RemRitsu Shining Nikki AU in which Ritsuka discovers the Ocean of Memories, and with it, Rem's reflections. And with them, his past

Some of Rem's reflections are from when he was a kid, she watches until she feels she's intruding. And others are the recent past, the times his father calls on him, preparations for the school festival, the night after Roen's attack

Somewhere down the line, he starts noticing her. It's in the quiet moments, the long nights he's stuck researching the grimoire, when he thinks about her at the end of the day, the evenings where he plays shogi by himself

She's not of this world, she's not the Ritsuka he knows, the Ritsuka he will hurt the next day. She's from the future, she's the Ritsuka that already went through it all and lived

And while it can't change the past, he invites her to sit down and play with him. She has no bearing on the real world

He tells her things, about himself, about his feelings towards her. Things she saw but didn't understand. She listens until the sun rises, and Rem doesn't feel tired the next day. Nothing changes, she was a mere interference in a memory, a dream within a dream. The real Ritsuka won't know anything the next day

When she enters the next reflection, Rem welcomes her back

She won't know anything until many, many years later. But by that time, the Rem whose memories she saw won't be the same Rem that is with her now

Two different versions of the same people, at two different points in time. They will never really meet, not at the same time

Will Ritsuka tell Rem that she's been spending time with the past version of him? Will Rem tell Ritsuka that a future version of her has been plaguing his memories since he was a child?

Will Rem tell her that he has two, even three versions of the same memory, only one of them not invaded by her? Even that one is slowly being replaced by the version she witnessed

The times he went treasure hunting with Urie, he was alone, he knows it. But when he thinks back on it now, he can see Ritsuka's figure standing in the distance. He never turned to Urie to check if that figure was real, he didn't have to. Young Rem knew that nobody was there watching them. But now, when he thinks back on those events, he wonders is she really had been there all along, from the very beginning, watching him

The times he was training until he was exhausted, the long hours that all blurred together into one giant mass, they all gained new clarity. When he looks back, he knows she saw him training on Monday, Friday, Sunday and the following Tuesday

One time, he invited her to be his dance partner. Ritsuka wasn't even born at the time, but Rem has the memory of dancing with her before they even met

It happens later too. He gets her a gift for their anniversary. Ten years later, when he recalls it, Ritsuka is there, watching him. He picks something cute for her and she laughs, because she's happy, because she still cherishes this gift years later. She's happy to see him in that moment, a moment she didn't get to see when it first happened. Rem turns to her, by now used to her dream-like presence and asks her "Do you like it?" The same thing he will ask when he gives it to her

Rem doesn't know how far in the future this Ritsuka is. He doesn't know if the Ritsuka that saw him researching the grimoire was 17 or 45. He can't visualize the way she's dressed, if there are any wrinkles or traces of makeup on her face. But he knows she's Ritsuka. Always Ritsuka.

Rem can't remember a time when Ritsuka wasn't in his life

1. How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?

I think maybe around 14.  I was really into Hetalia back then, and had a bunch of one-shots that were never finished or posted.  I did get one up though.

7. When is your preferred time to write?

Anytime, really.  I do get a lot done at night though.

8. Where do you take your inspiration from?

Inspiration can hit me at the strangest times.  Like, I hear a song, or a line from a movie or a musical, or just see something, and I think, "I need to work with this." For example, I was walking home from school one day, and it started snowing.  The snowflakes glittering in the sunlight was so beautiful, and I bet you can guess what came out of that!

46. I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?

I got your message that you wanted 46 instead of 36!

Whirling Flakes.  Hmm, let's see.  Maybe Rem comes back every night to keep watching her dance, though she warns him that he better just be watching.  Over time, Ritsuka becomes comfortable with his presence, and one night she asks Rem to dance with her.  He says yes, and maybe afterwards they kiss?  Something cute like that.  Wow, I'm almost tempted to write this!

Eurovision 2018 notes (from the POV of a Singaporean fan)

Note: Long post and also added while listening to all of it on Spotify. 

Denmark is lit AF and I want this to win.

Norway is so damn cute. And really sounds like a Toshiyuki Toyonaga song. And now I want a Rybak-Toyonaga collaboration so that everyone dies of cute. 

Finland is also lit - then and again it’s the multi-talented Saara Aalto. Who can sing in every European language as well as Singapore’s 3 other local official languages with no pronunciation trouble.

Estonia is another #VocalGoals. (the vocalist I want to be most is Floor Jansen, of course.)

I love Georgia and Montenegro... when they send Power Ballads in their native languages. Please continue this. Well, I think the only time when I love a Montenegrin entry is when they send a Power Ballad in their local language. 

Normally I have Iceland bias, but there’s something about their song this year that makes me think that there’s something missing...

Spain reminds me of Vikturi. Look at the lyrics. Also Lithuania. Now that I think of it, maybe those two songs are also RemRitsu...

Thank you Hungary for sending another metal song to Eurovision. And in Hungarian to boot.

Moldova is going to be stuck in my ear again. 

Has anyone made a multilanguage version of Italy’s entry? Please make a multi-lingual version, since you put lyrics in so many languages including my own.

France is also really snazzy. Speaking of the political subtext, I recently heard that the girl France’s entry is based on has been found. I kinda hope that she does listen to their song. 

I really love Serbia’s entry too - part ballad, part dance, but still great. The fact that their Serbian sounds beautiful sung helps too.

Adding Armenia to my ‘Sounds Best in Local Language’ list. Their English songs are good too - it’s just that this is better than most.

I think I am one of very few people who really doesn’t like Israel’s entry. The message is there, but musically-wise it sounds more like warm-up vocals.

Czech Republic’s entry is very... Eros. Probably the dirtiest Eurovision song ever. Not sure why I like it though. Probably Viktor when Yuri clung onto him and went, “Be my coach, Viktoruuuuuuu!!!!!!”

Germany, I know you guys can do better than this.... :(

Sorry, Belarus. To me, your song last year was better than this year, though it isn’t so bad upon re-listening.

Dutch Country will always be the better Country.

Is it me or is Austria’s entry this year similar to Australia’s entry last year?

I didn’t really enjoy FYROM Macedonia, Latvia, Ireland,’s entry at first, but I guess they’re growing on me. Though Ireland probably won’t qualify again.

Someone should skate to Poland and Ukraine’s entries. 

This year further proves why Albanian Rock in Albanian is the best for Albania. So glad that Eugent Bushpepa is keeping it in Albanian.

I wish they played UK’s entry on local radio. It fits perfectly well in local radio. Also Belgium, Romania and Croatia.

Slovenia is... ok. I guess. But tolerable.

I am starting to warm up to Portugal. This is a good thing.

Russia is alright. Not bad, but can be improved too.

DwD Character Appreciation Week - *BONUS* Day Eight

Tachibana Ritsuka

It took me a while, but I realized from WHERE this set of clothes was based on. And I tried to not make it look more closely to the merch set I based this pic on.

Ritsuka’s wearing a similar attire to the one she used during the School Festival in the anime. You know, the one where her group were doing a caf��, and when Lindo did the most ridiculous thing he could DO as a way of keeping an eye on her.

So, anyway. There’s this set of (Union Creative) merch visuals that I really don’t remember was announced through the oficial PR account for the franchise, but I saw them on AmiAmi in earlier 2017 (probably before Fortuna was announced to be in production). By October, I went to snatch a box from the can badges (as they didn’t sell out) as they were kidda cheaper than they were when the pre-orders opened. So, yeah (they are supposed to be here, but my post service’s hijinks are TOTALLY a thing).

I admire Ritsuka. 

I’ll defend her and her actions from heaven to hell, and back. She was motivated to find her kidnapped mother, what she knew about her own life was a lie (from her being the Forbidden Grimoire; to her disappeared dad being a demon from another realm; to her “older brother” being not only her cousin but also having a severe siscon, etc), and all of sudden, being in the middle of devils vs vampires war who wanted to have an almighty power to conquer them all. Not to mention that she fell in love of a devil. And that her best friend died while protecting her. All in a short span of time.

At the end, she is the owner of her own destiny... although she knew they could be together, the reason she stayed in the human world instead of being alongside Rem in his, is because she wanted to stay human, with the rest of her little family. Maybe things weren’t going to be the old same, but she wanted to rebuild them... even if that meant not seeing the one she loved the most in a long time.

Tbh, I don’t know why people think Ritsuka would have given that up to pursue Rem. And Rem absolutely knew that was the fair and possible route that would have happened after all they did in making her suffer. Besides, they knew that their mutual love didn’t know frontiers, as much as sad as it really was meant to be, because the future is quite uncertain. “Long time” is uncertain.

This piece is obviously a continuation from my Mage’s pic, with a more Valentine-ish feel to it. Because, why not~

While I ship MeiRitsu as my OTP, I’m very okay with RemRitsu as such, and I melt away with stuff about them, too. Looking at my old posts about the series as such, there are things that I often smh because most of my feelings have been reinvindicated. SURE, I love MeiRitsu and love this AU idea of how Mage and Ritz may have worked out, but everything is just part of my imagination, partially based from the game and so, and so, (and how I wish Fortuna was different than what it ended up being... curse you, fake incentives >.>) and I wish I have more material of (and from my own hand, as well), but you know... RemRitsu is also beautiful in its own way too.

Rem/Ritsuka/Shiki domestic headcanons

(good-human-ending Shiki, Ritsuka officially dating Rem and Shiki, the boys don't have a name for their relationship yet)

Rem seems like the type to sleep with pajamas on. Maybe a long pants + long sleeved button-up combo

Ritsuka has sleep clothes in canon, but I think she sleeps with whatever. She'll even take one of Rem's day shirts

Shiki canonically sleeps naked, but I think he'd try on Rem's shirts once in a while. He seems to like looser fitting shirts

Lindo gets mad at Shiki for sleeping in Ritsuka's bed? Well one time he finds Shiki in his own bed. Obviously he kicks Shiki out, but Shiki gets a good chuckle out of it

I think Lindo would accept Shiki before Rem due to their rivalry over Ritsuka. When he finally does, Rem is (begrudgingly) welcomed as a guest for lunch with the whole family

Rem helps Maria set the table, while Shiki and Lindo bring the food

Rem eats a little out of politeness, but Maria is the first to catch on that he's still a devil. I think she'd keep the conversation going after everyone starts eating, so he doesn't have to sit in silence

Rem adjusts pretty well to living a more "human" life, but there's still some little moments where it's obvious he's not. Shiki ends up being a comforting presence, by just existing as a human, unintentionally guiding Rem

And even when some things become normal habits to Shiki, he still remembers when he wasn't like that

Human-ending Shiki lives with Ritsuka, but I feel like if Rem is in the picture, he's gonna spend some nights at Rem's place, since he doesn't have his own room at Ritsu's

And sometimes Ritsuka spends the night at Rem's

Rem would be the least likely to spend the night at Ritsuka's, partially because of Lindo, but also because I don't see them having more than 4 rooms (living room, Ritsuka's, Lindo's and Maria's)

Rem and Shiki at Rem's place, in his bedroom doing whatever. Ritsuka walks in, her overnight backpack over her shoulder and says "I'm home" with a sweet smile :")

I feel like Rem is a light sleeper

Shiki tends to wake up if he feels he's left alone in bed, but once he's entered deep sleep, he tends to stay asleep

Ritsuka sleeps like a log until she's had her 6 hours of sleep

Late night, they're all together at Rem's place and Shiki can't sleep. He accidentally wakes Rem up when he gets out of bed

Rem blinks at him, too tired for words, and Shiki just whispers that he's going for a walk

When he comes back, Rem wakes up again, either with the sound of his clothes rustling, or when he gets in bed again. Rem just groans a little and gets more comfortable. Ritsuka doesn't wake up

Rem coming home later, Shiki and Ritsuka already asleep snuggling in his bed

Going back to what I said before: Rem watching them softly while he changes. Maybe one of them wakes up and waves their hand to tell him "Come to bed already". Or maybe no one wakes up. And in the morning they all wake up together

Shiki proves himself a wonderfully annoying alarm. Good thing Rem wakes up before him. Ritsuka is not so lucky... Maybe Rem wakes her up before Shiki can, just to spare her

It's canon that Rem plays shogi before school, right?

Or maybe he finds them in the kitchen/dining room when he's done and it's this sweet "Good morning, Rem" with a soft smile on their faces

Rem up playing shogi, Shiki comes up to him, still groggy, and plops his head on Rem's shoulder from behind. Ritsu comes afterwards with a blanket around her and takes his other shoulder
