The Big City's meat vendors were damn near extorting Little Town a few years back. But, with April's mining skills there's no need to look for meat elsewhere! Background: Her mom ditched her and her dad when she was little for the Big City after getting scouted by a talent agency. After that Linda made a vow to never leave Little Town's borders, and she's held it perfectly. It didn't take much, being so young and full of new ideas made her win her first election in a landslide. Sure there's been competitors here and there but that's nothing The Forest or The Thing in The Lake can't handle

Omg lmaoo every day I see yall slide into my dms and I'm like 'ok, how close much can I infodump about my insane little ocs before I spoiler my own story XD'

I think...I shall give you a little sliver of an excerpt from their meeting fic/chapter (haven't decided yet if it's going to be its own thing, or if it will just be a non-Charlie pov chapter yet):

The water was more than mud and rain. In the back of his throat, he can taste blood, but God only knew if that was from coughing up bits of his insides when the gas hit, or if it was the gaping, seeping wound the shrapnel had left.

At least it's not raining now, Fen thinks, staring up from his twisted position. The stars, Lord bless them all, were out and shining brighter than he thinks he's ever seen them.

It figures, one could only find this beauty at the bottom of a trench.

And it is because the sky is so clear, and the stars so vivid, and the moon hiding behind her black veil this time of the month, that he sees the outline of a figure pass over them, at the top of the embankment wall.

Jen and Fen were both single when they met. The both of them probably knew by the point they were embraced that they...likely were never going to be men who married. 'Life-long bachelors', a nice way to say it (and in those days, plausible deniability...) Jen especially, given that he was living in rural Appalachia when he was alive (I'm thinking West Virginia, the heart of the coal mining industry in America even today). Their families knew nothing of their preferences towards the same sex, given that sex at all was wasn't discussed outside of what was totally necessary.

One of my ocs has had a child, and was married before they became a Kindred. It's a rather large point of contention in their backstory, but oh, I shan't say who ;>

As far as neurodivergence goes, if you weren't before you were embraced, well buddy, get fuckin ready for THAT experience afterwards lmao. But more practically, yes, I do. My first ever vtm oc Rigby Bennet the Malkavian was schizoaffective and likely on the autism spectrum before being embraced, but had managed to do some university schooling before he met his sire...and things went downhill... I think Nos, Malks, and Gangrel tend to pull from the 'looked over' branches of society, knowing that it could be a chance at a new life, even a reprieve in some ways from the harshness of mainstream society. Not to mention, they're already seen as on the fringes of even Kindred society. I think certain clans tend to group together, even going so far as cohabitating in certain cases. Zephyr has what the others refer to as 'her Malks' which is that she specifically cultivates relations in the local Malk clan of the city. She enjoys hanging out with them, and hey, even disjointed information is still information.

This is also a whole other rant I could go on, but I think in a sense, some clans handle the fact that neurodivergence doesn't magically go away with Embrace, or that is exists at all, better than others.

Very interesting story! I really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing! I'm glad it had a happy ending, even if poor Dailen didn't make it.

Sadly, Alfiel's experience is a common one in Evangelite lands. Kelvingyard slavers are known to venture across the border and snatch people from foreign lands. Especially from their greatest enemy, Folkvar Kingdom...

Linde had a similar experience to Alfiel here, in which a rich Evangelite man commissioned slavers to bring him an albino slave. Some wealthy Evangelites are into "designer slave collecting", a pathetic hobby in which they buy slaves with unusual qualities such as skin conditions, deformities, etc.

Some of these collectors fixate on certain conditions, perhaps owning many slaves with the same qualities. I imagine the one who wanted Linde probably collected albino slaves, since it's such a specific request. Since they can be rare and expensive, designer slaves usually aren't assigned grunt work like other slaves. They just roam around the master's property as a display of wealth. Sometimes they are taught to dance, play instruments, or otherwise entertain guests. But it's still a degrading and oppressive existence that no one should have to live.

I could definitely imagine some wealthy Evangelite being interested in a slave with vitiligo. It's also not hard to imagine a werewolf-hunter being corrupt and infecting people with lycanthropy on purpose...many such "heroes" are corrupt like this, such as the Peoples Protection League, who "protect" people from monsters but secretly encourage divines to make more.

Anyway thanks again for sharing this story, I think it fits right in with the lore!

Holaa, han pasado un par de cosas que la verdad no me esperaba en general.

De primeras, me lo pasé increíble en los mogollones, simplemente me mentalicé desde el principio que no me lo iba a pasar mal, porque si pienso así, muy seguramente me bloquee muy fácilmente y termine aburrido af, así que simplemente dejé que la cosa fluyera. Primero fuimos a casa de Javi, muy aleatorio todo, y luego fuimos detrás de las carrozas, yo estaba medio tenso porque el alcohol no me subía!!! pero bueno... yo confié en el proceso. De repente ya estabamos por Los Salesianos, yo hablando con Goyo y PABLO!!!! bufff what a moment to be alive. Con Goyo hablé de Kim Petras, Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek y de Arca (por el culoooo!!!) siempre sienta TAN bien hablar con alguien de gustos musicales (y más si son alternativos) y con Pablo resolví dudas, me dijo que el pedazo de ghosting que me hizo no era a malas, simplemente no estaba en una buena época supongo (no me parece excusa pero ok xd) porque la verdad que me hubiese valido aunque me hubiese escrito dos meses más tarde sabiendo que me abrí en canal joder! pero bueno... Por fin ese tema lo tengo zanjado y le dije mil veces que al día siguiente le iba a hablar y pista: no le hablé xd, simplemente no tenía ganas y estoy a gusto con cómo ha quedado la cosa.

Otro tema aparte, estoy hablando con un pibe llamado Miguel que parece que la cosa fluye (entre muchas comillas) porque el pobre muy bueno sacando tema de conversación no es la verdad, pero nos mandamos un par de fotopollas y yo creo que la cosa en ese ámbito al menos puede ir bien, y pues he pensado si eso hacer cosas con él y tal. De momento voy a quedar primero con él, a ver si me atrae la cosa fluye más o menos y a ver como va yendo la cosa.

2024 viene fuerte menos mal hay actividad en mi vida qué fuerte!!!

The date is Tuesday, July 25th. I just got done working a shift at an East Side 7 eleven. Probably the busiest 7 eleven of the east side since it’s on your way to the 95. Minimum wage. I’m on day 16 of my challenge. Visually there are no significant changes… although I am very active. I’m averaging over 10,000 steps a day. I play soccer. Not much of a runner… still haven’t lost enough weight to casually jog at a steady pace for over 5 minutes. But, i jog. I do actual soccer training drills, and actually developed a nice curl on my shot.

I’ve gone to the sauna twice a week since we exchanged lists. I feel amazing. My skin is clear. I’m attractive to myself. I smile at myself. Something i haven’t done in years. I’m consciously aware of being in high vibration moods. I’m starting to hate what is wicked (low vibrational activities).

I’m no longer trusting anyone. My cousin left to Mexico and left me his phone bill as a burden. He promised to pay his bill, but it’s apparent that paisas don’t know how credit and bills work. We can’t just “pay later” and be okay. I’m overdrafted $200 because of that. I have to ask for borrowed money in order to pay for my monthly expenses. Once i finish the contract with the landlord… I’m done. I’m done helping people out. I’m working on myself. I’m saving up. I’m penny pinching on gazelle mode. The 7 eleven gig, and the day job should get me where i need to be slowly but surely.

I’ve been on a financial rut. The moment i decided true changes needed to be done; deep changes from within, i started seeing the positive aspect in life. Yes, the world we’re living in is a difficult one. Yes, it can eat you alive if you don’t fight back with love. Last week I asked a regular at the day job for a evening part time job. They said yeah, they’d try to fit me in. Today my account overdrafted for the first time in close to a decade (teenage years were tough). I took my lunch, and just accepted that good things HAD to come. I was going to make sure good things came my way. I attend the regular, the manager at 7 eleven, and ask for an update on the job. “My swing stocker just quit, when can you start?” She says. “I’ll start today, what time can i start?” “7” she answers.

Perfect. An easy slow paced yet active gig. I have time to get ready after work. And it’s only 20 hrs a week. I’m clocked in before my W4 is even filled up. I pick up the EXACT schedule that guy who quit left behind… MEETING DAYS OFF. Wed/Sun. It doesn’t interfere at all with the day job. I have enough time for a full-night’s rest. It’s perfect. With my account overdrawn… how could i buy dinner or snacks if i don’t have a penny to my name? Not even enough change in my car to buy an Arizona Green Tea. Not to worry… FOOD THAT EXPIRES THE DAY OF IS AVAILABLE TO ALL EMPLOYEES. I ate a sandwich and drank a juice for free. Some call it the universe working in our favor. Others call it god’s helping hand. They’re both right. This universe is created by a God. The universe is directly linked to God. Mother nature, the Mercury Gatorades, the once in a blue moon’s… some would say good luck. The one thing they all have in common, is a positive outlook in one’s life. It’s a breath of fresh air. It’s a breeze on a summer day.

Another amazing detail. Every time after i come home from work to my uncle’s house with no AC… the temperature peaks at 95° inside the house… even with window AC units on max 25/8. I get to work IN THE COOLER. AT 35°F. I LOVE THE COLD. i step outside to throw away cardboard, and the feeling of hanging out in that cooler for hours straight during the summer is just amazing. Today was one of the best days since everything went south. Today was proof that if one changes his mindset. If one dresses of a new personality, good things happen. Prayer, manifestation. Is not as mystical or occult as it sounds. Our bodies consist of minerals and water. Minerals which affect our moods, vibrations which travel through liquids, essentially us. When we pray or meditate, the brain enters a specific wavelength that is beneficial to the body. It is unique, because regardless of faith, the brain enters this specific wavelength that benefits your mood. Ask and thou shall receive is what that means. If you live a good life, you’ll have good dreams. A client at the day job told me that. If you live a bad life, all that will be reflected in your dreams. I no longer freak out when people talk about stuff that would give me the hibby jibbies. I listen, and learn. Words aren’t just words. We mean things with them.

My uncles are bilingual. Mexicans who don’t just speak spanish. They speak in parables. In dichos. In phrases. Phrases that make sense when dissected. We’re all living the human experience. We all share more than we think. Same anatomical structure. Same earth. Same basis. The details are different. Yet we are not very different on a larger scale. We all eat, poop, and die. We all at one point doubt the existence of a higher power. As children, as teenagers, as adults. We all want to know why. Yet no one doubts the existence of a devil. Why is that? Because we see all the negativity in this world. This world is not ours. It’s not god’s currently. Satan controls it. Satan influences every tiny thing because it’s currently his. Our goal is to separate ourselves from this current system, and essentially ascend into God’s kingdom. (Spiritually speaking). This can be done on earth, Jesus led by example. Jesus proved that if we live by God’s law, we will be fine. No matter what happens to this “meat car” we are in… our soul our mind, KNOWS that something better will come. The answer I was looking for, the hunger i had to know why God allowed me to undergo such difficult experiences, at a time when i least expected them to… i found the answer. God doesn’t put anyone to the test. If your dad is responsible, i don’t care. If he’s not, i don’t care. Dios no le da alas a los alacranes. My uncles aren’t the only bilinguals on this earth. Another client today said “we gotta find the riches. But not monetary.” As he points to his head. We briefly talked about being a good person and being happy and loving everyone.

No one can convince me your father wasn’t involved in this exodus I’ve had to face. I know he did it with well intentions for you. People use negative/dark power/energy out of love. Someone who uses violence to avenge the disgracing of a female relative… someone who pays eye for an eye… does it out of love. But it is a corrupt form of love. Kind of like i expressed in a previous post in regards to Bradley from Sublime. He claims to pull out his .45 on the sancho that his ruca has found. He’s lashing out because he loves his ruca. This is very common behavior in this world. Remember who this world belongs to? We need to deeply love and trust in our creator and all will be fine.
