Hey! I was just wondering, since radwimps's drummer is on hiatus, who is playing the drums in their tracks now?
They have Mikki! Mizuki Mori (nicknamed Mikki) is their support drummer during both recording and lives. He used to work at their studio, and when Satoshi had to go on hiatus, he recommended they audition Mikki for the job. He’s lovely. Toshiki Hata is another support drummer/percussionist they use during lives. (They have two drum sets on stage, and Toshiki and Mikki both play.)

TOKYO JIHEN? pt 4 + notes & addendums
Part 1 (Songs 1 - 8)
Part 2 (Songs 9 - 12)
Part 3 (Songs 13 - 24)
  > ―en c ore 1―
> 25 Gunjo Biyori
WHAT BETTER GIFT COULD THEY BRING US UPON THEIR RETURN
NOW OF COURSE I SOBBED LIKE A CRAZY PERSON AS SOON AS THIS STARTED PLAYING BECAUSE I’M A HUGE KYOIKU GEEK
I SOBBED AND MOUTHED THE WORDS VIOLENTLY AND WAVED MY LITTLE FLAG THE WHOLE TIME IT WAS SO BEAUTIFULLY PERFORMED
I really like seeing them bringing that much energy to the stage because to me Tokyo Jihen shines its brightest when the music reaches this kinetic frenzy because it’s an instantly infectious mood and seeing everyone smiling because there were likely so many long time fans at least since Kyoiku (me) if not earlier and it’s really a perfect meeting place for Shiina’s young energy, her mature song writing, and the skill of the members as they push one another to their best.
Gunjo is, for me, a perfect song because it’s so energetic that it’s a necessity for everyone playing to throw their all into it.
Obviously I love Gunjo Biyori, okay.
> 26 Seishun no Matataki
This is another one of her songs for Chiaki Kuriyama
Beautiful song
So slow and moving
I don’t know what else to say here but I enjoyed it through my tears
Our Jihen standing up there in their Sailor Suits, pulling all of the Gunjo right out of me ;~;
> ―e n core 2―
Now, there are two ways to end when you’re Tokyo Jihen
You can leave the audience torn and soulless and in awe of your majesty with Yume no Ato
Or you can put them in the most powerful mood of their lives with Toumei Ningen
And
Oh
My
GODS
> 27 Toumei Ningen (Adult)
TOUMEI NINGEN IS HONESTLY THE PERFECT SONG AND THE MOST ACE CLOSER OF ANY ANY ANY POTENTIAL CHOICE
They talked a little bit before and I think either before this or before Gunjo Biyori is where Ukigumo thanked the crowd at least 10 times and Shiina shared some words and we all cried but then TOUMEI NINGEN IS THE ULTIMATE FEEL-GOOD SONG IDK HOW. THE LYRICS. THE INSTRUMENTATION.
STARTED CRYING AGAIN OF COURSE
It was so strong and like I said this song is hovering in the liminal space between a zenith of perfection and ascension to another realm where all is good and we are all incidents ;x; it was so so so so terribly good and everyone was wearing these cute sailor get ups
I was so jazzed through my tears because somehow the message of this song reaches right inside of you and take out everything that’s clouding up how amazing you are and how amazing everything around you is
If you haven’t listened to Toumei Ningen, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that maybe until this point, Dynamite Out has had the best rendition that I’ve heard because Shiina like cried herself at the end and it’s so amazing to watch the light in her face as she sings, but if anyone has recommendations, please please please do not hesitate!
After it ended they showed a short video of the members in their sailor garb and played sea sounds then they did production credits
When Shiina’s name rolled up I
Take a guess
YES I CRIED AGAIN
Okay and then eventually the lights rose and holy shit was any of that real
  >> Addendum to 3 Konya wa Karasawagi
So knowing how shiina is pretty much pro at rolled r’s/growling I was anticipating the way he growled “mou” at the beginning
And man oh maaaaannnn was it good
Also obviously you can tell from the sound that she swayed when she played the tambourine
>> Addendum to 10 sa_i_ta
I forgot that she has those “oh”s and “ah”s in there until I’d left my computer
But those were
So
Good
Sometimes I would reach out to her longingly
And then start crying again
  >> Addendum to 6 Season Sayonara
I don’t know if she mussed up or if someone’s solo went a little long, but she tried to go back into the song (at the second verse) but had to step back and wait. I don’t know, it’s so cool to see my goddess show human traits… I feel like I’ve taken a glimpse at some kind of secret. :’>
  Notes:
Dear GODS
Also looking at Channel Guide (which I'll upload some pictures from later. No HQ scans but photos of photos HAHA), I’m terribly upset that I didn’t buy the Discovery Concert DVD while I was there :c I’M SO STUPID I COULD HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO CRY OVER RN
BUT IT WAS LIKE 4800Y AND I’D ALREADY SPENT 15000Y ON MY TICKET AND 13400Y ON MERCH PRIOR GDI
WHY DON’T I HAVE THE GBP EXCHANGE RATE ESKJ>Di;AslMKLDAS;ODKASL
  >>
I forget when but for one of the encore performances, the OSCA dancers threw streamers into the crowd (it was probably Toumei Ningen or Gunjo Biyori)
And Izawa played guitar on one of them and he and Kameda were at opposite sides of the stage and they played at the crowd then like chicken-walked to the center of the front-most part of stage and had a battle with each other it was super cute!
ALSO they surprisingly played Boutoumin from Variety which was one of my favourites the first time I listened to it!! I was so happy! And in the part where they usually say “Tokyo,” Ringo chan primed us then walked to the front of the stage and motioned at the screen where they flashed OSAKA and we all shouted OSAKA and they kept playing ;w; But I was so happy to see it played live because I don’t think it’s ever been like THE MOST POPULAR song
Yeah and like I’ve said before, hearing other members singing warms my soul so greatly. :3
I also recall that Goddesschan went a different way from the singers somewhere in the second third of the main set
like they were dancing on unison but she went the opposite way once but recovered so quick and so flawlessly so perfect sigh sigh sigh
Also, during another song, I forget which (I wanted to take notes for memories’ sake, but I was standing the whole time and sobbing and waving my Jihen flag super proudly (the lady next to me had a flag from their FIRST TOUR OMG)) so clearly I didn’t get to but yeah Ukigumo did a cute little dance in front of Izawa while he was playing keys
Ukigumo actually did a lot of shimmying which is super cute and he had some like curly fauxhawk mess going on which increased how endearing it was.
They all remind me of like really funny, great kids. ;x; I think I’m going to send them an e-mail if it’s possible to poorly express my deepest love outside of my native tongue.
That’s my basic review but if you have more questions, feel free to ask!
>>(Personal feelingz beware)
I feel like my life has changed so much for the better since seeing them. I can’t imagine being sad over trivial things because I’ve fulfilled such a big part of what I’ve aspired to do with my life (which, yes, has been primarily composed of wanting to do nothing more than watch my favourite musicians play in real life)
I couldn’t see Shiina’s face very well, but the line of her nose is so pretty and obviously the shape of her eyes really what I got of her is very very gorgeous they’re ALL such good-looking people and they’re also talented because that happens and usually it's unfair but they treat us so well ;v;
Thanks for sticking with me through this dreamtrip, you guys! Hopefully reading anything else I write from here is interesting because this is the height of my existence right now.
ALSO
THE MUSIC BEFORE THE CONCERT WAS 8BIT OKAY I LOVE 8BIT IT IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE GENRES
AND ONE OF THE SONGS WAS ACTUALLY AN 8BIT GHOSTBUSTERS THEME RENDITION
PLEASE BE MORE PERFECT I DARE YOU
And in some mid-set situation while it was dark they showed like a video game situation like the video game was called “Bon Voyage” and idk it was all NES-pixels and I felt so so good and probably I cried let’s be honest
My classmate asked me how the concert and I like exploded in my soul and said that it was good and I told him I cried like the whole time and he laughed and was like WHY and I told him it’s because I’ve loved them since I was 12 and he was like :O okay the end
It surprised me that they didn’t play Sounan or Marunouchi Sadistic though
While I find MS overplayed, I still love it but I wish the like live funk version hadn’t kind of overtaken the youthful mystery that I find so attractive for the song
Like, I partially became a pizza girl in high school because of the lyrics/because MS inspired Haruko from FLCL who is one of my favourite characters ever/because I loved the sound of the original Marunouchi Sadistic since it brought such fun and intrigue to leading the daily, mildly troubled life of someone with big dreams and no money :s But at the same time, it's closer to the demo version, so I really like that.
And Sounan is just my favourite song, I don’t even know why. I really disliked my junior and senior years of high school, but somehow Sounan and Himitsu in particular were kind of “there” for me. I thought like, hmm, “even if everything else sucks, this really cool band and their really good music will always be here” and I kind of envisioned one day having a friend who I could chill with listening to Tokyo Jihen and making mischief idk .-.
Btw it hasn’t happened yet but I’m always looking!?
