplum baskısı eşliğinde gerilim dozu gitgide artan, dünya prömiyerini Toronto Film Festivali’nde yapan ilk filmi Beast / Canavar, Alman auteur Christian Petzold’un Berlin Film Festivali’nde dünya prömiyerini yapan ve geçmişten bir mülteci hikâyesini günümüzde anlattığı son filmi Transit, Lynne Ramsey’nin Cannes Film Festivali’nde En İyi Senaryo ve En İyi Erkek Oyuncu ödüllerini alan Joaquin Phoenix’li son filmi You Were Never Really Here, Steven Soderbergh’in dünya prömiyerini Berlin Film Festivali’nde yapan ve tamamen iPhone ile çekilen son filmi Unsane / Saplantı, yönetmen Erick Zonca’nın Wisdom of the Crowd dizisinin senaristi Dror Mishani’nin romanından uyarladığı Black River / Siyah Nehir de Vodafone Red Galaları filmleri arasında yer alıyor.

Festivalin açılış filmi de Vodafone Red Galaları kapsamında. Weekend ve 45 Years filmleriyle tanınan, küçük ve basit öykülere yaklaşımındaki hassasiyet ve zarafetle sinemaseverler tarafından baş tacı edilen İngiliz yönetmen Andrew Haigh’in son filmi Lean On Pete, bir genç ile bir at arasındaki dostluğu anlatıyor. Berlin Film Festivali’nde en iyi filme verilen Altın Ayı’ya layık görülen Romen yönetmen Adina Pintilie’nin ilk uzun metrajlı filmi Touch Me Not / Dokunma Bana Türkiye prömiyeri ise festivalin hemen ardından 19 Nisan Perşembe günü 3 sinemada aynı anda gerçekleştirilecek.

Festivalin En Yenisi: Çiçek İstemez

37. İstanbul Film Festivali’nin bu yılki yeni bölümlerinden biri de Çiçek İstemez. Kahramanı güçlü kadınlar olan filmlerin bir araya geldiği bölüm kapsamında gerçek hayatta da sinemada da baskılara boyun eğmeyen, kendi yolunu çizen, kendi ayakları üzerinde duran kadınların hikâyelerini anlatan filmler yer alıyor. Çiçek İstemez bölümünde İran’dan Belçika’ya Arjantin’den Gürcistan’a 10 film yer alıyor. Absürd mizahi tonları, yaratıcılık mekanizmalarına bakışı ve özgürleşen kadın figürünü ele alışıyla birçok uluslararası festivalden ödülle dönen Scary Mother / Korkunç Anne, İran’ın en tanınmış televizyon ve sinema oyuncularından Rambod Javan’ın kamera arkasına geçtiği Negar / Nigar, Fransa’da bir iş kadınının hikâyesini anlatan Number One / Bir Numara, erkeklik, bağlılık ve müstehcenlik kavramlarıyla iyiden iyiye dalga geçen Of Skin and Men / Erkeklere Bakmak, Arjantinli yönetmen Anahí Berneri’nin toplumsal ve ekonomik çöküşün gerçekçi bir portresini çizdiği Alanis ve daha fazlası bu bölümde yer alıyor.

Bergman 100 Yaşında

37. İstanbul Film Festivali dünya sinemasının en saygın yönetmenlerinden Ingmar Bergman’ı, doğumunun 100. yılında Volvo Car Turkey sponsorluğunda özel bir bölümle anıyor. 1944’ten 2003’e uzanan 59 yıllık sinema kariyeri süresince 45 uzun metrajlı film ve 170’in üzerinde tiyatro oyunu yöneten ve birçok filmin de senaryosuna imza atan İsveçli yönetmen, birçok sinemacının kariyerini ve filmlerini şekillendiren, çağdaş sinema sanatının en etkileyici filmlerinden bazılarını çekti. Sinemada felsefenin izlerini süren yönetmen yapıtlarında özellikle aile, ölüm ve inanç gibi yaşamın en temel, üzerinde en çok kafa yorulan sorunsallarını ele aldı.

Festival Sohbetleri

37. İstanbul Film Festivali bu yıl yine birçok ulusal ve uluslararası konuk ağırlıyor. Bu yıl yine hem sinema profesyonelleri, hem de festival takipçileri tarafından merakla beklenen festival sohbetleri gerçekleştiriliyor. Bu yıl festivalin Uluslararası Yarışma jürisinde yer alan ve ikinci uzun metrajlı filmi Looking for Oum Kulthum / Ümmü Gülsüm’ün Peşinde bu yılki festival programında bulunan Shirin Neshat, fotoğraf, sinema ve görsel sanata dair düşünceleri ve deneyimlerini sinemaseverler ve hayranlarıyla paylaşıyor. Yine festivalin Uluslararası Yarışma jürisinde yer alan, festival programında yer alan Ammore e malavita / Sevda ve Kurşunlar filminin müzikleriyle Venedik Film Festivali’nde ödüllendirilen ve Türkiye’de özellikle Ferzan Özpetek’in Hamam filmine yaptığı müzikleriyle tanınan Pivio festival sohbetinde yıldızlarla bezeli müzikal yolculuğunun dönüm noktalarını izleyiciler ve müzikseverlerle paylaşacak.

Türk sinemasının köşe taşları, “öykücülüğümüzün Toros zirvesi Osman Şahin”, “Yeşilçam’ın en üretken muzip yönetmeni” Aram Gülyüz ve her sinemacının yolunun kesiştiği Arif Keskiner, Yeşilçam’dan bugüne isimli bu çok özel sohbette İstanbul Film Festivali Danışma Kurulu’nun onursal üyesi Atilla Dorsay moderatörlüğünde bir araya geliyor. Yazar ve senarist Osman Şahin, özgün öyküleriyle birlikte sinemaya en çok uyarlanan yazar sayılıyor; Aram Gülyüz’ün 1958’den günümüze yönetmen olarak imza attığı filmlerin sayısı 140’a ulaşıyor; Arif Keskiner ise özellikle yapımcılıkla sinemamıza birçok başyapıt kazandıran bir sinemacı. Sinema yazarı Atilla Dorsay ile bu yıl festivalin Sinema Onur Ödüllerini alacak olan bu değerli sinemacıların sohbetini Yeşilçam’ı sevenler kaçırmasın.

Festivalin Sinemada Edebiyat konulu bir diğer sohbetinde ise şiir, roman, deneme, günlük gibi pek çok edebî türde yapıtlar veren ve bu yıl festivalin Ulusal Yarışma jürisinde yer alan Küçük İskender ile birbirine çok yakın, bir yandan da çok uzak iki sanat dalı, sinema ile edebiyatın ilişkisi tartışılacak. TRT’de kameramanlıkla başladığı kariyerini 1996’dan bu yana görüntü yönetmeni olarak sürdüren, bu görevi üstlendiği birçok filmle ulusal ve uluslararası yarışmalarda birçok ödül kazan ve bu yıl festivalin Ulusal Yarışma jürisinde yer alan Gökhan Tiryaki ise festival sohbetinde sanatını takip eden sinemaseverler ve sinemacılarla buluşacak.
