Moh Bright And Destined = Mohbad
youtube
We lost such a light; RIP Mohbad, Imole. A Gemini JUST like Tupac. Imole in Yoruba means “Light.” UGH I have been so sad about the passing of this literal ray of sunshine. He brought so much joy and light to my life during one of my darkest times. I played his song 'Peace' on repeat as a mantra. I feel like "they", the powers that be, the industry is really trying to snuff out the light. They are silencing movers, shakers, knowers, thinkers, the ultra light beams... THE ARTISTS.
While alive he voiced that he was bullied. He alleged that his life was under threat and sought police protection from many people. He was attacked and assaulted by many until the instruction of former record label owner, Naira Marley (who grew up in London). His fans burned down the home of Naira Marley right after his passing. The record label that attacked him is actually a drug gang called the "Marlians" with Government mob ties in Nigeria AND the UK. Mohbad cried out for help but no real changes were made until after his death.
Weeks after his death evidence has been pouring out on the internet thanks to the hashtag #JusticeforMohbad. Videos were shared. He was taken to the hospital and given an injection by a nurse. He instantly fell unconscious but they claimed he was dead. They instantly announced his death worldwide. As it turns out he was not dead, however his family & frenemies (in collusion) with the Government arranged his burial on land he bought for THEM. They rushed and buried him ALIVE so no one finger could be pointed at anyone. Mind you, they buried him worse than a dog with his neck bent in a coffin he was too tall for. This was torture and a group assassination. His biological mother was the only one not in on it.
He was so strong and survived underground for a long time before eventually passing away. They only exhumed (brought up) his body once enough time had passed that they knew he was dead. Now they are doing an autopsy on his body and the Government has taken weeks (so far) for this process. I think they are testing why the many injections they forced him to take prior to his death did not kill him. He still has not had a proper burial. This followers are just waiting in anticipation for what will come next.
Mohbad started speaking out against the Gov. in 2020. He was against police brutality. He believed in the power of the people. Let’s be clear that this man was a freedom fighter & a pacifist. As tragic as the loss has been it’s been equally awe inspiring seeing his spark of light ignite the world, just as he envisioned it would.
The craziest thing about Mohbad's death is that being the genius Gemini artist that he was he left us a road map up evidence; in the form of art but also receipts and legal filings. Everything is on his Twitter or "X" account @iammohbad_ and it's well organized. He intended for the songs to come out after death because his life was too under threat. Just as Tupac he spoke of his own death. There is really no way his oppressors can lie their way out of this one - although they will try their hardest.
If anyone thinks it's an accident or coincidence that a young black male artist whose #1 single was "Peace" and last album was titled: "Blessed" was killed... you're mistaken. To me he's now the African Tupac; he had the same faith with similar complications after he chose to leave a record label. He was a purist of strong faith, like Pac who would not abide by their unhealthy lifestyle and they dragged him to the grave for it. You see, it’s deeper than just a senseless brutal death - because it was spiritual warfare with a touch of malicious jealousy. Jealousy seems to be the real pandemic right now.
When you shine too brightly so many aim to dim that light and to drag it into the mud. But the sun always rises in the morning and Mohbad's light and legacy will now beam even brighter as the entire WORLD stands up and comes together for his justice.
Why is it important as an American to note happenings in Nigeria > Ghana > India etc. ? Because all these locations were also originally colonized by the British and are all on a similar timeline of late stage capitalism. Unity IS community... internationally. Late stage #capitalism is a breeding ground for jealousy & hatred of those who can get it on their own - who can get money outside of the system and who do what we love. This was done as a message. This is disrespectful to EVERY single #artist no matter the background around the WORLD.
They don’t want us to have joy. They don’t want us to have peace. They don’t want us to find community. Without those elements present Capitalism thrives!
But I am thankful I found his music at the time I did! Music is healing and transformative. Thank you Mohbad for the love, light and legacy you left behind. Your sunshine didn't go in vein. You will always bring joy to my life!

By • Olalekan Fagbade Police release Naira Marley, one other person from its custody over Mohbad’s death Police in Lagos State released musician and label owner, Azeez Fashola, (Naira Marley) and Samson Balogun (Sam Larry) from custody on Friday after meeting their bail conditions. The duo had been in police custody over October’s mysterious death of rapper, musician and song writer, Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad). Police spokesman in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed their release in a statement he issued on Friday at Ikeja. Naira Marley, Sam Larry and two others were arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court on Oct. 6, over their alleged involvement in the death of Mohbad and were remanded in police custody. The court granted them bail on Nov. 6 in the sum of N20 million with three responsible sureties in like sum. The magistrate, Mr Adeola Olatunbosun, ruled that the defendants should submit their passports and report weekly to the State’s Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Yaba. “Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, having met their bail conditions, have been released from custody,’’ Hundeyin stated. Born in Lagos on Jan. 3, 1996, Mohbad died in mysterious circumstances on Sept. 12, 2023 and was buried the following day. His death sparked nationwide protests making the Lagos State government to order the exhumation of the body for a coroner’s inquest. Mohbad was said to have attended a concert at Ikorodu, Lagos State on Sept.10 where he sustained injuries in a fracas. Among those the police questioned over his death were the late singer’s father, mother, sisters, brother, friends, wife and manager. The police also invited a childhood friend of Mohbad, Ibrahim Owodunni (Primeboy) for questioning. Police detained Naira Marley and Sam Larry over their alleged roles in the singer’s death as they were reported to have been bullying the rapper. Mohbad was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records, but left the label in 2022. Addressing a news conference in Ikeja on Oct. 5 on preliminary findings on Mohbad’s death, Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Idowu Owohunwa, named an auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, as the prime suspect. Ogedengbe was reported to have injected the deceased thrice in his home on Sept. 12 before he started vomiting and developing goose bumps. Owohunwa said 26 persons had been interviewed concerning Mohbad’s death. According to Owohunwa, Mohbad was taken to the hospital lifeless and was declared dead on Sept. 12 by the attending physicians. He said the auxiliary nurse was called to inject the singer at his home by Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Isiaka, aka “Spending’’. Ogedengbe gave the singer three injections that were believed to have resulted in a series of events that led to his death, the police commissioner said. He said that Primeboy and Mohbad went to the concert together on Sept. 10 and they engaged in violent altercation after the show. The ensuing fight from the altercation caused harm to the late singer. “The management of the injury subsequently resulted in his death,” Owohunwa said. (NAN)

"I’m Not Responsible For DJ Splash’s Mental Illness" - Naira Marley
Embattled Nigerian singer and Marlian Records henchman, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley has denied claims that he is responsible for DJ Splash’s mental instability. Also, he cleared the air on rumours that he (DJ Splash) was once signed to Marlian Records. The ‘soapy’ crooner has been tongue-lashed in recent times on different allegations since the death of his former signee, Mohbad. Among such allegations was that DJ Splash ran mad after taking substances given to him by the Marlian team. DJ Splash’s mother, in a recent video shared by actress Iyabo Ojo during her visit, alleged that since her son left Naira Marley’s house, he had been mentally unstable. However, in an interview with Reno Omokri on Thursday, Marley denied all the allegations. According to him, DJ Splash was never officially signed to his music label, and neither was he responsible for the DJ’s mental instability. He added that the DJ had parted ways with Marlian Records before his mental instability began. He said, “DJ Splash was never signed to Marlian Music. I know him as a DJ, but he has never deejayed with me at shows or anything, it is not like he is my DJ. They just gave him the title because I have a picture with him. He added that he did not know how the DJ’s mental instability started, and neither was he (DJ Splash) still associated with Marlian Records at the time. “When whatever happened to him, he was not at my house, and I do not understand where all this is coming from,” he noted. https://punchng.com/Im-not-responsible-for-DJ-Splashs-mental-illness-Naira-Marley Read the full article

By • Olalekan Fagbade At last Sam Larry finally arrested by Police over death of Mohbad Music Promoter, Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, aka Sam Larry, is currently in Police custody in connection with the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as MohBad. An ally of Azeez Fashola, Nigerian singer popularly known as Naira Marley, Sam Larry, has been trending since the news of the death of MohBad broke. Although he and Naira Marley had stated innocence in the matter, many had called for their arrest over the multiple face-off with MohBad who parted ways with Marlian Records on a controversial note. On Thursday night, SP Benjamin Hudeyin, spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, announced that Sam Larry was in custody. “Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with ongoing investigation,” Hundeyin said. No sooner than the police image maker announced this than Sam Larry started trending on Twitter, topping the trends at number one. It is unclear if Sam Larry surrendered to the police or was forcefully picked up as no information was given by Hundeyin in that regard. Sam Larry’s probe by the police comes less than 24 hours after Naira Marley said he was willing to fly back to Nigeria for investigation. In an interview with ex-Presidential media aide, Reno Omokri, Naira Marley said, “If the security agencies can guarantee my safety, I will be in Nigeria for investigations.” The police, which conducted an autopsy on MohBad last week have vowed to ensure justice for the deceased. #SamLarryarrestedbyPolice
