This could have been the ultimate crossover!
So.
Takuya Nagaoka used to play William T. Spears in Kuromyu, until a new actor was casted for the role: Teruma.
The same Teruma that was casted as Sanan in Hakumyu, replacing Ryosuke Mikata.
Ryosuke Mikata played the role of Ronald Knox in the last Kuromyu, Tango on the Campania.
DO YOU ALL REALISE THAT, HAD WILLIAM APPEARED IN TANGO ON THE CAMPANIA, BOTH SANANS WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE SAME PRODUCTION AS SHINIGAMIS????
Well, at least we have Yoshihide Sasaki as Viscount Druitt <3

So I listened to the new album and it’s not good! Don’t read if you don’t like opinions about Ringo being bad! I wrote my thoughts on the tracks as I listened and it’s kind of funny how you can see my disdain grow with each one. Also I am NOT a writer so take that into account.
1. 鶏と蛇と豚 | Niwatori to hebi to buta The opener. Immediately makes me think of KSK, in the same way that seeing a bootleg Gucci bag makes me think of the real thing.
2. 獣ゆく細道 / 椎名林檎と宮本浩次 | Kemono yuku hosomichi / Sheena Ringo and Miyamoto Hiroji This song was OK when it was released last year, it's still OK now. I actually like the EXPO version better because it had more energy while this version seems like another lifeless Ringo Showtime Extravaganza.
3. マ・シェリ | ma chérie If you heard the Expo version you've heard this. Well basically. I would say the main difference is Ringo's vocals were more powerful in the Expo version, while she spends most of this song sounding like she was recovering from strep but had to record or else. I will admit though, I like it. Even though it's another commercial tie-in...
4. 駆け落ち者 / 椎名林檎と櫻井敦司 | Kakeochi mono / Sheena Ringo and Sakurai Atsushi did y'all hear sumn?
5. どん底まで | Donzoko made So this is a new recording, and they made it worse. I actually LIKED the original. Now it's another lifeless arrangement clearly based on the Expo performance. Why.
6. 神様、仏様 / 椎名林檎と向井秀徳 | Kamisama, Hotokesama / Sheena Ringo and Mukai Shuutoku I love this song, it's my favorite Nu-Ringo song, it deserves to be on a better album. Also it's from 2015.........
7. TOKYO Kamisama Hotokesama does NOT fade well into this. It's jarring. Anyway this isn't a bad song but it should have been a b-side on some single that never saw it's way onto an album. I almost want to say a Jihen b-side, but it doesn't have enough personality for that.
8. 長く短い祭 / 椎名林檎と浮雲 | Nagaku mijikai matsuri / Sheena Ringo and Ukigumo I am an Ukigumo defender so I'm glad he's on the album but I also don't really like the auto-tune. At the same time I think this song is catchy as hell, but in more of a 'play this at a BBQ' way and less of a 'play this on a nice sound system' way. Also buy coke.
9. 至上の人生 | Jijou no jinsei I never liked this song and I still don't like it. Sounds like a really bad anime ending.
10. 急がば回れ / 椎名林檎とヒイズミマサユ機 | Isogaba maware / Sheena Ringo and H ZETT M So an HZM and Ringo event. I felt like I was waiting for the song to actually start and then it was over. I don't hate it but again it deserves to be a b-side, not on an album! I'm starting to think Ringo is sapping away talent from these artists because I certainly expect more from HZM.
11. ジユーダム | Jiyu-Dom (“Free-dom”) It's a theme song for an NHK program and it sounds like it. NEXT!
12. 目抜き通り / 椎名林檎とトータス松本 | Menuki-doori / Sheena Ringo and Tortoise Matsumoto So it's a new version and the vocals are switched? Anyway, a strong intro with dark sounding strings that almost remind me of KSK....and then MORE FUCKING SHOWTUNES! I hated this when it came out and I still hate it now! NEXT!!!!
13. あの世の門 | Ano yo no mon I'm writing ahead of listening to this right now to give my expectations. Ringo's closers have always been amazing...I'm not expecting another Souretsu but maybe.....MAYBE....could this be good?
OK I've started and I'm giving the blow by blow. I don't like this intro. It's bad. It's really bad. We're 50 seconds in and it's not improving. OK....accordion has started playing and now it sounds like a Jihen song which might be good...nope never mind. I could really do without the English lyrics. And the song is almost over. It was bad.
Final thoughts: I REALLY wanted to like this album. I've been a ride-or-die Ringo fan for over a decade now. But I can't defend this. It's mostly old songs, with a few songs re-recorded in a way that makes them worse. HOW does one manage that? Ringo found a way.
And Ringo's showtunes. Now, I actually LIKE showtunes. I like jazz. I enjoyed the jazzy songs of Tokyo Jihen, and the new (at the time) direction Ringo took with Sanmon Gossip. I EVEN LIKED SUNNY!!! Now it's getting old. Especially because they're not even good jazzy/showtuney/WHATEVER songs. If they were I would still be a little sick of the theme, but still admire the music.
I can't really speak for all the collaborators, but I would guess that their solo careers are probably good. I'm a huge fan of Ukigumo/Nagaoka Ryosuke/Petrolz and his stuff is great. I'm not as big of an HZM fan but I know he's very talented. If your only exposure to these two artists was from this album you would probably think they sucked.
Ringo seems to be surrounded by people more talented then her, and in this album she drags them down. I NEVER thought I would say that but it seems to be true these days. This album is so fucking bad that it almost makes me wonder if it's intentional, like maybe she's trying to end her career and go onto her dream of just producing songs for others. But if that's the case wouldn't you want to go out with a fucking face melting KSK part 2?
Does Ringo just suck now? I'm so disappointed.

I forgot I stumbled upon Tomita Lab’s latest album teaser like last year, it was a teaser of OCEAN feat Naz and Password feat Nagaoka Ryosuke. Yesterday I checked youtube for Tomita Lab because I want to recommend their song to my friend and then just realized that there’s an MV for OCEAN.
seriously, this song is just Godlike, the MV fits really well too.

Random Japanese guys I’ve liked over the last 10 years...
Idek I thought I’d make a late night list like I like to do but then I decided to comment on each one so I realized I needed to cut this embarrassing shit XD
I wanted this to be in chronological order but it didn’t totally work out that way
Subaru Shibutani- My #1 from Kanjani8 obviously.  My first idol, my favorite idol XD
Tadayoshi Ohkura- My #2 from Kanjani8.  I don’t think I ever liked him as much as most of the other guys on this list but I did have my moments with him.
Tsuyoshi Domoto- If you were to ask my my favorite from Johnnys sometimes I would say Tsuyoshi.
Masato Sakai- I LOVED JOKER SO MUCH.  I wanted to watch everything he did and I watched a lot of it, then he got popular and I got bored with him. His acting can be a bit cheesy sometimes but I don’t think it was always like that, maybe he’s been skating a bit cos he got so big.
Ryo Kase- After SPEC I liked him a lot.  I watched a ton of his movies and I thought his career was going places... but then it didn’t.  He does mostly indie movies so he’s hard for me to follow now :/  I ran a tumblr for him for a while.
Satoshi Tsumabuki- I like his face. idk when I started liking him. I haven’t come even close to watching all or even most of his work.
Joe Odagiri- Satorare was one of the first dramas I watched all the way through but I REALLY loved him in Jiko keisatsu and Atami no Sousakan, I’ve watched a bunch of his movies but not nearly all of them.
Ryuhei Matsuda- Now him I have watched a good deal of his work, maybe like 75%, I’ve watched some god awful things for him, I’ve watched nonsubbed things for him.  I like him still but he was more interesting when he was younger tbh.
Ichiro Yamaguchi- He’s the lead singer of Sakanaction.  I like him a lot, I think he’s probably an interesting guy... but here’s the thing I obviously can’t understand his tweets or any of his writing at all.  I love his music tho.
Daisuke Takahashi-  First skater, favorite skater XP  I fell in love watching his Olympics 2010 SP
Ukigumo/Ryosuke Nagaoka- I only recently started really getting in to Tokyo Jihen and I regret it immensely.
Issei Takahashi- I started Quartet for Ryuhei and stayed for Issei.  He’s done so many dramas that I wish were subbed.  I’ve tried watching most of his stuff but I gave up on movies and I’m stalled on some of his early dramas.
Honorable mentions:
Yuzuru Hanyu- I started watching him right after the 2010 Olympics and he’s my second favorite skater.  But I feel like it’s not cool to say that anymore? lolol
Haruma Miura- I think he’s really cute but I haven’t watched too much for him.
Masaki Okada- Same as Haruma basically.  I think he reached his peak when he was younger... idk I feel like he made better film choices back then.
Kengo Kora- I want to watch more things with him but for some reason none of them grab me.  I like his look and I think he’s done well not to be typecast in a certain type of role.
Nozomu Kotaki- I had to stick him in cos when I was looking over my archive to see if there was anyone I was missing I realized I’ve reblogged a lot of gifs of him.  I haven’t watched any dramas he’s in, I don’t really pay attention to Hey Say WEST’s music but as far as younger idols go I like him the most.  I still remember the first time I saw him in a magazine I thought “Hey that kid is tall, they need to push him, there need to be more tall Johnnys”
Soooo basically I mostly like guys my age or older, the younger guys can’t get me going in the same way haha
