i finally got fed up enough with how shitty my galaxy s7 was and how insufferable to navigate my phone provider's website was and switched phone carriers to trick them into giving me a new phone (it wasn't a trick companies just Do That) and it's fucking insane to have a phone that just. works. i receive phone calls. it opens apps immediately. it just. works? insane.

also shoutout to walmart family mobile for having a website that fucking SUCKS shit. transferring my phone number took literally 2 hours longer than it needed to bc the website just. wouldn't show my sim# which was also my account number. and my sim card was like 8 years old and had been cut down to tiny from a big sim card because I'm a cheap bitch and i hate dealing with things so there wasn't a number on my sim card or anywhere in my phone and it EVENTUALLY was right where it was supposed to be in my profile after looking at the page twenty times. i was so brave and also shaking and almost crying in the phone store on the phone with the rep to get my number transferred like 'i am so sorry this number just doesn't exist???' and my boyfriend was looking, the in store rep was looking, it didn't exist until she called in a rep from wfm and he was like 'it should be here in your profile' and it suddenly was. like. we had all looked at the profile page like twenty fucking times and all of a sudden it was there. she added unlimited unlimited data for no extra charge about it so that was cool? but i almost cried it took so long and was so frustrating i was shaking and sweating in the phone store like a chihuahua

before I get into anything, here are my timelines in this AU:

2 years between moto and season 11, atleast 5 months between s11 and s12, 5 more months between s12 and s13, 4 months between s13 and the island, a month between the island and s15, canonically a year between s15 and crystallized, 2 years between crystallized and the merge, 5 years between the merge and the events of DR

and jenna and ethan's ages during these times:

jenna: a year old during s11, almost two years old during s13, turned three a while after nya left, four during crystallized, six when the merge happened, and 11 in current time

ethan: a year old when the merge happened, and 6 in current time

I..know it's probably confusing, but I can attempt to explain more if you don't understand!

my fic for these two is currently being rewritten!!

and now, time to ramble abt the kids!! (warning, VERY long)

their full names are: Jenna Edna Lilly Walker and Ethan Ed Raymond Walker (you can guess who was named after who)

jenna was born just a year after moto, and ethan was born also a year after crystallized!

and from that, the age difference between them is 5 years

jenna inherits jay's powers, and ethan inherits nya's

ethan has ADHD and lacks good social skills due to being surrounded by only 2 people for most of his childhood, while jenna has anxiety, trust issues and some slight ptsd

oh and I can't forget to sprinkle the t r a u m a on them both

they have a good dynamic and bicker normally like siblings always do, but jenna sometimes needs to have her alone time and hates when anyone bothers her so she can snap at any time

while ethan is sensitive and cant control himself, especially if he sees someone distressed, but if he himself is the distressed one either no one should even come near him or he needs a genuiene hug or encouraging words from someone

I'm not sure when jenna will get her powers and will get her true potential, but until I figure it out, she gets her potential when she saw a certain someone in danger (kinda placeholder!!)

she didnt have control of her powers much at first, but would soon learn its abilities

and when ethan gets his powers, it doesn't go smoothly at all due to nya having been turned into the sea, so all the sudden power is..quite a painful experience without control

his true potential? realizing his worth and saving his sister from danger

I don't have exact birthdays for them yet, but the placeholders for now are may 23rd (jenna) and october 8th (ethan)

when they got a bit older, jenna decided to dye some streaks of her hair blue (and one time had a pixie cut), ethan didn't take any creative liberties with his hair but would sometimes style it when he's bored

jenna was named by jay, and while nya had wanted lilly she didnt mind and just she told him ''as long as you don't name her nya junior I won't throw you off a building"

lilly in the end was just given as a middle name

want a fun fact? jenna was the one that named ethan, the moment she saw him in his little blanket she just kept shouting "ethan! ethan!"

jenna always had a love for mechanism, while ethan would break a tv just by staring at it

tbf he does kind of have an intrest, but he finds it boring and just likes how it looks, but he is fairly good at it and just needs help

and jenna has a HUGE obsession for drawing and painting, while ethan likes cooking and is declared 'the gordon ramsey of the walkers* by jenna lmao

Jenna: dude please just open your own restuarant at this point Ethan: for the love of the fucking fsm Jenna-

jenna's special nickname is JJ! long story short, it was at first a shortened version of 'jay junior' that was actually a joke but then it became her actual nickname lmao

jenna is aroace and will go by she/they in the future, while ethan goes by he/him and will come out as bi!

jenna was attached to both her parents but felt closer to nya, especially after seabound

she'd watch her and jay in the sam x cave for ages

never remembering nya nor jay, ethan was wary of nya at first and tried to stay close to jenna but the moment she hugged him? he felt safe and knew it was right (shoot I'm kinda spoiling the reunion uhh)

jenna says she has no favourite uncle, but it's secretly cole and only he knows that

and she bullies kai, even when she's not ordered to do so by jay 👌

she does have a good bond with all of them tho!

jenna, in dragons rising, is 5'0 and will stay that height for a while until she hits a sudden growth spurt at 13 and is literally 5'6

and she'd be 5'9 at 16

happens with ethan aswell, he's only 6 so he's about 3'8 which is average for his age, but he'll keep growing taller and taller and he stops growing once he reached 5'8

The Forest Of Walkers(tm) as a moot of mine once quoted (we both hc jay to be very tall, finn I am looking at you)

and yes, that small part of the drawing of them walking is them in the future, I have no exact design yet and just wanted to throw that in bc of the free space lmao (I will post their future designs tho trust)

fun fact: when me and my friend were still planning what jenna and ethan would be doing after the merge, instead of staying with lloyd they had ended up with sora and arin

in this au, maya and ray are a tad closer to nya than they are in the actual show, they visit regularly to check on her, jay and jenna (soon ethan aswell)

both them and ed and edna SPOIL HER TO DEATH. they'd gladly take jenna any day

..which actually happened, seabound stuff :")

from the way all the ninja grieved, it was extremely lonely for a 3 almost 4 year old kid, especially with how everything happened so suddenly and how she can't yet process grief well, she only had cole who'd stay with her alot when she wasn't at her grandparents

even at their places it felt gloomy, but she loved to distract herself when she'd be in the junkyard by helping ed collect scraps and build with him (when her love of mechanism began)

and she loved to take walks with maya or ray at ignacia, or watch ray blacksmithing

it calmed her down a bit, but she knew something was still missing

edit: jay was also not in the best place after nya left, and wasn't able to spend time with jenna because she reminded him so much of nya, so he went to the lighthouse before he got too far

crystallized was..not the best experience either

because of spoilers and still planning out some more stuff, time to jump to post-crystallized

jenna grew much closer to nya, and had went to school 2 months after ethan was born!

she started in first grade, and was chaotic as fuck

she beat a kid in her class once just because he didnt like her drawings, obviously did not end well but she won and she was proud af 😎

during the timeskip after the merge, when ethan hit 4, lloyd would do some sort of homeschooling for him since he and jenna never left the monastery

Lloyd: okay, what's 5+6?

Ethan: 10!

Soundless AA: Android Port Coming December 20th, Artbook Creation Now In Progress Too

After a week of hard work, I was able to make the remaining necessary adjustments to the game. Cheri and I are now steadily making our way through the actual hardware tests of the Soundless Android Port, and we’re on track for the release date mentioned in the last entry. So, wipe away that “tentative”—the Soundless Android port is definitely coming on December 20th! It will be available for download on our Itch.io page.

In addition to the port, I’ve started putting together the artbook. While the program I’m using is a bit of a pain to get the hang of, I’m getting somewhere! In fact, right now as I’m typing, I’m brainstorming how to get it to do what I want it to do…

This is the cover and title!

The artbook will only be available digitally as a tagged PDF. While it has some bare minimum adherence to good printing standards (a lot stays well within a safe zone), we don’t have the means to make a physical edition. Sorry!

With that, I’m doing away with the usual progress bit at the bottom since we’re pretty much wrapping things up. Please look forward to our next newsletter, which may very well be the second to last (if not last) one of the year.

Hi.Since hellspawn is created the same way spinjitsu brothers are,shouldn't she age slower and/or be semi-immortal?Are Oni interested in her,because she looks human, has Oni blood,but also Dragon aura or smth bc she is created by the golden power?Also,how does she take Nya's departure in Seabound?

I would say she ages like Lloyd did but is semi-immortal just like him — well, the latter is what he hopes. (He's not planning on outliving her because of his fucked up heritage) He's still learning what traits his powers managed to give her that day, but genetically, she's all Lloyd.

So far, the only actual Oni she's ever spent time with was Mystake — and that wasn't even for very long or under good circumstances. All she got from that tea addict during S9 was that 'she's a curious case' — whatever that means. Lloyd doesn't get it either but he's too exhausted being the emotionally drained character in Hunted to ask.

Her quarter demon grandfather smelled that she was part Oni in Hunted at some point while holding her captive, but she didn't understand what the heck was going on other than this was her Grandpa who she hadn't seen in...a while. And he now looked weird too.

She didn't interact with any full-blooded Oni in MoTo, unfortunately. :(

She has some dragon traits too though — the frequent chewing on Lloyd's hair and any attempt to eat any object within distance is the dragon side speaking. And Lloyd remembers having the urge to purr while holding her when she was a baby—and actually doing it on one occasion. Now, he's not sure if that was from the Oni or Dragon...or just him. Sensei G never said anything about doing it when he was younger. And Lloyd never blurted out the question either—in his defense, he thought it was weird at that time.

And in not Sensei G's defense, he was passing by Lloyd's room when it happened so of course he knew what was happening—only, he didn't say anything. Just smiled and remembered the moments a much younger him used to soothe his newborn son that way.

Nya's departure doesn't feel real to hellspawn until after they've had her memorial. That's when it truly sinks in that her Aunt Ni's really gone. It's quite odd for her to think about—Nya's always been so untouchable.

But then she finds out Nya isn't actually dead and just...left. She left but they're holding a memorial. She left but they're acting like she's gone for good and will never come back. They're mourning her.

Well, a while after that she realizes the difference between dead and gone for good. Aunt Ni's still out there but she's never coming back. She can't come back. Whatever she did to save Ninjago won't let her walk through the monastery doors and get everyone to stop being sad. She'll never be in the hangar bay working on something with Aunt Pix & Uncle Zane or hoard all the coffee with Kai. She'll never be in the kitchen helping Jay fix something that's perfectly fine or dance-training with him in the courtyard. She'll never be seen painting Cole's sketches and showing them to him. She'll never firmly tell her dad to get some sleep or sit with him when he can't again.

She'll never be in front of her listening to her talk or take her for another swim. She'll never come back.

She's not coming back.

Hellspawn becomes very quiet in the months after that. Lloyd notices it and has a talk with her even though he knows he isn't fine himself. But all hellspawn does is nod and bite her lip at whatever he says.

I took care of two longstanding annoyances this week and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

1. My phone had gotten very weird about dropping calls and missing texts and making calls. I managed to get around it until it went into a boot loop and wouldn't come out.

2. I was waking up every morning with a very dry throat. I thought maybe my mouth was open and the cpap was drying it out. I finally called the medical supply company and said I thought it might be the machine and they swapped for a loaner and boom, not only is my mouth not like the Sahara, but the machine didn't use up the water absurdly quickly. So there's a bad gasket somewhere in the old machine letting the moisture out and fucking with the pressures. I slept so much better and am in less pain oh my God.

I got a new phone, and y'all it is so good. 256g storage, 6g RAM, sd slot, 5000 whatever battery, 50mp camera with hdr, it takes beautiful, fast photos, and it was 249 bucks what the fuck. AND I was able to roll into a local store and pick it up same day. I lost very little because Google has my photos backed up and sync took care of the rest, and I'm slowly getting things organized.

I can photograph colors that just wouldn't be accurately captured before. It struggles a tiny bit with teal but gets closer than I thought possible and within color correction.

Prioritizing the color I see irl and sacrificing contrast in color correction, all but the upper left are dang close to what I see irl

So the flash correctly got the blue in the upper but completely blue washed the two teals.

Keep in mind that most cameras flat out can't capture these colors well at all and if you don't have an hdr monitor you're probably wondering what I'm going on about.

Anyway the phone is a moto g power 5g 2023 and the system is so much friendlier than my Samsung m31s, like in every way. And Samsung can get fucked over their price structure and system limitations and difficulty of accessing repairs.
