Kingdom Hearts (Homestuck) Classpecting Part 2; And Another Thing

Welcome back to another episode of undersleeping and overthinking. In the first episode, we released a brainless torrent of classpects and the foundation of how they were chosen. Kinda. There are definitely some in there had too little to properly classpect and others...IDK man I simply cannot enter the headspace needed to dissect every line of Xaldin/Dillan or Luxord's dialogue for multiple interpretations that could lead to a more comprehensive psyche profile. Sigurd: Knight of Light I don't actually have a lot to say about this guy, I just ran out of tag space in the previous post lmao. Knights have this thing about vulnerability which is usually on visual or thematic display; shrouded faces, long sleeves, sunglasses and whatnot. They also tend to start pretty proficient in wielding their aspect. They are also more than happy to use their aspect to serve another or a greater cause. Seeing how he was introduced in KHUX, it is easy to see that for now, Sigurd is our Lore Guide...and maybe actually Luxord just saying. Master of Masters: Muse of Time Excluding all theories and just using what we know, he's giving void because it's surprisingly so little despite his impact. I think that could also be chalked up by being a Muse class; while this doesn't mean anything because typology wise master classes don't say anything about a person, considering his background and story that is kind of the point. He became Master of Masters - or the muse (master) class - because of events in his life. I think that in itself is just time player shenanigans. Time players have really strong and stonelike keywords that make them feel more tightly bound to their aspect in rigid ways than most. Master of Masters was definitely some other class and maybe aspect before, but gave that up-and maybe even who he is as a person- for his current objective. Hayner: Thief of Void Hey man check out this little dude. He doesn't get as much credit as he should for the ability to 1. Go with the flow when it comes to the insane bullshit Kingdom Hearts sometimes brings but from the perspective of someone 97% uninvolved and 2. Throw down with someone clearly out of his weight class. He is iconic and therefore thief. And no, he isn't void because he is irrelevant; his relationship with information-an aspect of light- does give a push and pull quality to him. But where a thief of light would increasingly pull more and more information until they achieve a relevancy in themselves, a void would literally take the information as it comes to them and work within their limited relevancy. Sterlitzia: Rogue of Rage: Rage gets a lot of bad rep for just being full of negative keywords; strife, struggle, tension, madness, and literally negative emotions and whatnot, but remember aspects are not bound to their most obvious connotations. Pining is a kind of struggle, and what is puppy love if not a certain kind of madness? All jokes aside, rogues feel like the type of class that takes the keywords of their aspect, reduce them to their most beneficial forms, and distributes them with the intentions of gaining a net positive. But I also believe rogues often tend to have a lot of eyes on them much like the thief, but usually with consequences. KHUX Player Character: Bard of Hope Hate to say this but player character's post KHUX story is hitting a bit too far home with Gamzee's. I know MY dear player character would never become a destiny fanatic, so they have me fucked up, but the fact that there is an arc that we don't see that leads player down this stalwart path hints to this being some sort of bard awakening. But whereas Gamzee what disillusioned by the idea of destiny and prophecy, player character literally gained a new life in it.
Ephemer: Witch of Breath Witches are a class that likes to operate outside the grid and think outside the box. They aren't often held down by conventional thinking and circumstances, so they are the best when it comes to utilizing the amount of control their class gives to them, but in a very specialized self-serving way. Ephemer isn't necessarily what we would normally see as good friend material; first he stands you up, then he hits up your dreams to ask you to bail him out of reality jail. I could really see him being a hope or breath aspect, but to me he leans more breath as conceptualizing him as a hope player also tends to spill into aspects of blood, but as a breath player, everything is still within the realm of breath and it's mirror aspect. Speaking of hope... Baldr: Maid of Hope Maid characters are thought to serve their power and are also a pun on the word "made", meaning that they are their powers. An aspect of both rage and hope is establishing a belief system that is healthy for you based on external forces; where rage often deeply understands these external forces, sees their critical weaknesses, and tries to rise above them, hope tends to start as naive to them and are challenged to find their own truth with what they have. Baldr's knowledge about the nature of hearts, light, and darkness was lacking and flawed. The things that are internally his hope took on these flaws, so he had to create an external ideal of the hope in his sister, only for that to be taken from him leaving him to rely on the hope he internalized. And why not just not give in to that power? Because he is a maid of it; that is who he is as a person. Take care of your hope players, y'all, as they can get really scary when misguided... Brain: Seer of Mind Seers are a fun class where they know their aspect and want to master it at the risk of some sort of peril; sometimes from their aspect or the mirror of their aspect, and sometimes just because of their own tunnel vision. They are one of the more explicitly characterized classes so you know one when you see them; a know-it-all and maybe even a little bit arrogant who isn't afraid to get unethical or harm themselves to reach a goal. While Brain has mostly been shown in a positive note, I can't help but feel with the information given to us at the end of KHUX, knowing he is involved in Missing Link, and knowing it is set before Dark Road sets things up for an equally dark path. Brain feels to me as strong of a blood player as his potential as a mind player. Ultimately I believe the difference is whether or not you consider whatever the events he is involved in are the appropriate path for him or not. Am I going to clarify which is which and what is my stance? No, because if I don't I cant be wrong, silly. Eraqus: Knight of Mind This guy was a little tricky for me to type at first, but ultimately I figured him out before Brain and it just may be a bit of a coincidence that they fall in the same aspect...maybe. Mind and heart both are aspects that involve the concept of making choices for people; mind from an ideological standpoint and one from a personalized standpoint. Mind is more about concepts like karma, justice, actions and their consequences, and moral choices. First instinct would tell you that Eraqus did a terrible job at all that, and as a knight, that should be his thing, right? But like Baldr, he was operating out of a system lacking critical information and perhaps was even fed misleading information. However, as a Knight, he still devoted himself to the service of what he knew. The knight of mind is a very dangerous classpect to have so much going wrong like things were in Dark Road, and that culminated to the events of Birth By Sleep. Also knight of mind is a jedi and he is voiced by mark hamill. jk but it is still funny. Tune in next time where we cover more bbs characters and probably some more tragedies alongside them. Ciao for nao~

Think with all the invasion stuff you’ll compleat any of your characters? (I think I’m too attached/chicken to xD)
I'm kind of in the same boat as you @thetabbybadger I'm far to attached to my walker to complete any of them. Though I had considered have Niphorbis becoming complete do to his connection to nyx and have him pass away when the Phyrexians become inert.
But just because I have no plans to complete any of my oc dose not mean I have not put a lot of thought into what they would be like completed.
Marcel, Tender to Perfection
“I have surrendered the fleeting warming of flesh for the cold embrace of perfection.”
Not to long ago I sent you as message describing a completed Marcel well I have an update to that.
Marcel hair has become one sheet of flesh like silver fused to his lower back and around his ribs, it cloaks his upper body like a funeral lily. His upper body is now segments of perfectly smooth porcelain, jointed together like a great doll. As he moves you can see in the gaps of the joints brambles of copper, wound together in a mockery of muscle and sinew. His lower body though is now quadrupedal, green copper artistically sculpted into a mockery of a unicorn. An affront to everything Marcel ever believed in and the blessed of his home plane.
Marcel had become Elesh Norn's greatest weapon against the remains of the Mirrodin resistance, for against the cold artificialness of New Phyrexia their life force burns like a flare in the night.
When the invasion happened Marcel was tasked with brining perfection to his own home plane. Here he further proved his worth to the great work as he ability to manipulate life energies assisted in allowing the Phyrexian to overcome the Floramorians natural resistance to completion.
He would ultimately be put down by Duke Lyle, who in a brutal dragged out battle was finally able to avenge both his sons from what had happened to them. But this was not the end of Marcel's story for as he laid dying on warm stone of the castle he grew up in, the soul of Floramore heard the anguish of the soul trapped with in metal cage. She welcomed her lost child back into the embrace of the good earth, and somewhere far in the Fair Wilds a young dryad with silver hair would one day be born with a spark already ignited.
Tumblr media
Segara, Avatar of Assimilation
"Here my journey has come to an end, I have found my place within the great work."
The breathtaking albino peacock feather of Segara's mighty wings have fused together into great sheets of chrome, tipped with the eyes of gitaxias. His head is now a chrome bird skull with interlocking metal spines flowing down from it to his chest. His body is now completely smooth chrome, with the symbol of Phyrexia carved into his chest. Behind him rages a living storm of black oil vapers, the Avatar of Assimilation. Born from Segara adsorbing the magic of glistening oil into his body and with the magic of his former goddess manifesting the very avatar of Phyrexia's will.
Molycap, Mycosynth Mutation
*horrifical oily gurgles*
Molycap has fused with mycosyth to become a horrific blighted mound of death and decay. A living rot farm of fused funguses and the undead from which Phyrexian saprolings burst from that quickly skitter into the dark of the undercity to spread more of the glistening oil into Ravnica water ways.
Serrabeth, Blazing Raider
"Come now child, no more tears, sometimes you got to know when to join the winning side."
Out of all my walker Serrabeth might have joined Urabrask willingly, trading in her aging body for one of immoral iron. Most of Serrabeth body is little more then an skeletal framework with a skull and crossbones making up her chest. The rest of her is the flames of Urabrask furnace given life, oh also her left arm is now a cannon because fuck ya.
Dillan, Yawgmoth's Dream
"Soon the nightmare of flesh will come to an end and all will share the dream of Phyrexia."
Dillan lower body if formed out of porcelain plates and has become more of a bipedal satyr then the sheep centaur he used to be. A sheet of white oil stained wool rapped around his waist like a child's security blanket. His chest is made entirely out of silver as he has been fused to mother moon. Who now oily sands now flow from the gap in his chest, spreading the dream of completion.
Nivel, Phyrexia's Harmony
"Soon we shall all sing in one voice"
Nivel has been fused with a number of other Phyrexias from all of the factions, their bodies forming a sort of twisted exoskeleton around is. They are his choirs and he is their conductor. Together they sing the hymn of the Phyrexia using Nivel animation magic to bring completion even to unliving stone.
Angelique, Angel of Elesh Norn
"In the light of the five suns I have foreseen Phyrexia's victory across countless worlds."
Angelique would be twisted into a mockery of an Elspeth, her body now little more then a set of living procaine pates interlocked into a set of armor. Behind her head is a halo shaped in of the New Phyreia's symbol. From her shoulders extend two great vents from which gouts of great flames burst forth giving the illusion of wings.
Valentino, Unseen Agent
"Promises where made to me that my love would be returned to me in perfection."
No one knows what Valentino's completed form looks like and that is the point. His mastery of illusion magic has made him invaluable in infiltration pockets of resistance and destroying them from within.
Ozmander, Porcelain Patriarch
"I have served many who only keep a veneer of faith, I find no such weakness here."
The left half of Ozmander body is formed from the white of the orthodoxies porcelain, the right the black iron of the steel thanes. He is draped his the robes of a holy man tattered and dripping with black oil, his sword having been fused with his right hand where it spins in it's socket.
Anise, Phyrexias Scripter
"The story has been written, the ending planed long in advance, all will be one."
Anise body now had the skeletal build of black iron, wing of folded porcelain plates and a cap of chrome covering her eyes. She now write in glistening oil a single word on everything she sees "Completion".

The year is 1893, and Cora Seaborne (Claire Danes), a Londoner exploring her newfound freedom after the death of her abusive husband, hears about a sea monster terrorizing a village on the Essex coast. Cora is an avid naturalist and fossil hunter, so she decides to go investigate with her housekeeper and companion Martha (Hayley Squires) and her son Frankie (Caspar Griffiths) in tow. When she gets there, she befriends the Reverend Will Ransome (Tom Hiddleston) and his family. As the two begin to develop feelings for each other, though, the panicked villagers find an easy scapegoat in Cora, accusing her of bringing God’s wrath to the village. Meanwhile, Martha, Dr. Luke Garrett (Frank Dillane), and other characters in Cora’s orbit ride the wave of change in England, exploring questions of science, progress, and human rights in a rapidly changing world. The Essex Serpent is adapted from the 2016 novel by Sarah Perry of the same name.
You might have already heard that the landscape in The Essex Serpent, a new prestige drama premiering on Apple TV+ on May 13, 2022, is as much of a character as any of the humans, and that’s no exaggeration. The Essex coast, with its salt marshes and earthquake-torn beaches, is both breathtaking and sinister. Lingering aerial shots take us through the vast marshes, which coil along the coast like snakes. Sea cliffs hide the fossils of ammonites and plesiosaurs. A mysterious atmospheric phenomenon—an eruption from far-off Mount Krakatoa, one character speculates—turns the night sky a shimmering, eldritch blue, and calls the villagers out of their homes to roam the land like ghosts. The series sets up a startling contrast between the otherworldly seaside and cosmopolitan London, with its stately museums and cutting-edge medicine.
At the heart of The Essex Serpent is the question of how faith and enchantment can coexist with science and rationality, and Cora and Will are thrust into the middle of that debate. Cora struggles to explain to superstitious villagers and skeptical London friends that she thinks the serpent is real, but not magical. Will, who walked away from a prestigious career to become a country vicar, finds himself pulled between two extremes: the folk religion of his parishioners, who believe that the serpent is punishing them for their sins, and the atheism of Cora and her friends, some of whom see him as a joke. England is tipping into modernity, with doctors in London performing heart surgery while villagers cast spells to ward off evil, and at its best, the series beautifully conveys the tension between those two worlds.
Hiddleston and Danes’s performances are layered, complex, and expertly executed. Will’s personality alternates between that of a gruff, hostile villager and a compassionate shepherd to his family and flock. Cora can be socially clueless sometimes, bumbling into spaces where she’s not welcome and accidentally stirring up hornets’ nests, but her simmering rage at her husband’s abuse gives her a compelling intensity. Clémence Poésy also shines as Will’s wife Stella. For much of the series, she haunts the edges of the narrative, but she’s harboring a secret that eventually leads to heartbreaking catharsis. The casting is also diverse in a natural, realistic way, which will challenge many viewers’ preconceived and false notions about the demographics of Victorian England.
Of course, the series isn’t without its faults. Martha, Luke, and other characters fight for better living conditions in London, and although it’s an interesting storyline, it feels divorced enough from Cora’s exploits that perhaps it should have just been its own series. Dialogue that’s meant to be thought-provoking sometimes just drags, and more than once, the beauty of the show’s lingering establishing shots wears off before the shot is actually over.
The series also suffers from some cliches. What better way to show two characters falling in love than to have them gaze into each other’s eyes while dancing a waltz? Or get them into a screaming match before they fall, helpless with passion, into each other’s arms? If the villagers are working themselves into a lather about woman and sin, why not put the woman in question in a bright red dress to hammer the point home?
Those flaws aside, though, The Essex Serpent succeeds as a gothic meditation on the magic and wonder of the natural world, whether it’s seen through the lens of science or the supernatural. But it’s also a moving story about human connection. “Love is not finite,” Cora muses at one point. “It’s not confined to marriage. There are so many ways to love.” Cora, Will, and everyone else caught up in the serpent’s wake feel their way through all those different kinds of love, sometimes stumbling, sometimes finding each other in moments of tenderness and awe.
The Essex Serpent premieres on Apple TV Plus on Friday, May 13.

hello! could i hear more about dillian? he sounds very interesting, and i love portal-type fantasy stories!
Hi! :D
Dillan is a curious 13 year old with a fairly mellow demeanor. He isn't very outgoing socially, so he only has a few close friends and his dog, and even they consider him awkward.
However, despite his notable shyness, he does like adventures, and loves spending time doing hikes with his father, and just being outdoors in general.
Back on the curiosity, he is very good at pulling out little details that many overlook, and he likes trying to piece things together. Though, he often finds himself stuck in his own head and overthinking the information he's found.
The mystery he's hung up on in the beginning of the story is the disappearance of his young cousin, Hailey, who vanished without a trace nearly 8 years prior. His family had taken the wounded girl in after both her parents had been killed in a fire, and not even 2 months later, she was gone. (She'd run away from Dillan's mother in a supermarket and they couldn't find her.)
However, he'd never had much information on it, as his mother was very strict on not talking about it. (She'd never liked the child, and when she lost her, it brought her bad publicity in their small town.)
Though, when he got to visited his Grandmother and stay at her house while his parents filed for a divorce, he learned more about his father's side of the family, and more about everything he'd missed out on. (Hailey was his father's sister's daughter. His mother despised his entire family and refused to have anything to do with them.)
His goal in the story is to find his cousin, as he has reason to believe she's still alive, and he's hoping that her reappearance might save his parent's marriage. (His father was deeply upset when his wife lost Hailey, as that was all he had left of his sister, and even more so when she basically blocked out the rest of his family. This led to fighting and eventually the talk of divorce.)
...
...
...
Oh yeah, and survive long enough to find her.

You've been visited by the random OC question fairy! :D ~☆
What do the people in your character's life think of them and why? Is your character concerned with how other people view them?
wOah wasn't expecting this uhhh-
Uhhh, I don't really know how to answer this one honestly-
I'll do the characters that most apply to it-
Dillan: Most of his family think of him as a socially awkward child, cause he is, but specially his father also sees him as a sensitive and curious boy who sometimes just needs a push in the right direction. Dillan himself does concern himself with how people think of him, but specifically more around newer people than the people he's known for a long time.
Kevin: His father saw him as a bright and hard working boy, and so did his mother. His siblings saw him as a troublesome brother you always wanted on your side in an argument. However, his step-mom didn't think he was serious about school and tried forcing him to get better. A lot of kids at his school also thought he was stupid because he couldn't grasp certain concepts like spelling and reading as well as the rest of the class. At first, it made him really upset, to the point where he ran away, but now he doesn't care what you or anyone else thinks of him.
Increase: His father, or Willam, thinks of him as hard working and kind, as do most of the other people who know him. Increase himself does question what people think of him a lot, mainly cause he's scared of being s u s.
Janet: Janet's mother and father mostly saw her as a rebellious girl who was leading herself down a bad path and thought she needed a lot guidance from them. However, this only really caused conflict between them, as Janet felt it started pushing into her privacy. Janet never cared what her parents thought and she more looked from approval from her friends. Though more recently, she's been working herself too hard to dwell on what people think of her.
Second: Second's mother and oldest sister thought of him as their little baby they needed to shelter, while his father and older brother were on different sides of the spectrum. They, more commonly his father, believed that he wasn't trying his hardest and that he could do better if he was pushed hard enough. This actually led to a lot of self doubt and self confidence issues for Second, and eventually spiralled into childhood Depression at an early(ish) age. Even though his father backed off after the diagnosis, he still struggled with how other people viewed him and still does to this day, though it's mainly with just a handful of people now.
Broderick: Harrison, his father, and him never really got along. He saw him as a boy who was looking for trouble and always found it. They've patched their relationship a bit as he's grown older, but it's still rough. His mother loved him and did her best to understand his behavior. She would always defend him and even get mad at her husband for snapping at him. His brother Cohen always looked up to him and thinks of him as a really cool older brother, even now that they're both adults. He definitely concerns himself about what others think about it, even more than ever before. It's started taking a toll on him as time goes on.
Thanks for the ask Dear Fairy!

Kingdom Hearts Character's (Homestuck) Classpect Pt.1: I'm Not a Liar.
Howsitgoinguys I'm back with that thing I promised. I never forgot about it, it was just that some characters were so hard to classpect that for the sake of my sanity I had to step back from the project. But I'm back on my manic bullshit so not only did I get it done, but I have classpected every single character originally from Kingdom Hearts. Before I announce the first batch, I just want to be clear about my Classpecting system.
💋 I treat Classpecting as self contained like a horoscope or MBTI type thingy. But not as a personality thing; more like incorporating the story as a whole into the healthiest state of being for the character.
💋Because of above, I don't believe any Classpect is doomed to fail; it depends on the actions and events of the story and clashing with other classpects that lead down that path. Death can very well be part of the journey for a character but it shouldn't be the end; Foretellers yes, Dark Road no.
💋 My point of reference is literally what I remember from Homestuck itself, some notes from the Classpecting for Assholes by Neurotypeline video and the wiki HOWEVER I have also seen Optimistic Dualist's and Ouroborista's videos on the subject so if their influence it's felt... I just can't help it man, I don't have original thoughts.
💋 I believe in aspect duality; Breath-Blood, Time-Space, Hope-Rage, Doom-Life, Void-Light, Heart-Mind
💋 Breath/Blood is forward progression, Time/Space is foundation, Hope/Rage is symbolism and themes, Doom/Life is narrative, Void/Life is lore, Heart-Mind is character development. HOWEVER these categories aren't isolated. Characters can dip into adjacent concepts to help progress the main; the closest two inconsequentially and the ones further out with the possibility of an issue occuring.
💋 Characters are also linked to their mirror; sometimes in symbolism or their inclination to lean into it. Depending on the class and the context it can either be a nifty tool or super detrimental. In general even the most flexible classpect will go down a bad path if they lean more heavily into their mirror than their true Classpect.
💋 This is not a statement on powers or personality. Being the same Classpect as a cannon character doesn't mean shit I'm just dumb like that. The way I see it, your aspect is a collection of keywords, your class is the origin of your power/journey to getting it, and what the results of that are purely up to your imagination.
💋 Similar classpects will probably feel some type of way about them. Certain classes function the same way in a typically replicable way so they might relate on their journey. Certain aspects usually have keywords that correlate to ideological beliefs. They might also hate each other and be polar opposites because they interpret those keywords differently or they don't embrace/understand the journey of their class.
With that out of the way, there are a collection of types where there isn't enough content for me to do anything but vibe type them or...I dunno. I just don't have a lot to say about them. If your fave is on here, I'm sorry bestie. If you press me for your fave individually I will be happy to explain the reasoning but off the top of my head, I have nothing to say about these motherfuckers.

Living forever with the rage that they did Stannis so fucking wrong in the show and yet Stephen Dillane:
A. played him perfectly, just beautifully
B. hated everything he was doing with the character and had no idea wtf was going on the whole time but had to do it anyway and as a consequence he somehow wound up playing Stannis so goddamn perfectly it turns out he maybe??? never really broke character and also might be Stannis in rl, like oh my fucking god
Lord of Light knows Stannis hates Stannis and what Stannis is doing more than anybody.  It’s a shame he was fucked over by GOT.  Stannis is still alive in the books and has so much more teeth-grinding shit to give!

Apparently now in Fear The Walking Dead, the concept of a "bad guy" or "villain" is someone who always lets the good guys go, never harms anyone or is even particularly threatening, and wants to help people, only they're a little more willing than Morgan to use force to get what they want.
That's . . . not a great concept for a bad guy in a zombie apocalypse. I don't mind having the bad guys think they're doing the right thing, or even pretend to be good for a while before showing their true colors (like the Governor in The Walking Dead) but that's not what's going on here.
Honestly, I'm not really sure what's going on with FearTWD these days. It's so boring. Sunday night's episode focuses on Al and Morgan in the A plot and Daniel and Grace in the B plot. We'll start with Al and Morgan.
Right off the bat, things are just cringe-inducing in 'Today and Tomorrow'. The episode opens on scenes of Morgan talking to the camera. Turns out, he's watching recordings . . . of himself?
Al suggests they head on back to the convoy because they don't have much gas but he insists that they drive around and waste more precious supplies by dropping off more boxes, because it's important. Al disagrees, because logistical considerations are also important, but Morgan refuses to budge. Who cares if they run out of gas? So long as they're "helping people" all is well. Later we discover that he's avoiding going back because he's been stuck (always stuck!) and was afraid of seeing Grace.
In any case, they run into a dude in the parking lot who steals some of their gas. He's in bad shape, and it turns out that he's running away from the Virginia and the Pioneers. Some of the horsemen show up just then and the three of them hide in a van. It's funny that pretty much right at the exact same time that this new group shows up at the oil refinery, they also show up where Morgan and Al are, even though they're so far out of range with the walkie-talkies. Virginia just happens to be right over in that neck of the woods also? It's another silly coincidence.
The guy says his sister is in the place they were staying that the Pioneers took from them, so of course Morgan and Al go to find her. Al also wants to find the helicopter chick, thinking that maybe this new group is the same one she was with, despite them riding horses instead of helicopters, and cowboy hats instead of zombie-resistant hazmat suits. She's sorely disappointed later when she asks Virginia and Virginia points out that they just now gained access to gas.
Al wants to find her crush so badly, that she insists on going in to the compound alone while Morgan gets the guy to safety. Because splitting up in dangerous situations is such a great idea. What could possibly go wrong?
They end up going in together. The sister has escaped, but the Pioneers capture them both. Somehow Virginia knows that the sister got away and left a zombie behind in the room, despite Morgan being the one to find and kill that zombie. I'm a little confused about that.
Still, getting captured by bad guys in Fear is about as worrisome as encountering a zombie. Zombies never kill characters anymore, and bad guys just let the good guys go without so much as a slap on the wrist. Virginia not only lets Morgan and Al walk free, she has one of her people fix his stick for him. Virginia knows all about both of them thanks to that ridiculous PSA they made in episode 9, and she thinks it was a brilliant idea. She must be the only one, because that remains one of the most ridiculously stupid things I've seen on TV. Ever.
Most of the subplot with Daniel and Grace was pretty excruciating. Daniel's character has been reduced to a boring old grandfatherly dude without any edge. All the hard lines are gone. All the struggles he faced with his past, his mental illness, his fury, all vanished. Now he sits and pats Grace's hand and tells her everything will be alright.
I will admit, the one bright moment of this entire episode for me was when Daniel and Grace sing a little duet together. They're in a bar and they find an acoustic guitar and Grace picks it up and starts singing. Daniel chimes in. They sound pretty good, too. That's not surprising. Karen David (Grace) was one of the leads in Galavant and she has a terrific voice. Now that was a good TV show.
In any case, over in Morganland, he has a revelation. Somehow him telling Virginia that they're stuck in the past has dislodged something in his brain and he's realized that he, too, is stuck in the past. He hops on the walkie-talkie and radios Grace. Daniel is on the other end and says that a minute ago (like, when they were singing?) she seemed fine, but now she's in bad shape.
Cut to Grace who looks ill, right on death's door. Morgan wants to talk to her. He needs to come quick, though, because she thinks it could all be over quickly.
What? What on earth is going on here? I'm no medical professional, but I'm pretty sure you don't go from "just fine" to "on death's door" from radiation poisoning that you acquired weeks earlier, in that span of time. You either get enough radiation right off the bat that it kills you pretty quickly, or you get just enough that it kills you slowly over time. It doesn't just suddenly kick in three months later and then kill you in an hour.
Am I wrong? It just doesn't feel right at all. It feels like yet another lazy, stupid attempt at creating tension and teasing viewers with a cliffhanger. "Oh no, what are we going to do if Grace dies?!" As though they've given us any reason to care about any of these characters anymore. If they all died and only Skidmark made it out alive, I'd be perfectly fine with that.
Don't get me wrong. I'm still a fan of Daniel and Alicia and Dorie and a couple others, but only in an abstract sense. I like who Daniel used to be, when he was a tough-as-nails ex-military guy who never put up with any nonsense.
I like the way Alicia was growing as a character, right up until they chopped off her character growth at the knees and made her just another Morganite.
I like John Dorie in theory, and he could have been a really fascinating character if he was a diamond in the rough, a truly good man in a world where everyone else's morality was a lot more grey. But instead, Dorie is just one of many morally pure do-gooders now, robbed of his most interesting qualities, or rather those qualities have become camouflaged thanks to the quiet assassination of pretty much everyone's personality.
All these actors--Ruben Blades, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Garret Dillahunt, etc.--deserve better roles in better shows, and if AMC can't get Fear back on track, I can't imagine they'll stick around for long. I can't imagine that Kim Dickens or Frank Dillane have any regrets at this point.
And so here we are. Two episodes left. A brand new group of boring villains. All the characters on the show far less interesting and compelling than they ought to be. A story that has rambled and wobbled since the start of Season 5 and still managed to get nowhere.
I swear, you could just cut almost this entire season and it wouldn't matter. You could skip the whole thing and it wouldn't matter. Nobody has died. Nothing has changed. We've picked up some new characters along the way, but they haven't brought anything very worthwhile to the table. The apocalypse itself is a timid, milquetoast affair.
The one mildly interesting character was Logan and he showed up just to get killed off by the Pioneers. He was little more than a totally pointless red herring. Dwight showed up, shaved his beard, and promptly fell into the Hive Mind, pissing away whatever personality he had left to become an acolyte of the great prophet Morgan.
What a mess. What an utterly inexcusable, entirely avoidable disaster. There's no two ways about this. Showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg have, with the blessing of Scott Gimple and the higher-ups at AMC, managed to completely ruin this show. And there's no sign it's going anywhere but down. I honestly can't believe they haven't been replaced at this point, and I cannot fathom why AMC would keep them around to ruin Season 6 as well. Maybe if ratings keep slipping and fans keep raging, we'll get the change we so desperately need.
The only question is whether or not it's too late.

Hi~ Here for the Underwing Challenge! Hope you're doing well! :D Simple one for today: What scene are you looking forward to tackling the most?
Hi! :D
Oooooo, this is a good question.
For Rage, it's a hard choice, but I'm going to have to go with this one chapter that I'm really nervous, but also really looking forward to writing.
I don't want to give too much away because spoilers, but it's meant to be really suspenseful and eerily out of place and I love it! There's new character "introductions" as well as a lot of lore that's thrown into the mix! Plus, I have a whole thing planned for it, and even if I don't get it done in time, I'm still really looking forward to working on it!
I'll talk about it more in detail under the cut, but spoiler warning:
Thanks for the question!
Context: In the chapter before this, Dillan gets freaked out and tries to leave the Trap World through a The Exit Portal (which was deemed unsafe after the Blackout). However, he is stopped by two older boys. While they talk, they are ambushed and one of the boys is shot by an arrow. Now, he's going back to try and figure out what exactly happened that night.
So, after returning to the Hollowed Room and finding nothing, him and his friend Rosa decide to return home. However, while teleporting, they are glitched into this creepy, abandoned warehouse-like place. In fear, they take shelter to try and figure out what's going on and quickly realize that they aren't alone, and that there might be more to the warehouse then they thought.
Ye! I love it because it's meant to completely throw people off guard and make them question a lot of stuff!
As for the project, I don't want to confirm anything, as I'm not even sure it would be possible for me to do, but I want to make a little demo game of that chapter to try and sprinkle in more lore, as well as just show it in another light!
Again thanks for the question!

"In with the Old...Out with the New."
Waa! :D
I decided to remake the cover not only because the design of the Hollowed Room was outdated, but I also had a new idea and wanted to try it! And I like how it turned out!
Okay, so this was originally made as sort of a celebration for hitting my 20th chapter in Rage that Controls the Blade (Because it's about half way through the book and it's the farthest I've ever gotten!) However, with the whole theft situation, I had to unpublish my book to stop the bot from stealing anymore, so I couldn't actually post the chapter...
But, on that note, I've got some news! I've decided to try and republish the story! If you want to check it out, the link is right Here! (Any views would be appreciated!). As of right now, it's only on Wattpad, but I might try posting it on Tumblr at some point!
There's also only two chapters published, as I'm trying to make a more stable schedule, but more are sure to come!
Thank you all so much for reading and I hope you have a great day! 💚
