also, I have made an Executive Decision. I am resetting my emotions on Ryuji to zero. I am taking my hatred and ire and all the times he made me uncomfortable as the player of the video game, and I'm putting them all into a box and putting those emotions away. I am going to give Ryuji Persona5Strikers another shot to not be a contemptuous little shitheel I want to eject from the story.

Mostly because his voice actor is doing such good work and I would like to like Ryuji.

So I’ve Played Persona 5 Strikers...

And man... it was way, way, waaaaaaaay better than I expected. Couldn’t recommend it more than enough. Tbh, I wasn’t all that excited for it at first since the P5 cast isn’t really my favorite. Sure, I like them, but not as much as P3 (I’m sorry for my bias, Phantom Thieves ^^”). I also didn’t follow any other news about this game, so I was coming in 99% blind? All I knew was that it’s a musou-type game and that there’s a new character or two? Also that it’s about their summer vacation or something. I didn’t know that it was gonna be a roadtrip.  Color me surprised when I started off with the gameplay. I’ve played Dynasty Warriors with my brother before, so I thought it was gonna be similar, buuut...... no, it felt different? I got worried at first since when I started out, there were so many things to learn and I wasn’t sure if I can handle it, so I just thought to myself, ‘eh, it’s a spin off. I can handle this’....... and welp. Turned out to be the most difficult Persona game I’ve played yet? Ol< Once I’ve gotten accustomed to the controls, the game got more fun. I had a blast with the battle system, even though I died so many times... I do love me some challenge, though I did tend to use cowardly tactics, but hey-if it works, then HA. Now for the story... it’s not super deep, but I’d say I got more feels with this than I did with P5. I swear, I probably teared up like 3 or 4 times? The villains are much more sympathetic than P5′s, and most of them were kind of relatable to me. The finale was also great. P5 still did give me that catharsis of exacting revenge on Shido :3. Somehow, I did feel that P5S feels closer to ‘You are slave. Do you want emancipation?‘ tagline of P5 when it was teased back in the days, and I liked that. And of course, the characters.................. CAN I JUST SAY I LOVED ZENKICHI? I JUST LAUGH EVERYTIME HE’S ON SCREEN. I think... he might be my favorite P5 character, and that’s bad cause he’s a spin off character so who knows if he’ll ever get screen time again ORZ If there’s a P5 Arena with him, I’ll get it even though I’m not even a fan of fighting games Ol< Ironically enough, P5S made me feel closer to the P5 cast than P5 did. By the end of the game, I didn’t want it to end yet, and hoped that there’s a sequel T_T That aside, I don’t wanna spoil anything, so that’s all I have to say. If anyone knows cute fluffy family fanfics with Zenkichi, or just fanfics of him just hanging out with the Thieves (bonus if hilarity ensues), pls tell me. I need more content >_<
