I've been working on my personal fakemon region on and off and wanted to show off this line that I just finished! Gnourly and Trollicious are based off of gnomes, trolls, icing, and various kinds of cake. Gnourly evolves into Trollicious depending on its icing color. These guys were super fun to design and I'm very happy with their concept!

CURRENT LOCATION: Cutie Mark Crusaders' Clubhouse, Sweet Apple Acres
DAYS SINCE OUTBREAK: 92 Days
As an MLP Infection AU enthusiast, I'm here to contribute my two cents where the CMC and the cake twins are alone and left to defend themselves (unfortunate accidental situation. The mane six were in Canterlot.). They find the cake twins and really, they can't leave them alone. Not when Mr. And Mrs. Cake were infected.
They're a lil' bit older in my au, about the age of teenagers but they're all still children. Pumpkin Cake and Pound Cake are about 2-3 years old.

Okay, so at least there's the pound cake...
This is the recipe.
Slight alteration of method, here. Creamed the butter and sugar together first (in a cold kitchen, whoopee), then added the eggs and vanilla, and beat all that together until fairly smooth. Then added the flour/baking powder mixture spoonful by spoonful with the beater running on low. Finally added three tablespoons, not of milk but of buttermilk—because it's more acidic and may well provoke a better rise. (The only reason the milk's in there at all is because the liquid in the egg whites won't be sufficient to activate the baking powder properly. So, at least in theory, buttermilk should work better.) (ETA: And the cake at least doubled in the pan, so this theory seems to have held up.)
While this was going on: buttered the loaf pan, cut the necessary amount of baking parchment, maneuvered it into the pan and pressed all around till it stuck: then brushed it on the inside with a tablespoon or so of melted butter. No point in giving the parchment any more reason than necessary to attach itself to things.
Then scooped the batter into the pan and leveled it out. Et voilà.
Now considering what else to do to it, since white-sugar icing isn't really something I feel like today. WTH, I've got cream and dark chocolate... maybe I'll just drizzle this with ganache. (Assuming I can avoid blowing that up.) :)
(Afterthought: might do the lemon drizzle from David Arnold's lemon cake. That came out really well...)
