Das Gänseblümchen - die Schöne unter den Wiesenblumen

Das kleine Gänseblümchen kennt eigentlich jedes Kind. Die Rosettenpflanze mit den Mini-Margeritenblüten ist ein beliebter Frühlingsbote mit heilsamer Wirkung. Sie sollte in Gärten gern gesehen sein. Das Gänseblümchen ist eine bei uns weit verbreitete und bekannte kleine, aber sehr robuste Wildpflanze mit weiß-rötlichen Strahlenblüten mit gelber Mitte. Sie besitzt sehr viele volkstümliche Namen. Dazu gehören so liebevolle Bezeichnungen wie Tausendschön, Maßliebchen, Augenblümchen oder Margritli. Im Englischen trägt die Pflanze den Namen "Daisy". Dieser leitet sich davon ab, dass die Blüten nur über Tag geöffnet sind und sich abends und bei schlechtem Wetter schließen.

Researchers have finally discovered the key to these fluff-ball's signature sound, which involves squishy pads in a cat's vocal cords. Scientists have puzzled over how cats manage to make their distinctive low-pitched purr, as low frequency sounds are usually made by larger animals with longer vocal cords. These 'purring pads' of connective tissue embedded in the vocal folds appear to increase the density, making them vibrate more slowly to produce the rumble that brings joy to their humans. The international team led by voice scientist Christian Herbst from the University of Vienna in Austria says their research challenges the widely held belief that active muscle contractions are what cause purring. Instead, the scientists think that purring may be a passive aerodynamic behavior that continues automatically after the brain sends an initiating signal.

I’m not saying that if I were in charge of designing the turtles that the series would be more successful, but it would most certainly have a more... enthusiastic fandom. Does drawing bara Raphael make me a furry?

this is a bit silly but i enjoy the thought of Required Reading becoming somewhat immortal due to the plasm output of the commieghosts and students combined. during le retour perhaps Required Reading becomes something of a guerrilla attack method as it is very difficult to fight or shoot someone when there is a plasm-supercharged cat attacking your face. she rides on uli's shoulders and carries medkits in her little backpack & sniffs out ppl buried under rubble. if the students start to mutate, so should she - with all the love in the apartment + community directed towards her.

Meister der Tarnung

Die Natur hat sich so manche Raffinessen einfallen lassen, so auch die der Tarnung. Es kann ein Überlebensakt oder ein Strategieschauspiel sein. In diesem Fall ist es Meister Lampe, der sich meisterhaft vor seinen Feinden verstecken kann. Nimmt der Hase eine Gefahr war, legt er seine Ohren ans Haupt und duckt sich zusammen. Verharrt so lange in dieser Stellung, bis die Gefahr vorüber ist, oder die Deckung wegen eines zu geringen Abstandes auffliegt. Dann heißt es aber flitzen, was das Zeug hält. Ein Haken links, ein Haken rechts. Stillstand. Das Spiel kann von Neuem beginnen. Nebenbei ein Grashalm als Stärkung verdrückt. Nur bei den Häsinnen, gibt es kaum Deckung. Jeder will der Erste sein. Ein Erlebnis, dass sich eingeprägt hat und so mancher Vergleich gezogen ist. Ein Angsthase!
