When the Legends Arceus version of Eterna Forest theme played during Perrin's Bloodmoon Beast mission, I was so filled with nostalgia for Legends Arceus that I briefly forgot BrilliantDiamond/ShiningPearl existed. I was like,
Me: Well now I want to see what modern Hisui looks like!
Also me: That's just Sinnoh...
Me: Well yeah, but the modern version of Sinnoh that Perrin is from!
I cannot envision Perrin in BrilliantDiamond/ShiningPearl, or any modern Pokemon character for that matter.
Also using the sound effects from Legends Arceus, including the catch theme is just perfect.
The fact I can be this nostalgic for a game that came out last year goes to show that Legends Arceus is my second favorite Pokemon game after Black and White. I really liked Perrin's mission, but this was just was just the syrup on Dipplin.

hmmm I’m curious sooooo
+Mack+
Oh GOD there's a lot of versions I gotta get through
Red/Blue: Specializing in PAYBACK, EERIE SPELL and AGILITY it's impossible to corner and defeat Mack, Especially since his 4th move is a more powerful and skilled version of METRONOME
Yellow: He often uses AGILITY in the wild to go faster and escape from dangers, While also capturing prey.
Gold: It feels the danger and lets it get inches away before retaliation, Often ending in the aggressor as his next meal.
Silver: When multiple aggressive dominant pokemon go missing or are found dead, Thats how you can tell Mack has moved into the area
Crystal: Bribing stronger pokemon to protect him, He only sleeps 5 hours a day. If his trust were to go to the wrong person he'd end up dead.
Ruby: Testing pokemon to see who'd be worthy enough to keep him safe usually only ends up with one or two who survive, Causing Mack to lose nights of sleep.
(Img added in place of text due to character limit block)
Tumblr media
Platinum: With such little sleep and food scientists question how Mack survives, A full study has never been completed.
Heartgold: It's been said that Mack cares for the children who get lost in the forest, Guiding them to their final resting place.
Soulsilver: Most Phantumps know Mack and reguard him as a father figure of sorts.
Black/white(1&2): Every scientist who's attempted to follow Mack around for a day has either went missing or lost him within an hour
X: While sleeping Mack leaves himself completely vulnerable making it the easiest time to kill him.
Y: It's been said that Mack cares for the children who get lost in the forest, Guiding them to their final resting place.
OmegaRuby: Testing pokemon to see who'd be worthy enough to keep him safe usually only ends up with one or two who survive, Causing Mack to lose nights of sleep.
AlphaSaphire: Running on little to no sleep Mack relies on AGILITY and PP potions to keep him awake.
Sun: If you find a bunch of phantumps gathered in one place, Leave immediately. Catching or attempting to catch one will result in Mack finding you immediately.
Moon: If you find a pokemon that looks gooey, Report it immediately. Or if you find a cluster of Phantumps. Mack can be detered while they are saved.
UltraSun: You can never tell if Mack is saving a child or bringing it to his cluster, It's safer to follow from a distance.
UltraMoon: If missing children show back up it's most likely due to Mack luring them out of the forest.
Let's go eevee/pikachu: Most Phantumps know Mack and reguard him as a father figure of sorts.
Sword: With a kind heart he does his best to make sure lost children in the forest survive
Shield: Mack tries keeping children out of forests by putting a fence around the woods, But ends up finding hurt children who climbed the fence instead of no children at all.
ShiningPearl: Mack likes to hear his prey beg for mercy
BrilliantDiamond: Mack plays games on days it got more sleep, Setting traps to watch his prey struggle in before letting them go and giving chase the next morning
Legends: Arceus: As he watches from the shadows nobody is safe- Except the children which he refuses to let harm come to.
BONUS: Nicknaming Mack 'Macky Moth' makes it more docile and less aggressive.

looking at the pokemon timelines and realizing how fucked up they are cause like the main 3 timelines die after diamond/pearl/platinum but the remake timelines become the main lines since post DPP there are only ever 2 versions per gen. We also have 2 new timelines forming with lets go, and legends shows the where the original timeline split for BDSP
Pokemon timelines
OG/Trilogy Green/Blue>Silver>Sapphire>Diamond Red>Gold>Ruby>Pearl Yellow>Crystal>Emerald>Platinum
Remake/Duology FireRed>HeartGold>OmegaRuby>ShiningPearl>Black>Black2>Y>Sun>UltraSun>Shield>Scarlet LeafGreen>SoulSilver>AlphaSappire>BriliantDiamond>White>White2>X>Moon>UltraMoon>Sword>Violet
Let's Go Pikachu>? Let's Go Eevee>?

The Season of Sinnoh: Reflecting on Diamond and Pearl
Tomorrow a lot of us get to play BrilliantDiamond and ShiningPearl, which kicks off a fun few months where we play our faithfully recreated ILCA renditions of Diamond and Pearl as we wait just mere months for GameFreak's love letter to Sinnoh, Legends: Arceus.
The Sinnoh games are special in more ways than one. They are the culmination of the Japan-based Pokemon games, sort of a capstone to an era before Black and White started the tradition of exploring the globe.
Arguably, Diamond and Pearl are the realization/completion of the region that encompassed all Japan from the 1998 Spaceworld Gold demo; after all in the demo there are several early concepts of later evolutions like Tangrowth, Lickylicky, Leafeon, and Mime Jr.. The demo also had the “Heart Stone” and the “Poison Stone”, which I theorize might be inspirations for the later Shiny Stone and Dusk Stone, mainly because Dark type Pokemon like Umbreon originally started out as more Poison types.
In the long run, HeartGold and Soul Silver cemented the connection between Johto and Sinnoh canonically.
Tumblr media
Paradoxically, Pokemon Pearl is both a really important game for me, and kind of a forgotten one. I was a Freshman in college when Pokemon Pearl came out, and it was perfect timing because I was studying historical symbolism and religious texts. At the time it came out in the west, my class was studying depictions of Hell, so I named my Empleon “Styx”. (It's a body of water, after all.) It...actually wasn't a great year for me. I was suffering depression from health problems, and as you can probably guess, Pokemon Pearl was a refuge for me. It's a tale as old as Pokemon.
That’s why I regret not doing the game more justice. I made the mistake of trading away my Palkia for a shiny Ponyta that my former best friend chained. I had never encountered a shiny before, and I loved blue Pokemon. But even though she was already going to release it, she would only only trade it for my Palkia. And to add insult to injury, she asked me change Palkia's name to “Charlie” after that old YouTube series Charlie the Unicorn. Our, um, friendship wasn't doing too good.
Tumblr media
With my Pokemon transferred to Pokemon Black, I eventually sold Pearl, and that too was a really bad idea in retrospect. It was a different time. So ironically I’m kind of glad to have a “faithful remake” so I can have another chance to play Pearl. Back then I was so busy training older Pokemon from LeafGreen that I didn’t even train a lot of Sinnoh Pokemon besides Styx. There are so many Sinnoh and Hisui natives that I can’t wait to give attention to now.
It’s no secret that BrilliantDiamond and ShiningPearl struggle in the shadow of Legends: Arceus. Heck, BDSP weren’t even finished until the patch about a week ago. Even though we’re hyped for Legends: Arceus, it is technically a risky move for the Pokemon Company. It’s not the straightforward Sinnoh remake the older fans have been clamoring for, and a lot of the younger fans haven’t played Diamond and Pearl, so they don’t know the context for the prequel.
So as insurance, the Pokemon Company went to ILCA, the developer of Pokemon HOME, and hired them to develop a very safe, relatively cheaper Diamond and Pearl remake using the free Unity engine. In short: BrilliantDiamond and ShiningPearl probably wouldn't be around if the Pokemon Company didn't need safe alternatives to Legends: Arceus. If you’re disappointed with BDSP playing it safe, wait for the full experience of both games.
Tumblr media
Regardless of why, it’s pretty cool that The Pokemon Company is celebrating Sinnoh with both a prequel AND a remake. It’s clear that Diamond and Pearl were important Pokemon games not just for us, but for GameFreak too. They close out the foundational first four generations of the Pokemon games, fulfill the promises that earlier Pokemon games couldn’t yet achieve, and brought fans across the world together with WiFi for the first time.
The Season of Sinnoh has started. Let’s have fun with our faithful remakes while we count down to a trip back in time, to the old region of Hisui.

I posted this on my YouTube channel but I need the advice of people on here because I honestly trust tumblr more than I do YouTube with the GachaHackers and everything, also I turned off the comments.
So here’s the question.
Am I sexist for wanting to use female Pokémon only?
This quest has been on my mind for the past couple of years and has bothered me ever since. Ever since I first started Pokémon, I always made it a habit of wanting to only catch female Pokémon.
And I guess the way the world is changing right now I guess, for some reason, made me see this as a potential issue with gender and everything.
Anyway, I only caught female only Pokémon for a couple of reasons. One of them being it’s just what I prefer. ( also I have a hard time being around men after some person experiences from when I was little. And I guess this transferred into video games some how…?) I also find more comfort in having females over male Pokémon. ( which is probably why my Danganronpa fankids are all female, I find comfort in drawing female. Also cause they are easier).
I plan on doing a Pokémon Brilliant Diamond let’s play for my channel, and I was afraid people would get mad at me for only using one gender. And since I’m a GachaTuber this kinda makes it worse since lately, a lot of gachatubers are being hated on for no reason.
I know it’s just a game and I shouldn’t worry about this and just use whatever I want. But I didn’t want people to think I was a sexist or some sort of bad person.
So am I a sexist?

We are two weeks away from the release of Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, so before the games come out, I would like to propose an idea for a postgame that would take some inspiration from the story of Pokemon Platinum.
Keep in mind that this is an idea that I came up with, and this may not be accurate to the actual postgame for Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.
This idea is going under a “Read More” due to spoilers, both for the main story of Diamond & Pearl, and the main story of Platinum.
For those of you who have played Diamond & Pearl and got past the Spear Pillar, you may remember these lines from Cyrus:
“…I won’t allow this…”
“I will capture those three again and craft another Red Chain!”
For context, this is after Uxie, Mespirit, and Azelf destroy the Red Chain that Cyrus created for the purpose of summoning Dialga/Palkia in an attempt to destroy the old universe (a.ka. the current Pokemon universe) and create a new one in his own image.
After you defeat Cyrus at Spear Pillar, he disappears, never to be seen again. He never follows up on his threat to capture Uxie, Mespirit, and Azelf and create a new Red Chain.
But what if he did?
What if he kept his promise and captured the lake guardians again?
What if Cyrus created not one, but two new Red Chains?
What if he used them to summon both Dialga and Palkia, knowing that the lake guardians aren’t strong enough to counterbalance both of their powers at the same time?
What if Giratina appeared and stopped his plan by dragging him into the Distortion World, freeing both Dialga and Palkia in the process?
What if you had to travel to the Distortion World to save the Sinnoh region for a second time?
What if this was the postgame for Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl?
