Hello and happy Friday to you all! Midway through May now and this week we have mighty list for you all; twenty-one fics that feature a variety of different and unique AUs! Crack played straight, arranged marriage between two second sons who have older, overshadowing brothers, and a desire to carve out a place outside their family's expectations (heheh)

Reccer Says: Its just fun! And honestly, yeah? Yeah! They have a lot of common ground on siblings and their desires to prove themselves to their family's legacies. Also sharing the wish to sidle out of a very awkward room lol

Witcher AU, Essek is Yennefer, Molly is Jaskier, and they both have been cast aside by Caleb as Geralt. Allied with Astrid and Wulf, Essek seeks out allies and finds himself watching one of Molly’s performances.

Reccer Says: It’s such a brilliant AU in so few words, the history built perfectly in that small space. The emotion, the layers of it, are so delicious.

warm, unalone (come settle down) by Meridas (20,811 words, Teen) Pairing: Queerplatonic Mollymauk Tealeaf/Yasha Nydoorin Warnings: None

A modern AU in which queerplatonic partners Molly and Yasha move to Zadash to start a soft, domestic life.

Reccer Says: Truly one of the sweetest, fluffiest series out there. QPP Circus Kids are soooo important to me and this series is a large reason for that. You can FEEL the love between Molly and Yasha, the depth to which they care about and for each other. It’s just. So so tender. Also! Baby the Cat beloved. And a very nice side of Widomauk fluff!!!

Something Happened On The Way To Heaven by SweetSilentSteps (24,014 words, Explicit) Pairing: Orym/Dorian Storm/Will (Dorymwill) Warnings: Minor Depictions of Violence

A retelling of Ladyhawke (1985), featuring Orym/Will as the cursed couple and Dorian as the jail escapee.

Reccer Says: Absolutely amazing character voices! It's such a fun read! I enjoy this more than the original movie.

Fjord crashes in a small seaside town, meets The Mighty Nein, and finds he isn't lonely anymore.

Reccer Says: This is such a cozy comfort read for me. 10/10.

Advanced Book (And Heart) Stealing by Attila (2,776 words, Teen) Pairing: Kima/Allura Vysoren (Kimallura) Warnings: None

The first time Allura checks out a book Kima needs for her thesis is an accident. The second, not so much.

There is something about Essek and Molly and Caleb all supporting each other and dealing with their respective trauma that really resonates with me.

I don't really believe in monogamy, but I do believe in love. Life is so overflowing with horrible shit we can't change, that to limit ourselves when it comes to the the only good thing that has ever happened to humanity (aka: human connection) just seems stupid to me.

Some people find their greatest joy in choosing their one and only person. My Gf and I find that joy in letting people into our hearts. In sharing the bitter sweet ups and downs of love and loss and mutual healing. To see that mirrored by my favorite fucking characters. God damned. It's so cathartic.

I'm gonna gonna go cry in bed about my ginger catboy and his two purple boyfriends now. This is a gentle reminder to allow yourself to connect and be vulnerable. Because life is nothing if we refuse to live.

The Owl House ending and shows to "replace" it:

WITHOUT SPOILERS...are we happy about how The Owl House ended? I haven't watched the final season/episode yet (prolonging it cuz I wish the show hadn't gotten cancelled). To those who watched: Do you feel it was a good, satisfactory ending?

Also, below other shows to watch that will fill the animated hole in your heart if you are a THO fan (*for shows still on air at the time of posting [04/11/23]):

- Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir*: Two teens in Paris have secret identities as superheroes and fight to ssave the city from villains. Very anime inspired, campy, and romantic.

- The Ghost & Molly McGee*: Molly and her family unknowingly move into a haunted house. Molly meets Ghost. Chaos ensues.

- Hamster & Gretel*: From the creators of Phineas and Ferb, a little girl and her pet hamster are secretly superheroes.

- Big City Greens*(same universe as THO and Amphibia): A family moves from the country to the city and has to navigate the culture shock. Slice of life, features divorced co-parents, a formerly incarcerated parent, very diverse.

-Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Magical girl meets human boy and they have wacky adventures when people from her realm and Earth collide.

- Gravity Falls: The OG of Disney's "animated shows full of great lore that's almost too deep and intense to just be for kids". Tale of twins who move to a mysterious town and spend the summer trying figure out the magical history of it.

-Amphibia (similar vibe/same universe as THO): Human girl gets transported to a magical world of anthropomorphic amphibians and has to find a way back home.

- Duck Tales (2017 reboot) or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012 reboot)

The start of a fic set in regards to a conversation that happened between my partner and me in regards to Tieflings using their tails for various things.

You were staring. You knew it. Molly knew it. Everyone knew it and it was starting to get weird.

It wasn’t the first time Molly had been stared at, being part of a carnival for a while, but the Nein were a bit more cautious about where they looked so as to not garner unwanted attention. Yet here you were; deep in thought, unmoving, and staring at his tail. At first he thought you were just staring into space so he started moving the appendage back and forth to be sure, only to have your eyes follow its every move.

Glancing towards the rest of the crew with a smirk he lifts his tail to eye height, your eyes faithfully following.

“Glad you were able to find my eyes darling.”

“Why don’t you use your tail as a whip?”

He freezes at the random sentence. “I — What?”

You finally focus on his face. “Your tail. Why don’t you use it as a whip? I’ve seen both you and Jester lash your tails fairly quickly and it's about the width of my whip.” You place your bullwhip on the table, unwrapping part of it.

Jester was the first to recover “That would hurt tho.”

You look over. “Not if you wrap or braid it with leather or something. You’d essentially be making a new piece of armor that protects your tail. Plus you could probably find a blacksmith and get a piece of metal that you could place over the end that would be sharper to help deal damage.”

“Almost like a stinger on a wasp.” Yasha responds, entering the conversation. “You could grapple with your arms and wrap around with your tail.”

“Even without wrapping I feel like it wouldn’t be too different from clotheslining someone with an arm.” Beau leans forward, now entrenched in the idea.

You nod. “It would probably hurt more than that, considering that the amount of contact would be smaller.”

“We could even get different things to attach to the end!” Jester states, pulling out her sketchbook and scribbling down some ideas while muttering to herself.

Molly, finally snapping out of it, leans forward onto the table. “Your brain never ceases to amaze darling. Where did this come from?”

You stare at him in confusion, slowly raising the bullwhip from the table. “You have something attached to your ass that looks like a shorter version of my main weapon of choice. I have seen you actively move it however you want. Why are you so surprised I asked this question?”

Beau laughs. “Molly they say the most out of pocket shit that I have ever heard. You can’t be surprised by this. Between the threats of shaving people bald, wanting to make mimics their pet, and responding to things with random noises that make no sense, I'm just happy there’s some logic in this one.”

Fjord, Caleb, and Nott sit down with new drinks, Nott speaking up first. “We making fun of Y/N and their mannerisms?” Jester jumps in, quickly explaining the small conversation that had happened while they were away, leaving you able to lean over to Molly.

“You know, I could just braid a fabric around your tail for fun.”

Molly looks back to you. “Oh?”

“Wrap it up, put some charms on the fabric. Could even do so as to match the rest of your attire. Doesn’t have to be a defensive thing.”

Molly smirks. “Was this just a long con to be able to play with my tail darling? You know all you need to do is ask.”

You shrug with a smile, a glint in your eye that Molly quite enjoys. “But now Jester has an option to use to get alone time with a certain green someone.”

Molly barks a laugh “Oh you clever little thing you.” All you respond with is an eyebrow wiggle as you drink your ale.
