Hey so I was wondering if you have any headcanons about Solomon you'd like to share
Gosh alright I may or may not have some controversial takes here—
Literally Just a Bunch of My Solomon Headcanons
Used to be pretty ruthless and unattached early on with most of his pacts, but over time (and upon realizing that his main possible long term companions are demons because of his immortality) mellowed out and became pretty amicable towards the demons he’s got pacts with.
Not every demon is as nice or forgiving as Asmo and Barbatos though, so he avoids a good chunk of the 72 demons he’s got a pact with and doesn’t forge any more pacts despite the huge number of demons lining up to make pacts with him
He also doesn’t want to be used, and he knows that some of those demons just want a pact with him for bragging rights
I’m one of those people who believe he’s got his skin littered with pact marks, and they all look like the usual ones we see where they all look like complex runes and sigils. (On the other hand, MC’s pact marks look completely different because the brothers updated them to more modern looking ones as the times changed lmao)
He’s based on King Solomon the Wise, but his lines in his confession in Ch 46 make me think that devs did what they did with the brothers and cherry picked facts about him—so personally I think Obey Me’s Solomon didn’t have his real world counterpart’s hundreds of wives and concubines
That funky little wand that you see him use in his chibi dance battle spite (which I guess is just like the wand MC uses in Simeon’s UR+ card when he’s not all cute and chibi) is just his lesser focus for casual casting. He’s got a proper staff that he can summon freely, but only uses it for more serious, dire occasions since it hikes his powers up to 11, and he’s already crazy strong to begin with
The coat he wears draped over his shoulders is enchanted to withstand most offensive spells, corrosive material, and other non-magical ways of attacking someone. He can also summon it at will if he doesn’t have it on him. Eventually he gifts MC a similarly enchanted coat after they become a sorcerer, resembling his in some way but also in line with MC’s tastes.
His Ring of Wisdom is magically invisible and hidden almost all the time, only becoming visible when he takes it off. It’s mostly to keep individuals interested in it from realizing he has it and trying to steal it from him, and eventually he offers to teach MC how to do this with their Ring of Light
He goes on a lot of solo excursions, looking for magical artifacts, locations, and creatures for research. Both to satisfy his own curiosity ad thirst for knowledge and to beat the Sorcerer’s Society to the punch out of spite.
While he’s on bad terms with the Sorcerer’s Society, they still respect and need him for a lot of things since he’s the only one they can go to for a lot of more complex problems, having been there since its founding and also being, you know, the most powerful sorcerer in all of humanity. On some occasions when they’re really desperate for his help, they manage to work out deals with him that are mostly in his favor.
Not exactly a Solomon headcanon, but for some reason I think the Sorcerer’s Society functions like a magical SCP Foundation with way less world-ending things to keep under wraps? And are fully intent on keeping magic a secret from most of the human populace. In my head they’re somewhat against Diavolo’s plan of uniting the three realms because they’d rather humans stay ignorant of magic and demons and angels being real, and Solomon’s kinda banking on MC’s membership with them to help ease up their old ways.
His house is located in a forest somewhere and has a ward cast to deter wanderers from finding it. He used to live in cities and towns but eventually got tired of having to move every fifty years or so when people were catching on that he wasn’t aging.
Yeah he somehow has electricity and running water no matter how distant from humanity his home might be.
His home is very cottagecore, but make it darker and more eclectic. Maybe a fusion of that and dark academia? With a pretty cozy feel to it. Or like Florence Welch’s house.
For convenience, I think he moves into whatever MC’s town of residence is some time after they accept an apprenticeship under him, probably buying an apartment with some of the massive amounts of wealth he’s saved up over the years. And it pays off because he gets to spend time with his lovely student and eventually the angels show up in town so all wins here!
He’s really good at wood carving and can bind his own books. Lots of his journals were handmade by him in his free time.
Also really good at embroidery from having to embroider runes onto things.
Definitely has a huge potted garden of both magical and non-magical plants in his kitchen. No, he doesn’t separate between the usual cooking herbs and his potion making ones.
The Cat(3) trio send pics and videos of the various cats around the Devildom and human world to the chat.
They also send each other pictures of interesting books and antiques and artwork they find.
I fully believe in a really cute and somewhat domestic friendship and maybe a polycule that’s either a vee with MC as the pivot or a triad between the Cat(3) trio okay so that means at some point MC and Satan come together to teach Solomon how to cook… Though all the taste testing is done by MC >.>;;
Yeah so that’s all I can come up with I guess I’m sorry this took so long??? I had it halfway done, saved it to drafts, forgot about it, then remembered when I went to check my cue and saw that I had one draft lmao

Alright then, YOUR MC showing off some hidden talent/skill nobody ever expected her to have :D
“So are we gonna play or what?” I bounced off the bench where I’d been waiting.  We had waited until the evening when the hot summer sun was not beating down so hard.
Johann and I had just started dating and he owed me a basketball game from when we first met. He hesitated for a while but here he was, a basketball under his arm, wearing shorts and a Zach Lavine jersey. His shoes were the same high quality as the Bred 11s he wore when we met, but these were a more well worn pair.
All the boys on the street I lived on growing up had dreams of going to the NBA, playing for the Chicago Bulls and making heaps of money. That’s all we wanted back then. They didn’t think playing with some short, skinny ballet girl was going to get them anywhere, but Robbie forced the boys to play with me and that’s how I learned.
He passed the ball to me and I immediately turned and arced the ball into the basket, before running to retrieve it.  I took another shot, sinking it without touching the rim.
“Uh…”
I caught it and tucked it under my arm, a sparkle in my eyes. “Are we playing or are we playing?”
Again that hesitation. “I thought we were just going to do free throws.”
I had the ball now. “I know, but I’m feeling good today.“
“You… wanna play for real?” He asked, uncertain.
I enthusiastically agreed as if he had a choice. “Yeah! It will be fun! Let’s play for 5 half court, if that’s alright with you.”
“I won’t go easy on you.” He tilted his head.
My smile vanished. I sidled up to him, dribbling the ball from one hand to another, meeting his eyes in challenge. It wasn’t something he was used to, and I knew it. “You better not! Or I’ll be mad.”
I immediately dodged to one side for the basket and he was after me. There was simply no way I could shoot over him. I just had to deal. And despite his words, I doubted he was as ruthless as the Chicago street kids I played with at home. They weren’t afraid to knock a girl to the asphalt if that meant they didn’t have to play with her.
I pretended to go in for a lay up and pump faked, spun around him and shot it behind his back. I cheered, bouncing up and down. “Point for Carli! The crowd goes wild!”
He caught the ball before it hit the ground, eying me.
I kept my smile but the sudden quiet in his gaze told me maybe I messed up. Defense was always tougher than offense and no way could I dare try to surprise or spook him. So I crowded him, like I wanted to provoke a foul, reaching in, getting under his profile. One wrong move and he could easily knock me over. But one on one there was only a matter of time before he pulled a successful fake out.
I found myself wishing he was more aggressive, because I caught up to him before he could shoot and snatched out of his grip half way up. Sprinting to the other end I turned, dodged to one side to avoid a reach and fire off jump shot.
I ran to go get it. “I thought you weren’t going to go easy on me! Come on!” I threw the ball back at him, with force this time, scowling. It audibly collided with his hand.
Where I came from, swagger all part of society. If you didn’t promote yourself, no one else was going to do it. If you pretended you were king of the world, you might just wake up and find yourself on top, because it didn’t matter if your opponent was older or bigger or more experienced. You learned where you stood by provoking them! “Is this really all you got?”
Johann no longer fell for fake outs so easily and he watched me a lot more closely.  He stole the ball pretty much immediately after I made a move. I couldn’t turn my back on him. He would just reach around. I could only try to stay away from him and ran both of us ragged, shoes squeaking on the asphalt.
Before I realized it, it was half past midnight and we were over curfew, tied 3 to 3 and exhausted. “Next point is going to have to have to be the last one.” He says, wiping his face with his shirt.
“Yeah, sure it is. It’s your ball.” I tossed it to him, dismissive, even though my muscles were shaking and would be incredibly sore later.
“Unless you want to leave it here, play again? Fine with me.” He shrugged, not looking at me.
“You quitter.” I huffed. “Alright. It’s a deal. Three to three next two baskets is the official winner.”
He gave a thoughtful pause. “Mingfei and I sometimes play against Caesar and Nono. I’d rather have you and my team. He tends to... Lose games for us.”
My eyes went wide. “Oh you bet! If we go against Caesar, we ain’t gonna lose! I guarantee you that.” I would love nothing more!”

A wand for good times and bad, this is a friend as loyal as the wizard who deserves it. Wands of English oak demand partners of strength, courage and fidelity. Less well-known is the propensity for owners of English oak wands to have powerful intuition, and, often, an affinity with the magic of the natural world, with the creatures and plants that are necessary to wizardkind for both magic and pleasure. The oak tree is called King of the Forest from the winter solstice up until the summer solstice, and its wood should only be collected during that time (holly becomes King as the days begin to shorten again, and so holly should only be gathered as the year wanes. This divide is believed to be the origin of the old superstition, ‘When his wand’s oak and hers is holly, then to marry would be folly,’ a superstition that I have found baseless). It is said that Merlin’s wand was of English oak (though his grave has never been found, so this cannot be proven).

RELATIONSHIPS
Misc Siblings:
Robyn Ann O’Toole
Tumblr media
Robyn was born to Mary and Jonathan O’Toole on Christmas Day and is Maran’s only other living sibling besides Michael, half or otherwise. Her mother died in childbirth and Jonathan did not believe Robyn was his because she had blond hair (never mind the fact Maran and her own mother have blond hair) . Her often abused and mistreated Robyn, which nearly rendered her a Squib. This worsened the abuse. After escaping, it turned out she was not, in fact, a squib and was sorted into Gryffindor at 11 years old.
She is constantly afraid Maran will be taken away and hung and is a gentle, slightly nervous little girl. Brave in spite of it all and more daring than other little girls her age.
David John  O’Malley:
Tumblr media
Maran’s older brother, he died of Cholera on the Oregon Trail. He was only 15 at the time and was very close to Maran. He wanted to be a Potioneer.
Michael Devin O’Malley:
Tumblr media
Maran’s brother, younger than her by a year and born on June 1st. Michael is very fond of Robyn and Maran but is a little afraid of the latter. He is kind and gentle and was no match for his often brutal stepfather. Not at all sad the man died. Sorted into Hufflepuff and was in Pukwudgie before the escape.
The Littles: A collective term for the three babies that died before and after Robyn. Aideen (aged 3 years, died of the Cholera with David), Joshua (one week, SIDS), and John ( contracted Scarlet Fever on the homestead, age two)
Father (s):
Sean O’Malley
Tumblr media
He was a good man from a moderately wealthy pureblood family that loved his children dearly and was especially close with David and Maran. Died from Typhus. Irene is his sister. Former Hufflepuff.
Peter ‘Pete’ O’Toole
Tumblr media
A pureblood wizard with Purist beliefs, extreme even by the standards of the day, and the black sheep of the family. He was disowned by his family as he was suspected in the death of his muggleborn sister in law Ellen and was generally an asshole. He met the recently widowed Mary, married her, then took her and her children and their late father’s house elf Ichabod  across the ocean to America to make his own fortune on the Oregon Trail. While using most of hers.
Mother: Mary O’Malley/O’Toole (Maiden name: McCarthy)
Tumblr media
A kind woman that loved all her children. She was wrecked by her first husbands and Children’s deaths and died not long after having Joshua. Former Hufflepuff.
Love Interest: None Yet
Best Friends: Michael.
Rival: None
Enemy: Maran’s stepfather, who is dead.
Dormmates: (Who’s in your MC’s dorm with them?): TBA
Pets: Her Owl, Minerva. Ichabod Technically but he’s not a pet and is more like a parental figure, especially to Robyn.
Closest Canon Friends: TBA
Closest MC Friends: TBA
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
One day he decided he was going to kill Robyn and tried to strangle her with a Garrote after sending Maran and Michael on an errand. Michael came back early and managed to get Peter off his sister and ran into Ichabod’s quarters.  Because Mary had, wisely, never transferred authority to Peter for Ichabod, the house elf refused to let him in. At this point Maran came home. She often carried a rifle when going to the neighbors and there was an argument, during which Peter revealed what he had tried to do.
Pre Hogwarts:
After a series of tragedies, including the deaths of his stepson and stepdaughter and two sons, Peter made it to Oregon with his family. Peter O’Toole then proceeded to isolate his family from others and was often physically and verbally abusive. He favored Michael (who did not reciprocate) and sent him to Ilvermorny but kept Maran and later Robyn at home. Mostly because he was sexist but  also because Maran...unnerved him. She seemed to know some wandless magic, having learned it from a witch from their wagon train, and was practicing it when he wasn’t in the house. She would occasionally use it to indirectly threaten him and he sensed the events were somehow connected to her.
- Not afraid to stand up for herself or her siblings and often takes on a protective/maternal role with Robyn.
So Maran shot him and made it look like a muggle robbery. When the truth finally came out, they were already in England and living with Aunt Irene.
1st Year: TBA
2nd Year:TBA
3rd Year:TBA
4th Year:TBA
5th Year: TBA
6th Year: TBA
7th Year: TBA
Post Graduation: She became a Potioneer in Honor of her brother David  and had one son, Aiden, with an unknown man. Robyn lived with her until her death from Typhus at 32 and Michael lived next door with his wife Niamah until his death at age 75 and her death at age 98.
Old Age & Death: Maran lived to be 101 years old and died surrounded by her grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Was pardoned for the murder of her stepfather after she died.
PERSONALITY
- Can be absolutely ruthless when she needs to be.
- Doesn’t understand the difference between Light and Dark magic (This distinction didn’t exist out west until the early 1900s) and she often experiments with Dark Magic as a result.
- Genius at potion making and is very intelligent.
- A tad paranoid, she did murder her stepfather. Looks over her shoulder a lot and is distrustful of people at first.
MISC
- Hecate and Sean are partially named after Maran and Michael.
- Maran tries to introduce her English classmates to the newly invented game of Quodpot  and it often ends badly.
- Has a negative view of marriage, which is why she never marries (that anyone can tell).
- Wrote a book about her life as an old woman and it caused a stir in the pureblood community due to the many negative things she says about pureblood culture and purist beliefs in the book.
- Maran loves sketching ad painting.

Lucifer Son of the Morning Star Part 2
Gabriel is italics
Kimimela is Bold
Verses are normal
Lucifer Son of the Morning Star
                                                Who are ya?
PART 2 (Here we go again)
*Spoilers for chapters 16 and onwards, especially after chapter 20. Minor spoilers for the Lamp and Baddies events and the Search For Self Devilgram.*
Ezekiel 28 (King of Tyre)
“1) The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,
2) “Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord God, Because your heart is lifted up And you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, In the heart of the seas’; Yet you are a man and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God-
3) Behold, you are wiser that Daniel; There is no secret that is a match for you.
4) “By your wisdom and understanding You have acquired riches for yourself And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.
5) “By your great wisdom, by your trade You have increased your riches And your heart is lifted up because of your riches-”
Until we know all the events that caused the Celestial War in Obey Me, we cannot say with 100% certainty that Lucifer thought that highly of himself, but considering he is the avatar of pride and the Lamp event  (he was also the Queen of Hearts in the Baddies event), it wouldn’t be reaching to assume he thought of himself as such. Lucifer is very wise and it’s hard to keep a secret from him. He knew MC went up into the attic without seeing them go up there or them saying they did. He also knows that Diavolo is hiding information from him in later chapters.
“6) Therefore thus says the Lord God, ‘Because you have made your heart Like the heart of God,
7) Therefore, behold, I will bring strangers upon you, The most ruthless of the nations. And they will draw their swords Against the beauty of your wisdom And defile your splendor.
8) “They will bring you down to the pit, And you will die the death of those who are slain to the heart of the seas.
9) ‘Will you still say, “I am a god” In the presence of your slayer, Though you are a man and not God, In the hands of those who wound you?
10) ‘You will die the death of the uncircumcised By the hands of strangers, For I have spoken!’ declares the Lord God!’”
The explanation of these verses will be explained in a different essay >;) (secret OwO)
“11) Again the word of the LORD came to me saying,
12) “Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.”
When Simeon meets Lucifer for the first time since the fall, he mentions how beautiful he was. (Luke mentions his Beauty as well)
“13) You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared.”
In Lucifer’s demon form he is seen to have a black diamond on his forehead, which could be a single stone left behind after the rest were stripped.
The demon brother’s eye colors are also similarly colored to the stones.
Lucifer- The Ruby and Onyx
Mammon- The Lapis lazuli and Topaz
Leviathan- The Jasper and Lapis lazuli
Satan- The Emerald
Asmodeus- The Beryl (beryl is usually clear but can be found red, some of which looking pink in color) and Topaz
Beelzebub and Belphegor- The Topaz (comes in purple, blue and pink)
(It could also be for nail colors which would be: Lucifer- ruby, Mammon- diamond, Leviathan- lapis lazuli, Satan- emerald, Asmodeus- the beryl, Beelzebub- jasper, Belphegor- turquoise)
“14) You were the anointed cherub who covers, And i placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.”
*Note: Cherubim are described as angels with 4 wings except in Revelation 4:8 which describes them having 6 wings like the Seraphim.
Before Lucifer was cast out of the Celestial Realm, he had 6 wings, which were all ripped out by himself. When he became a demon, he grew 4 back. (This is mentioned by Satan in the Search for self Devilgram)
“15) You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you.
16) “By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covered cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire.”
Lucifer was full of anger and hate, and he allowed it to grow and fester to the point of sin, and when he sinned he created Satan. He was thrown out of the Celestial Realm, after ripping his wings off and destroying his angelic form.
“17) Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you.”
Lucifer was cast down into the Devildom, and the first demon to find him was Diavolo, the future king of the Devildom.
“18) By the multitude of your inequities, In the unrighteousness of your trade You profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you, And I have turned you to ashes on the earth In the eyes of all who see you.”
Lucifer was consumed by his pride and wrath and it destroyed him. His wings and possibly his hair have become black/dark gray when he fell, as if he was covered in ash.  (The official opening of the game has Lucifer catching a black feather before it turns white and disintegrates in his hand)
“19) All who know you among peoples Are appalled at you; You have become terrified And you will cease to be forever.”’”
All the demon brothers are frightened of him (even though they do try to hide it) and fear his anger, so even though they do get in trouble with him frequently, they have been shown to hesitate when they know it will upset Lucifer. The MC has opportunities to act frightened or not by Lucifer, but whenever MC shows signs of not being afraid Lucifer is shocked or confused as to why MC isn’t scared.
Verses 20-24 talk about the judgement of Sidon, while verses 25-26 talk about Israel and will possibly be discussed in a future essay.
Summary: somethin about Lucifer being a beautiful baby boy but also deserves to be punched, jk that has nothing to do with this. Fuckin blah blah blah, lucifer this lucifer that, first half is mostly theories and this will have to be revisited at a later date once more info is unlocked. Second half is mostly just straight up info about Luci with a dash of bros and god have you ever thought about how fucking tragic this is??? Like, the fall was his own doing,,,,he was jealous and went “why do i gotta care about the humans huh? Why dont they worship us? I thought we were supposed to be your favorites! I thought I was your favorite!” and then he went and fought a war he never stood a chance against and like fuck man, idk if its cause im tired or emotional or both, and like ik you aint supposed to feel bad for him cause thats how he gets ya but damn. The one person who is most in need of a hug, or forgiveness, or whatever will never get it because he made a mistake. Can you imagine? Cause like, yeah sin and hell and blah blah blah, but he can never seek forgiveness, never get a second chance, hes doomed to his fate and thats just, so sad. Oh god dammit this is why i fucking picked Lucifer, its cause hes a damned tragedy, fml >:(.
Stupid game i swear  (You good fam?)
Summary: Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 talk about the fall and destruction of Lucifer and Jesus Christ did the creators of Obey Me go ham wild with the research for their game. There seems to be a lot of connections between these two stories and the information received in Obey Me thus far. There is plenty of information that will need to be revisited further down the line once more content is released (or if me or Kimimela find some in Devilgrams and side stories). But until further notice, this is Lucifer and he brings with him foreshadowing.

Eazy-E
Tumblr media
Eric Lynn Wright (September 7, 1964 – March 26, 1995), known professionally as Eazy-E, was an American rapper and rap mogul who propelled West Coast rap and gangsta rap by leading the group N.W.A and its label, Ruthless Records, pushing the boundaries of lyrical content.
Born and raised in Compton, a small yet violent city near Los Angeles, Wright had several legal troubles before founding Ruthless in 1987. After a short solo career with frequent collaboration with Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, they joined, forming N.W.A, later that year.
N.W.A's debut studio album, Straight Outta Compton, released in 1988, highly controversial then, is now ranked among the greatest and most influential albums. The group released its third and final studio album, Niggaz4Life, in 1991, and soon disbanded.
During N.W.A's splintering, largely by disputes over money, Eazy-E became embroiled in bitter rivalries with Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, who had departed for solo careers in 1989 and 1991, respectively. Resuming his sole career, Eazy-E released two EPs.
Yet Wright remained more significant behind the scenes, signing and nationally debuting the rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony from 1993 to 1994. But in 1995, suddenly hospitalized and diagnosed with AIDS, Wright died through its complications.
Early life and Ruthless Records investment
Eric Wright was born to Richard and Kathie Wright on September 7, 1964, in Compton, California, a Los Angeles suburb noted for high crime rates and gang culture. His father was a postal worker and his mother was a grade-school administrator. Wright dropped out of high school in the tenth grade, but later received a general equivalency diploma (GED).
Wright supported himself mainly by selling drugs, and introduced his cousin to the illicit occupation. Wright's music manager Jerry Heller recalls seeing Wright selling marijuana, but not cocaine. Heller would claim that Wright's "dope dealer" label was part of his "self-forged armor". Wright was also labeled as a "thug". Heller explains: "The hood where he grew up was a dangerous place. He was a small guy. 'Thug' was a role that was widely understood on the street; it gave you a certain level of protection in the sense that people hesitated to fuck with you. Likewise, 'dope dealer' was a role that accorded you certain privileges and respect."
In 1986, at age 22, Wright had allegedly earned as much as US$250,000 from dealing drugs. However, after his cousin was shot and killed, he decided that he could make a better living in the Los Angeles hip hop scene, which was growing rapidly in popularity. He started recording songs during the mid-1980s in his parents' garage.
The original idea for Ruthless Records came when Wright asked Heller to go into business with him. Wright suggested a half-ownership company, but it was later decided that Wright would get eighty percent of the company's income and Heller would only get twenty percent. According to Heller, he told Wright, "Every dollar comes into Ruthless, I take twenty cents. That's industry standard for a manager of my caliber. I take twenty, you take eighty percent. I am responsible for my expenses and you're responsible for yours. You own the company. I work for you." Along with Heller, Wright invested much of his money into Ruthless Records. Heller claims that he invested the first $250,000 and would eventually put up to $1,000,000 into the company.
Musical career
N.W.A and Eazy-Duz-It (1986–1991)
N.W.A's original lineup consisted of Arabian Prince, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Ice Cube. DJ Yella and MC Ren joined later. The compilation album N.W.A. and the Posse was released on November 6, 1987, and would go on to be certified Gold in the United States. The album featured material previously released as singles on the Macola Records label, which was responsible for distributing the releases by N.W.A and other artists like the Fila Fresh Crew, a West Coast rap group originally based in Dallas, Texas.
Eazy-E's debut album, Eazy-Duz-It, was released on September 16, 1988, and featured twelve tracks. It was labeled as West Coast hip hop, gangsta rap and, later, as golden age hip hop. It has sold over 2.5 million copies in the United States and reached number forty-one on the Billboard 200. The album was produced by Dr. Dre and DJ Yella and largely written by MC Ren, Ice Cube and The D.O.C.. Both Glen Boyd from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and MTV's Jon Wiederhorn claimed that Eazy-Duz-It "paved the way" for N.W.A's most controversial album, Straight Outta Compton. Wright's only solo in the album was a remix of the song "8 Ball", which originally appeared on N.W.A. and the Posse. The album featured Wright's writing and performing; he performed on seven songs and helped write four songs.
Ice Cube left N.W.A in 1989 because of internal disputes and the group continued as a four-piece ensemble. N.W.A released 100 Miles and Runnin' in 1990 and Niggaz4Life in 1991. A diss war started between N.W.A and Ice Cube when "100 Miles and Runnin'" and "Real Niggaz" were released. Ice Cube responded with "No Vaseline" on Death Certificate. Wright performed on seven of the eighteen songs on Niggaz4Life. In March 1991 Wright accepted an invitation to a lunch benefiting the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle, hosted by then-U.S. President George H. W. Bush. A spokesman for the rapper said that Eazy-E supported Bush because of his performance in the Persian Gulf War.
End of N.W.A and feud with Dr. Dre (1991–1994)
N.W.A began to split up after Jerry Heller became the band's manager. Dr. Dre recalls: "The split came when Jerry Heller got involved. He played the divide and conquer game. Instead of taking care of everybody, he picked one nigga to take care of and that was Eazy. And Eazy was like, 'I'm taken care of, so fuck it'." Dr. Dre and The D.O.C. sent Suge Knight to look into Eazy-E's financial situation as they began to grow suspicious of Eazy-E and Jerry Heller. Dr. Dre and The D.O.C. asked Eazy-E to release him from Ruthless, but Eazy-E refused. The impasse led to what reportedly transpired between Suge Knight and Eazy-E at the recording studio where Niggaz4life was recorded. After he refused to release Dr. Dre and The D.O.C., Suge Knight told Eazy-E that he had kidnapped Jerry Heller and was holding him prisoner in a van. This did not convince Eazy-E to release Dr. Dre and The D.O.C. from Ruthless, and Suge Knight threatened Eazy-E's family: Suge Knight gave Eazy-E a piece of paper that contained Eazy's mother's address, telling him, "I know where your mama stays." Eazy-E finally signed Dr. Dre and The D.O.C.'s releases, officially ending N.W.A.
The feud with Dr. Dre continued after a track on Dre's debut album The Chronic, "Fuck wit Dre Day (And Everybody's Celebratin')", contained lyrics that insulted Eazy-E. Eazy responded with the EP, It's On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa, featuring the tracks "Real Muthaphuckkin G's" and "It's On". The album, which was released on October 25, 1993, contains pictures of Dre wearing "lacy outfits and makeup" when he was a member of the Electro-hop World Class Wreckin' Cru.
Personal life
Wright had a son, Eric Darnell Wright (known as Lil Eazy-E), in 1984. He also had a daughter named Erin who has legally changed her name to Ebie In October 2016 she launched a crowd-funding campaign to produce a film called Ruthless Scandal: No More Lies to investigate her father's death. It ended unsuccessfully in December 2016.
Wright met Tomica Woods at a Los Angeles nightclub in 1991 and they married in 1995, twelve days before his death. They had a son named Dominick and a daughter named Daijah (born six months after Wright's death). After Wright's death, Ruthless was taken over by his wife. According to Jerry Heller, Wright had 11 children with eight different women.
Illness and death
On February 24, 1995, Wright was admitted to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with a violent cough. He was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. He announced his illness in a public statement on March 16, 1995. It is believed Wright contracted the infection from a sexual partner.During the week of March 20, having already made amends with Ice Cube, he drafted a final message to his fans. On March 26, 1995, Eazy-E died from complications of AIDS, one month after his diagnosis. He was 30 years old (most reports at the time said he was 31 due to the falsification of his date of birth by one year). He was buried on April 7, 1995, at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California. Over 3,000 people attended his funeral, including Jerry Heller and DJ Yella. He was buried in a gold casket, and was dressed in a flannel shirt, jeans, and his Compton hat. On January 30, 1996, ten months after Eazy-E's death, his final album, Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton was released.
According to his son Lil Eazy-E, Eazy-E was worth an estimated USD$50 million at the time of his death.
Musical influences and style
Allmusic cites Eazy-E's influences as Ice-T, Redd Foxx, King Tee, Bootsy Collins, Run–D.M.C., Richard Pryor, Egyptian Lover, Schoolly D, Too $hort, Prince, the Sugarhill Gang and George Clinton. In the documentary The Life and Timez of Eric Wright, Eazy-E mentions collaborating with many of his influences.
When reviewing Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton, Stephen Thomas Erlewine noted "... Eazy-E sounds revitalized, but the music simply isn't imaginative. Instead of pushing forward and creating a distinctive style, it treads over familiar gangsta territory, complete with bottomless bass, whining synthesizers, and meaningless boasts." When reviewing Eazy-Duz-It, Jason Birchmeier of Allmusic said, "In terms of production, Dr. Dre and Yella meld together P-Funk, Def Jam-style hip-hop and the leftover electro sounds of mid-'80s Los Angeles, creating a dense, funky, and thoroughly unique style of their own." Birchmeier described Eazy-E's style as "dense, unique and funky", and said that it sounded "absolutely revolutionary in 1988".
Several members of N.W.A wrote lyrics for Eazy-Duz-It: Ice Cube, The D.O.C. and MC Ren. The EP 5150: Home 4 tha Sick features a song written by Naughty By Nature. The track "Merry Muthaphuckkin' Xmas" features Menajahtwa, Buckwheat, and Atban Klann as guest vocalists, and "Neighborhood Sniper" features Kokane as a guest vocalist. It's On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa features several guest vocalists, including Gangsta Dresta, B.G. Knocc Out. Kokane, Cold 187um, Rhythum D, and Dirty Red. Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton featured several guest vocalists, including B.G. Knocc Out, Gangsta Dresta, Sylk-E. Fyne, Dirty Red, Menajahtwa, Roger Troutman and ex-N.W.A members MC Ren and DJ Yella.
Legacy
Eazy-E has been called the godfather of gangsta rap. MTV's Reid Shaheem said that Eazy was a "rap-pioneer", and he is sometimes cited by critics as a legend. Steve Huey of AllMusic said that he was "one of the most controversial figures in gangsta rap". Since his 1995 death, many book and video biographies have been produced, including 2002's The Day Eazy-E Died and Dead and Gone.
When Eazy was diagnosed with AIDS, many magazines like Jet, Vibe, Billboard, The Crisis, and Newsweek covered the story and released information on the topic. All of his studio albums and EPs charted on the Billboard 200, and many of his singles—"Eazy-Duz-It", "We Want Eazy", "Real Muthaphuckkin G's, and "Just tah Let U Know"—also charted in the U.S.
In 2012 an Eazy-E documentary was released by Ruthless Propaganda, called Ruthless Memories. The documentary featured interviews from Jerry Heller, MC Ren and B.G. Knocc Out.
In the 2015 film Straight Outta Compton, Eazy-E is played by Jason Mitchell and the film is dedicated in his memory.

Do you have any HCs about Liam’s mother? What do you think she was like?
Ooh this would be fun!
For a very long time I hesitated making any firm HCs about Liam’s mother because I was obviously expecting to learn more about her. But I do have a few HCs that are largely from the things we’d been told in the books.
For the purposes of this HC I’m naming Liam’s mother Rose and Leo’s mother Agnes.
1. My Liam is the Asian one (and my faceclaim is Korean-American), so I HC’d Rose as coming from Korea.
2. It’s established that she was both a commoner and a foreigner, so I would see her experience as having at least a few very basic similarities with the MC. Not exactly similar, but the parallel is clearly there if the MC is marrying Liam.
3. I used to assume that Constantine choose all three of his brides during social seasons, but Book 3 proved that wasn’t the case. So I could maybe see Constantine meeting Rose while she was travelling to/visiting Cordonia.
4. I HC that while it was love at first sight, Constantine especially had his reservations because he’d been abandoned by his first wife. He tried very hard to ignore the way he felt for her. This puzzled and distressed Rose for a while, but they grew closer despite Constantine’s reservations.
5. It probably took them some incredible effort to ensure she was accepted once they DID decide to make it official.
6. The first few years were hard. Even after they were married and Rose was officially accepted into court she knew she had to double down, work harder, be better and she couldn’t afford missteps in between. For one she was “different”, and for another the shadow of what Leo’s mother Agnes had done would always follow her. People were always doubting her ability to handle court. Liam would grow up understanding this and trying instinctively to make himself more aware, more competent, more everything because he was aware all eyes were on him as well, in a way that they wouldn’t entirely be on Leo.
7. Leo was a little wary of her initially, but he was also quite young and needed a mother figure who would be there for him (in a way Agnes couldn’t in her final months/year in the palace) and it took a year for Rose and Leo to fully bond. In fact, one of the reasons he couldn’t bond with Regina was because he’d already lost two mother figures by his teens and he couldn’t bear having to build a relationship like that again (and also, let’s be honest, Regina and Leo don’t exactly like each other either).
8. Rose was quite artistic: in canon it is said the renovation of the gardens were a part of her own vision, that she used to play the guitar at family picnics. She was also a voracious reader and often took her son to the public library when they were in Applewood. She viewed literature and art both as personal escapes from court life for herself, and as essential for cultural enhancement. Constantine’s and Rose’s views on what would be good for the kingdom were as similar as chalk and cheese. I would imagine that had Constantine not been distant with Hakim, they would have definitely got along with Rose because her vision for Cordonia was very similar to theirs.
9. I HC’d that she also liked theatre. At least a few times a year she would take her sons along to watch a play. In the final years of her life, Liam noticed that watching Macbeth would leave her completely in tears.
10. She didn’t exactly know she was going to die, but the last years of her life were spent in fear. She did have an inkling that it would happen, and it made her final years very unhappy, very frightful ones.
11. Before the truth of the Nevrakis family had come out in the books, I’d HC’d that they sponsored Rose, and were quite supportive and protective of her. Obviously that doesn’t apply anymore.
12. I’d say that Constantine was probably ruthless as a King before, but it took on some new extremes when Rose died.
13. The night before she died, Rose read to Liam the story of the Forgotten Falls lovers (well, a kid friendly bedtime story version).
14. Liam would always draw a blank about the days following Rose’s death. How she looked, what his family said, what he did, nothing. To this day if you’d asked him he wouldn’t be able to tell you.
15. Liam still dreams about her some days. He hadn’t known her for very long, but they were extremely close, and in some ways she still lives on as his conscience.
