ᴇᴜʀᴏᴠɪꜱɪᴏɴ - ʙᴇʏʙʟᴀᴅᴇ ᴇᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴ
So...I had nothing to do and looking at the various performances I thought "Hey! That looks like...!" And so here's how I imagine the members of Neoborg at Eurovision 2023.
I wasn't supposed to get sick, I get strange ideas.

Wireless 2023 recs: week 1
Tumblr media
My desire to read Drarry fic is returning so I'm making my way through this year's @hd-wireless offerings week by week. Here is a list of things I enjoyed from the week 1 round up. My favourites are marked with a ❤️. If you find yourself wondering why my list is 3/4 of the week 1 round up, yes I know, this bloody fandom honestly, so much good stuff.
[29.08. creators added after reveals]
❤️ Why don’t you like me? by @caroll-in (T, digital comic)
Failing to ask Harry out, Draco deals with his feelings in a very dramatic fashion.
Alive by @itsphantasmagoria (E, Digital comic)
Harry is lost after the final battle, but he finds comfort from an unexpected source
❤️ Before the Cold Sets In by @vukovich & @crazybutgood (T, 9k, fic + origami art)
But if I measure the sugar To satisfy your expectant tongue Then that is love Sitting untouched and growing cold - Cold Tea Blues, by Cowboy Junkies Sometimes, the person you should be planning your life with is already in it. Or, how Harry realised that true love is at the bottom of a tea cup.
Everybody Hates a Tourist by @wolfpants (E, 51k)
On a stag do in sunny Brighton with the Gryffindor lads, the last person Harry expects to run into is Draco Malfoy. After a glimpse of Malfoy’s Muggle life in Britain’s gay capital, Harry’s curiosity gets the better of him and he finds himself returning to the seaside again and again, drawn to the city, drawn to this new version of Malfoy that Harry barely recognises from school. Meanwhile, Draco’s just trying to live his big and best queer life: working for the weekend, chasing hot men, getting lost in Brighton’s nightlife, and making friends with the neighbourhood cats. Why does his former school rival and crush have to show up and spoil everything?
Don’t hate him when he gets up to leave by @deliciousblizzardshark (M, 2k)
The linens are white and empty, sunlight slanting through the window illuminating a bed that has been deserted. Draco knew Potter would leave; he’s always gone by morning. Draco doesn’t even remember what he looks like in daylight.
Take You Home by @lqtraintracks (E, 26k)
Everybody’s a little fucked up after the war, Draco especially. What starts as hate sex after a night out, eventually turns into something else, something more like comfort. And even though his friends all tell Harry he’s just being used, all Harry’s doing is making sure Draco gets home in one piece. He’s not falling helplessly in love.
If You Took the Time to Try by enoby_w (T, 18k)
Last summer, Draco’s impulsive decision to sleep with Harry Potter resulted in a bruised ego and a broken heart. Now he’s looking for a fresh start- something that was absolutely not just an excuse for him to run away from his problems. Only it totally was, and while leaving London might have been easy, leaving Potter in the past was not.
Title & Possession by @kbrick (E, 49,063)
Harry Potter’s life is going well in the aftermath of the war. Sure, his house is dark and run-down and might hate him (while his house elf definitely hates him). But other than that, things are good. Except, yeah, okay, Hermione and Ron are no longer on speaking terms. Worse, they keep trying to get Harry to pick sides. But otherwise, Harry couldn’t be happier. Well. Except for the fact that Ginny is being super weird about their relationship and never wants to have sex or talk about the future. But other than that, Harry is perfectly fine, thankyouverymuch. At least, he is until Draco Malfoy threatens to sue him for ownership of Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, and winds up moving in until the issue is settled. Then Harry really isn’t fine at all.
❤️ Moldova’s Magical Tea by aibidil - a Podfic by cailynwrites (E, 2h 46min)
Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and—to everyone’s surprise—Draco Malfoy are opening a magical tea shop to revive wizarding tea culture and, hopefully, to bring the community together after the war. Harry, who is unemployed and trying to find his way in post-war society, wants to help his friends with their new business—but that means spending a lot of time around Malfoy. Featuring Muggle music from summer 2001, trips to the Muggle cinema, herbology and magical herbal infusions, and Draco trying to convince Harry that, while he’s still a snarky git, he’s no longer a bigot.

hi, please feel free to ignore this! I know it’s 100% NOT your responsibility to educate me! But if you don’t mind, can you please possibly explain why it’s bad to call the war “Putin’s war”? I thought it was said that way to make it clear Russia is the aggressor, not Ukraine, but if there is a reason it’s bad than obviously I won’t use it!!!!! I’m so confused about the whole war because I don’t know where to get good information from with no propaganda. It feels like so much is Russian propaganda. I just want to support Ukraine any way I can.
Sending you so much love from the states❤️
Thank you for the kind words of support! 💜
The answer is actually in your question. RUSSIA is the aggressor, and not just merely personally putin, the pathetic cowardly thug he is. Russia has been doing it for ages and never stopped, way before putin was president or even born. In the moderm history, after the break up of the USSR, russia has led multiple wars, in Moldova, Georgia, Chechnya, way before putin came to power. Putin is a symptom of the problem, not its cause. He is a product of the russian imperial culture, which was never looked at critically and processed by the society and was just glorified instead.
The term "putin's war" implies that all of this is solely only putin's fault, as if it's personally putin committing every single atrocity known to man. It's "russia's war" against Ukraine. It's not just putin, sadly.

Top 5 wrongs, misdeeds, and depravity done by fictional women
God forbid women do anything, but also: how dare you make me choose only 5? ❤️
I will not overthink it; I'll just hit you with my current ones.
Without further ado:
Alexia in Julia Ducournau's "Titane." Her brutal serial killing (3 people and her parents) during the first half of the film gives season 1 Villanelle a run for her money.
Celeste Price in Alissa Nutting's (the writer of "Made For Love") "Tampa." Nutting has called her a modern take on Nabokov's Humbert Humbert.
Katherine in William Oldroyd’s "Lady Macbeth." (The script was written by Alice Birch, who created the delicious genderbent version of "Dead Ringers.") What makes her refreshingly different is her unwillingness to repent. Unlike Shakespeare's Lady Macbeth, she actually commits the murders herself and does not lose her mind. She abuses her maid and manipulates people, using her innocent appearance to her advantage. Unlike her novella counterpart (Nikolai Leskov), she survives in the end. She's the cruelest of the three, yet she wins.
You say Patrick Bateman/Hannibal/Lestat, I say Dorothy Daniels ("A Certain Hunger" by Chelsea G. Summers). She's a food critic, she's a man eater, she commits murder as a tribute to gourmet cuisine and beauty.
Tatiana Moskalev in Naomi Alderman's "The Power." So we're talking about a world where teen girls gain the ability to electrute people with their hands and can transfer said ability to adult women (and intersex people). In Moldova, Tatiana murders her husband, who's the president. On the show, she seduces an innocent woman "Fingersmith"-style, gets the power, murders and frames her. Later, she declares a new matriarchal state that imposes several limitations on men, e.g., they are not allowed to work or drive without a woman's guidance. Men are humiliated, raped and mass murdered. (Sounds familiar?)
What do all these have in common? Oh, yes, they were written by women.
Don't get me wrong, I love the various interpretations of Medea, Steinbeck's Cathy, Ken Kesey's Nurse Ratched and even characters like Zola's Thérèse as much as the next Tumblrlina, but there's something about Gillian Flynn's Amma ("Sharp Objects"), Shirley Jackson's Merricat, Angela Carter's take on Lizzie Borden ("The Fall River Axe Murders") and Atwood's spin on evil (or "evil") ladies that just hits different.

i am Thinking about orthodox easter sunday in the hetalia universe... the little guys celebrating together...
greece cutely roasting a whole sheep corpse with the head still on over the fire going ^___^ bulgaria moping all morning because serbia beat him at the smash-your-boiled-egg-against-another-person's-egg-until-one-breaks game (serbia cheated and used a fake egg made of wood because he sucks (affectionate)) romania trying to comfort him while babysitting moldova (he's managed to get the red paint from the eggs all over his face and he's very upset because he just found out what kokoreç is made out of). cyprus is trying to drink enough raki to knock himself out and ukraine was invited but didn't show up because she's better than this!! at some point they set fireworks off and someone DOES explode. happy easter everyone❤️

top 10 eurovision entries - the legendary list as decided by me
i've been watching eurovision since i was a baby, i grew up with this stuff and i freaking love it so i thought lemme share the songs that just absolutely topped it for me 😌 very hard to narrow it down but i did my best so LET'S GO~
disclaimer: this is purely my opinion so plz don't get pissed at me because i decided these based on most memorable FOR ME, rather than best song/best voice etc
10. ruslana - wild dances (ukraine, 2004)
youtube
this was such a memorable one for me, it was around these years when i really started looking forward to eurovision and this one is just epic in my eyes.
9. måneskin - zitti e buoni (italy, 2021)
youtube
i don't think i need to explain why this one was legendary. it just was - everything about it, everything about them. 10/10 deserved win.
8. we are the winners - lt united (lithuania, 2006)
youtube
YES i am biased because i am lithuanian but i'm sorry this performance cracks me up every time i remember it - not to mention this was our highest performing entry ever 😂 just good vibes all around
7. sunstroke project & olia tira - run away (moldova, 2010)
youtube
sorry but this one was SO fun, and the saxophone guy will always be legendary
6. soldi - mahmood (italy, 2019)
youtube
oh this one was a cultural reset for me, i still have this song in my spotify and will always do the clap - epic song!
5. manizha - russian woman (russia, 2021)
youtube
i'm a biiiiig big fan of this one. especially for the message. in russia, only 10 percent of women who suffer domestic abuse report it to the police - because the laws there state that your abuser cannot be arrested unless the abuse is bad enough to warrant hospitalisation. just one of many many examples of how women are dehumanised in countries like russia - and i love and admire all the women who stand up and try to put the message out there.
4. only teardrops - emmelie de forest (denmark, 2013)
youtube
this one was a game changer to me - the voice, the staging, the fairy core... everything about this song and performance was 10 out of 10 and deserved that win
3. loreen - euphoria (sweden, 2012)
youtube
loreen is definitely the queen of eurovision for me.. this song, this performance - everything about it was incredible and totally deserved the win.
2. alexander rybak - fairytale (norway, 2009)
youtube
this song had everyone going feral - me included. easily one of the biggest and bestest bops to come out of eurovision. alexander but his whole rybussy into this one
1. verka serduchka - dancing lasha tumbai (ukraine, 2007)
youtube
nothing needs to be said. if you disagree - you are wrong ❤️
+ PLUS: some honorary shoutouts to some of my other faves -
lordi - hard rock hallelujah (finland, 2006)
netta - toy (isreal, 2018)
eleni foureira - fuego (cyprus, 2018)
conchita wurst - rise like a phoenix (austria, 2014)
go_a - shum (ukraine, 2021)

🎮💤🚫🍎❤️🤍💔💛🤔🧐 for my baby sasha pls
i'M FROTHING AT THE MOUTH THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME DEEP DIVE INTO MY BABY ANGEL.
🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?
- she actually VERY much enjoys crocheting. she made javi a sweater once. - painting her nails - woodworking, if she ever gets the time. her favorite wood is acacia.
💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?
sasha is actually a very deep sleeper, but she tends to have dreams within dreams and they're usually nightmares. it feels inescapable for her. and she'll wake up feeling groggy. before bed, she's got a full Sephora kid worthy night routine. ice rolling. eye masks, lip masks, retinol, etc etc. she's actually quite girly.
🚫 PROHIBITED — does your oc drink/smoke? do they do it regularly, or is it more on occasion or for special events?
sasha is a closeted high functioning alcoholic. vodka is her liquor of choice. she never used to smoke but took up the habit of smoking a single cigarette on the Terrace of the Sistine every sunrise after Javi dies, rain or shine.
🍎 RED APPLE — where was your oc born? do they still live in/around their place of birth or do they live somewhere else? how do they feel about their birthplace?
Sasha was born on the border of Moldova and Romania. She is grateful for her culture, but does not think or dream of ever returning there and she has no family left there that matters to her. Now she lives in a gorgeous rural part of the Austria working for The Bishop and the Sistine Syndicate.
❤️ RED HEART — what are three of your oc's positive traits?
- she is incredibly trustworthy with any task, big or small. she's responsible and always has been. she was the girl in school who submitted term projects early. - she is the kind of person to leave random tokens around on her associates things because she thought of them while on a mission (but she will never admit it was her) - she is actually quite generous with her time and energy to those she cares about even if it's in a quiet way.
🤍 WHITE HEART — what are three of your oc's neutral/questionable traits?
- she remembers everyone she has ever interacted with. faces and names stay in her brain like stickers...so..take that how you will. - she has never had to try very hard to succeed - she is impulsive. one time she jumped off a cliff because javi told her she wouldn't do it.
💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?
-this goes back to her memory thing. she holds grudges like no one's business and is honestly incredibly vindictive. - she's a master at manipulating people's emotions :/ she can cry on command. - she has a martyr complex, she has suppressed her emotions so much that she believes she can only show her friends and close loved ones how much she cares by sacrificing herself.
💛 YELLOW HEART — how many languages does your oc speak? what language(s) are they learning, if any?
4! She speaks Romanian, Russian, English, and Spanish. She's currently learning Italian with plans to learn French and German at some point in the future.
🤔 THINKING FACE — what are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms?
Sasha sticks her tongue out when she's working or really focused. If she's tinkering with her gun, if she's practicing shooting, if she's forging documents, or if she's just curled up in The Sistine House reading a book, her tongue pokes out of her lips and to the right..
🧐 FACE WITH MONOCLE — is your oc more logical or emotional?
Sasha is actually quite emotional more than she will ever admit.. She is technically an INTJ-T, but she is VERY much in tune with the T (turbulent). she is driven by her gut. she feels everything VERY deeply but is more likely to disregard her emotions.
