Evfimia Nosova, nee Ryabushinsky, era la hija del famoso industrial ruso Pavel Ryabushinsky. Se casó con el comerciante de Moscú Vasily Nosov, hijo del famoso "rey de la tela" Vasily Dmitrievich Nosov, una de las personas más ricas de Moscú . Al instalarse en la casa de la familia Nosov en la plaza Vvedenskaya, Evfimiya Pavlovna pronto la convirtió en un salón de moda. Fue asistida en esto por el arquitecto Ivan Zholtovsky, los artistas Valentin Serov , Mstislav Dobuzhinsky y Sergei Sudeikin. El sobrino de Nosova, el historiador de ballet Yuri Bakhrushin, la describió de la siguiente manera:
Era una representante típica del capitalismo condescendiente de Moscú. Rodeada de poetas simbolistas y  artistas del mundo del arte , ella "a pesar de la razón, desafiando los elementos" convirtió la antigua casa de Nosov en la plaza Vvedenskaya, que recuerdo de la infancia, en el palacio de Cosimo Medici.
Evfimiya Pavlovna era una dama secular, aficionada a todo lo inglés. Según Bakhrushin, “organizaba cacerías pretenciosas y persecuciones de papel, donde los hombres iban vestidos casi con fracs rojos. Sus hijas fueron criadas según el método inglés y las órdenes inglesas se mantuvieron en la casa .
