Messiah’s Jubilee
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners; 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of our God’s vengeance; to comfort all who mourn, 3 to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the Lord to glorify him. 4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins; they will restore the former devastations; they will renew the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations. 5 Strangers will stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners will be your plowmen and vinedressers.

Fuck it here's some of my favourite Wolvie vs Gambit fight moments
First up: Uncanny X-Men {1963} #273, wherein Gambit is trying to prove himself and Wolverine is sizing him up and also dealing with some jealousy over Gambit's close friendship with Storm, something he does not examine ever lmao

Next up: Same comic as before but #277! Technically this is a fake Skrull Wolverine but it does have Gambit stabbing the fake Wolvie to save Storm and then doing a little callback which is neat :]

In #279-280, Gambit is under the mental control of the Shadow King, leading to a pretty cool fight! This was also the start of the Gambit, Wolvie, Jubilee trio dynamic, which was unfortunately shortlived but very present in the 90's!

Ultimate X-Men #50 is the first time we see them fight in the Ultimate Universe! The second time is in #53 but we'll get to that [side note: Force of Nature is canon in this universe and they have some cute moments themselves uwu]

Okay, I have some questions:
1 how old was Dani Moonstar at the time of the, roughly, 2005 New X-Men series, and by extension, M-Day?
2 how old is she supposed to be now?
For the record, a part of me wants to say she was 19 when Elixir became her ward, but I'm not sure. I'm just trying to figure this out for myself.
If you take the in-universe dates and ages at face value, then we know 1) Rahne was 19 during New Mutants vol. 2/Academy X, when she worked as a teaching assistant. 2) Sam was over 21 during New Mutants vol. 3/Utopia (where he's above the California drinking age and it's not presented as a fake ID). Dani and Sam were both 16 when they were introduced, and were between 2 and 3 years older than Rahne. Utopia takes place around a year after Messiah Complex (and therefore both Academy X and M-Day), but that's also a direct reference to the real passage of time in a Marvel comic (always dangerous to trust!), so you could just as well ignore it if you want and have it take place some undisclosed number of months later. Either way Dani ends up being around 21 - 22 when she met Josh, depending on if she has an early or late birthday.
As for her current age in the comics right now... um, honestly she's probably intended to be around the same age, as absurd as that sounds? They've heavily compressed the timeline for Krakoa, so that there would be only two generations of X-Men, and part of the effect of having everyone die and get resurrected at least once is to let them just ignore age differences from here on out. If you look around at the modern comics, Laura (and her age cohort) are treated as the same age as the New Mutants or Jubilee. Xuan is dating a student and no one thinks it's weird. Illyana and Doug are presented as being in the same generation as Teen Cable, who is around the same age as the Stepford sisters and Armor. They're all somewhere nebulously in their early twenties, with the older X-Men (Scott's cohort) all somewhere nebulously around thirty.

messiah 2030
"behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him.  and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.  even so, amen." rev 1:7
i was recently introduced to a new teaching that i found fascinating.  it was titled "messiah 2030" and gave some interesting insights, backed up mostly by scripture.
it centered on the fact that a day with the Lord is as a thousand days, a sentiment that has several scriptures mentioning that.  i will not disclose all of it's content for you here because i wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who wishes to watch it on youtube.
to further strengthen their case of a thousand years being as a day, God told adam and eve, "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." gen 2:17  scripture records in gen 5:5 that adam did indeed die at the age of 930, within the thousand year day of God's calendar.
the documentary is about two hours long and goes on to show how all the numbers mentioned in scripture which we tend to gloss over, are actually showing us a timeline of things to come.  God has said He reveals the end from the beginning.  knowledge is increasing and seals are being broken.  these numbers are revealing a pattern, weaving ages and timelines together, revealing how God (the master mathmetician) is actually causing all things to work together for His purposes; even to the day of our deaths.  "Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.  and in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them." psa 139:16
i realize we all have free will and our action have effects, but when one comes to God and allows Him to be Lord, are we now actually beginning to walk in His will, fulfilling His desired purposes, and can He not adjust things accordingly?  while the unrepentant lives may indeed seem "random," are our actions no longer random but accomplishing His desired outcome.  even in their "random" acts God has control of all the outcomes.
is God more intricately involved in our lives than we have really realized?  does every pain, failure and accomplishment now serve His purposes?  sometimes in writing my dailies i will struggle over just which word to use to convey my thoughts.  is this really God rearranging things on the fly because He desires another meaning or expression instead?  is this God causing, "all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." rom 8:28  the fact is, i find that comforting and confirmation that we can indeed trust Him.
however much credence you give to the documentary, i will leave up to each person.  but viewing it and contemplating on it is something i consider well worth doing.  if you gain nothing else from it, you might see a correlation between God's timing and man's.
they speculate the birth and death of the messiah was a jubilee year and the church has since been wandering in their desert for forty jubilees since, hence arriving at 2030, for His return - two thousand years later.  the speculate His return would be 120 jubilees, essentially 6000 years from creation.  i didn't figure out how they lined that up with the fact that the now year of 2023 is the recorded jewish year 5783.  other than that, it kind of makes sense if all the dealing with israel were type and shadow of what is to come, which scripture firmly confirms.
they really didn't get into whether they think pre, mid or post tribulation.  maybe they didn't want to touch that controversy.  leaving it unstated means it is left up to each of us to decide when we will see our Lord.  if it indeed a pre-trib rapture, that means we should be looking up expectantly this year - but then again, we should always be looking up.
scripture does indeed say no man knows the day or the hour, but we should know the season and could a year not be considered a season?  anyway, just as the prophet daniel spoke - knowledge is increasing and seals are being opened up for these latter days.  many are studying diligently and we are reaping the benefit of their studies.

Derek Jarman's first Super 8 films, made as he worked designing sets for Ken Russell's rather more big-budget The Devils (1971) and Savage Messiah (1972), were shown to friends who would “come down to laugh at themselves and put on records behind them.” There is already here an intimation of Jarman's short career as a maker of pop videos, directing promos for The Smiths and Pet Shop Boys: music as mere accompaniment, a separate but parallel atmosphere gliding alongside that of the image. His training as a painter, he emphasised in interviews, combined with a lack of interest in narrative, made him into an almost myopically visual filmmaker; sound, it often seems in his films, is something to be outsourced to the proper technicians and assembled like a mixtape at the dubbing stage: put a record on. (In the recently-published selection of his sketchbooks, there is no mention of music.) The appearance of a contemporary filmmaker whose work had music credits like those of Jarman's would smack of hip 'curation' – indeed, exactly such a charge was levelled at Morvern Callar, with its sequence of Pitchfork favourites, and Berberian Sound Studio, scored by Broadcast – but few such films would treat their own soundtracks with such erratic casualness.
The paradox here is that one of the factors in Jarman's ongoing acclaim is precisely his ability to put music from the margins of culture in the foreground of a potentially – though unstably – public cinema. The aspect of “making a nice party”, of making films partly to enjoy collaborative situations, spilled over into the soundtracks. Brian Eno, Simon Fisher Turner, Andy Gill (former guitarist with Marxist punk-funk group Gang of Four), Throbbing Gristle (who soundtracked In The Shadow of the Sun (1974)) and their successor band Psychic TV (for whom Jarman directed the promo-cum-artist's film Psychic Rally in Heaven), Coil, even Annie Lennox miming to her own version of 'Every Time We Say Goodbye' in Edward II: the list of glittering names, at least for fans of experimental music, is both mouth-watering and oddly numbing. In spite of the brilliance poured into his films, one would struggle to name a great 'music moment' among them – aside of course from the sunshower of Elizabeth Welch's 'Stormy Weather' at the end of The Tempest. Just as individual shots, characters and narrative fragments in Jarman's films ping, semi-maddeningly, out of their provisional contexts, forcing the viewer to reconceive the film's shape at every step, so the music often seems to disappear into its own game of reverie and seduction before momentarily touching the carnal vicissitudes of the image.
There is at least one film one can't watch with the soundtrack off. Critics generally hive off Jubilee (1978) from the rest of his work, partly for being his most narrative film, partly for keeping the visual effects to a minimum and partly, one suspects, out of a gut distaste for pop music. (Conversely, it produces the amusing spectacle of pop historians trying to sift out its merely documentary content.) The film's funhouse-mirror portrait of punk, with an abrasive young star (Adam Ant) ending up in the dissolute clutches of tycoon Borgia Ginz (Jack Birkett), give them plenty of ammunition. Jarman himself recognised the bitter overtones: “Had I betrayed Punk... Derek the Dull Little Middle-Class Wanker'? Or had punk betrayed itself?” The note of defensiveness here, in which he imagines himself “[s]ome aristo on a fallen estate” suggests some recognition of the way the film slipped out of his control, propelled by the contradictory cultural energies it tried to absorb, by the charge and flash of pop. Treating the music with a measure of undivided attention – including a lovely moment when, during Adam Ant's performance of 'Plastic Surgery', the camera's 360-degree pan reveals Jarman and crew watching next to Ginz – meant no longer being able to frame it as a semi-autonomous private joke or temporary delirium. The repeated emphasis in Jarman's films on recording and mediation – the radar dishes in The Angelic Conversation, Tilda Swinton's Hitlerian microphone in Edward II, the foregrounded grain of Super-8 projected and reshot or run through video – transforms from the relentless intimacy of his home videos, from a self-consciously minority art, to the precarious seizure of the means and powers of the spectacle (Malcolm McLaren's self-declared tactic). The social outcasts with whom Jarman identified had, in the persons of Jordan and Ant and the Sex Pistols and innumerable others, stepped out onto the stage, and the film recoiled and fractured with the image of ruination and vitality they represented.
Mark Sinker has most acutely characterised Jubilee as “an impasto of clashing symbol and mood and technique and sensibility: the perverse and deliberately bewildering fusion of past and present, art and politics, documentary and fiction, actors and non-actors, rubbish and beauty”. It shared this sensibility with the most brilliant pop music of the period: Borgia Ginz's mansion is twinned in my mind with the decadent bachelor pads of Bryan Ferry's narrators on For Your Pleasure (1974). And, though more uneasily, with the echoing hospital wards and headspaces of Blue – a 'musical' if ever there was one. Most of Simon Fisher Turner's score to Blue is possessed of a listing, immersive melancholy, filled with shimmering cymbals and singing bowls and echo-drowned brass and woodwinds, that aligns with Coil's soundtracks for Journey To Avebury and The Angelic Conversation. Blue's sound design's collaging of voices, music and field recordings, its outrageous transitions between passages of watery calm and juddering noise, between mourning and libidinous overload – as Coil's hallucinatory acid house 'Theme For Blue' revs into life – is the most radical of Jarman's career, an achievement to match his furious fluency with the image. But, like Jubilee, it is also the soundtrack that pays most attention to the image – to the blankness, ambiguity and multiple meanings of the static image of blue, to the sensuous folds and false depths the viewer perceives after staring for so long, and to the voiceover's descriptions of the brutal politics of the AIDS crisis, of ordinary intimacy, of remembered landscapes. Watching, I think of the blue and red montage of Jordan's make-up, that ferocious and contradictory statement of independence, in Jubilee, and of the music – the blues – that so fiercely laments the dangers and pleasures of a disappearing world.

Worthy Brief - October 7, 2022
Celebrate!
Leviticus 25:8-10 'Count off seven sabbath years -- seven times seven years -- so that the seven sabbath years amount to a period of forty-nine years. Then have the trumpet sounded everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land. Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each of you is to return to your family property and to your own clan.
As we conclude the observance of Yom Kippur, I'd like to share another interesting observation. While it is a day on which adults are afflicting themselves by fasting, abstaining from all pleasures, and repenting. However, for the children, Yom Kippur is a very different holiday. This day is my son Obi's favorite holiday! Why? Because the kids are not fasting or recalling their sins or suffering at all – they are celebrating freedom!
On Yom Kippur in Israel, TV and radio stations are shut down and the children are playing jubilantly outdoors with absolutely no vehicles on any road. Everywhere you look kids are freewheeling on bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and bare feet, with no restraint. The children are truly free on Yom Kippur. And unbeknownst to them, they are typifying a prophetic event that occurs only once every 50 years, on Yom Kippur.
Every 50th year, in this cycle, called the Yovel or Jubilee, freedom is proclaimed! All things are returned to their rightful owners – all debts are forgiven – and the entire year is a great celebration of freedom, restoration and joy. And the kids, without realizing it, are celebrating jubilee every year.
Prophetically, Yovel or Jubilee speaks of the Lord's return to establish His Millennial Kingdom, during which time the world will experience a peace and rest unknown since the fall of mankind. This will be the restoration of all things [Acts 3:21], a time of tremendous joy and true freedom during the reign of our Messiah King.
But take note that the atonement precedes the Jubilee, and without the atonement no one comes to the freedom, rest, and joy of the Yovel. The atonement provides our forgiveness of sins. Sin is slavery. Liberty and joy require forgiveness and restoration. Only through atonement can we truly celebrate liberty!
This day, every day, can be your jubilee if as a child of God you celebrate His forgiveness, walk in freedom and rest with your sins forgiven by the atoning sacrifice of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. If and when you do, you are a living prophetic message to this world that the Lord's jubilee is coming!

As far as it’s known Queen Elizabeth has never bowed before anybody else till this day. The Queen and Prince Phillip met the Ethiopian ruler Haile Selassie I, during a visit to Ethiopia In 1955. The photographs where captured during the Ethiopian Emperors Silver Jubilee celebrations in 1955 for Life Magazine by celebrity photographer at the time Alfred Eisenstaedt.

Royal protocol dictates the Queen is bowed to by those who greet her, including members of her own Royal Family. The Queen occasionally greets close friends with a kiss on the cheeks or a handshake. However, Queen Elizabeth broke the rules and bent her knee before the late Ethiopian Emperor, Haile Selassie I.

Queen Elizabeth has been on the throne for 68 years and in that time she has rarely bowed to anyone. The Queen and Prince Phillip broke protocol and extended royal courtesy to a monarch of an African nation. The British Monarchy adhere to Christianity and the late Ethiopian Emperor was wildly considered as The Messiah. The second coming of Christ. Worshipped as a prophet of God. Haile Selassie lineage can be traced back to the Solomon dynasty. A biblical bloodline that can be traced to Jesus. Queen Elizabeth broke protocol and extended Haile Selassie hounor of the highest regard. The Queen is of Christian faith, however she has never bowed to The Pope, the most God Elected figure in the Catholic Church.

Haile Selassie I wasn’t just considered earthly royalty. He was received to his people as ‘God incarnation’. As Ethiopian tradition dictates, all rulers of the throne must have traceable lineage to a biblical house. He is a direct descendant of King Solomon and The Queen of Sheba which makes him also a descendant of Jesus. The House of Solomon can be traced to King David. Therefore making Haile Selassie of ‘spiritual royalty’, essentially kin of Jesus. The entomology of Haile Selassie name means "Power of the Trinity". Haile Selassie's full title in office was "By the Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Elect of God".
