Because of what's happening on Twitter...
I've made a little diagram to demonstrate why billionaires and the ultra-wealthy are bad for society.

Elon Musk has put the careers of thousands of small business owners who depend on Twitter (myself included) in jeopardy by completely running it into the ground. Before this, Mark Zuckerberg had already been doing the same when he started pursuing Metaverse, making Instagram and Facebook much more unusable for artists. Do I really need to go into other examples of CEOs and very normalised practise of wage theft?
Meanwhile, the UK currently has the richest Prime Minister in its history. What is this man doing with this wealth? Continuing the Tory legacy of austerity in order to line his pockets and the pockets of his crony friends. This has resulted in a devastating cost of living crisis that continues to ravage the country as people's energy bills skyrocket out of control.
My diagram is pretty basic and lacks nuance, there's definitely more I could elaborate on with this comparison but I really don't have time. I just want people to get the basic point of how billionaires view themselves vs what function they actually serve. I'm also not here to debate whether some organs are more important than others since I'm not a doctor, that's not really the point here. And no, I don't care if people think I'm being harsh by comparing billionaires to a tumour. If they don't want to be compared to one they should stop acting like one. Jeff Bezos could end world hunger right now and chooses not to.
Also, I know a lot of people are going to come at me with the argument that billionaires give away massive amounts of money. First off, people like Jeff Bezos only give large sums of money to charity a.) for the sake of improving their public image and b.) because giving to charity allows them to write it off in their taxes. Also, charities in of themselves have a lot of problems, but that's a blog post for another day. Mutual Aid is a better way to help people directly. Really, the ultra wealthy need to be taxed, of course they do everything within their power to avoid taxes.

"Earning a lot of money" and "holding onto a lot of money" are two different things. You cannot be a multi-millionaire unless you hold onto that money. If you give away massive chunks of it to enrich society, you cease to be a billionaire.

Being a billionaire is a moral failing. Nobody needs that much money.
[Slight edit here - I made the assertion that a billionaire could not spend all of their money in their lifetime, but as someone in the comments pointed out it's very easy for them to completely waste billions in no time. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have shown that].
Anyway, if you would like to see more anti-Capitalist art from me, I am currently working on a webcomic called "Flowerpunk" - a story about a group of anarchists who are trying to save the city of Wyrdon from a supernatural plague known as "the rot." The comic heavily discusses disaster Capitalism and how the rich will use mass death and destruction as an opportunity to further line their pockets.
I also like to do little anti-Capitalist doodles relating to this project, which I plan to make into posters at some point.

Uh, regarding Vogon "associating" with Eevee on Twitter, your screenshots are literally just her replying to his tweets. That doesn't mean he knows or is friends with her at all. It just means she follows his account. And regarding Eevee deadnaming Jolly....I'm going to be real Cohost probably closed the ticket because the reporters provided no proof that Joll was a deadname and Joll is just one letter off of Jolly. Banning someone because they use someone's deadname that's one letter off with no actual proof that it is a deadname or proof that the person being reported knew it was one would be jumping the gun and poor moderation. This is going to sound cruel, but even if Jolly themself and a friend vouched, it's Jolly vs Joll....surely you have to see how that looks. Proof would be...idk screenshots of messages dated before that talk about all of this.

Vogon privated his twitter, meaning any interactions on his part to her on that platform are no longer accessible, and likely not archived. In fact, a majority of the cohost devs have wiped their twitters.
Regardless, in the wayback machine, Vogon is shown to retweet Eevee in 2015, and in Eevee's discord server, she confirms that they were mutuals until 2022.

The mutual break could be for any reason, and shows they were amicable for at least a few years. This also shows that they generally run in the same social circles.
Banning someone because they use someone's deadname
The only one who mentioned banning Eevee for this is you. You understand there are other things cohost can respond with besides a ban, right?
Editing the post to no longer dead name Jolly, deleting the post, giving her a warning, for fucks sake I would have been satisfied if there were at least a reply that said "we will not act on this and here is why". But that's not what cohost did.
They didn't respond at all.
Despite different people, including the victim, making the report.
They're a moderation team. They're supposed to actually respond to tickets instead of ghosting them. That's their job that they are paid to do.
Regardless if they don’t deem the ticket's concern as one that's valid to act on, they're supposed to at least give a reason why. But they didn't. Why? To me, that says "because the reason we have to not act on this isn't actually reasonable."

The deadname was killed in 2020. Associates of Eevee have no issue not using Jolly's dead name, because Jolly had sent the community a letter that clarified that yes, they see that dead name as dead. There are people in the Floraverse discord server who even talked about it:

Eevee's post is in it of itself is in response to someone who pointed out her hypocrisy on what her community did to Jolly specifically when Eevee made a post about how it's 'never acceptable to tell anyone to kys' with Eevee's significant other saying this vile spew:

3 years of the name being dead, your significant other recognizing the dead name as a dead name, having a letter sent to your community that says "this is my deadname, don't use it" and the post in question being a response to a comment that mentioned Jolly specifically means Eevee has no reason, nor excuse to dead name Jolly.
I'm not even sure what way anyone could prove that it's a deadname if the victim going "she is talking about me and is using my deadname that she knows is dead" isn't considered proof.
This is going to sound cruel, but even if Jolly themself and a friend vouched, it's Jolly vs Joll
Jolly changed their name because of their suicide attempts. Surely you have to see how it looks to go 'Ah, tomayto, tomahto' over that you fucking cretin.
It's almost like no one has any idea why a person may kill off a name, and it's not their business to assume it's frivolous. It's no one's place nor right to go ":/ well....is it really a deadname?". If someone says their old name is a deadname, it's dead.
Any suggestion otherwise is just transphobic.
I also had no clue that deadnaming is acceptable if the names are "close enough" when you're making a post to justify your spouse's desire for the trans person in question to kill themselves! Wow! The more you know!!!!!

Milagro In-Depth (Part I): Beating, Beating Through the Apartment Door
I confess: Milagro is a very confusing, muddying episode for me. It took a lot of reflection on other people's thoughts, some script browsing, and too much contemplation to decide... hang it all, I'm just going to treat it like the show intended: a one-off that loosely ties into the overarching theme of Mulder and Scully's creeping romance. At least there was some clarity and needed follow-up in The Unnatural; otherwise, this episode-- while crucial to Scully's loneliness (though her reasons are misdiagnosed by Padgett)-- would feel strangely out of place and unnecessary.

We first see Padgett pacing his apartment, the rhythm of his heartbeat pulsating constantly in his ears. This will soon affect not only himself but also Scully, a symptom of living in denial of human wants and needs. For Scully it's her attraction to and need for more from Mulder; for Padgett it's confusion about himself and his desires, living this meager existence in complete silence while waiting for genius to strike and his life to make sense-- putting his ear to the wall (a subtle foreshadow for the next scene), staring out into the waxing and waning afternoon sun, smoking cigarettes only to aimlessly toss them away when they fail to distract him, and finally giving in to that incessant beat.

He doesn't understand it, or himself; so he seeks to puzzle out the minds of others, looking for clues to escape the maze of his own.
He leaves the apartment briefly, staring into the fiery furnace of the basement, his heart staring back at him tauntingly elusive.

Padgett meets Scully coming up from the basement; and Scully is creeped out by his unblinking gaze at herself (not yet intrigued enough to be flattered by so much direct attention.) She is further paranoid when Padgett follows her down the hallway, unrelentingly staring even as he opens his own door next to Mulder's.

It's only after Padgett walks through his apartment door that Mulder opens his own, apologizing over a mouth full of toothpaste (which he swallows down with a cup of coffee while slapping his toothbrush on the coffee table.)

Scully casually brings up Mulder's creepy new neighbor, their rapport established enough that her partner doesn't think twice about her carefully disinterested questions-- not even noticing her interest, or queueing in enough to comment on it.

"You met him?"
"Uh, briefly, yeah. He's a writer."
"What's he write?"
"He didn't say."
She is shaken by her encounter, but Mulder doesn't pick up on it.
This becomes the core 'conflict' between he and Scully: she craves his attention; but Mulder is so consumed by his work that he takes it for granted she knows how much he cares for and values her. Scully, however, doesn't feel prioritized or valued; and that hauls up her rebellious teen spirit (smoking her mother's pack on the porch or consorting with the enemy) to refocus her partner's gaze solely on her.
Mulder, meanwhile, looks tired: brushing his teeth late in the afternoon, drinking a cup of coffee, eyes sleepy and body hunched over.

The camera shifts back to Padgett (resting purposefully on his ashtray filled with new, barely smoked cigarettes-- an habit he'd picked up from his object of study) as he steps menacingly onto a chair to overhear through the apartment's mutual ventilation system. He listens as Scully rattles off the lack of evidence in their second murder case, his tension slowly decreasing.

The camera then does a purposeful second shift: Mulder rises into frame in front of the ventilation-- Padgett's top-down observation post-- cornering Scully over her disbelief in his psychic surgery theory. He is in his element: not the sleepy eye-ed version of himself when she'd first walked in the door, but a driven detective with passion in his eyes-- something he hadn't shown for Scully (other than a peppy greeting, ready for her results.)

Scully watches as her partner sits back down and launches into an attempt to fit the square peg of psychic surgery into the round hole of medicine, squashing a brief smile to sustain her serious point: "Well, medicine-- as you're referring to it-- is about keeping people alive."

Padgett listens as his muse remains unflustered by the lack of evidence: "Well crime is only as perfect as the man or the mind that commits it." He takes this as self-confirmation that Scully's mind is ready for him to start his advances, flattered by her description of his talents-- which he is confounded by-- and further cements this opinion with her follow-up sentence: "You find his motive and you find the murderer."
Padgett retreats, parceling through his own mind in another attempt to "find the murderer" and understand his own motive. His smoking habit follows him into bed where he lays, confused, overwhelmed, awed by his own thoughts. He then shoots out of bed and types up another murder scene, attempting to conjure Naciamento and try to study himself through the work of his hands. Another fruitless murder, another dead end. Sickened by the horrors of his own mind, Padgett groups together his papers in horrified silence.

Finding no answers in words or actions, he decides to ignore what he cannot understand, setting the stage to meet his oracle.
Scully answers the basement office phone, tense and business minded, and listens to Mulder detail the crime scene. She spares a moment for the deceased before quibbling with her partner's request for her medical explanation-- "I'm not sure I could."

Both are at a loss where to start for the case-- "Well, there's got to be something, Mulder"-- an opportune moment for her to observe a lone envelope sitting brazenly in the doorway.
While filling him in on this new development, Scully tears it open and dumps out the milagro charm: "It's some kind of a pendant. Like a charm."

It's at this moment that Padgett writes over her thoughts, spewing out prose as Scully is sucked down, down, down with the words he plants into her head while Mulder waits on the phone for more information.

Padgett writes: "It would be a plain face, an average face-- a face people would be prone to trust. She knew this inherently being naturally trusting herself. But the image she conjured up was no better than the useless sketch composites that littered her files. Preconsciously she knew this wasn't her strength as an investigator: she was a marshall of cold facts, quick to organize, connect, shuffle, reorder and synthesize their relative hard values into discreet categories. Imprecision would only invite sexist criticism: that she was soft, malleable, not up to her male counterparts."
Two incorrect assessments on Philip Padgett's part:
#1. Scully is not inherently trusting, repeating Mulder's "trust no one" back to him more times than not. Her trust is in systems, order, ranks, and routines; but she has seen too much corruption by season 6 to give that trust out blindly. But from the start, she has always been wary of individuals, second-guessing victim statements and motives from the beginning; and Padgett, having read her wrong, sets himself up for failure and disappointment with his planned romantic interlude. It was not trust or sexual interest that draws Scully to his place (though he tried to draw it out of her)-- Scully is drawn to attention like a moth to a flame, hence the milagro symbolism rampant throughout.
#2. "But the image she conjured up was no better than the useless sketch composites that littered her files" is a sentence directly from Padgett's mind: empty, staring at his notes all day, ready to strike at genius but lacking anywhere to start.
It's the theme of this episode: the waiting (queued by a striking absence of most of the musical score), the dysregulation of Padgett and Scully's thoughts (Mulder peeps into that disorder when he reads Padgett's 'novel' later), the fear of being known without knowing themselves and being left behind in solitude because of that misunderstanding.

But this is Scully: "Yet the compensatory respect she commanded only deepened the yearnings of her heart,--to let it open, to let someone in."
When Mulder arrives, fiddling with the charm and listening to Scully's description from reception, his first assumption is: "It came here for me?" And while that is a reasonable assumption, it is also his and Scully's first assumption-- harkening back to Never Again's lines that were unnecessarily drawn. He flicks it in the air, creating a tinkling sound in the stillness, and denies that this guy is the killer despite his partner's difference of opinion.

His mood drops, his jaw shifts before he replies, "Maybe it's not me at all," and adds (with too quick) cheerfulness, "maybe it's for you."
Scully pauses, but before she can sort her feelings, Mulder's remark-- "Maybe you've got a secret admirer"-- forces a startled chuff out of her. She tries to disguise her growing unease in surface-level huffery, a someone-would-annoy-me-that-way-wouldn't-they? cover that her partner, of course, doesn't see through...

...since he's already focused on the next bit of leg work he wants Scully to do-- without consulting her, of course.
But Scully is not in a stable mood today, feeling vulnerable, maneuvered, and dismissed. In an echo of Never Again, Scully pauses, offended and hurt; and plants boundaries: "Thank you for making my schedule, but I think I'm going to have to be late for that appointment."

Mulder's lack of emotional nuance has placed her back in the shaky and questioning territory of the Ed Jerse fiasco, feeling like an accessory to work rather than a valuable member of the team. Even further, the original script for Milagro notes that Scully has started unbuttoning her professional garb more than usual after hours with her partner, presumably in a last-ditch attempt to draw Mulder to her. When that doesn't work, she will use Padgett as he has used her partner's apartment, the murders, and the milagro, each waving their flags uselessly for the object of their affection's attentions. It's the ouroboros of Scully's existence, a cycle she has yet to break (I HIGHLY recommend @suitablyaggrieved's essay on the ouroboros, the cycle of grief and death and failure. Phenomenal.)
Mulder is struck that Scully leaves so suddenly, following her out with his eyes for the first time.

she is shadowed by a beating heart soon revealing itself to be Padgett. He seemingly steps from nowhere, as if conjured from Scully's mind, interrupting her mediation of the milagro and begins to relate his motives through a thinly veiled retelling (to Scully's initial confusion and increasing fear-- convulsively swallowing and shoulders tensing): "Christ came to Margaret Mary, his heart so inflamed with love that it was no longer able to contain its burning flames of charity.

Margaret Mary, so filled with divine love herself, asked the Lord to take her heart."
At that Scully swivels her head around, filled with premonition.

"And so he did. Placing it alongside his until it burned with the flames of passion." Padgett pauses, filling his soul with longing himself,

before continuing: "Then he restored it to Margaret Mary, sealing her wound with a touch of his blessed hand."
Scully is back to doubt, asking this strange man why he is there and answering a frank "Yes" to his own question ("You came here specifically to see this painting, didn't you?") Her terseness returns: "How did you know that?"
Padgett is delighted that Scully "knows" him, that she'd looked at him long enough to recognize him; but it's more telling that Scully still couches her relationship with Mulder as "somebody I work with" to outsiders.
"Why are you following me?"
"I'm not." Another pause. "I only imagined you'd come here today."
Scully looks away, squirming to get away as much as possible.

"I'm a writer. That's what I do: imagine how people behave."
Scully ceases all movement as the writer methodically details how he knew her beliefs by staring at her necklace, deduced her job by staring at her license, determined that she runs and where by staring at her calves, and combined all of it to predict her movements that day.

An interesting note: Padgett correctly guesses that Scully comes to the church "not as a place of worship, but because you have an appreciation or architecture and the arts."
The horrifying whole is complete when he reveals the milagro charm was from himself and that, he admits, he has "a secret attraction."

She sloughs off his mild apologies for excluding a note ("I'm sorry I didn't include a note explaining that, but you didn't know me then") with a reproof: "Yeah, and I don't know you now. And I don't care to." To his "I see this is making you uncomfortable", Scully raises her eyebrows in a shadow of her normal mockery; and to his "and I'm sorry. It's just that I'm taken with you" that she turns back, contemplating him in contempted curiosity. At his "That never happens to me", the contempt drops away to chilled fear, facing down another unstable person that has obsessed with her (a shadow of Pfaster.)

"We're alike that way," Padgett whispers.
Scully maintains a long look; then slowly and cautiously-- with both ears open in case she needs to flee-- walks away, Philip Padgett gazing after her in her wake.

Padgett the Avatar
Not only is Philip Padgett a darker version of the psychotic psychic in Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose-- creating deaths in a wandering journey of self-enlightenment-- Padgett is also a character that is a stand-in for many, many different and conflicting things: a creepy pervert who wants love, a character aware of his own meta themes, a personification for the zoned-out-zoned-in audience, a symptom of the people who spent hours writing a show about the truth while avoiding it in their real, humanly broken lives.
A cut line from the script (curtesy of @dunhamhairograpy) beats all of these ideas into one 'theme': Naciamento, fed up with Padgett's confusion, yells "No, no! You had it all right up to there. You were a tool of the truth. After all these years of misery and failure, you finally look deep into your heart and what do you get: ME! I am you, Padgett! I am all men. ...You sit here endlessly, waiting to tap into the truth. And when it arrives-- when I arrive-- you don't want to see it." This, of course, extends to Scully and trickles off onto Mulder: Scully is alone but doesn't want to face it. Why would she when her partner has avoided all serious attempts to do so, only confessing his love when something dire was happening? Mulder's not ready, may never be ready; and Scully's resigned herself to that fate-- "Loneliness is a choice"-- because she can't, won't lose him.
This leaves one Philip Padgett with a few realizations: he will never get the girl and he will never write the novel; but what he can do is offer his beating heart another way, as the benevolent god leaving a mark 'for the better' on the lives of those he's stirred up with strong emotions-- even if they weren't the emotions Padgett wanted to create. An artist will take legacy if he can't have love, no matter how selfish or damaging. A selfishly human desire mixed with heavenly self-sacrifice with hellish vainglory, a poor imitation of the milagro by a soon-to-be dead man on a dusty basement with his heart still in his hands.

Just rewatch the show dude. There’s no retconning on Belos. This post or the comments weren’t just about YOUR video they’re about the past TWO MONTHS of behavior from y’all that go along with the ideology you had in that video.
Dude, imagine being this confidently WRONG and then telling me to “rewatch the show dude.”
You go rewatch Hollow Mind, go rewatch Thanks to Them, because CLEARLY you didn't watch those two episodes. Go look at the storyboards cut from the s2 finale where Luz asks Belos “what do you think they DID to you?” only to have Belos’s gaze go sour because she hit an open wound. There was OBVIOUSLY a story that they had to cut last-minute because the show was shortened. Having something included in canon, even if it's just bits and pieces of it, rewarding the viewer for paying attention and using their brain, only to then have another character say last minute “oh, you were wasting your time, that was just put there for no good reason.” is taking something hinted at or depicted in canon and completely demolishing it or sweeping it under the rug to say something completely different is the DEFINITION OF RETCONNING.
Also—what fucking ideology am I showing? I'm not excusing his behavior, I don't pretend that Belos was in the right at all for what he did, I'm not blaming other characters for his actions, I'm not using the backstory WE WERE SHOWN IN THE SHOW to wave off his actions. All I said was that Belos was a “tragic villain” for what we were shown, but I'm not saying that being a tragic villain suddenly clears him of all the bullshit he did in his life. Tragic villains =/= guiltless ones.
Also, I don't think you know what Fanon is. Using things we got from canon and the MOUTH OF THE CREATOR HERSELF to piece together the most coherent story of events we can is not FANON. It's an attempt to understand CANON.
If you HONESTLY label me and my video as part of the “group” that you are talking about blocking, then I def don't think I believe that the majority of the people you blocked were Belos apologists and were probably just people who were having harmless fun having HCs with Belos and writing AU's and making art of him.
But, I'm never gonna get to find out because the fact that you came into MY VIDEO, probably didn't even WATCH the video based on how you responded to it in the comments, accused me and my mutuals of saying things we never said, and compared us to literal white supremacists, and then continued to act narratively illiterate tells me that you don't care about being right and giving facts, and there's no point in arguing with you any longer. Get blocked.

What fandoms do you write for? i used to write for the Hermitcraft fandom, but i've discontinued the one fic i started for it and moved on to The Magnus Archives. i've got a couple story ideas for other fandoms, but idk if they'll go anywhere.
What are your top five fics by kudos? well, i've only got four! but from most- to least-kudosed, there's: - Double Trouble (Hermitcraft, rated G, incomplete multichapter) - Know What Can't Be Shown, Feel What Can't Be Known (TMA, rated T, oneshot) - Time Enough to Spend Some Time Alone (TMA, rated T, oneshot) - Here, Nowhere, Somewhere With You (TMA, rated G, oneshot) and i'm totally not salty my two most kudosed fics are an incomplete work and something i posted at 3am, respectively.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? gotta say Time Enough, bc it's more refined than its predecessor, Know What Can't Be Shown (man i really need to stop giving my fics such long titles, i always end up shortening them when referring to them). but for reference, both are pre-Unknowing jmart kiss fics; it's a favored headcanon of mine. Time Enough also spends more time musing on how Jon and Martin are feeling—that is, they feel Bad. Absolutely Terrible. sad and scared, both for the Unknowing and for each other.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Here, Nowhere, Somewhere, absolutely. the ending itself is pretty open, but Jon and Martin have reunited post-MAG 200, admitted they still love each other after its events, and found themselves Somewhere Else. it's the most hopeful.
Do you get hate on fics? not yet, thankfully. i'm not a well-known enough author for that lol.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? i do not! and i doubt i ever will. props to everyone who does, though.
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? i don't really write crossovers, at least none i ever planned to publish, but i do have a couple fusion AUs in the works (that is, taking one story's premise and combining it w/the characters of another). and funnily enough, both are based on songs.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? i sure hope not.
Have you ever had a fic translated? no. though if someone offered to, i'd be honored!
Have you ever co-written a fic before? technically? a friend of mine and i made a couple AUs for a few different MCYT fandoms that never really went anywhere, but i've never co-authored something that's made it to publishing.
What's your all time favorite ship? probably jonmartin. i've read a ridiculous amount of fanfic for them, and i think pretty much all my WIPs feature it if both Jon and Martin are there (sometimes i'll make them queerplatonic, and sometimes they'll be part of a poly ship like jongerrymartin, but jmart tends to be pretty Do Not Separate in my mind lmao).
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? ages ago i was reading this one rom-com webcomic where two people wound up as roommates bc the landlord accidentally rented the single apartment to both of them, which i thought was a really cute premise, but then BAM there was some really awful transphobia in it. when called out in the comments, the author doubled down, so i snatched up the concept and decided "i'm gonna make this t4t out of SPITE." but uh i've found spite doesn't work very well as a fuel source for my work, and i can get the same awkward domesticity/mutual pining out of a safehouse fic, so it'll probably just stay buried in the WIPs folder.
What are your writing strengths? dialogue. or at least, making a character's dialogue sound like their voice. vocabulary, things like stammering or using filler words, cutting oneself off or pausing a bunch, that sort of thing. though sometimes the dialogue itself feels a little clunky. i also think i'm rather good at writing emotional scenes, especially once i'm in the editing stage of things.
What are your writing weaknesses? over-editing. my utter beloathed. i sometimes get really caught up in trying to make everything as clear as possible, when that just makes the work 5,000 words too long and takes way more time to do. i'm trying to be better about it.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i think it's neat! but if you're monolingual you should read up on writing bilingual/multilingual characters beforehand, don't just wing it.
First fandom you wrote for? probably Pokémon? i'm not entirely sure.
Favorite fic you've written? Time Enough, hands-down. (though uh, hypothetically, if i wanted to make some small edits to it, would it be weird to do so? especially seven months after posting? there's a handful of lines i wish i'd phrased a bit differently.)

I'm so happy to have your blog on my dash it has shown me that I'm not the only one struggling in the rpc. I feel like the rpc has fallen into a coma, people are so wrapped up in their own bubbles that they don't interact with each other anymore (it seems) like I'm so frustrated with tumblr at this point, I'm so sorry I just don't know what to do, it's really disheartening to have like 1k followers, writing an rp blog but no matter what you do, no one sends anything at all, no asks, no memes, no starters, nothing, it makes me sad and wonder if I have done something wrong? I checked the settings twice as to make sure asks are enabled and I try to regularly send the people on my dash things but now I'm questioning myself. Like why and how are so many people following me if it feels like they don't want to interact? Of course I know many of these are lurkers but not all? I'm so confused by this to be honest...
My Question is: Am I the only one who feels like that?
my lovely friend, let me tell you something. these feelings you’re having? we ALL have them at some point in our tumblr lives. it’s perfectly natural, there’s nothing wrong with them, much less with you for having them in the first place. you understand? i want to make that much clear before i continue, because i’m getting the impression that you might be trying to take on the blame and responsibility for other people’s actions, and that’s not close to being accurate, love, okay? you’re doing just fine! and now i’m going to go into a little detail on your message. but i don’t want you to read on unless you’re feeling solid and good about yourself again, because try as we might, we’re not responsible for other people. and you mentioned that you’re very active in your efforts to make people feel comfortable, so no. don’t go blaming yourself. you’re doing nothing wrong, my love, i promise.
NOW! i say as i slap my hands on my knees like a suburban dad in an american film! except not, bc my laptop’s there, but i digress. before i continue, i want to say that i’m only one person, my suggestions may not be applicable to you. if anyone reads this post, and would like to contribute their own suggestions, you’re all welcome to hop into the comments to help our lovely friend out! this is a sideblog, however, and i will not be able to interact with these comments directly!
the first thing that i’m going to say here is that 1,000 followers is a LOT of people. like that’s overwhelming to anyone, but i feel like it could also contribute to these feelings of isolation when you have a thousand people following you and nobody’s really reaching out. that’s why i would suggest that maybe you might feel better if you try and bring that number down? it’s like this; if you host a big party, realistically speaking, you won’t be able to invite a thousand guests. it’ll be next to impossible to have these intimate personal connections with one thousand individual people, right? but if we try, say, 500 people? instantly easier to handle, i think. personally i try to keep my own limit at 150 mutuals, because i’m oftentimes too tired and too stressed to handle the idea of much more than that, and it’s much fairer to 150 people than it is for 1000 people.  plus, those 150 people are far more likely to have solid friendships with me. i’m only one person, and so are you, and we can’t be pressuring ourselves into trying to interact with 1000 people!
in your case, this also applies. 1000 people is a LOT. if you bring the number down, perhaps then you can explain to people that you will be implementing a few changes in the way you do things. you want to plot with people. you want to develop solid relationships both OOC and IC. you also might find it useful to use an interest tracker or a permanent starter and plotting call, or a few open starters are also useful! 
i’m going to repeat something here. you are not responsible for other people’s actions. there are parts of the rpc that are withdrawing from the core purpose and values of the community, and the lack of interaction is a widespread challenge. it’s not their fault. it’s just something that’s happening. that being said, you can only control YOUR experience. which sounds powerless, but it’s actually entirely the opposite!
you can make that post and say what you expect to change in your blog. “i’ll be much more active in the rpc from now on, i’m here to make friends and write with like-minded people, and i’m going to be cleaning out my followers over the coming week. if you want to stay mutuals, please let me know, but i don’t want to stay mutuals unless we intend on building a solid friendship and writing together!”
you can obviously change the wording! be as nice or as blunt as you like! but try to be firm. your experiences of the dash are yours and yours alone. my suggestions might be worth nothing to you, and that’s more than okay too! but my earlier experience in the community was very much like yours in that i had about 500 mutuals, but it was so quiet and awkward that i may as well have had 0. it only changed when i brought the number down to 150, keeping my mutuals as people who i wanted to write with and befriend, and then posted a quick psa to let people know that i was planning on actually writing much more in the future, and i would be changing certain things in my blog to accommodate that.
you don’t have to do any of this, my love. you don’t have to soft block any followers, you don’t have to make a psa, you don’t have to do anything! my decisions came from a place when i was so frustrated by being stuck in the “nothingness”, or the “meh, idk, i don’t mind, idc” phase of the community, that i just decided to shift gears and change things. the way i see it, i could have 20,000 mute, withdrawn mutuals, but just one person who i genuinely loved to chat to and plot with and write with would outshine the lot of them! fortunately i found much more than just one person, though. and i know, i KNOW, you will too.

Love that you knew exactly who I was talking about.
Because I am stuck waiting for the dishwasher to finish I will post my Complaint untagged but I want people to know this was solicited. I'm not trying to provoke people with different interpretations.
Basically to each their own, and I know my read of the character trends toward the unsympathetic, but I am bewildered by assertions I see regularly that Kepler was broken up over or even fazed by Maxwell dying. When Jacobi gives his heartfelt eulogy, Kepler is making snide comments about only attending the funeral for the food. He complains about his hand ("Big deal. I just lost command of this station. I just lost a hand.") but noticeably does not complain about losing an entire human being. In Dirty Work once he realizes Jacobi is pissed about Maxwell's death, his response is incredulous: "After everything you've seen, you're still not over -." The idea that someone might still be grieving about their friend and teammate being shot in the head is so wild to him that he is blindsided by it.
And it's important that this is the case, because that's why Jacobi turns on him. If Kepler had shown any kind of remorse or sympathy, I honestly don't think Jacobi would've defected. Even at the very end, after Kepler has let him get puppeted around for two weeks and is allegedly cool with wiping out and replacing the human race, Jacobi is still willing to let him come crawling back if he would just say sorry. Belonging to a group and being part of something is important to Jacobi, and Kepler not turning a hair over Maxwell dying indicates that they were never valued as much as he thought they were. ("You treated me like one of them".)
I do think Kepler gives an atrophied fuck about what happens to Jacobi, albeit not enough that it does either of them any good in the end. But I do not think he gave much of a damn about Maxwell beyond her value as an asset, and tbh I suspect the feeling was mutual. Jacobi was there because he values group membership and validation. Maxwell valued the resources Goddard could provide; she didn't need pats on the head.

Your tags on that post are sooo true. I don't want to come off as mean about fanon either, but I just don't understand how Diavolo and Doppio are misinterpreted so much, especially in relation to each other. I know part of it is probably the anime's fault, but it's still like abundantly clear about stuff like Doppio's age and Diavolo only being Trish's dad. (The age thing gets to me especially – Doppio is explicitly called a kid/boy across all the translations I've seen, including the dub and at least one of the games. And he looks like a kid everywhere too!) I'm so glad to have a mutual who gets it so well! And just gets JoJo in general, it's nice.
I know I've been a tad repetitive about this, but the way I see it, I think the basis of all of the fanon misconceptions has to do with the fact that Doppio and Diavolo are ultimately intentionally confusing and vague characters. In that way, they do leave the door wide open for drastically different interpretations of their characters and also can potentially make them a bit difficult to comprehend.
Doppio's personality is hard to boil down into typical popular fanon archetypes in a way that keeps the spirit of the character because his personality is intentionally contradictory and changes on a dime. Their past is hard to digest because, not only does it radically change depending on the adaptation, but it's very vague and opens more questions than it does give answers or explanations. Because of that, I could understand how a lot of people could get muddled up in the details- even the ones that are made abundantly clear to us. (It's still a bit irritating, though.)
The anime adaptation also definitely didn't help with this, seeing as it made changes that opened up plot holes (if Doppio was the one to meet Donatella back then, how come he doesn't make any comment about recognizing her in the photograph Diavolo makes him take on his mission?) and outright completely altered details that lots of anime-only watchers will see and think is the only correct interpretation. (I've seen people assert that Doppio is the "original" one because "Well, why would a priest name a kid Devil?" when the manga explicitly states that their legal name was indeed Diavolo. Also, the "which one was the original?" debate being at the forefront of speculation about them irritates me too, but that's another thing.)
I definitely agree that the stuff going on with Doppio's age is by far the worst of it. Again, I understand that people have different interpretations of him, but God, I've literally gotten hate anons for even casually mentioning in passing that I think Doppio is a kid (one even accused me of "distorting canon to harass people" out of nowhere after just posting a bunch of headcanons I had...?) I've seen people with "fuck off if you think Doppio is a minor" in their bios. It's so weird and infinitely frustrating to me how hostile and stubborn people are about this- especially since, well... Personally, I really don't see how the matter is really all that unclear:

Body age and alter age are two different things, of course, and the body's age is 33, but it's made so obvious that Doppio's alter age is at least different from the body's (and even then, it's also stated and shown that when Doppio is fronting, he literally shifts into a visually younger body.)
I could talk a lot about how Doppio's age is symbolically important to Diavolo (isn't it interesting how Diavolo's biggest repeated crime is harm to children, but a part of himself is a child? Isn't it also interesting that he's kind to Doppio and praises him as his "number one" while he has a daughter that he tries to coldly murder and wishes was never born?) Removing that factor, I feel, takes something away from both of them. Interpret things how you want, but I don't understand getting angry and sending hate anons to people for interpreting Doppio as a kid, especially when the implications are this heavily and repeatedly shown.
And, if you excuse me ranting, it sucks so much and makes me so miserable to talk about because I just know for a fact that all of this hostility about Doppio's age is ultimately about shipping and fictional NSFW discourse. That topic already makes me super uncomfortable to talk about online, especially as a minor, and it sucks so much when I just want to talk about a character I'm attached to in the way I think is most accurate and get people baselessly accusing me of harassing people over it.
My apologies for that response being so long and getting a bit personal at the end, but alongside some other factors (fandom & canonical ableism being a big one, for example) that's basically how I feel. All of the misconceptions surrounding them make it almost impossible to talk about them without spending lots of time just debunking things first- because of that, I thank you for understanding so much. It's very frustrating.

A less Dramatic and more Reflective Diary Entry #?
I've been thinking about this person for some time. It is very fun to socialise with him for he has a very unique communication style and does not mind my quirks, which is the best part of socialising with him. First, I learned to put a good distance between me and the person I want to befriend, one that does not go under the person's skin and doesn't lead me to hyper-fixate on that person, and yet does not make me forget about that person's existence for days. I still have to work on those points, but recognising that those issues exist is already a big step in my journey towards peace. I am also learning to direct the flow of my energy as to keep the conversation engaging, which is something I find rather difficult, as I do not laugh at jokes at times even if I do find them to be funny and I get sick of conversations that are not interesting to me, such as those in which people tell you lots of lengthy stories of events that they consider funny, while I couldn't disagree any more. Still, bombarding the conversational partner with questions will not bring them much joy, especially if they prefer not to talk about themselves, like the individual I'm talking about. So, this is another balance I reach to have balanced relationships. The last point might just be the most important one to keep peace with the other person you wish to have a healthy relationship with – do not judge their values or lack of those nor the actions that result from those convictions (read my note at the end before you comment anything plz). I firmly believe that we have all been in a position in which whatever circumstance that existed within us or in our environment has led us to believe or do things we would rather forget and that, to advance in our journey towards peace, first must first accept ourselves and those around us. Acceptance only takes one form – love to one another. And this by no means means that one should love the self-destructive thought or behaviour patterns of oneself or others, but that one ought to separate person from deed and soul from thought. Love the person and the soul first and foremost, and to maintain a balance in relationships will become much easier. Of course I am not only talking about romantic but also platonic love, as is the case in my relationship with the person I'm relating to you about.
That would be all about my little (positive) rant on learning about socialising, and so I will merely add the fact that speaking your truth always leads to a fun 'omg, me too!' moment, which has been really fun to experience with him. I think we might share some quirks and I love quirks!
Note: I do not aim to belittle the consequences of a person's actions, as they can cause trauma, which should never be belittled either, what I had in mind was the self-destructive side of a person's behaviour. Such self harming actions should of course be taken seriously too, but in order to change anything about those self harming behaviours, one must show that person understanding and acceptance, which can only be shown in the form of love.
When it comes to actions that affect others, I believe that, as long as it doesn't have a severe impact such as trauma, a mutual understanding can be reached. In other words, love and empathy is key for the well-being of both in the relationship.

A Rant About Nice Young Ladies and DMs
As usually happens when I am scrolling through tumblr a picture caught my attention today. I stopped to take a look and it turned out to be a selfie posted by a newer mutual. It showed the young woman from just below the nose to mid way down her chest. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it does show that she is probably very attractive.
Me being a helpless flirt I decided to pay her a compliment. I tried to think of something to say more than just that is was a nice picture. Everything that came to mind sounded kind of sketchy when I said it to myself and took into account I'm a stranger. She's been following me for a bit so I am sure she has seen what I write, but that doesn't mean I can talk to her like that, so I didn't.
in the end I did just tell her it was a nice pic, and me being me I confessed I couldn't think of anything else that didn't sound creepy. We ended up having a nice little conversation that sadly included her telling me about how many just horribly rude comments she got in her DMs. She said it was about 50/50 nice, polite and rude, nasty. It's gnawed at me since and I just have to say something.
What the fuck is wrong with you guys out there?
Seriously it's not hard to be polite to women, or any one else for that mater. Believe me it's not that I didn't think of the rude nasty comments. My favorite hobby is writing erotica that usually centers on power exchange and mild humiliation so I am pretty good at rude and nasty. It is pretty much a reflex for me to go through a picture and mentally go over how I would describe it in as vivid erotic detail as I can.
This young ladies picture was no different. From her full sensuous lips, along the angle of her jawline, down the sweep of her neck to the eye pleasingly ample cleavage and how her dark hair hung like a shadow down her shoulders I thought of how I would write her. Yes, I thought of how she would react to teeth dragging lightly along her jaw. I pictured rough hands on her throat and twisting in her hair. Those inviting lips stretch around a thick shaft as drool dripped onto her full breasts. All this and more shot through my mind in seconds, but I was never tempted to say any of it to her.
I couldn't even bring myself to say even mild things about about her mouth or breasts and those were pretty much all that was being shown. All I could do was say "Nice Picture" to not feel like I was a creep. Why? Because I knew anything else was out of line. There is a long list of young ladies I know on here that if they posted that picture I could say damn near anything I wanted and they would love it. The important part of that sentence is I know them. I know who likes to be called whore or slut, or have explicit comments made about them. This young ladies blog is explicit but I hadn't seen anything inviting me to make those kinds of comments to her and I find it baffling how anyone thinks it's okay.
There are ladies out their who invite strangers to talk to them that way, go find them. It's not hard. Just like it's not hard to not verbally assault someone you don't know. It doesn't mater if they post a picture showing off parts of their bodies or not. Until you know the person on the other end of the internet from you keep your dirty mind to yourself. Until you know them and that they want to hear something like that from you, Then and only then, have at it.
Oh I even let the young lady know I would be writing this even though I wasn't naming her. Why? Because it is the respectful thing to do.

What is the problem with Bori?
An impossible ship with a lot of potential.

Before we start with the post, I want to apologize in advance if there are things that are not clear enough and aren’t written in the proper way. I’m a Spanish speaker looking to improve her English.
So... I recently saw Victorious again, and I wanted to write about this ship because at the time it was one of my biggest obsessions in the series and although today it is still my OTP, now I can better understand why this ship doesn’t it could be made canon.
I really think that Dan Schneider considered the possibility of making Tori couple of Beck, there was a lot of chemistry between them (in part I blame Avan and Vitoria for that) and little clues that made us consider that they were the typical ship that they would stay yes or yes together. This idea grew even more when Beck breaks up with Jade in the first chapters of season three and we see him so close to Tori. All of Bori Shippers went crazy in the episode of “Tori Goes Platinum” when they almost kissed and we were disappointed when this long awaited moment didn't happen.

Personally, I consider that this ship had a lot of potential because it would be based on a solid friendship, both could evolve into a healthy couple that would give each other the necessary support to achieve their respective goals and, unlike Bade, they wouldn't fight every 5 minutes for silly things. I think it was pretty obvious in the series that Beck wanted to be with Tori as more than a friend and that he even like it much more that idea than her; Beck was always a defender of Tori, he supported her and took care of her, in the chapter of "Tori Goes Platinum" he was the one who realized that Tori was forced by Mason to act that way and later it is he who tries to kiss her again, but she walks away. In short, I really am convinced that Beck had a crush on her.
And I also consider that Tori had feelings for him but is never given the opportunity to explore those feelings because, simply ... Tori Vega is a good friend. Even though Jade is mean to her, Tori considers her a friend and it's a great action to swallow any feelings for a guy when this is a friend's ex-boyfriend.

I have read many comments that treat Beck and Tori as the worst characters in the series for almost kissing on that occasion, which seems totally unfair; first of all we are talking about teenagers, Tori had spent too much time frustrated when she fulfilled Mason's requirements to sing at the Platinum Awards, she was being left alone and she couldn't tell anyone what was really going on. And then Beck realized on his own, she was relieved that someone knew it wasn't her who was behaving that way, and he was sweet to her at the time... They literally put both teenage characters in a scene where they were both incredibly comfortable with each other, where Tori felt a refuge in Beck and where he was first aware of the crush he felt for his friend.
If Tori's mom hadn't come in right then and they'd kissed, I'm sure Tori would have shown how sorry and guilty she would feel for doing that to Jade. And that would have made Beck feel the same way, we are talking about the most understanding character among the seven protagonists, Beck is always willing to listen and would never do something that would make someone else uncomfortable on purpose, he is the most patient character and proof of that it's how much he put up with Jade's toxic attitude during his relationship with her. He even showed how understanding he is when the second time he tries to kiss Tori, and she explains him the reason why that can't happen between them.

And to all this ... the kiss is never given anyway. And many point to Beck as the bad guy for having tried to kiss her later, but I repeat ... we are talking about characters who are teenagers; any 16-17 year old boy who discovers that he has feelings for a friend who showed for a moment that she felt the same way as him, would be motivated to try again, would be curious to know what would feel to kiss her and that is one of the most adolescent attitudes that may exist. Beck and Tori are not the worst in the world for almost having kissed, they are teenagers with feelings for each other who don't get to explore because Jade is important to both of them.
And how am I so sure about that? Because if they both didn't care about what Jade felt seeing them together, then something would definitely have happened between them. Beck once points out that he loves Jade as his friend and that he wouldn't do anything to hurt her, and we know that Tori considers her a friend no matter how bad she may be to her. It is because of the affection that both feel towards her that this ship becomes impossible regardless of the incredible potential they have, regardless of the chemistry and mutual feelings –which are quite obvious–. And as the series progresses it is a forgotten matter, we can see Tori and Beck having the same union as always but slightly different, because they are friends and they are sure that they will never cross that line because they would never hurt Jade.

I think the only way they could have become canon is if Jade would talk to Tori about what she saw and that she to accept that they were together, with her approval, they might have felt the freedom to explore those feelings and find out if they worked or not. But it wasn't like this and it wasn't close to being either, at the end writters really give us to understand that Jade and Beck are for each other (she scares boys less than Beck, and he likes girls who pose a challenge as Jade). When I was little I couldn't understand this, I couldn't tell that Beck and Tori's relationship was platonic and that it was a great example that the friendship between a boy and a girl is real without the need to become romantic.

Currently I would have liked Bori to become canon? Definitely, they are still my OTP and although I’m now able to understand how the dynamics worked in this little love triangle, I wish Beck and Tori had explored the feelings that at some point they had for each other (because there were definitely feelings between them). But finally we are talking about a teenage comedy series produced by Nickelodeon, whose central themes don’t involve the love of a couple as such, but rather the love of friendship and the importance of it.

I love it. This is what I meant about Simon's friends egging him on. Just the same way as Sonya's friends were obviously egging her on.
First we have the part where Simon is completely in the right, and totally justified in everything he does:
He was kind in situations where most human beings I know would’ve turned cruel. He gives people time, respect, attention and help in every possible way without asking for anything in return.
Obviously Fluffy Pink Whale is willing to overlook that Simon, by his own admission, doesn't ask for nothing in return. He has flat out stated that he expects to be treated with respect by his followers but he will only treat them "according to their actions". And we've seen plenty of times where he's been outright hostile to people because of his assumptions about them.
Nothing about this is equal, and the only reason Fluffy Pink Whale thinks there is, is because they're in the clique.
I don't know what Simon did to make Fluffy Pink Whale think he was a respectful person, or a kind person. He doesn't strike me as either of those things, rather the opposite. But I do believe that's what they think.
I think this post is a great example of the black-and-white thinking Simon's followers engage in, because the person who sent that ask did NOT criticise Simon - unless you think saying that he's lying is an implicit criticism - but Simon's "friends" stepped up to bat for him anyway.
You’ve shown who you are. You’re trying to tear apart friendships based on mutual trust, because you hate a person. A person who, as you admit, you don’t know at all, because you assume they’re lying.
This is what I mean. There's no emotional language in the ask. We don't know what the asker thinks of Simon, only that they don't believe he's a monster, assuming they were inspired to ask by my post.
Even if they weren't inspired by my post, Simon himself says you are free to remain sceptical on his own FAQ. If he is lying about nothing else, he says you are allowed to believe he is lying about at least one thing.
There's also no evidence that this person is attempting to tear apart friendships. I can see how friendships might be collateral damage, but it's supremely self-centred to assume someone asking for someone's point of view on the subject is doing so with the ulterior motive of making you distrust them.
Even when I write about how untrustworthy Simon is, it's not because I want him to lose friends, or for Kristina to lose friends. It's because I'm interested in the dynamics I see playing out.

Again, there's no evidence here about how that asker feels about Simon, but because they said something unflattering about him (that he lies), Fluffy Pink Whale needs to accuse them of hating him.
There's this propaganda technique where if you say the same thing about someone enough, people will believe it, and Simon & Pals are really good at using it.
Fluffy Pink Whale has also picked up on Simon's jargon around gaslighting and abuse. They know if they accuse the asker of doing those things, it will give Simon more fodder for his rants.
And it's possible they are trying to trigger Simon into going off on one of those rants again, because that's what of people seem to follow Simon for. They love when he loses his shit.
That's the other side of these "friendships". Simon wants to be treated with "respect" but only treats people with respect if they "behave". Basically he sees his friends as unruly children. But his friends see him as a source of entertainment, and they spend their time in his comments, dropping my blog's name, winding him up, hoping he'll get angry enough to go off. I imagine it gives them a bit of an adrenalin rush, commenting on his posts and hoping it'll trigger an unhinged rant.
That is cruel and abusive.

It’s a choice I made because he was there and saw me and listened when other “friends”, whose faces I know, turned them away. He was kind in situations where most human beings I know would’ve turned cruel. He gives people time, respect, attention and help in every possible way without asking for anything in return. Which is what makes me feel safe to give to him without asking for anything in return.
This is what trust means. It means feeling safe enough to show and give a person something because you have every reason to assume that they will treat what you give and show them with respect. I wonder how many friends one finds with that attitude. How much trust one will ever receive. It’s a bad place to be in, I imagine. I’m not even angry at you. Your life must be so hollow. And so envious. I hope it gets filled with trust and friendship so you will be able to live with yourself, without trying to sabotage relationships you know nothing about.

I'm also very bad at picking favourites in The Untamed. There are just so many contenders!! But I think lwj and wwx might be at the very top for me. I think I relate a lot to lwj too! I'm usually silent and seem closed off and unemotional until people know me. When I was younger, people have called me expressionless or commented on how I never smiled. And I relate to having grown up with strict rules and struggling to figure out how to navigate the world when you realise that those rules don't work.
I do agree with you about how xue yang might have turned out if he'd had more sympathy and compassion shown to him as a child. I do pity xue yang's, jiggy's and su she's circumstances for the same reason although I could never forgive their actions.
What are your favourite tropes, situations and scenes to read fanfiction about? I really enjoy canon compliant getting together fics, and friends to lovers, and YEARNING (and a lot more but these are the ones I seem to end up reading most). Oh and anything where the female characters get to survive, kick ass and live happily ever after.

oh yeah we all went last year on my dad’s birthday, so it was almost a year ago exactly now, wow, time 🛫 they’re such good dancers and seem rly sweet too :(( i can totally see how you’d fall in love w/ jun; he kind of closed his fingers around everyone’s hands in the hi-touch for a moment instead of just doing a brisk high five 🤧
i decided to let myself double bias donghun and chan after the concert, bc there was this moment when we were standing in line for the hi-touch where i was rly sure DH looked right at me?? it’s possible he was looking at the ppl around me too, but like it felt like he was looking right at me. plus we share a bday so like omg fate?? but then chan’s such a qt pie and he literally covered “do you wanna build a snowman?” like how could i not love him?? but yeah all the members are great :’) i haven’t seen that vid yet but i’ll keep it in mind~!

I'm VERY VERY new to the fandom... and to Sheith... and I have NO IDEA what half of those quotes are from or are referring to. Can you help me out with some of them??? No-one I know ships Sheith so I don't know who else to ask!

So I’ll break down the quotes the best I can for ya! Some of them are a little older and it might be a bit difficult to pull up the information for that. If anyone out there knows anything I’m missing better or has a link, etc, please feel free to share that with this post!

SHEITH QUOTE MASTER POST

This quote comes from S01:E01 - The Rise of Voltron. It’s the first moment in which Keith and Shiro share dialogue together. Especially based on everything leading up to it, (Check out my post here for more on that), the tone here is very gentle. There is almost a hushed quiet to it, like you’re looking in on a private moment not meant for your eyes. There was something very sweet about it that just stuck around.
It’s killing me when you are away

So this is a really interesting one that I don’t believe was every officially confirmed by the team behind the show (someone correct me if I’m wrong here!) but a bunch of very dedicated fans picked this one apart into something that stuck with us ‘till the end.
Again in  S01:E01 - The Rise of Voltron, we find this nearly directly after the quote above. When Keith takes Shiro and the other Paladins inside his Cabin, he shows them a bunch of notes, pictures, and assortments of other knowledge he has collected over his years alone, which led to him finding the Blue Lion’s location. However, while he is explaining his notes to everyone, there are glimpses of little sticky notes on his board. Fans looked these over to see if there was anything one these notes that was legible and this led to a really awesome post that you can view here.
The main conclusion was based on the lyrics from “Sugar” by Maroon 5, in which the words are
“I just wanna be deep in your loveAnd it’s killing me when you’re awayOoh, baby “
And the theory is that the note says“Just wanna be ‘something’ and it’s killing me when you’re away”
The something part implying that either A) Keith forgot the lines, B) The lines are a bit NSFW and so were changed slightly, C) Little column A & B? Keith was a little embarrassed and shortened it a bit.
This is all further supported when we’ve seen time and time again how much Keith adores Shiro and when we found out that Keith waited TWO YEARS on hopes and prayers waiting on his friend to come back. That would kill me too…
Shiro loves you baby / #He’s looking at Keith

This amazing piece came straight from Chris Palmer, one of the awesome story artists for Voltron. He posted this image with the words “Shiro loves you baby.” and one of his hashtags was #he’s looking at keith.

This, of course, made most of us explode with happiness. Not only was it freaking adorable, it told us that more of the people behind the scenes were quite possibly as invested and/or becoming as invested as many of us were with Sheith (A term which Josh Keaton himself stated he would like to coin for the ship pairing if it hadn’t been claimed already)
Many of the people who work on Voltron have posted something Sheith related. It’s a little hard to pull out specific pieces now as a lot of news and discourse has buried a lot of the original posts, but we’ve been very blessed. We’ve had official fan art, team members favouriting and commenting on fan art and lots of little snippets here and there that hinted that this was very possibly going to be canon.
Just like in The Legend of Korra, Korrasami became a thing later in the show. It was stated (I do not have a specific reference for this, mind you) that while the ship wasn’t originally intended, as the characters grew together with the show, the audience/fandom and with the team creating it, it just blossomed and the characters built a life they never expected. Oh, and many of those same people are working on Voltron~

Straight from the spunky and lovable voice actor for Pidge, Bex Taylor-Klaus posted this while watching Keith find Shiro for the first time in ages in S01:E01 - The Rise of Voltron. Of course, we were quite excited to see this.

Patience Yields Focus

This is a phrase that pops up quite a bit through the series. Each time delivered from Shiro as though this has been advice he’s given to Keith over and over, probably beginning from back when he worked with Keith in the Garrison. While it’s a lovely and wise quote all on it’s own, it’s most notable because of:

This scene. In S02:E1: Across the Universe, Keith brings this up as he is searching for Shiro to come to his friend’s aid. When he hears Keith use this line, Shiro’s asks “That really stayed with you didn’t it?” His tone and expression implying that this meant quite a lot to him. THIS then led immediately to our next awesome quote:

Immediately following Shiro’s amused surprise that Keith kept his wisdom with him for so long, Keith replies with this. From what we know, Shiro has been Keith’s mentor, best friend, sole supporter, and guiding light for as long as he’s known him. Even if it had never been meant to be romantic, the sheer warmth in Keith’s tone reveals a deep affection for just how important in his life Shiro has been to him.

Forced to take the reigns of the Black Lion to keep Team Voltron going, Keith utters this vow before he charges in. Giving the touching moments leading to him taking up of mantle of the Head of Voltron, the fact that everything he does in what he rightfully believes is Shiro’s place, he does for Shiro is heartbreakingly touching. No matter what, Shiro is never far from Keith’s thoughts and he guides his actions from his heart.
Shiro is the one person who never gave up on me. I won’t give up on him.

Facing the loss of his best friend yet again, Keith dedicates himself to finding Shiro who had been lost to the vastness of space at the end of the epic showdown with the villain Zarkon from S02:E13- Blackout and said this line in S03:E01 - Changing of the Guard. Heartbroken, Keith sees the other Paladins of Voltron working their hardest to move on even without Shiro at their fore, and in his pain he assumes they’ve forgotten him. When Princess Allura suggests that it is finally time that they look for a new Black Paladin, Keith staunchly refuses to even consider the idea and lashes out. While we’ve seen many hints at just how important Shiro is to Keith, hearing something so honest and direct was very sobering. As this thankfully worked out in the end, it’s less somber than it was, though no less meaningful.

In S02:E08- The Blade of Marmora, Keith undergoes a trial as the result of the Galra fighters discovering that Keith himself owns a Galra blade having once belonged to one of their own. The trial is as much physically brutal and exhausting as it is mentally so. Watching over the trial, the leader explains to Shiro that the suit Keith wears will put him through another part of the trial, showing his greatest hopes and fears. With this quote, it was revealed just how deeply Keith adored Shiro and just how much he feared abandonment from him. When the false Shiro hologram turns his back on him, Keith is prepared to give up everything to keep him from leaving, even if that means losing his chance to discover his past. The word ‘desperately’ really struck a chord along with the rest of the episode, showing just how unwavering Keith’s commitment to Shiro was. And when the real Shiro came to Keith’s side, prepared to fight off the entirety of the Blades to see his friend to safety, we knew the feeling was mutual.

S03:E06 - Tailing a Comet -When a wounded, exhausted, confused, and demoralized Shiro is finally brought back after his mysterious disappearance he shares another quietly intimate moment with Keith. Checking up on his friend’s wellbeing, Keith tells him that the rest of the team would love to see them when he is able, the silence that follows feeling heavy with words he won’t add to it. When he finally turns to leave, Shiro somberly asks Keith just how many times he will have to save him before their fight is finally over. After a quiet pause, Keith smiles and answers him. “As man times as it takes.”
This was actually the quote that inspired me to finally work over my shyness and make a blog. I had been silently rooting for Sheith in the background for ages. But this just really tipped me over the edge. Keith and Shiro’s relationship was never loudly proclaimed or thrown around with flowers and parades. It was this quiet constant, that was always present. They had been through so much together and through countless battles, loss and struggles, their unwavering and mutual commitment to each other was honestly humbling. And that made this scene / quote all the more special for it.

Ohhhh boy, we got a lot from S06:E05 - The Black Paladins. When Kuron, the clone of Shiro who is essentially Shiro in nearly every aspect is controlled by Haggar in an attempt to rid their presence through mutual destruction, we are treated to some of the most heartwrenching scenes we have seen throughout the entire series.
Forced to fight his beloved friend in what could have been a fight to the death, Keith never once gives up on him.
In an attempt to shake Shiro out of his mind control, Keith reminds him of the promise he made to Keith long ago.

I don’t think I’d ever seen a love triumphs over evil trope so potently built up and displayed. With an absolutely heartbreaking performance, Steven Yeun had most of us staring dumbfounded at the tv/monitor wondering if we had just hallucinated. I personally have watched this over and over and even after the millionth time it still makes my chest ache. At the very end of his rope and facing destruction at the hands of his most beloved friend in the whole universe, Keith bares his heart and we mourned with him just as much as we celebrated something so beautiful.
I will never give up on you, but more importantly, you can’t give up on yourself

When Keith and Shiro are falling to what appears to be their demise, we see something that most of us has been excitedly imagining for years. It’s been clear how important Shiro has been to Keith all his life, especially at the Garrison and there are so many amazing headcanons, comics, and other gorgeous pieces of art depicting what the fans have dreamed up to their lives before Voltron. All we know is that something powerful and meaningful had to happen to inspire so much loyalty and love from someone like Keith. During this scene we see Shiro offer his vow of his own commitment, but also of how important he finds it for Keith to believe in himself as well. This has been a constant theme between the two since the first episode. And seeing this sent most of us into a whole new wave of tears after the initial shock of “I love you.”

S06:E06 - All Good Things. With multiple threats ended, the ultimate sacrifice of the Castle of Lions to save the universe and the knowledge that Shiro’s spirit has been in the Black Lion and that we’re left with the fading body of the clone that fought Keith, all things seem to be hanging on a thread. But with the clone essentially being Shiro with the exception of the mind control and Shiro’s spirit still without a body, Allura demonstrates the amazing and mystic power of her Altean heritage and recovers Shiro’s spirit, placing it inside the clones body and finally uniting them body, soul, mind, and memories all together into a single entity. Calling back all the way to Season 3 when Keith vehemently vowed that he would find Shiro, to when he breathlessly whispered “you found him” to the Black Lion when Kuron was fading in his dying breaths, Shiro brings everything back full circle. Cradled in Keith’s arms, Shiro leans into him and softly tells him. “You found me.”
Cue the crying all over again.
You’re Everything to Me
And after this long and wonderful journey, we’ve received yet another beautiful quote from the team. In an interview with the Main Story Editor Josh Hamilton today from the Let’s Voltron official podcast. He quotes:
Q: So a lot of people were asking, he says “you’re my brother.” A lot of people were saying is that literal brother or is that just a you know, brotherly figure?
JH: It’s–a lot of the time the words don’t matter, it’s like the way you say it. You know what I mean? It’s like, he says you’re my brother, you know, and when he does eventually say “I love you,” those words matter. It’s like “you know you’re my brother, you’re everything to me.” You know, that brotherly love. So it’s hard for him. But no, literally? I hope I’m not spoiling anything, but no.

I think that says it all here. What a gift. I know that scene in the Black Paladins meant a lot to many of us. But hearing this just left me absolutely speechless. In the best of ways. Tears of victory!
And with the hint that we will be finding out more about Shiro and Keith’s past in the Garrison along with all of the events leading up to here, you can bet we’re all eagerly awaiting what we’ll see in Season 7.
But man, it’s been so, so worth it. For many of us, these two mean so much more than just a simple story. And that in it of itself is quite the gift.
