DISNEY STUDIO AU: The Three Caballeros

My take on human version of Disney's Three Caballeros for my AU.

The Three Caballeros is a Latin pop idol group, widely popular in North, Central and South America. The members consists with Panchito (the lead vocalist), Jose (sub-vocalist and dancer), and Donald (sub-vocalist and rapper). Panchito Pistoles is of Mexican descent, José Carioca is Brazilian, and Donald represents United States.

The band was found during Donald's late teen years in university he attended and had taken trip with his two friends Panchito and José to both Central and South America, forming a group "Three Caballeros" with their debut song "Cruzando el Río del Tiempo" their iconic and first Latin-pop song that has caught the attention of recording company, beginning their first step to singing career. So far, they were preparing for Europe Tour.

However, the tour was canceled when Donald's vocal chord was severely injured, causing him to unable to sing. Donald left the band to serve military service in Marine Corps for four years while Panchito and José proceed to have a singing career as duo or as singles. As Donald has been the one to came up with Latin-pop and other genres to identify their group, they struggled to keep up the "Three Caballeros" as Panchito become a Mariachi-Mexican pop singer and José became a Samba/pop singer. At some point, they were able to contact Donald and found him raising triplet nephews on his own while his sister Della left for her social working adventures around the world. Donald also made new career in acting, comedy, variety shows with Mickey and Donald. However, seeing how Donald wish to be back on stage to sing, Daisy had Panchito and José finding ways to raise money for his vocal chord recovery. 

After the vocal chord recovery and careful healing, Donald finally returned to singing career back in "Three Caballeros" with his two friends by their new album "Comeback Caballeros" under safer recording company within Disney Studio.

Do ‘Rock ‘n Roll Radio’ ao Streaming: Uma Viagem pela Evolução do Consumo de Música

Nestes tempos digitais em que a música está a um toque, me bateu uma reflexão sobre o momento magnífico em que nos encontramos. Para aqueles apaixonados por garimpar clássicos, descobrir lançamentos e novidades do rock, estamos vivendo uma era mágica. Dispomos de diversas plataformas de streaming de áudio e vídeo que nos proporcionam satisfação irrestrita e ilimitada no acesso a álbuns, shows, informação e tudo mais que precisamos para saciar nossa avidez por consumir o melhor som, em qualquer estilo: Clássico, Hard, Metal, Indie, Glam, Punk, Grunge, Progressivo, Pop e tantos outros, de inúmeras bandas e artistas do universo do bom e velho rock ‘n roll.

Contudo, nem sempre foi assim. O caminho percorrido pelos exploradores de música, desde o analógico até o digital, das ondas de rádio ao streaming, envolveu diversos rituais, comportamentos, equipamentos e tecnologias diferentes e compõem uma linha do tempo, muito curiosa de se observar.

Desde muito moleque, sempre fui aficionado por música. Inicialmente, pelos sambas que tocavam nas rádios do Rio de Janeiro e na imensa vitrola de madeira do meu avô Pedro, as canções populares que ecoavam nas AM e FM, além daqueles artistas ainda mais populares, que se apresentavam em playbacks nos programas do Chacrinha ou do Bolinha. Não sei dizer exatamente quando o rock me abduziu, mas sei que foi pelas beiradas: A lembrança mais antiga vem dos solos do Pepeu Gomes na música ‘Eu Também Quero Beijar’, depois o impacto do álbum Thriller do Michael Jackson. Mas foi a partir do rock nacional dos anos 80, do Ultraje a Rigor e da Plebe Rude, que as portas para o fantástico mundo do Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Ramones, The Doors, The Smiths, The Cult e uma lista infindável de singles, álbuns e outras gravações que jamais imaginei alcançar, foram abertas. Uma verdadeira experiência sensorial e cultural invadiu minha vida e, de lá pra cá, contribuiu para a construção do indivíduo que me tornei.

Fitas cassete e as primeiras playlists

A minha jornada para um consumo mais consciente da música começou com o rock nacional. Considero-me privilegiado por, naquela época, poder sintonizar a saudosa “Maldita”, a Fluminense FM, na frequência 94.9 MHz, assim que chegava do colégio e durante os fins de semana inteiros. Vejo isso como o marco zero desta linha do tempo. Gravar fitas cassete de discos emprestados pelos amigos e de programas especiais da rádio era a maneira que eu tinha para expandir meu catálogo. Adorava criar trilhas sonoras em fitas cassete, decorava os encartes com meus próprios desenhos e até presenteava os amigos com elas. Era o que chamamos hoje de ‘playlists’, mas, por agora, não vamos misturar as bolas e vamos manter a sequência.

Ainda na era do cassete, surgiu a onda das locadoras de CDs, que se tornaram um verdadeiro paraíso para alguém como eu, com muita sede de música, mas pouca grana para comprar tudo o que gostaria. Gravar minhas faixas favoritas em fitas Basf, Sony ou TDK se mostrou uma excelente alternativa.

Em meados dos anos 90, o rock estava no mainstream, com o Guns N’ Roses dominando e o grunge de bandas como Nirvana e Soundgarden influenciando uma geração inteira. No entanto, foi nessa época que deixei o Rio para viver na maravilhosa cidade de João Pessoa. Apesar das suas belíssimas paisagens, do povo hospitaleiro, da paz, da segurança e de tudo o mais, não havia nada parecido com a Fluminense para sintonizar o dial. Que solução encontrei? Criei meu próprio programa de rádio! E por que não?

Com o programa ‘Na Trilha! Rock’, transmitido pela Transamérica FM e financiado com a ajuda de corajosos anunciantes, tive a oportunidade de receber CDs tanto de gravadoras quanto de lojas de discos locais. Para aqueles álbuns que eu não podia levar para casa, a maneira de ter acesso às novidades era pedir consultoria ao vendedor ou ao proprietário da loja, utilizar o fone sempre disponível e dedicar um bom tempo em pé, curtindo os lançamentos para me manter atualizado.

Navegando nas Ondas do Rock: A Chegada das Rádios Web

Poucos meses após ser lançado, o programa ‘Na Trilha’ foi pro saco por questões comerciais, e a minha festa dos CDs grátis se foi junto com ele. Contudo, a internet já era uma realidade na vida das pessoas, e com ela vieram as rádios WEB. Assim, comecei a acompanhar a programação das rádios rock do Brasil e ao redor do mundo para ter acesso a novidades.

O Impacto do MP3

Mas a grande virada foi, sem dúvida, o MP3. Esse padrão de compressão de arquivos de áudio permitiu que eu tivesse todos os álbuns de referência da minha vida. Criei pastas com o nome de cada banda e de cada artista, na intenção de, enfim, realizar o sonho de ter à minha disposição, pelo resto da minha vida, todas as coletâneas possíveis. O problema é que, para alcançar este objetivo, os caminhos eram obscuros. Tive que recorrer a canais como The Pirate Bay e uTorrent. Algo que, presumivelmente, não deveria agradar muito aos meus ídolos.

O Desbravamento da Música na Era do Streaming

Enfim, chegamos aos dias atuais e, nem preciso dizer, os megabytes de MP3 que outrora julguei que seriam enterrados comigo foram apagados pela revolução do streaming. Se eu já me deleitava com os meus HDs abarrotados por horas e horas de demorados downloads de música, hoje as possibilidades são infinitas: novas bandas, novos álbuns e os clássicos, todos em alta qualidade, podem ser instantaneamente acionados com um clique no Spotify, Deezer ou similares. Shows com performances ao vivo de fases diversas dos meus grupos favoritos estão disponíveis no YouTube, que também me dá acesso a entrevistas atuais e antigas desses artistas que tanto admiro. Sem esquecer dos documentários e filmes sobre as biografias e os bastidores dos grandes ícones que estão ao nosso alcance nos catálogos da Netflix, HBO, Prime Video, entre tantas outras plataformas.

Finalmente, aquele então adolescente, caçador de música, depois de vencer uma longa caminhada, vive a melhor época de todos os tempos para consumir o melhor som por meio da tecnologia de streaming. Porém, ainda tem muita estrada pela frente, vamos seguir e ver o que o futuro nos reserva. Hey Ho! Let’s Go.

Felt like they were inspired by Green Parsons FD from last year to do something in that vein, but less modern dance. I saw her compete in Lake Placid 2019 with her former partner and liked that she had a quirky vibe that didn't feel like anyone else. Last year felt like major growing pains for a new partnership, so it was good to see them do well here. He had a twizzle error in the FD, and I think there was one in the RD as well. She scored them a good point lower than any other judge in every category. How does this work, does Charlie or one of the people there from USFS go raise a stink? Because Judge #4's scores were more in line with the rest of the panel for the FD. Side note that Charlie seems so happy- he was laughing at the boards a lot and was upbeat every time I saw him

‘Carnival is politics’: revellers bring anti-Bolsonaro sentiment to Rio’s streets

With elections less than six months away, many see festival as a chance to vent their anger at far-right president

As the sun rose over Rio’s breathtaking granite and quartz landscape, José Leonardo da Silva set off from home dressed as a 6ft 2in box of Viagra.

His destination: a beach-sidestreet party called the Cosmic Trumpets where hundreds of half-clothed revellers had gathered to celebrate their first carnival since Covid. His message: that the scandal involving the purchase of tens of thousands of erectile dysfunction tablets by President Jair Bolsonaro’s defense ministry was an intolerable affront.

“Carnival is politics too,” said Silva, a 43-year-old psychologist for Brazil’s health service, as he prepared to spend the day denouncing Bolsonaro’s “completely fascist” government by disguising himself as a packet of 50mg impotence pills.

Silva was not the only one with politics on his mind this week as bacchanalia gripped Rio’s streets for the first time since February 2020.

With a bruising electoral battle for Brazil’s soul less than six months away, many saw carnival as a chance to vent their spleen at Brazil’s far-right president, who retains a ferociously loyal support base but is repudiated by more than half of voters.

Loud cries of “Bolsonaro out!” erupted at Rio’s Sambadrome on Friday night as the city’s top samba schools held their first processions since the coronavirus pandemic began. The president’s son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, was stalked and taunted by angry revellers while trying to watch the parades while a banner demanding his father’s removal was unfurled from one of the stands.
