Dinner Night - Jakurai x Miho (Drabble)
After a week after their time at the cafe, Jakurai was finally visiting Miho’s home for the weekend. But one thing was for sure…
It was a mess.
With hair up in a bun, exercise clothes on, and a rag in one hand and spray in the other, Miho was tackling the place. After polishing the kitchen it was time to carry out cleaning the furniture in the living room, mainly of cat hair that had accumulated that week.
The lanky white and cream spotted cat that had shed its fur all over currently lounged in her small enclosed bed, watching every move Miho made. She set down the surface cleaner and rag on the kitchen counter before picking up the lint roller and proceeding to the couch. It took a few strips of the roller before the fabric couch was free of mainly white fur. The blanket took at least ten strips.
“There, now there’s less chance of him being stuck in cat hair,” Miho spoke to herself. While she had gotten the note from Jakurai that he didn’t mind, she knew any cat hair was a pain to remove from clothes regardless.
The next plan was to vacuum the rug. Miho picked it up from its place in the small closet and went back to the rug before she checked its battery: 75%. It was enough to clean without dying on her.
In the next moment of it turning on, Tenshi jumped out of her bed and up onto the couch. She was quick to hiss at the small red device and set herself in a defensive position.
Miho ignored her aggression at the vacuum and finished up quickly. She knew if she took too long, the cat would lunge at the electronic. Once finished with that task, Miho took care of the vacuum and visited the couch again to see the startled cat.
With Miho’s hand extended to Tenshi, she let her cat sniff her hand before moving in to scratch her ears. “You’re such a moody little girl, you know that?” A smile brought itself on Miho’s face as Tenshi headbutted her hand for more affection, which was willingly returned. Miho soon was able to get the cat in her lap and stroked Tenshi’s body, the cat purring.
“You better be on your best behavior tonight.”
◾️◽️◾️◽️
A text appeared on Miho’s phone, one from Jakurai. Miho had to move from her position on the couch in order to bring him in. Tenshi hopped off of her lap as she moved to stand up. In the time after cleaning, she made sure to change into something not as homey, but kept her hair up in its bun. She proceeded out of her apartment with keys and phone in hand, giving a quick text back to say she was on her way.
Soon she was in the lobby area and spotted Jakurai sitting in one of the chairs available. Once they made eye contact, Jakurai stood up from his seat. “Good evening,” he spoke with a polite bow.
“Good evening,” Miho greeted back with a bow of her own. “Was travel here okay?”
“It was doable. Nothing extreme.”
“Ah, that’s good to hear.” Miho paused and spoke again, “Well, we can go up to my apartment. The stairs are faster there.”
“Lead the way,” Jakurai spoke with a small smile.
They both went toward the staircase, Miho in the lead. They went up two flights before going down the hallway and stopping at a door where the hallway changed to the right. Miho unlocked the door and let Jakurai in first, him thanking her for the kind action. Miho then entered and closed the door behind her.
While the place was still tidy from the earlier clean up, Tenshi sat just a few feet from the front door, her eyes trained on the new human in her sights.
“This is Tenshi?” Jakurai asked as Miho stepped up next to him.
“Yes, she is a very sweet girl but is not that fond of new people. It may take her a while to trust you.”
Miho glanced at the jacket Jakurai was wearing. “Would you like me to take your jacket for you?”
Jakurai started to take his jacket off and spoke a thank you to her. Miho took the jacket to the closet and hung it up before walking back to the couch where Tenshi had now moved.
She gave the cat a few pats and spoke, “I did just do grocery shopping yesterday, so there should be enough options for making something.”
They both went over to the small kitchen and proceeded to look at the ingredients before deciding on a dish to make. While they were able to pull out the ingredients, it was up to Miho to retrieve the necessary cookware from the cupboards.
“This is a bit more than the general recipe says for,” Jakurai commented.
“The extra I will give to Tenshi. She eats at about this time.” Miho spoke as she washed the vegetables. She then moved them into a metal bowl and set them next to the cutting board before drying her hands. “Is that knife okay for the chicken? I haven't sharpened them recently.”
“It’s working alright.” Jakurai kept his focus on how to cut the meat with the bone still present in it.
They both worked on preparing the ingredients before moving onto the stock for the dish. While it was simple, Miho’s general habits stopped Jakurai for a moment when he saw her pull out a small stool.
“Is the powdered stock all the way up there?” Jakurai asked as he looked at where Miho set the stool.
“It is.” Miho got up on the stool and opened the cabinet. “I don’t make soup based foods often, so I put them up here…” She trailed off as Jakurai’s hand reached in before she could and pulled out the desired packet. Despite the bit of agitation she now felt, she didn’t make comment on it. “Thank you.” As she got down, Jakurai offered her a hand so she could keep balance.
Both of them continued on, the large pot being for their meal while Miho had set a much smaller pan down to cook the extra chicken and carrots she had out. While it would take a while before any of the items could be put in, there was at least one part of dinner Miho could get completed.
“What would you like to drink?” Miho asked. “I have orange juice, milk, cranberry juice, and water.”
“I’m fine with just water, thank you.”
Miho went to grab two glasses and filled both with water. She handed one to Jakurai and they both took a sip at the same time.
“I’m a bit surprised,” Jakurai spoke. The questionable look from Miho gave him the indication he could go on. “Most of the time when we’re with Doppo-kun and Hifumi you have wine or sake.”
“I do enjoy those, yes, but I don’t want to be drinking that all the time. It’s not healthy,” Miho spoke before taking a sip of her drink. “Plus those nights where we’re all together only happen about once or twice a month.”
Resolve came to Jakurai’s face after hearing that answer. “That’s good you don’t do it daily and that you are caring for your body.”
Miho gave a smile in a silent reply before it changed to one of thought. She had a question of her own to ask. “Say, may I ask why you don’t drink? I know that one episode happened on game night two months ago, but Doppo never explained to me the situation.”
A sigh left Jakurai’s lips. He wasn’t sure himself and had to think about how to explain the strangeness about the situation.
“All I know is if I take a sip, I become drunk. I don’t remember anything that happens during that period either.”
“So, your body acts as if you’re lightweight with any drinking alcohol as well?” Miho questioned.
“From what I know, yes,” Jakurai nodded his head in confirmation.
“Ah, alright.” Miho set her glass down and went over to the pot to check on its status. She looked up for a moment at Jakurai to make one more comment. “Then I’ll be more careful with drinks next time. I’m sorry about that slip up.”
“Don’t blame yourself.” Jakurai came over and stood next to her, a caring expression on his face. “You didn’t know, so don’t feel like you did wrong.”
The two of them continued on talking, Miho working on maintaining the food as it cooked as well. Much more was shared as they conversed. More about things from life were shared, mainly parts of their past that were fun and enjoyable. Soon, it was time for the food to be served and was done efficiently with both of them working together to serve it.
“Jakurai, could you please hand me one of the small bowls from the cupboard right there?” Miho pointed to the one she was asking for, which Jakurai willingly got a small ceramic bowl out of for her.
When she thanked him and took the bowl, Miho took the chicken and carrots from the small pan and put the contents into the bowl. The chunks of chicken were shredded with the cooking chopsticks efficiently before Miho walked over to where the small mat with Tenshi’s water bowl rested. She set the bowl down after it had cooled a bit as Tenshi went straight to devouring its contents once her head could reach the food.
The two of them then sat at the small dining table just on the other side of the half wall that divided the kitchen from the living room area. Their conversation started back up as they ate through the meal together.
“No, I didn’t really participate in clubs during high school,” Miho spoke.
“Why not? They’re great ways to build more friendships for sure.” Jakurai picked up some of the leek and chicken together after that.
“I had a lot of work around the house helping my father.” Miho picked up some of the food with her chopsticks but didn’t eat it just yet. “Since my mom was gone, it was up to my dad and I both to keep the place neat. He was a busy man when he still had a job too, so it was mainly me managing the house.”
“It seems the whole family gets worked to the bone then?” Jakurai knew Doppo worked way too much, now he had learned even Doppo’s uncle, Miho’s father, also was a busy businessman.
Miho nodded her head and swallowed what food she had in her mouth before speaking again. “In a sense, the Kannonzakas are cursed with being heavily worked.” She took a moment before adding on more, “But I think it also depends on time management and standing your ground too. I do feel with the new government that males in the family are having more of the issue for sure.”
“I can see that,” Jakurai noted. “The new system is supposed to be something to help, but none of us know if it will be efficient or not.”
The conversation continued on a while later. When Tenshi had finished her meal, she had started walking around Miho’s feet and peering up at the table to see what food she and Jakurai were eating.
Jakurai took another bit of his food and went to go eat it before freezing as Tenshi jumped up on the table and put her head out to sniff the contents between the chopsticks. He looked from the cat to Miho, who was glaring at her feline.
“Jakurai, no matter how cute and innocent she acts, do no give her any of it.” Miho started to tap the table with her nail and make small noises with her mouth to get Tenshi’s attention.
Jakurai slowly brought the food to his mouth and ate it, but Tenshi didn’t leave his meal alone. She proceeded to go to his bowl and start to dip her head in. It didn’t last long as Miho stood up from the table and picked the cat up.
“You are very naughty!” Miho spoke to the cat in her face and then looked at Jakurai. “I’ll be back in a moment. She’s being put in the bathroom for now.” Miho walked off with the cat to leave Jakurai in the main room. A door was shut in the small hallway a few seconds later and Miho was back at the table.
“Are you alright?” Jakurai asked.
Miho fixed a stray hair behind her ear and let out a small sigh. “I’m good, just didn’t expect Tenshi to do that, even if she’s a bit of a princess sometimes. We can eat in peace now.”
They continued on with conversation, enjoying one another’s company. One thing that felt great about the time together is how often Jakurai could see Miho smile and let out laughs. They were pleasant and made his own spirits rise even more. This meal together was definitely making his night a great one.
Although it was soon time for it to end.
Dishes were washed and set to dry. Once the last one was set down, Miho went to the small closet and pulled out Jakurai’s jacket and brought it over to him.
“Don’t want to leave without this!” She gave him a smile with it as he picked it up from her grasp.
“Thank you.”
He put it on and went to the door to leave, stopping as his hand rested on the handle. “Tonight was a nice night. Thank you for inviting me over.”
“Thank you for all the help you’ve been doing.” Miho gave him a warm smile. “I hope you have a safe travel back home.”
“Thank you, I hope you have a good night, Miho.” Jakurai bowed and then took his leave.
“I hope you have a good night too.” She was able to say it before he was out of view.
Once the door was shut, Jakurai stood there for a moment. It already felt a little less lively with saying that farewell. It was a wonderful night for sure, but why did Jakurai feel somewhat unfulfilled?
He shook his head. “Maybe I just forgot to do something today…”
And with that, he was off.

Concern - Jakurai x Miho (Drabble)
Another laugh was shared as Miho and two of her female friends walked with her into the building.
“I know you may not like him, but you’re fine coming here, right, Miho?” The shorter of the two asked.
Miho smiled. “Hanae, I’ll come if it means making you happy. Just know that Izanami is my cousin’s friend, not mine.”
The other female gave Hanae a hug. “You better share him if he comes to our table!”
“I will, I will!”
Miho smiled at them before spotting her cousin sitting at a table by himself. She lightly tapped her friends’ shoulders. “I’m going to see Doppo to make sure he’s doing well, alright?”
The two nodded their heads and smiled.
“Good luck! Hopefully, he’s doing better!”
Miho let out a small “Thank you” before leaving the two and taking a seat next to Doppo. He was quick to jump up from his slouched position.
“Don’t worry, it’s just me.” Miho kept her smile on her face, trying not to stress Doppo any further.
“Ah, I’m sorry, Miho…” Doppo slouched down again and played with the little bit of alcohol let in his glass, slightly swirling it as he spun the glass.
Miho poked his cheek. “You don’t have to apologize. I’m not your boss.”
A shadow covered them slightly and caught both Doppo and Miho’s attention. They both turned their heads to see Jakurai standing there, him towering over them even if still quite a few feet away.
“Ah, Sensei, you came by!” Doppo spoke with a bit of excitement.
Jakurai smiled at Doppo. “Since Hifumi said you were here with him, I thought it’d be nice to drop in.”
His eyes then went from Doppo to Miho, noticing the bright contrast of her skin against her dark clothing. The immense difference from her arm width to the size of the jacket sleeve shocked him slightly. A voice spoke, but he didn’t hear it as his thoughts ran a bit astray.  It was rare he saw someone wearing clothes so much larger than them.
Miho spoke up, “Jinguji-sensei, are you alright?”
“Ah, yes,” Jakurai responded. “What is it you said, Kannonzaka-san?”
Miho repeated herself, “There is another seat here if you wish to sit with us.” She kept her smile and gestured to the seat on the other side of Doppo.
Jakurai thanked her and took it. The three of them conversed for a while before Hifumi came over to their table.
“Hello, Sensei and Doppo-kun,” Hifumi greeted them before turning an eye to Miho. “And welcome, Miho-chan. It’s been a while since I’ve seen you!”
Miho took in a long breath and brought her intertwined fingers up to cover part of her face, again, her jacket sleeves fell down. Her turquoise eyes narrowed slightly as well. “If you could please just call me Miho, that’d be appreciated.” The fact someone younger than her addressed her as such, and especially at the age of thirty, irritated her a lot.
Hifumi smiled. “Of course, Miho. But I do have a question for you and Sensei here.” Hifumi paused for a moment before asking, “Would either of you want drinks?”
“I’m fine with water,” Jakurai spoke.
“If you have any Koshu Kayagatake, I’ll have a glass of that,” Miho spoke.
Doppo looked over at Miho with wide eyes. “That’s going to be expensive!”
Miho shrugged her shoulders. “I have the extra money this week, it’s fine to splurge every once in a while.”
It was about at that time that Miho’s friends came over to the table. Hanae being the one to grab Miho’s attention.
“Asuka and I are leaving.”
Miho looked at her for a moment with a concerned look. “It isn’t the kids is it?”
Both women nodded their heads.
“Yuki hurt himself, so we’re going to pick our kids up now,” Asuka spoke. “Call me if you still want those shirts.”
Miho gave a goodbye to them and returned her attention to Doppo and Jakurai. “It’s fine if I stick with you two for a while, right?”
“Of course, Miho,” Doppo spoke. “Are you okay with her staying, Sensei?”
Jakurai nodded his head. “Of course, Doppo-kun. It’s actually nice to meet your family.”
“Although we have already met, Jinguji-sensei.” Miho commented. “I didn’t expect a friend of Doppo’s to actually work at the same place as me. It’s comforting to know connections are close like this.”
“How did you know he did? I don’t remember telling you, Miho.” Doppo spoke.
“It’s in our text messages,” Miho commented. “I went through there so I knew where to go in the building to find you.”
“Oh… That was the day you and Sensei both found me here with Hifumi. I was wondering how both of you were working together to find me.”
At that moment, Hifumi returned with the drinks and took his own seat at the table, filling the empty seat between Jakurai and Miho.
Miho picked up her glass as she spoke to Doppo. “You’re one of my main concerns. You’re always being overworked.”
“I could say the same back, couldn’t I?” Doppo questioned.
Miho took a moment as she sipped her drink and sat it down. “I do, but I time manage so I know when I can relieve stress. You’re the one who’s top priority here.”
“I agree with her,” Jakurai spoke. “We’re here to help you, Doppo-kun.”
They continued to all converse for a while. Smiles given to one another, some laughter, and stories shared. With all their talking, time started to fly by fast. One of them soon noticing the time.
“Oh dear… It’s that late?!” Doppo got up from his chair and put his phone back in his pocket. “I have to get going if I want to sleep. I’m sorry if I kept you guys up too long!”
The others got up as well, all well recognizing how late it was getting.
“Have a good night, guys!” Hifumi spoke before heading to another part of the club to continue hosting.
They said their farewells and the three remaining went out through the front door once their drinks for the night had been paid.
Doppo turned to look at Miho. “Do you want me to walk with you home?”
“I’ll be fine. It’s not too late.” Miho went to zip up her jacket, the material bunching up in numerous places.
Doppo gave her a final goodbye before rushing off. Miho and Jakurai started walking the same way Doppo did.
“It was nice to get to know you a bit more tonight, Jinguji-sensei.” Miho commented.
Jakurai smiled at her. “Same here. If I didn’t, I would’ve thought you and Doppo-kun were twins possibly.”
Miho let out a laugh. “That was a common thing he and I were mistaken a lot as them when we were growing up. It shocked people when I always corrected them on our age.”
There was a pause as they walked, soon stopping at a crosswalk. This is where their paths would change. Jakurai looked at the woman next to him, seeing how the leggings underneath her shorts didn’t cling to her skin like they did on many other females. They had many baggy areas, only really hugging her at the ankles and knees.
“I have one more question before I leave, Kannonzaka-san,” Jakurai spoke.
“Hm? What is it?”
Jakurai was quiet for a moment as he remembered the last few times Doppo had come in after Jakurai had met Miho. Doppo has expressed his concern over his cousin’s self-neglect and Jakurai could see physically what was now being neglected.
“How often are you eating?” His eyes didn’t waiver and stayed locked on Miho’s.
She looked up at him in shock. “I eat often! I last ate at work earlier today!”
Jakurai’s brow furrowed. “An actual meal?”
“No, just a snack to give me some energy. I’d say my last meal was…” She trailed off, getting lost in thoughts. Her eyes looked upwards as she thought, but nothing was pinging in her mind. Her eyes then set on Jakurai once again. “I actually can’t remember…”
“Make sure to eat when you get home, alright?” Jakurai asked.
Miho nodded her head. “Yeah, I’ll make sure to.” She gave a small smile and then a wave to him. “Have a good night!”
He gave a small smile back. “You have a good night as well.”
And with that, the two parted ways into the bright night.

Offer (Jakurai x Miho)
Miho slipped her jacket on and picked up her purse from the hook it hung on. It was placed into the crook of her elbow before she proceeded to push open the door and walk down the hallway of the hospital.
She checked her phone for the time, seeing it was time Jakurai closed his clinic. A small smile touched her face, knowing she could converse with her friend for a bit before going to her favorite small diner.
Once outside, she stood against the wall and waited. It was a few minutes before the tall man appeared outside himself.
“Hello, Jinguji-sensei,” Miho spoke. Her smile grew more as Jakurai looked at her.
“We’re both out of work, it’s fine to address me by my first name,” Jakurai stated.
They both began to walk side by side, Miho speaking up once again. “It’s still a bit strange… But I guess it’s always like that when making new friends.” A small laugh left her lips.
“It is a bit different. It was quite a change for when I started addressing Doppo-kun differently.” Jakurai kept his gaze ahead as they continued on.
“Well, Jakurai,” Miho took a moment to look up at him, “I’m glad you’re a friend of mine and especially with Doppo. It’s great he has someone as kind and open as you as his friend.”
Jakurai froze up slightly and looked down at Miho, but the shock was quickly replaced with a smile, appreciating her words. “I’m glad to be one for both of you. Know I’ll be helping Doppo as much as possible.”
“Thank you very much. I’m glad there’s more people here for him now.”
They both were quiet then on. Both had thoughts of their own and became lost in their worlds. But Miho’s thoughts of what to eat at the diner made an idea pop into her head.
“Jakurai, would you like to join me for dinner at all?” Miho asked him.
Jakurai responded. “Right now? Where would we if we did?”
Miho smirked. “Don’t worry, I was already planning on eating at a place. Would you like to go there with me? Their service is quick with good food.”
Jakurai was quiet for a moment and thought about it. While he had planned his night out, dining out didn’t change it much. “Alright, I’ll come along.”
◾️◽️◾️◽️
After ordering their food, Miho and Jakurai were fast to fill in the time that would be spent making their meals. They were already into deep conversation within the first two minutes.
“But if you weren’t able to continue in battle, would Doppo or Izanami heal you?” Miho asked.
“It would all depend on the situation and what approach would have to be made.” Jakurai leaned back in his chair a bit, careful not to do it too much.
“I see…” Miho looked out the window for a moment before asking another question. “I’ve heard of the other rap groups, but personally haven’t met any of them. Is there anything you experienced that’d be good to know?”
Jakurai locked eyes with Miho for a moment before his look became serious. “The only one I advise to avoid is Ramuda Amemura. Amemura-kun causes a lot of trouble and isn’t all that mature.”
Miho’s eyes opened slightly as she took the info in. She nodded her head before asking another question. “So just him? Others are fine?”
“Yes,” Jakurai spoke, “but they are still considered enemy when it does come to battle. They are kind people though.”
Miho smiled slightly. “It’s good to know not all are on your bad side.”
Jakurai let out a small smile, but he didn’t want to touch on it much more. There was still quite a bit he didn’t know about Miho.
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to possibly change the subject.”
“That’s fine,” Miho replied. A smile stuck on her face. “What exactly did you want to discuss?”
“Well,” Jakurai repositioned himself and rested his arms on the table. “How have you been feeling these past few months? Have you felt better at all?”
It was the help he had been giving her. Miho recognized it immediately.
“Well, it’s still a fight…” Miho’s positive expression darkened slightly. “I am gaining weight, but it’s slow.”
“With proper meals?” Jakurai asked.
“When I can, yes…” Her fingers rubbed against the thick glass. “Usually at night when I’m home from work I try to eat a large one.”
“You try? Not that you do?” Jakurai didn’t show it but frustration was coming from within. Miho was slowly becoming like a younger sister much like how he saw Doppo as a younger brother to protect. If she wasn’t tending to herself, what would he be able to do with the little power he had?
Miho leaned forward a bit in her chair and sighed. She looked at Jakurai for a moment and then glanced away. “I plan to eat when I get home, but sometimes Tenshi is in the kitchen and she is not a cat to mess with at night.”
It was a poor excuse but Jakurai knew that ridiculing her would do nothing to help the situation. “Miho…” he paused, making sure to refrain from adding ‘chan’ onto her name before continuing on, “How about we try something that makes sure you eat?” When Miho looked at him with an expression of focus on him, Jakurai continued, “We generally get out of work at the same time. On those days, how about we either go to my place or yours and I help out with making dinner.”
Miho’s eyes opened a bit, taken aback by the offer. “Jakurai… I… Are you sure?” She knew he meant good but also didn’t want to be a burden to him.
A smile came on Jakurai’s face as he went to reassure her but was prevented from doing so as a waitress came by with their food. When it was set in front of them, she bowed and the two thanked her.
Once she left, Jakurai put his attention back on what he was going to say. “I’m sure. As a friend, I want to make sure you get where you want to be. I will help you with anything you need.”
Miho smiled at his words. “Thank you very much, Jakurai.”
And with that, they went on to have their meal.

Introductions - Jakurai x Miho (Drabble)
Miho sighed in irritation as she checked her phone yet again. There were no callbacks, no texts, and the missed phone calls she had made littered the history tab.
“Doppo… Answer back!” she yelled it in frustration, not noticing as two visitors walking by eyed her frustrated outburst.
With everything going on recently, it was necessary to find her cousin. It was important the family got together for the current situation happening.
Miho then flipped to the text screen and scrolled through her texts with Doppo. She remembered he had a doctor friend who worked in the same building as her. If she could find the text with his name, she could possibly find where Doppo was currently at. She knew for sure he’d rather see someone who’d help him instead of Hifumi, a boy Miho couldn’t stand when visiting Doppo when little.
“Jinguji… Jakurai Jinguji.” she spoke it quietly and wrote the name down on her pad of paper quickly. Once she got back to her desk, she could see which rental clinic this doctor used on the computer.
She finished her small snack bar and opened the staff room doors again to toss the wrapper in the trash.
“Kannazoka-Senpai, where are you headed?” a younger employee asked her.
“I’m done with my break. If you still need help with directions, I’ll be at the desk down this hallway.” Miho responded to the newbie. She then let the door close.
Once back at her desk, she followed her simple procedure before touching anything by cleaning her hands with the hand sanitizer she kept in her spot. Next was to pull her notepad out of the small pocket of her uniform and read the letters written before typing it into the system and searching the name.
A fellow clerk walked behind Miho and looked at her screen. “Oh? What are you up to now, Kannonzaka?”
She replied while continuing to look at the screen. “I’m trying to find this doctor’s office.”
Her coworker leaned over her shoulder, both not phased as they were pretty good friends. “Oh? Jakurai Jinguji? Isn’t he the leader of Matenrou?”
“No, not really. I just know my cousin goes to his office a lot. And since I can’t find Doppo currently, I’m looking up Jinguji-sensei’s floor and number so I can check there.” Miho glanced at the time, she still had an hour left of work.
▪️▫️▪️▫️
Miho, now in street clothes and no longer in uniform, walked up to the door that matched those on her phone. After confirming it, she grabbed the handle and opened the door.
The waiting room was empty as the day was winding down. If there was a patient still here, they were probably in their appointment already.
Miho walked up to the secretary behind the desk. “Excuse me, but is Jinguji-sensei still here?”
“Yes, he is. Would you like for me to call him?”
“Yes, please.” Miho then took a few steps away from the counter and rubbed her eyes slightly. She was exhausted, and her makeup was starting to reveal her true face. While she didn’t hear much of what the woman said, she did hear her family name spoken.
It wasn’t long until the secondary door opened and a tall man came walking out. When his eyes laid on the red headed woman, he became confused.
“Excuse me, but was a man just in here?” Jakurai spoke.
“I’m sorry, but no,” Miho spoke. “I’m Miho Kannonzaka. I’ve heard from my cousin that he visits you often. Is he here currently?”
Jakurai shook his head. “I’m sorry, but he hasn’t visited here at all today.”
Miho pressed her lips together tightly, this meant Doppo was most likely with Hifumi. “Thank you for that information, Jinguji-sensei. I hope you have a good rest of your day.” She smiled at him before exiting the room.
Jakurai stood there for a moment, still registering the fact. That woman is looking for Doppo, one of his friends. Her expression also gave way to how determined she was to find him. If his Doppo’s family was looking for him, it was best to help.

Miho exited the hospital and started to zip up her jacket. While the air wasn’t cold, she was.
“Damn Hifumi… Dragging Doppo to your place, aren’t you?” Miho muttered it under her breath. She began to walk but stopped in her tracks when she heard her name.
“Kannonzaka-san, please wait.”
Miho turned her head around to see Jakurai walking up to her. He looked a bit more relaxed but kept the professional appearance.
Jakurai spoke again. “You’re cousins with Doppo-kun, correct?” He watched as Miho confirmed his question. “Then maybe I can help you look for him.”
Miho smiled, this time it was genuine. “Thank you very much. It would be very appreciated.”
