PLI scheme for Pharma, drones and textiles to be modified by govt

New Delhi: The government is planning to make adjustments to the production-linked incentive PLI scheme for pharmaceuticals, drones, and textile sectors. According to an official statement, these modifications are intended to stimulate investment and bolster manufacturing. An official source has stated that these sectors were chosen on the basis of their performance under the existing scheme for various products.
Higher disbursement scheme for PLI scheme
The official said, “Disbursement of production-linked incentives (PLI) for white goods (AC and LED lights) would start this month and that would push the amount of disbursement, which was only Rs 2,900 crore till March 2023.”
After the identification of sectors, a combined note for approval from the Union Cabinet will be sent. The change in disbursement includes an extension of time for Pharma sectors, and addition of products in some sectors. Within the textile industry, there is a proposal to expand the scope of particular products within the technical textiles category, while in the drone sector, there is a plan to raise the incentive amount.

if your political stance is that people changing their bodies to be more attractive is wrong because it's "unnatural", you're wrong on all accounts. people have been modifying their appearances to be more attractive, including physically and permanently altering their bodies, since before the dawn of homo sapiens as a species.
the problem is not that women are choosing to undergo cosmetic procedures to better meet the beauty standards of the present day, and if you think that women (especially trans women) simply choosing not to do these things would accomplish anything, you're sorely mistaken.
the problem is that men hold institutional power in society, and they can use that power to punish women who don't conform. yes, this power they hold undoubtedly influences the decisions of women who undergo these cosmetic procedures, but those women are not all mindless drones bowing to the patriarchy because they don't know any better or they haven't liberated themselves. yes, some of them hold internalized misogyny and willingly uphold these standards, but most of the women who choose to modify their bodies understand that refusing to do so will materially harm them. they're making informed decisions to improve their well-being as much as they can under the conditions of the society they live in.
frankly, I find the idea that most women aren't intelligent enough to realize that they're "complicit in their own oppression" appalling and horrifically misogynistic. you can criticize "choice feminism" all you want, and there are very good reasons for doing so, but placing doubt on women's intelligence and agency, thereby blaming them for their own oppression, is not progressive. it has long been a radical feminist tactic, in fact. if that's who you want to align yourself with, then frankly I don't think you have anything interesting, insightful, or even true to say about feminism.
if, however, your problem is that women are being pressured into cosmetic procedures that they will be punished for not adhering to, then your goal must be to abolish the power structures that allow women to face these punishments in the first place. your targets should be the institutions of wage labor, private property, colonialism, police, the medical industry, organized religion, state marriage, and all of the other institutions that uphold the global system of capitalist exploitation. only when women can no longer be deprived of our individual human rights for failing to conform to the misogynistic expectations placed upon us will we truly be free to make decisions about our own bodies.

The extent of Russia’s influence in Sudan goes beyond its involvement in the current war. It’s not only fueling war in Sudan but it’s the reason Russia is able to continue its war in Ukraine and other places despite being sanctioned by the West. Russia is surviving western sanctions by exploiting, smuggling gold and aiding the Sudanese Transitional Military Council (TMC) in the suppression of the pro-civilian led government movement.
In 2014, Putin was vocal about creating an economic plan to circumvent potential Western sanctions tied to the Ukraine war. By 2017, they began extending lifelines to autocrats, and unsurprisingly, former Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir joined Putin’s economic pipeline. After a meeting between the two presidents, Russian geologists and mineralogists employed by Meroe Gold arrived in Sudan.
The Russian companies, including Wagner, a private military company linked to Russia and frequently engaged in conflicts worldwide, began establishing a presence in Sudan. Notably, Wagner leader is under US sanctions, accused of meddling in the 2020 US elections. In 2020, under Trump administration, the group was sanctioned for its heavy exploitation of Sudan’s natural resources. The exploitation was so evident that they literally had to be sanctioned by Trump, which is quite surprising.
In 2019, following Al-Bashir’s overthrow, Wagner transitioned to striking deals with the Rapid Support Forces militia general, Hemeti. This militia, formerly known as Janjaweed and implicated in the Darfur genocide, received weapons and training. Wagner, in return, gained access to smuggled gold and devised plans to maintain control, ultimately contributing to today’s proxy war in Sudan.
The method of gold smuggling involved disguising it as flying cookies and concealing the smuggled gold beneath Russian cookie boxes. 🤣

In June 2022, the Darfur Bar Association (DBA) launched an investigation and confirmed Wagner mercenaries presence in South Darfur after its attack on gold miners in South Darfur. The investigation also revealed that the Transitional Military council (SAF+RSF) knew about the presence of Wagner in Sudan and in 2019 a copy of the report was actually sent to then prime minister Hamadok.
The DBA investigation also revealed how the UAE is involved in Sudan and its role in the current war. There’s also an extensive investigation report on the role of the UAE in Sudan by the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal that proves the UAE involvement in Sudan.
How are the UAE and Russia linked you might ask?
1) Most Sudanese gold passes through the United Arab Emirates. Unofficial data from the United Arab Emirates reported that over $1.7bn of Sudanese gold landed in Dubai in 2021, just under half the value of all the country’s exports. But there is little accurate data tracking it after it arrives in the UAE (arrives via Russia). Most industry exports reckon that official figures account for less than a quarter of total gold sales. Khartoum’s central bank recorded gold exports of 26.4 tonnes from January to September in 2021 but estimates over 100 tonnes would have been smuggled out during that period. (Africa Confidential)

2) In April 2023, following the onset of the war in Sudan, the Wagner group was exposed by CNN for allegedly supplying missiles to the RSF in their conflict against the Sudanese armed forces (SAF). The arms came through the UAE under the guise of humanitarian aid for Sudanese refugees in Chad. These armaments were destined for the UAE’s local proxy, the RSF, in Sudan’s western region. In addition, CNN exposed that the shipments of surface-to-air missiles provided by Wagner were destined for the RSF via flights shuttling the hardware from Latakia, Syria, to Khadim, Libya, and then airdropped to northwestern Sudan, where the RSF enjoys a strong presence. This support from Wagner is considered a significant factor contributing to the RSF’s continuation of the war and their reported atrocities against Sudanese civilians, including killing, looting, sexual violence, and mass destruction of Sudan’s infrastructure.

The satellite images from CNN and the open-source group “All Eyes On Wagner,” provide evidence of an escalated Wagner presence at the bases of Khalifa Haftar, the leader of a Libyan militia supported by Wagner, in Libya. This heightened presence was purportedly in preparation to assist the RSF militia against the SAF.

3) There is evidence that the UAE has been funding Wagner in Libya to help reduce the financial burden on Russia for its Libyan operations and has been deploying these forces to prop up its ally, General Khalifa Haftar, who has been fighting the UN-recognized Government of National Accord in Tripoli. The report that the UAE is funding Wagner in Libya actually came from the US department of defense, which again is a surprise considering the close alliance of the US and the UAE.

▪️LIES OF THE DAY.. photos of Gazan children in the mud and puddles in a tent — are FAKE via AI, but are being redistributed everywhere on social networks. On those sites, many believe that these are real photos and wonder how the photographer had the heart to photograph children like this and not help them.  (( that’s not the question, posing children for fake photos is a Palestinian industry, just google “Pallywood”.  People believe these because they seem ‘plausible’ - nobody bothers to count the billions in support, tens of thousands of tents and hundreds of daily trucks - just sees whatever manipulated pictures are distributed. And doesn’t contrast that to yesterday’s propaganda pictures, which were dry Gaza children wearing hospital isolation units as outer wear - because its fun - wasting them from use as medical supplies, that were distributed on the same networks.  An anti-truth age. ))

💥SCORES OF CASUALTIES IN GAZA ON THE 125TH DAY OF ISRAEL'S WAR OF GENOCIDE IN GAZA💥
Scores of civilians were killed and even more wounded overnight and in the early morning hours of Thursday as a result of the 125th day of Israel's ongoing war of genocide against the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched waves of strikes using artillery, drones, missiles, bombs and gunfire launched by land, sea and air targeting various civilian areas of the Gaza Strip, including the north, central and southern sections of Gaza.
In Gaza City, in the north of the Strip, occupation warplanes targeted several neighborhoods with airstrikes, including the al-Rimal, al-Zaytoun and al-Sabra neighborhoods, resulting in dozens of martyrs and even more wounded.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation drones targeted the western sections of Gaza City, including the University square, as well as the industrial, aviation and Saraya intersection areas, killing a number of civilians and wounding several others, while at the same time, the Israeli occupation army blocked ambulance and civil defense crews from retrieving the civilian bodies littering the streets.
Artillery and airstrikes were also heard coming from the al-Sabra, al-Rimal and Tal al-Hawa neighborhoods of Gaza City as occupation warplanes targeted civilian residences in the area.
Earlier yesterday evening, Israeli jets targeted the Fahjan and Al-Mughir family homes in the Tal al-Sultan and Al-Saudi neighborhoods to the west of Rafah city, in the southernmost tip of the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, Nafez Abdel Jawad, a journalist with local broadcaster Palestine TV, was killed along with his only son after an Israeli missile was fired into a civilian residence in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, where the father and son had been sheltering inside.
IOF warplanes also launched violent air raids on several neighborhoods of Khan Yunis, in the south of Gaza, while at the same time, occupation artillery shelled the eastern section of the city with explosive rockets.
Israeli aircraft also bombarded the border areas with Egypt, south of Rafah city, while occupation artillery and rocket fire bombarded the east of Khan Yunis.
In addition to these war crimes, local medical sources are reporting more than 5 Palestinians killed and several others wounded after occupation warplanes targeted the maintenance room of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the northern Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City.
While late in the evening on Wednesday, occupation warplanes bombed the ambulance crews belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), resulting in the death of paramedic Mohammed Al-Omari and wounding two others, bringing the death toll among PRCS ambulance and paramedic crews to 12 since the beginning of Israeli aggression beginning on October 7th, 2023.
PRCS also reported two casualties resulting from Israeli gunfire from military vehicles stationed in the vicinity of Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis City, where occupation forces have besieged the medical complex for 17 consecutive days.
According to medical sources with Gaza's Ministry of Health, the Israeli occupation army committed a total of 15 massacres of Palestinian families resulting in the deaths of more than 130 civilians, and the wounding of another 170 others over the previous 24-hours.
As a result of Israel's ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, in excess of 27'708 Palestinians have been killed, with the majority of casualties among women and children, while another 67'147 civilians have been wounded and more than 8'000 remain missing amid intense occupation shelling and airstrikes.

Whumpcember Day 27: Bleeding Out

A snippet from Kel's shady and tumultuous backstory. I had Bleeding Out (Imagine Dragons) playing throughout writing this, lol.
CWs and themes: spy mission gone wrong; female main character; medical whump; bullet wound; bone break; bleeding out; character preemptively accepts death (she's still alive though)
Something had gone wrong. Something always did, and that was why it was Kel and Tallmadge who had been assigned to this mission, because that was who could be counted on to improvise as needed. The two of them had successfully stolen back the object of their mission -- an innocuous-looking flash drive -- but their established contact in the building had ghosted them, and suddenly they found themselves running as fast as they could through the industrial mess underneath the building's northern facade, hoping against hope to meet up with a drone as soon as they could get out.
It was halfway across a catwalk overhead that their pursuers caught up with them. They might not have known what the two agents had taken, but they obviously knew it wasn't anything good.
Bullets ricocheted off the metal rails and Tallmadge slipped on the grated floor. Kel grabbed his arm and kept running, but --
"No!"
Pain blossomed in her thigh and warmth pooled out from its front and back sides. Kel collapsed, realizing a second delayed why she'd fallen and why Tallmadge had yelled out: she'd been shot.
Blood spurted out, staggered and quick, from the two wounds. The bullet had smashed through her bone and hit an artery on the way. Not wasting any time, she reached into her pocket...
...and handed the flash drive over to Tallmadge.
"Go. Just fucking go," Kel hissed. Good god, she hadn't realized there was so much blood in her body, and now it was spilling out onto the grated metal catwalk.
Tallmadge didn't hesitate to leave her behind. Kel knew he wouldn't, had counted on it when she partnered with him for the mission. Vaguely, she hoped he'd get some agency-mandated therapy for all this. She watched his fingers clench around that damned flash drive as he sprinted away. The clean white drive was a stark contrast to the stained metal around her.
All for a tiny flashdrive. But it wasn't really tiny -- the codes and data stored in that thing (that thing that shouldn't have been created in the first place, that thing that counterintel dropped the ball on) held lives in their lines.
Matthew Greene. That was the name of the agent who had double-crossed them and stolen all of that data. He'd tried to hawk it to two other countries' intelligence agencies before striking a deal with the Saudi government. Current Saudi tech could brute force the password in roughly eight months. After that, even with all the mitigation Kel's people could do, it would be over for any number of the people whose information was stored there. Friendlies and full agents alike, foreign politicians and civilians, and the families of all of them -- they would be at risk, and so would the incredible network of contacts and information flows that the Organization had accumulated via Greene's teammates in the past year.
Kel looked down at the bleeding. She knew her life was worth getting that flash drive back. She'd known when she'd been briefed on its contents.
There were footsteps rattling the catwalk, and Kel couldn't help but smirk when she looked up at the approaching pursuers. They were too late. She was dying and she didn't even have what they were after. Her stomach was nauseous, her skin was cold, and her leg was all but numb. The adrenaline was probably the only thing keeping her awake, she figured.
As the figures drew closer, Kel's world faded to gray.

Ooh how does Kel escape? I mean she obviously does considering we know she's alive in my ongoing fic but she really thought that was it for her then....

What’s nightmares job?
Nightmare is in charge of the entirety of the Dust district. He is over multiple sub districts. Error would be second in command of anything happened to Nightmare.

He is in charge of security around all of Deadbolt, mainly the gates and wby entrances. He knows everyone who goes in and out of the city. He is also the person that negotiates with the Berries to get a sort of peace in exchange for providing medical care for one of their people.
He is also able to watch everything, he has cameras and drones everywhere. Since he stays in one place majority of the time he has the time to watch everyone. He also has to deal with Dust and the whispers, which can be irritating. His side of the city is vey much industrial and heavily focused of infrastructure. Where as Dreams is more focused of providing medical care and resources like food and water. Basically Nightmare handles the private workforce and Dream handles the public.
Which works out for both of them.
Also yes when you measure it, Nightmare does have more space, but one of those districts is constantly switching control because Blue and Killer are constantly at each other to try and take over the area. It’s stupid but they are both extremely young and have a lot to prove.

this has happened like 5 times now. an animal crashes in a drop pod, we tend it, it decides it doesn't want to join the colony, and then it's just trapped in the hospital forever shitting on the floor and eating nutrient paste right out of the dispenser until i mercykill it.

this also keeps happening: i have hospitality running, so we have more people visiting the colony than normal. and our biome has a lot of natural predators. so,

every time somebody shows up there's like a 25% chance i get a notification saying i've lost favor due to a death, because a nearby bear or wolf or something ate a passing kid. this colony is a child deathtrap. i managed to bury a couple of them but there's just so many
they still love their stay and leave gifts though. sorry. (i'm honestly not sure how the hospitality mechanics work. i've been unable to convince a guest to join me yet)
our big fuckfest of this year was a quest i took to get raided.

resurrector mech serums are pretty rare and they're one of my two options for getting rid of nattore's dementia, though they're the worse of the two. it was worth trying to make this work, even if the raid looked a little spicy.
it was spicier than i thought. i didn't look closely enough at the numbers and i also didn't realize they'd be showing up back to back.
each group had 130 raiders in it. so ~260 total

i didn't have any drone strikes or empire military assistance to cash in. however, the first group broke a wall in a monument i was supposed to protect, triggering a mechanoid cluster. so i uh. just dropped a mortar on that cluster at the right time. and that cleaned up a lot of the second wave

we lost a new recruit. acceptable losses. we scraped through it after a couple tries (i forgot getting enemies to unstack is a huge pain in the ass) and half the colony almost bleeding out. vugaiv is an absolute fucking champion of a doctor tbh. he's got 18 medical skill and has delivered 6 colony babies

but i've managed not to blow anything up yet. i need to make more fuel rods but there's no fucking uranium on this map. in the meantime, we finally had the power to build some hydroponics, at which point the permanent eclipse finally ended after a solid year of darkness. it wasn't wasted effort, honestly; it's so cold we only get 20 days of growing time per year, so some hydroponics will be nice to have. long-term we're going to need a very large heated growing cave with soil on the ground so we can grow devilstrand, which takes ages to grow
also we've technically been at the medieval tech level this entire time. i have a mod that advances us to the next tech level if we research 50% of the techs at that level. we finally made it to the industrial age. great job everybody
